Slave to love

Posted by Robin on 6 May 2010 19 Comments

Actor James Franco for the new Gucci by Gucci Sport. Anyone recognize the music? I think it's someone or another covering Bryan Ferry's Slave to Love.

The music is Roisin Murphy – Slave To Love. She’s an Irish singer/songwriter, found fame with Moloko, now gone solo. She’s well known in the UK.

Are you sure? She did the last one:

…but this one sounded different. Maybe I’m dreaming & it is the same!

“In the video, Franco repeats the words of the Bryan Ferry song, “Slave to Love.” The commercial plays a cover of the song by the talented Róisín Murphy…”—http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/james-franco-gucci-tv
the only reson I’m posting this quote is to show the what I feel is the awesomeness of Google’s semantic web search. The second hit was this one for a search titled “gucci james franco song”
I’m constantly amazed by the power of semantic search.

It’s really hard to remember how grim it was before Google…

Yes I’m sure :) The previous might sound a bit different, like a remix or something, or just another part of the song. But I’m sure it’s her version.

Ditto. Why doesn’t Starbucks deliver?? I’d pay $10 for a nice latte right now.

Me too. I don’t even have one where I live, but I wish I could just order by phone or online. Worked night shift last night, slept like a log, woke up about an hour ago ( 5 PM here in Europe). Still tired.

Okay, I give in, James Franco is gorgeous. But under my breath I mutter ‘yet ANOTHER new sport frag?’ I don’t care how gorgeous he is, I will not be lured in.

James Franco is going for his PhD in English at Yale University. And he is gorgeous. And hilarious.

He is going to marry me, obviously.

I forgot to mention the fragrance! If James Franco wears it, I’ll give it a chance. I suppose. ;)

I really like the opening of Sport but within 2 mins it starts to smell just like everything else. I actually have never had a sports cologne so maybe I’ll give in. It isnt bad at all but it smells like everything else. I dont have everything else so I might just get me a bottle. Might. And he is a very handsome guy. BUT, my sister graduated from UCLA last yr and he was suppose to be the guest speaker and he bailed on them!!! I thought it was pretty messed up. Plus my mom was really excited to see him bcuz hes one of her many actor boyfriends!! LOL!

It’s probably a rhetorical question, but you’ve all seen this, right? (Created & uploaded by the man himself!)
