This is the first advertising image I've seen for the upcoming Guerlain Insolence, due for launch in mid-August and fronted by actress Hilary Swank. (via aufeminin)

can't wait to try Insolence, but I am not hopeful since I don't like the Swank, the ad or the bottle…you never know though 🙂
Ooh, look at her hair extensions! LOL!
Can't wait to try this!
Hugs!
M, I detest the ad, but then, I'm not the “younger audience” they are going for so what do I know…
LOL — I just figured they drew in the thick lustrous curls with photoshop or something 😉
Any idea on what the notes are in Insolence? I sorta like the bottle.
Yeah the ad is dopey looking : )
Click on the link to “Guerlain Insolence” in the article and you'll see the list of notes…
Ah… silly me, didn't think to follow the link.
Eh… another fruity floral. Well, I guess we'll see how it turns out when it's released. I hope I like it more than L'Instant, and its variations which are promoted to death!
Yep, another fruity floral…what else, LOL?
This is truly an odd scent. You do get a sense of some berry mix…in a waxy sort of way. There's something almost plasticine about it. It's certainly interesting, although I'm not sure if I could wear it around for any period of time. A pal of mine said it reminded her of a walk through a dollar store, i.e., cheap plastic. Of course, she's just found out she's pregnant, so that may have something to do with how it smelled to her!
I just reviewed it today…the top notes are rather harsh, but otherwise I liked it much better than your friend 🙂
I actually liked it much better than her, too! I think she was too hard on the poor thing. She's strictly an “Obsession”, “Dune” kind of gal, anyhow (she hates honey-esqe scents, although she fell for Guerlain's “Shalimar' a couple of years back. )
The top notes were rather harsh for me too. It was disconcerting enough to almost put me off the fragrance completely. When I gave it a moment, however, it dried down into something creamy (I've always loved that about Guerlain scents. No matter where you travel with them, they always go back to that comforting honeyed-skin base.”Guerlainade” I believe it's called.)
I think it smelled sort of plastic-y to my nose, because it stood apart from the loads of super metallic, overdry scents currently on the market. It wasn't bad for me, just very unusual and interesting—albeit, unusual enough that it would distract me as a “regular”. I say that now, of course. Next I'll be toting this scent in a couple of months. I've become a pathological chameleon in search of a new signature scent. I'm even considering revisiting “Creed” options ;D…
(By the way, I love your blog! I appreciate your gracious–and patient– remarks to my long…rambling…responses.)
There are lots of comments now under the Insolence review — you might want to take a peek. It looks like it has found quite a few fans.
I long ago gave up on finding a signature scent — it is too restrictive 🙂 And so glad you like the blog!
I LOOOOOOOOOVE Hilary, but this perfume smells like somethin an old woman would wear. It isn't fruity at all. Kinda muskyish
We are complete opposites: I know almost nothing about Hilary, but liked the fragrance 🙂
