Lola again!! Im so sick of it. I still LOVE MJ though!! And I’m very glad Artisan won. Thats a good one. I like it more than Grey Vetiver. And Black Star? It has no personality whatsoever. Was Halle nominated? That should have won. : )

Artisan deserved it, agree! Good scent AND good bottle. And yes, Halle was in there…and deserved to win way before Avril Lavigne.

I agree, Artisan is a wonderful scent.

Geez…Ok, I have to admit that I have a bottle of Lola. But I blame it on the bottle (and I think you can blame all these awards and nominations on the bottle too..)

Because the juice itself, well, is nothing more extraordinary than any other pretty little pink-peppery, sweet, grapefruity thing in the stores theses days.

    But the bottle? Genius.

The bottle is genius. Daisy did very well in its award season, and Lola is mopping up this one.

Would be fun to see if an aromatic gin, properly packaged in a gloriously designed perfume bottle, would sell like mad and win prizes. “The fresh, clean smell of juniper with middle notes of pepper and secret herbs on a base of clean ethanol notes.”

LOL! If I had a pile of money sitting around I’d test that out.

I like Artisan and the bottle is pretty cool–have a bottle, good stuff. Never sniffed the Avril L. one.
But I did make a point of testing (on SKIN even) Lola –on me it was dry tonka and musk….not a wisp of grapefruit after the initial slightly citrus twang in the first few seconds….I don’t recall seeing any mention of orris root in the notes but maybe my nose was imagining the woody iris note I kept picking up. And in person—I thought the bottle was kind of neat. In person, I liked both bottle and fragrance much more than I had expected to! I didn’t like it well enough to buy a bottle but if a bottle landed mysteriously in my lap–I’d wear it .

Oh, Lola is a very pleasant scent. I’d wear it w/o embarrassment too. Just don’t think it is so interesting as to sweep the 2010 awards season, but hey, if Daisy could do it, so can Lola!

Yay Artisan! Someone mentioned bottle design and all three of these are pretty unusual (though AV Black Star is an Angel rip off). Do they consider the bottle when judging or just the juice?

I do not know CEW’s criteria, and interestingly enough, while many of the big awards programs describe their procedures online, none of them (to my knowledge) explain their criteria.

What do people think of JV Artisan Black? I just urged my brother to buy a bottle based on just one spray and positive comments about Artisan… At the time it smelled great, even better than the original, but I’d like to know what people think…

I liked it, but liked the original better.
