It's Memorial Day weekend — summer at last! maybe! my furnace turned on this morning! — and we're celebrating the holiday with our same old open thread poll.
Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, the fragrance you're thinking will be your most-worn this coming summer (or winter), whatever. And if you have a friend or family member who died while serving in the armed forces, and you want to tell us about them, please do.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

In the mood for the high spirits of YSL Yvresse, so that’s what I’m wearing. Pre-2001, so it still has at least some oakmoss in it, thank goodness.
Yay for proper oakmoss!
A photo I would like to sink into, snuggle down in, and have a nice nap, complete with a good dream. 😴
I’m taking a leaf from Foxbins’ book today and going for a (professional) haircut that will be a drastic change from what I’ve been sporting for the last 40 years, so wish me luck!
As for perfume, I was influenced by the post below 👇🏼 and am now wearing Bronze Goddess for what is a gorgeous sunny day in the 70’s.
Remembering all the US men and women who gave their all for an ungrateful, disrespectful government. We the people will never forget you and pray you Rest in Peace. 🕊️
Fingers crossed for your proper haircut!
I need one badly myself, hopefully next week.
Good luck with the haircut! I hope you love it.
For our next community project…
5/29: Shaken Not Stirred Friday: for Ian Fleming’s birthday (on Thursday the 28th), honor the James Bond character howsoever you like. You can repeat the theme of a 2008 poll (name your favorite James Bond actor (the choices, for anyone who can’t remember the entire line-up: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig) and what fragrance you think their version of Bond would wear) or any of the questions from a 2018 followup we did for Sean Connery’s birthday, you can scent your favorite Bond movie, you can take inspiration from a specific film locale or character, whatever you like. Thanks go to Lovestosmellgood for the idea!
You can see that with the proper links here:

And will add…you are welcome of course to use the books and not the movies as inspiration.
Memorial Day weekend — our debt to the heroic men and brave women who serve our country can never truly be repaid. They have earned our everlasting gratitude, and America will always remember their sacrifice.
If I owned Santa Maria Novella Melograno, I think I’d wear it for Casino Royale — it’s said to be the perfume for Vesper in the film. Has anyone here smelled it? Do I need to?
I’m going to look up the notes and see whether I already own anything with a similar feel.
It’s shaping up to be a gray, rainy weekend here, but we’re making the best of it: dim sum at a favorite restaurant, then I hired a teacher to teach our family mahjong. After that, hockey playoffs on TV with the kids.
