As a brazilian, is very strange to see a perfume that contains… caipirinha! how would be the result? :)
Considering this is a drink made with vodka, sugar and lemon!

It just means that they've come up with some accord (or single aromachemical, I don't know) that they think smells like a caipirinha, that's all! And they're not the first to use the “note”…

Good point and in fact the whole thing seems to have a booze theme – a bit weird when you consider that it's marketed to teenagers!

I am looking at the last paragraph in your post, with other recent releases from CK and I am thinking shouldn't there be a limit on how many flankers a brand can put out in a year? LOL

I don't know…doubt IN2U sold as well as Opium or CK One, but guessing it sold well enough!

Seriously — CK is nowhere near the worst! I ought to do a count, but think YSL might win.

Yep, splash on liberally, teens, then head out for a date. And when the nice policeman pulls you over, explain that the smell of booze is just an “appletini accord.” Just another fruity floral cocktail fragrance. Next!

While I'm sure there's a reason why cK is bringing our these two (they are obviously thinking about turnovers)…I'm not sure if the marketing people really thought about the implications of the names.

To be honest when I read the new names I immediately thought that some consumers might read the names like “ck into you heat for him” or “ck into you heat for her”, as if these are microwave dinners. (The shiny packaging looks like chic frozen food packaging IMHO.) Also, anything that further reminds me of u brew is just wrong as a fragrance flanker.

I hope I'm not being difficult–it's just what crosses my mind when I read the info.

Don't you see kind of a trend to use trendy alcoholic drinks in new fragrances?

Eg: Guerlain Homme contains Mojito, CK IN2U Caipirinha…

Cool Water has 19 fragrances including the women's versions.

The original Cool Water has 10 flankers.

I'm also brazilian, and don't think is so strange. If I'm not wrong, Bahiana, by Maitre Parfumeur et gantier, uses this combination.

Yes, absolutely — although it's not all that new. Bear in mind that Lubin made Gin Fizz back in the 1950s, and Caron had a champagne-inspired fragrance even earlier than that, and who knows what else…I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

That's impressive! But still guess YSL can beat it w/ flankers for Paris & Opium.

LOL at “chic frozen food packaging” — I don't like the packaging either. The original white bottles were much cuter.

The House Of Calvin is assuredly getting on my last good nerve with all these ridiculous Flankers! JESUS TO PIECES! How many do they intend on producing? just churn out trifle after cheap smelling trifle! it's not even comical any longer… Secret Obsession was nice, but it was a re-arrangement of Obsession! and not a very Inspired one at that! and all those Ck Summer Colognes… BLECH! then every season some new version of the other fragrances too… surprised there isn't a Secret Obsession one coming, sure there will be an Eternity one this spring as well. These Companies have become Soulless Shills for Worthless Product and it Besmirches then real ART of Fragrance Making, and god alone, Perfumery, TRUE PERFUMERY is a VERY High art, this just makes me mad! If they took the time to even make the things smell even GOOD i'd be ok, but they are almost all just Cheap, Linear, Classless, Intractable, Synthetic Abominations! BAH HUMBUG!

I was so curious about Bahiana because of your excellent coments about it and because of the notes. I got a sample with a friend, and when i used the scent i thought it was so ok. A little citrusy, a little boozy, but so faint that within 3 hours i could barely detect it :(

Yeah, it is not a powerhouse. It does do better sprayed on lavishly than not, but still, it isn't a powerhouse. Still like it for a summery thing :-)

It's like many sheer citrusy things — a little dab doesn't do it justice. But as I said, it isn't a powerhouse in any case, and MPG isn't cheap. I've almost bought it any number of times, but never followed through. Some day I'll find it on sale!

I really REALLY want to LOVE the juice !
Because the bottle is so gorgeous !!!
Man,, but the scent is boring and nothing new.
I even sprayed it on my skin and tried to smell it
as much as possible to convince myself to like it.
    But,, I can’t :(

What a gorgeous bottle with the lame scent !
