Beyonce Pulse ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 16 June 2011 27 Comments

Beyonce Pulse

Beyoncé will launch Pulse, a new fragrance for women, in September. Pulse is the singer's third fragrance (it follows Heat and Heat Rush) and reportedly reflects "Beyonce's incredible energy and powerful femininity".

The notes for the floral citrus gourmand include pear blossom, curaçao, bergamot, bluebird orchid, peony, night blooming jasmine, vanilla, musk and woods.

I will update with sizes and concentration when I can. (via newswire.ca, elle)

Update: Beyoncé Pulse was developed by perfumers Bruno Jovanovic and Loc Dong. (via wwd)

Another update: see a review of Beyoncé Pulse.

What a strange bottle. It looks like it could’ve come from Thierry Mugler. Which I guess isn’t so surprising considering that Beyonce’s costumes for her I Am… tour were designed by Mugler…

It does, but it’s not as captivating as a Mugler bottle.

YES!! I was thinking the same thing. and Robin your right celebrity botles aren’t as nice as designer ones, most of the time.

the Beyonce Heat bottle on the print advert looks nice than the real thing, the edges aren’t as sharp.

Cripes, why so aggressively ugly with the packaging?

      Yeah, not sure it works.

Looks like an 80’s drugstore perfume packaging…
      Retro perhaps? :-P

if i’m not mistaken this is her fourth scent. heat ultimate elixir fell between the original heat and the rush flanker.

The Elixir, technically speaking, was just another concentration of the original — so I did not count it.

I actually think the packaging is kind of cool. Now if only the juice could be better than her last handful of fragrances.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Heat, although it was nice enough.

I am a sucker for bottles that are meant to be displayed upside down: Ohlala, Sculpture for Men, Rochas Man, Jewel and Bijou by Alfred Sung, to name a few. I’ve always found them perversely appealing. Therefore, I like this one, even though I have to admit it looks sort of cheap.

It is a nice idea, although admit I didn’t know this was supposed to be an upside down thing until I read it at Elle.

Beyonce is cranking them out. I’ve only just tried Heat Rush.

My AWESOME friend APassionateJourney just sent me a sample of Pulse. I much prefer it over Heat and Heat Rush. I don’t know what you’ll think of it Robin but I really like it! The top is sweet tangy citrus that kind of reminds me of a creamsicle for a bit. But that doesn’t last forever. What I mostly get from Pulse, and that I absolutely love, is that it reminds me of, and don’t call me crazy, Johnson and Johnson’s baby shampoo! I think it’s the most comforting smell in the world and Pulse reminds me of it! Haha. I’m weird. I love it and that’s all that matters. Haha. : )

Oh, Robin! This is Beyonce’s BEST! It starts of a tangy citrusy sweet fragrance then it dries down to a sweet milk scent kinda like Jo Malone’s sweet Milk then it goes to milk and vanilla! LOVE IT! Loove it! So much depth to it!

Boy, that is dullsville compared to the commercial for Heat! Looks like they cut her budget WAY down.

And don’t be in suspense…I haven’t even snagged a sample yet! Could be weeks!

I smelled this in a magazine and all I could think of was, “How ’bout a nice Hawaiian punch?” What a blatant copy of that so-called drink. Fruity is one thing, but this was ridiculous. I hope it smells better on the wrist. The bottle doesn’t impress me much, but it is different.
