hehe… crossing that stream on a Triumph Bonneville is an adventure indeed. Looks good though.

Funny, I wouldn't think to scent myself with cologne when I'm racing across the countryside on a motorcycle or climbing mountains. Then again, I'm no Ewan McGregor.

It's ridiculous. This says absolutely nothing.
OK, he has a nice accent, but it would have been much better without words. The music is nice and the araucaria trees (those candle-holder-shaped ones) make it look extremely exotic, at least for Europeans.

I think it was shot in Brazil — lovely scenery, anyway. Do you suppose they airlifted the bike the rest of the way across after they got the shot, LOL?

HA — not the first thing you'd put in your rucksack?

Very surprised none of the ladies who commented on his print ad have shown up today to drool over EG again…you guys are a way tougher audience!

They screened a TV documentary here in the UK, about Ewen's trip to Brazil with a well-known asurvival expert called Ray Mears. I think it had something to do with preparations for the latest motorbike adventure through Africa that he's doing. I believe that the Davidoff ad was filmed at some point on that trip? Anyway, he really can ride a motorbike (round the world, after all), and he really did rough it across rain-forest and mountains for days. I'm not much of an EMcG fan, but I do think he's genuinely in love with motorbikes and adventure, so I feel I must defend him!

Oh, I'm a fan, so I'm not criticizing poor EM… I just want to know if he really freshened up with Davidoff during those romps in the rainforest and across the Sertao. Ha!

A silly ad no doubt, but Ewan is still yummy!

The silliest thing is: you'd like to enjoy the scents of the forest on such a trip instead of a perfume, wouldn't you? And, come on, they really didn't have to show the bottle in his rucksack. Could be a little more abstract…

Yes, I think the press materials included some info about that, which of course I've already forgotten ;-)

I'm one of the droolers who hasn't been able to watch this yet (my modem at home died an untimely death and is being replaced today). Will comment on the lovely EM later! :)

Ah then, I think you'll find it drool-worthy once you get a new modem!

Totally agree. The bike featured in this video looks very cool, and I think he actually owns one too… it's just not the sort of bike you'd take on a trip around the world. I think he used a BMW R1150GS Adventure for that purpose. The Triumph has classic looks and a big 'cinematic heritage' (Marlon Brando, Steve McQueen, Richard Gere), so it makes sense to use it in a commercial.

Ok, it was a leeeetle cheesy. But he is still dreamy and the landscapes were beautiful. I'd put him in my rucksack anyday. sigh.

Can't argue w/ cheesy, but he can get away with it, I'd say!
