You give me fever

Posted by Robin on 30 December 2009 21 Comments

The full length (30 seconds) commercial for Beyoncé Heat. It's pretty much the same as the teaser but longer.

How can you say it’s pretty much the same? This one is so much more complex 😛

HA! I lose patience with this kind of faux writhing pretty quickly, so I liked the 11 second version better.

The most beautiful woman in the world with an Ocean full of talent. I love her to death and I can’t wait for her scent!

She really is beautiful! Wish she’d done a more interesting commercial.

Dull Ad! Comme on Beyonce, we’ve already seen, by your videos, that you can do much better than this

I ought to go watch her videos, but too lazy. Still, I’m sure somebody could have come up with something better than this. As is so often the case when people try to look sexy, she looks more bored (and/or drugged) than sexy.

Yep. What happened to the sexy femme fatale as opposed to the lackadaisical, bordering on comatose/deceased-looking sexy? I believe fever, in this context, is supposed to imply heat and not being so languid, because then I only think of the flu which is definitely not sexy. I don’t get this trend.

Her ad for Armani Diamonds is much, much better, although even in that one I think she looks sexiest mostly when she isn’t trying to look sexy.

The ad looks like it was inspired by To Live and Die in LA – great 80’s film. I can’t find a video of the dance scene, but it’s very similar.

Is “sexy” the only thing she can do? What a lame role model.

      Nope, she can sing!

Man, I haven’t seen suck awful lipsyncing since the old Avengers episodes. She can sing but she can’t speak one trite little line?

I do like Beyonce’s voice but she just rubs me the wrong way. “I want to be a role model but look how SEXY I am!” She’s too many people.

She doesn’t rub me any particular way, maybe because I’ve only seen her twice.

I loved the Covet commercial. The Fantasy one was cute too.

    Love Beyonce to death, but:

    1. She looks so shiny it’s as if she took a dip in a vat of oil at her local KFC, and

    2. “Fever” has been reduced to nothing more than throaty, husky, faux-sultry sounds. Someone hand her a throat lozenge.

    Disappointingly uninspired ad.
