Posted by Robin on 3 December 2009 62 Comments

Jennifer Lopez J Lo Blue Glow

Jennifer Lopez will launch J Lo Blue Glow, a new limited edition flanker to 2002's J Lo Glow for women, in February.

The fresh marine fruity floral fragrance features notes of mangosteen, Valencia orange, redcurrant blossom, water lily, vintage rose, vanilla orchid, shimmering water accord, cedar, mahogany wood, florymoss (a green floral mossy note from Givaudan) and tonka bean.

Jennifer Lopez Blue Glow by J Lo will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching body lotion. (via moodiereport, cosmeticsinternational)

Another aquatic that just doesn’t grab me. I went through my Coolwater phase in my late teens, and ever since then I can’t bring myself to wear them again. Not that I’ve found one I want to wear. Ah well. Money saved.

It doesn’t appeal, but I’ll try it. Who knows.

Scrolling past the image, I actually *thought* it was about a Cool Water flanker. Bottle shape + colour = mix-up.

OMG Coolwater Woman is one of my all-time faves! If this smells similar to it, I might not be able to resist getting a FB!

I might have to try this. I quite liked the original Glow (or was it Miami Glow? I can’t recall) although the dry down didn’t love me, at least the top and middle notes were nice and summery. It might be a good pick-me-up in February.

I liked Glow AND Miami Glow. This one, hard to say. I don’t usually like marine and I don’t usually like fruity floral.

I liked Miami Glow as well, great summer beachy fragrance. Although, my teenage daughter scoffed it off my dresser and I never seen it again LOL. My mom was and still is a huge fan of the original Glow.

Wasn’t Miami Glow a fruity floral? I actually liked the beachy-ness of it, and I don’t usually adore beachy note… oh, who am I kidding? I’m a total slut for coconut (that sentence is copyrighted by me, do not try to steal it).

I think that one wasn’t so widely distributed as the others. I never saw it either. Maybe it was only in mass market? Can’t remember.

This one did show up in Adelaide and I liked it, almost bought and my friend had to put her hands on me and drag me out of the store as I was ‘on a budget’ at the time – now I’m wondering if I should have just got it and to hell with the budget!

This my first post here .You know what this is the first JLO fragrance I have no interest in trying.I have My Glow and its nice but doesn’t last long. But, this one is not for me I don’t like marine fragrances. Its okay as a house scent but not as a perfume for me personally.I am getting a bit tired of all the flankers with Glow. But visually the bottle is attractive but this screams Cool Water to me so I will pass on this.

    “…vanilla orchid…mahogany wood…”

I’ve noticed those two accords listed in many new, mid-level releases; in the price range of “Caswell-Massey”, “Bath & Bodyworks”, “The Body Shop”, “Yves Rocher” and many new celebrity fragrances. And “cedar” has really become popular, with many modern ones smelling like they were born from a particularily heated union between “Iso E Super” and “Pom-apple”.

I wonder if the “Mahogany Wood” accord listed in “Blue Glow”, is that same powdery-dry, vetiver-like blend you can smell running through so many new releases (including the new bunch from D&G and new ones from Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs)? And can we allow the possiblity for a little romance between “Blue Glow” and “Alien” to happen, by stocking them together? I think “Alien” has felt like an outcast amongst the “Pink/Miss” this and “Sheer/Nude” that, for much too long ;)…

I notice mahogany (or whatever aromachemical Givaudan uses to approximate it) note listed when they’ve given something a bit of darkness in the base while still keeping something absolutely clean.

Vanilla orchid, of course, is just silly: all real vanilla comes from the “vanilla orchid”. But it isn’t as silly as the recent penchant for adding “petals” to all sorts of floral notes, as in “rose petals” or “jasmine petals”. Duh.

Deseo is my favorite from her. I have 2 bottles. But I can see if it didnt sell as well as Glow and Live. It wasnt very youth oriented and sorry J.Lo but thats ure audience. I think thats why With Love and Inspire didnt do very well. All theyre audiences want are fruity fruity cake and more fruity. Its to bad cuz Id luv for celebs to branch out and make more sophisticated scents. Poor SJP too. : (

I tried Blue Glow today and I really liked it. It kinda smells like D&G L’Imperatrice which I love. The mangosteen and the orange in the top notes!! Such a yummy tartness!! I could smell the mossy note in it bottle and I really really like it!! I prefer it over her Love @ 1st, After Dark, Luxe, and My Glow. I need to get me a bottle soon. : )

Hmm I kinda like the perfume. But don’t like the bottle, should be frosted gradient blue, the box could b nicer too! I kinda like sunkissed glow packaging looks elegant n expensive.
I got this for my bday today n I love it! The dry down is bit too home fragrance but the top n mid notes is great!

Another idea myb should call it Midnight Glow hahaha..

And yes, enuf with the glow! Do something new or do deseo flanker! Love deseo n last long too!

I guess she has a new one coming out in the fall called Love & Glamour. She said its a “beautiful fresh scent, clean but juicy”. So its another fruity floral. LOL! I like JLOs scents. The only 2 i didnt really care for where Love @ 1st Glow and My Glow. I wonder what the bottles gonna look like? Its to bad there weren’t any Deseo flankers. I have Deseo Forever. Its just a lighter fruitier Deseo. I prefer the original. : )
