Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 23 May 2011 20 Comments

Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! perfume

Marc Jacobs will launch Oh, Lola!, a new flanker to 2009's Lola fragrance for women, in July. Oh, Lola! is described as lively and playful.

The notes feature wild strawberry, pear, raspberry, peony, sandalwood and vanilla.

Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette Parfum. (via parfumerie.nl, lourens.nl)

Update: Oh, Lola! is a sparkling fruity floral, and is sweeter than the original Lola. The perfumers are Calice Becker and Yann Vasnier. Additional notes include magnolia, cyclamen, tonka bean. In the US, it will be exclusive to Bloomingdales for one month. (via wwd)

Sounds like one of those fruit-punch-Escada-like summerversions. YAK! I think I’ll pass.

It does, sort of, but bet it will just be a lighter, fruitier Lola.

i’m kind of looking forward to that…. the original Lola was rather cloying, imo

Could be drier, I guess? Or lighter, at least.

The Escada LE summer releases are some of my fave guilty pleasures and I really liked Lola. Given the listed notes, I think this sounds lovely, particularly since I like berries, pear and red fruits. I hope it is a sample option through Sephora when it’s released as I’d love to try it.

When you test at Sephora, try also Aura by Swarovski. I found it very berry-like (raspberries) with a whisper in the drydown to Miss Dior Cherie.

Oh, Lola! Made me think of the Kinks’ song (which now I can’t forget)

Me too. Love the bottle and the name. Time will tell about the juice, I’ll definitely be trying it.

I’m still hoping for a Lola flanker with a champagne/cherry cola accord, in tribute to the Kinks.

Until that happens, not much here to interest me (aside from the bottle).

I think this actually sounds quite good – I loved the original Lola, but it seems a bit too rich for day-to-day wear in my (stinking hot) summers. This might be a nice alternative. Have tried a few pear fragrances that worked quite well, so this one is on the list.
