Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil, Aftelier Cognac ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 10 March 2007 8 Comments

Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil Skinscent fragranceAftelier Cognanc perfume

Estee Lauder will launch the Tom Ford Estēe Lauder Collection for Summer 2007 this coming April. Last year's collection included Azurée Body Oil Spray, a modern reinterpretation of the 1969 classic fragrance inspired by "the Mediterranean near Mrs. Estée Lauder's vacation home in Cap d'Antibes, off the coast of France".

Those of you who missed out on the Azurée Body Oil last year (it sold out quickly) will get another chance, as it returns in this year's collection. In addition, look for two new forms of the scent: azurēe soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent and azurēe soleil Body Lotion. All three are...

...built around a heart of “tiare milk” — Tahitian Gardenia petals steeped in coconut oil — wrapped in layers of sun drenched orangeflower buds, jasmine, magnolia petals and droplets of myrrh, evoking the sensation of a golden afternoon on warm sand. Brightened with Sicilian bergamot and mandarin, the scent’s rich warmth is sustained with a dash of luxurious amber enhanced by the elegance of sandalwood, vetiver, luscious caramel and nourishing coconut cream.

The Body Oil will be $29.50; azurēe soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent 50 ml ($38), 100 ml ($49.50) or 250 ml ($68); azurēe soleil Body Lotion, 200 ml for $29.50. (via Estee Lauder) Update: see a review of Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil.

Cognac is the latest perfume release from natural perfume house Aftelier:

Cognac is light and fresh with notes of cognac, fresh ginger, blood orange, and olive absolute in organic grape alcohol. Delicious! Mandy [Aftel] was inspired to create a perfume around the aroma of cognac combining it with the freshness of ginger and the raspberry aroma of blood oranges contrasted with the fruity heaviness of olive absolute. Cognac was created as the polar opposite to Tango. Tango is winter and fall. Cognac is spring and summer. Tango is night and sensuality: Cognac is day and lightness.

Aftelier Cognac is $140 for 1/2 oz perfume; $25 for a 2 ml mini. (via Aftelier newsletter)

If one has access to a outlet mall, The Cosmetics Company Store is carrying the line, including the body oil, for much less. Personally I'm addicted.

So Azuree still won't be a “proper” fragrance? What I mean is, it is not an EDT or an EDP. But of course Eau Fraiche may be great in summer.
Also, although the notes of Cognac sound fantastic, I have never thought of cognac as of a day/lightness thing. Hmm.

Oh thanks, I have one not too far away and will have to check there! I'm surprised the fragrance ended up there at all, it disappeared from all the malls near me in short order.

That's right M. But maybe some day? The body lotion might also be great for layering.

    And agree on the Cognac!

I was sure the Azuree Oil would return this summer. Love it when I'm right.

Now what will they do to top it next summer?

The “Cognac” release cracks me up! Many “spirited” drinks have lovely scents, but it's a different thing altogether to smell like you awoke drenched in the stuff. However, with spicy orange and ginger…

The notes do sound so lovely though!
