Hermès has launched Ginseng Biloba, a new fragrance in the brand's luxury Hermessence line.
"I wanted to create an Hermessence that strongly evokes curves and graphic lines," says Hermès perfumer Christine Nagel of Ginseng Biloba about her latest olfactory composition. At the heart of this eau de parfum, sinuous ginseng roots intertwine with winding gingko biloba leaves. When the two come together, their undulations create a woody fragrance trail, as precious and shimmering as a golden thread.
Ginseng Biloba Eau de Parfum combines the textured scents of ginseng root with luminous notes of gingko biloba. The woody, radiant fragrance trail suits both men and women.
Hermès Ginseng Biloba is available in 15, 100 and 200 ml Eau de Parfum (the two larger bottles are refillable; the refill is 200 ml).

I would totally try this. And good for Hermes for making ginseng the centerpiece. I think we can use more ginseng frags, in fact I dunno if I can name any others that use it.
I would try it for sure, which is not the same as saying I will take the time to go to the mall… I am not a massive Nagel fan but I did like some of her Hermessences.
I’m really interested in trying this one. I used some eye cream last year that had more scent than I usually like in my skincare products, but I loved the smell. It smelled like ginseng.
I’m really interested. Ginseng sounds so good. I love ginseng tea, candy etc. Love herbal, medicinal, love shimmering gold and all that goodness. Love love love.
One thing I don’t love is how some of these brands and designers start to come up with crazy things for stories behind some of these fragrances. I hope I don’t make anyone mad here (please just my humble opinion) that when I started to read the paper: “I wanted to create an Hermessence that strongly evokes curves and graphic lines”… I rolled my eyes instantly. Ok… Great. Sounds good. Graphic lines and curves… Oh give me a break.

Luminous notes of gingko biloba??? I don’t think Nagel has ever seen/smelled a real gingko tree. As someone who lives in a place where there are lots of gingko trees in the streets, I can only think of the excruciatingly horrible fermented shit smell of gingko seeds, especially when they fall on the ground and get trampled all over. Ugh! I shudder at the thought of it.
Always excited to try a new Hermessence. Even more excited now I’ve read Bill’s comment. Hope Ms Nagel has left at least a little of the rank in with the beauty.
