Not sure I can resist something called Sequoia, tree hugger that I am. I've been reaching for CdG Sequoia a lot lately, but I imagine that this does not have the complexity. Still, it's probably worth buying, considering that Demeter does such a great job with recreating authentic smells.

I'd love to try Giant Sequoia! I like Demeter's stuff for their authentic smell too – and sequoia sounds like a must-try to me. Demeter is the great cheap-thrill brand to me.

This actually landed at my local Marshall's a few weeks ago, and I was excited to try it on. Maybe it was a bad batch or something, because it didn't smell anything like I would've expected. Just smelled very weird. And then any trace of scent disappeared within 10 minutes.

Oops, I'm sorry, I didn't specify – it was the Sequoia.

I also had the chance to sample Giant Sequoia at Marshall's within the last couple of months. It was thin and vaguely woody, nothing big or evergreen or majestic about it, which is what I had imagined it would smell like. It didn't make much of an impression. Nothing like the wonderful CdG Sequoia.

…..and at mine, too. Smelled empty and absent. Really nothing there – a disappointment. Beeswax and Apple Blossom were right next to this bottle and were fine, fun, and very Demeter-y. Maybe the Sequoia has had a bad batch…..

The CdG is really a great scent. Would like to smell this new one, but don't see how it can compete at this price.

So agree on the “great cheap-thrill brand” — they're fun, they're cheap, and you can buy in mini bottles. Can't ask for more than that.

Schmifty, they don't tend to last, but would have hoped for more than “weird” :-(

Aha, sounds like I need to try Beeswax! Thanks.

Same here. It was kind of thin and disappointing. Not at all what I thought something called “Sequoia” would smell like.

Pure Soap did smell like just like Ivory soap!

Those who remember my comments awhile back about Beeswax will no doubt be quite surprised that I left Marshall's with a bottle… What can I say? It won me over. :)

    Smelling like chocolate, cool.

Smelling like chocolate and peanut butter? Maybe not so cool….

Pure Soap is really right on target, agree! Haven't yet smelled Beeswax, but will try to.

I don't know — I mean, yeah, it isn't something you'd wear to attract others so to speak, but I think of Demeter as the go-to line for “fun”. Reeses could be fun :-)
