Elizabeth Arden Pretty ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 15 December 2008 11 Comments

Elizabeth Arden Pretty fragranceElizabeth Arden will launch Pretty, a new fragrance for women, this coming March. Pretty is a floral fragrance that "celebrates the ritual of getting ready to go out".

Pretty was developed by perfumer Claude Dir, and includes notes of mandarin orpur, orange blossom, peach nectar, petalia (a new Givaudan molecule), star jasmine, pink iris, white peony, fluffy musk, jacaranda wood and creamy amber.

Elizabeth Arden Pretty will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products; the bottle design was inspired by a bud vase. (quote via moodiereport, additional information via wwd)

Other recent launches from Elizabeth Arden: Mediterranean Breeze, Green Tea Lotus, Red Door Shimmer.

I'm sure it's a nice scent, but in this cold weather, it's difficult to read about light spring flowers! I'm all about heavy amber suede & vanilla.

I tried Googling 'mandarin orpur', and the first thing to come up was…this page! Are Google quick or what?

But you might be ready for it come March — I'll be quite done with winter then, myself!

I knew I'd seen it mentioned somewhere recently…it was here! I do like that ad – I'm a hopeless sucker for anything with lots of pretty flowers. And I wonder what 'petalia' will smell like? Just hope Pretty is nothing like Pleasures, which I don't like (especially Pleasures Delight, which brought me close to projectile vomiting on Selfridge's floor).

It really is a pretty ad. I like Pleasures — don't own it, but think it's so well done. But the world doesn't need another one ;-)
