Demeter Necco Sweethearts ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 10 January 2008 21 Comments

Demeter Necco Sweethearts Call Me perfumeDemeter has launched a new candy-inspired collection, the Necco Sweethearts. The set includes 3 floral fragrances inspired by Necco's Sweethearts Conversation Hearts:

Call Me (shown) ~ "An unusual combination of lemon zest, jasmine, honeysuckle, water lotus and white rose, this scent is simply irresistible to anyone who comes in contact with it."

Be My Valentine ~ "A unique, sparkling scent with peach skin, strawberry leaf, caramelized sugar and ylang ylang that captures the magic of Valentine’s Day itself in a bottle, all year around."

Love Me ~ "The most delicate of the Necco Sweethearts, this is a transparent and light fruity floral containing orange, lemon, bergamot, peach, white rose, ylang, subtle skin musk and soft vanilla, to be shared, but only up close and personal."

The Demeter Necco Sweethearts are available in 15 ml Splash ($5), 30 ($20) or 120 ($39.50) ml Cologne Spray, and in matching bath & body products. (via demeterfragrance, with thanks to MagicMarti for the tip!)

More candy from Demeter: the Jelly Belly collection.

These would be so cute to get my daughters for Valentines! I had such a good experience with Demeter over the holidays-their customer service people were so nice!

I LOVE the mini bottles – just the right size (and price!).

**I finally came up with a solution for applying splashes and dab samples – coffee staws! I cut those little straws you stir your coffee with in half and use it as a disposable pipette. Clean and cheap! :)

Oh, they'd be a perfect VD present for a young girl :-)

Rose that is is not only a good idea, it is a very good idea: using coffee staws to apply a scent !! It is indeed clean and it is cheap! This person would never have come up with this idea.

Those coffee straws could be also good to use to apply cream from a pot and eye cream from a tiny pot, without using too much…

You could design your own and change them a bit to your liking and put them on the market. They will be as usefull and as much used as toothpicks..:D

I know what you mean — I don't love those little candy hearts either! But unlike the Jelly Belly set, these don't sound like they're trying to evoke the actual candies.

I did like those candies and I still do. Too bad that the colors are not as 'bazookalike' as they once were.. Do you all remember Bazooka Chewing gum? So hot pink.

I cup of vanilla icecream, tiny candy hearts and whipped cream and cherry sause poured over it. What more can a girl like for Valentine's Day?

Well…a few decennia ago of course..

    Sigh..

Maybe she would like fresh flowers, this perfume and the candy hearts on a screansaver..

What are you talking about?!? I was thinking of getting them for myself! :) I love the sound of these, I love Necco wafers and hearts, and I always buy a bag when they hit the stores this time of year. It's fun to make people read them out loud. But seriously, you are right, these are not age-appropriate for some of us.

Rose – Coffee straws is genius, btw. Excuse me while I run down to the lunch room to steal a handful.

OK. This is going to sound crazy. But every time I wear Black Orchid Voile de Fleur, the drydown reminds me of Necco wafers–you know that dusty, not too sweet scent. Funny that Demeter is now coming out with these scents based on the Necco hearts.

Hey, I was not making an age appropriate categorization, but was only responding to Rose above saying she'd get them for her daughter!

That is funny — I just sprayed something on the other day and thought: PEZ! Can't remember what it was.

I'm wondering what candy they'll do next — and I'm voting for Mounds & Heath bars & stuff like that.

I'm voting Almond Joy for a fragrance. :) And these look adorable! Five dollar splash bottles- eek! I may have to purchase these… And that coffee straw idea is BRILLIANT. I may have to *ahem* borrow some from school. :)

Oops, sorry. Hope you understood I was trying to be funny, even if it came across as cranky. I think my curmudgeon hat was on too tight yesterday.

Oh, no, I'm sorry, that sounded defensive but wasn't meant that way — was not thinking you were cranky at all!

I think the current rule is that everybody has to be nice, including me. When I can…
