They did a nice job on these, although wish they were a little longer & more detailed, esp on the distillation.

I’ll bet the guy driving that machine NEVER gets sick! The volatile oils released by lavender are extremely healing and a great boost to the immune system.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t have pollen allergies ;-)

I just checked, and apparently lavender is pollinated by bees. Supposedly, most allergy-inducing plants are those that are wind-pollinated, not insect-pollinated. That is because the pollen of wind-pollinated plants is lighter, smaller particles, which are easily inhaled into the lungs. Plants that are pollinated by insects have heavier pollen, too heavy to be carried by the wind, and therefore not easily carried into the lungs either.

OK – after watching the immortelle video, I suddenly want that woman’s job. Must have something to do with being cooped up all winter, working in front of a computer!

I recently read that there’s an Oregon Lavender Festival each summer, in July I think? I might have to drive out east to enjoy that this year. . .

I’ve been to lavaner museum http://www.thelavendermuseum.com/lavender.php. It is really beautiful and it covers everything. And they teach you how to differentiate between true lavander and lavandin. They have an opposite effects, first is calming and the lavandin is invigorating and can easily cause headaches. The later is used in low quality perfumes and soaps and it gets into your nose differently like true lavander it is rather annoying.
