Happy Friday all! It's also Waitangi Day, Bob Marley’s birthday and National Frozen Yogurt Day. Plus, it's the opening day of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. Our community project for today: do absolutely whatever you like with the Winter Olympics theme: scent a winter sport? Wear something Italian to celebrate the location? Wear something to support your country's team? Or, pick a fragrance to honor your utter lack of interest in sports, or winter, or both. Thanks go to LesLiesse for the idea!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
Utter lack of interest in sports? Check. Complete disdain for winter? Check. I'm going Italian, though, in Carthusia Mediterraneo.
Reminder: on 2/13, we're doing Long Lost Love Friday...wear a beloved fragrance that has been discontinued, or a fragrance that reminds you of a beloved person, pet, possession or place. (Suggested by Old Herbaceous.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2026, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Wearing 10 Corso Como for the CP.
Happy Friday! 🌻
Delightful!
Indeed! It is a wonderful scent, sadly discontinued.
Sadly. I still have the solid perfume in the box.
Yum.
😊
Such a rich, lovely incense, you smell elegant. Happy Friday back😃
Thank you Aurora! 🌹
Happy Fri-YAY, PL67! Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Thank you, Jalapeno! I will have a quiet and relaxing weekend at home. Temperatures are dropping badly this weekend, so no plans to go outside.
Hello and tgif!
Sotd is Tiziana Terenzi Bianco Puro. Because it’s Italian and winter and snow is, well, white?
I just started the K-drama Bon Apetite Your Majesty and it’s filled with food p*rn scenes and I love it! Just don’t watch before bed, lol.
Excellent reasoning 🙂
I’m weakly doing the CP with a tiny spray of Prada Paradoxe Virtual Flower, since the company is based in Milan.
My surgery recovery has been very rough and I’m having a lot of unpretty symptoms, and problems sleeping (supposedly in my sling, but it’s so awkward).
Earlier this week I was remembering the thrill and glamour of Torville and Dean’s gold-winning performance in ice dancing at the 1984 Olympics. If you were alive then you were probably watching–the world was in love with them, and their long slow and smooth execution of their moves to Ravel’s Bolero was unforgettable! I was trying to think of a Spanish or dance-themed perfume to go with that but couldn’t come up with one.
I’m so sorry you are going through this. Hugs!
I hope you start feeling better soon, Calypso!
Warm hugs 🤗
My sympathies, hope you turn a corner in being able to be comfortable soon. Knew someone who had shoulder surgery who had to sleep in a recliner for 6 weeks, which sounds incredibly difficult.
That’s exactly what I did when I had my shoulder surgery. I found it easier than getting into a bed to lay down.
I was hoping after the surgery you would feel so much better. Sorry you are having a rough time of it. Hugs to you.
Hugs Calypso! Hope you can take multiple naps each day to let your body relax and catch as many zzz’s as you can! Sending you loads of healing thoughts!
Gosh, Torvill & Dean & Bolero! Amazing. Here’s the link from Sarajevo in 1984. https://youtu.be/KNCSij0hUp8?si=ay1eMPaPe2t1dxHY
Bolero became linked with them instead of Bo Derek and the film 10. It’s interesting that all ice dancers look like T&D now.
I’m sorry you are having a rough time, Calypso. I had shoulder surgery years ago so I know what you’re going through.
So sorry about your shoulder. They’re such complicated joints and seem to be so slow to mend. I hope things go better soon.
Torville & Dean! I loved them and I remember that Bolero routine.
I hope things get easier with the recovery. My dad has had to sleep in his recliner after a couple of his injuries, and now apparently that’s just more comfortable for him than sleeping in a bed. I wouldn’t recommend it permanently (it makes travelling with him interesting), but could be a short-term solution.
I’m sorry to hear that your recovery is taking a while. I’m sure things will improve soon.
So sorry to hear about your rough recovery. Hopefully it gets at least a little better each day and kitty purrs offer some comfort. 🤗
And yes I remember that ice-dancing performance. Ice dancing is one of my favorites to watch.
Hope you feel better soon. I remember that majestic bolero performance.
I hope you can indulge in things like ice cream and pizza while recovering.
Very sorry to hear that your recovery has been a rough one so far. Sending healing vibes your way!
Sorry to hear your recovery is rough. I am thinking positive that after the rough recovery, you will be much better off.
Sending you well wishes and sorry you’ve been dealing with a not-so-good recovery, Calypso. Thanks for sharing about the ice skating duo and performance. I’m going to watch it now before bed.
That picture makes the luge look fun.
I’m in Jour de Fete, by Olivia Giocobetti. It’s a beautiful, fun, soft scent. I OD’d on Carnal Flower the other day and had to go scent free to recover-it was just a bit too much for me:)
🤣
😆😆😆
Here’s Saturday Night Live’s luge skit from last week with Alexander Skarsgaard as the coach.
https://youtu.be/ky63j4VUjSc?si=Hc5qNDGpuQQ5tJ9F
Also Jour de Fete is perfect as the Opening Ceremonies are a huge party !
OMG I missed that skit. Excellent.
Thank you everyone for your comments on my choices for the CP this week – I’ll save them for the day I’m feeling bad about myself. 😁
I read that Ukraine’s best chance of bringing home a medal is in freestyle skiing, so I wanted something fresh, airy, and graceful – very “in the air” energy.
I layered three light, fresh scents:
Obvious White Crush – snow, a blank canvas
Humiecki & Graef Eau Radieuse – blue, one of the colours of the Ukrainian flag
Profumum Roma Acqua Viva – yellow, the second colour of the Ukrainian flag (bonus points for an Italian brand).
Thank you for sharing such a considered and uplifting CP scents!
🏆 in the Creativity in Layering event!!!
🇺🇦🇮🇹🇺🇦🇮🇹
Agreed!
Love the names “White Crush” and “Acqua Viva”. Bonus points for getting the colors of your flag in!
Kicking it old school in AdP’s Profumo. It reminds me a bit of Diorama.
Robin, here’s a lemming for you:
https://thecalifornianaturals.com/products/hydrating-lip-balm-sauz
HA! It had to happen. Thank you!
You smell sumptuous, interesting about the comparison.
House twins with Robin in Carthusian 1681, and taking points for Italian house and another sauna-adjacent scent. 1681 is sandalwood and cedar, made somewhat raspier with the addition of black pepper and lavender. It’s one of my top ten.
And thank you to Calypso, whose mention of Torvill and Dean’s stunning performance at the 1984 Olympics caused me to go watch it again — it literally made me weep! They were so young, and looked so nervous while waiting to be announced, and then to synchronize so flawlessly while spinning and dipping and linking … just gorgeous.
I am going to go watch now too
Sauna-adjacent! 😆😆😆
Love that! I posted T&D’s gold medal winning performance link above.
Wearing La Via del Profumo Tawaf but it’s very fleeting so I’ll likely be wearing several other fragrances throughout the day😊
A friend and I are having lunch today with an elderly woman we know who has a zest for life that makes me wonder how I’m ever going to be that peppy at her age. Off to walk the hills in our neighborhood to try to keep up!
oh, I love your SOTD! I have a tiny bit left-you smell great 🙂
Good to have friends who kind of-show you a path:) Enjoy your walk.
I totally agree how important inspiration like this is😊
Maybe the Sprezzatura Award for your friend?
Grazie mille for my new favorite word!
Prego mio amico !
Now I have a certain Iggy Pop song in my head after reading your post.
I have to do some Iggy Pop research….🧐
LOL!
I’ll make it easy. Your choices are “Lust for Life” or “Wild One”.
“Gonna keep a swingin’ baby!”
I love Winter Olympics and it’s hard to choose what to watch, because I like to watch pretty much all of the winter action, but it’s also my birthday weekend and I’m wearing my perennial favorite and special vintage treasure: Caron Narcisse Noir. Dark, carnal floral, full of all kinds of currently banned substances including nitro musks. So infamous that a whole movie was made about its appeal and – here comes my CP points bit – it was set in Himalayan mountain outpost with plenty of foreboding snow peaks nearby, not that anyone could actually ski over there.
Today’s version of Narcisse Noir is a sad, polite little floral so will cherish my vintage hoard while it lasts. Photo of my vintage black flower parfum bottle: https://www.instagram.com/p/DUbEgBhjZZF/?igsh=cjkwd2JycXMweTE0
The vintage Carons are amazing.
Happy Birthday akimon! Now you’ve made me want to watch the film B/N !
Thanks! It’s a really great movie, and well worth watching.
Happy birthday!
What fun, hope you get to see all the sports and eat all the cake 🙂
Thanks! I’m making vegan pistachio and rose frosting cake. I got the rose flavor drops from Aftelier for the occasion!
Oh how wonderful! Hope it is every bit as delicious as it sounds.
Happy Birthday weekend! Hope you will celebrate yourself each day 🥳🥳🥳 and here’s wishing you all the best in the year ahead!
Happy birthday weekend!
Happy birthday. Have a happy weekend
Happy Birthday🎂💐
Happy Scented Birthday weekend! 🎊🎁🥂🎂
Beautiful Caron! Happy Birthday, akimon!💐
I think I’m reasonably CP compliant, wearing (once again) L’Eau d’Hiver from Frederic Malle. Maybe it’s the name, but it feels just right for winter.
Daniel you smell amazing:) Wish people around here would wear beautiful scents like this.
I think it’s perfect! I’ve got it on my long-term buy list!
Absolutely cp compliant!
Goutal Nuit Etoilee
I understand that the medal ceremonies will be at night mainly. So the sports stars will be out then. Excellent cp choice!
ninfeo mio was a choice for me today by that brand
I love all things Goutal:)
The original bottle for that was stunning.
Yesterday I was in No 22. On the weekend poll a NSTer mentioned Ernest Beaux, the perfumer who created Chanel No. 5 and later Chanel No. 22 was born in Russia and trained in the art of scent during a time when snowy winters were a part of life. So Chanel No. 5 L’Eau and a few drop of the parfum for today SOTD.
This week I did Le Lion, Cristalle, Ralph Lauren Safari (a nod to the man behind team USA apparel.)
Love that connection LTSG!
Thank you! This has been a fun CP
So happy that even those winter- dislikers have found ways to participate! Very exhilarating to read for me!
Really love all the scents you wore this week, and I agree with LL-nice connections!
Aww! thank you!
I am wearing Italian makeup-do I get extra points?
Butting in (politely) to say I think you do.
Did someone say Italy??? I thought I had only one Italian fragrance, which I did not wear this week, but thanks to a posting the other day, I now can wear my other one I forgot about. SOTD is Ferre Eau de Parfum Gianfranco Ferre. This is a lovely iris and smells a lot like Iris Poudre so of course I love it.
I love the Olympics so will be watching for the next two weeks!
I have a bottle of this too and I like it as much as IP. The fruit note in Ferre makes me happy. So many good smelling people posting today (and everyday).
Beautiful interpretation Kris!
I might even like the Ferre slightly better…? Alas, it is gone, I believe.
It’s warm enough for iris perfumes for you? Or are they 4-seasons scents?
Some of my iris scents work in the winter. This one I normally don’t wear in the cooler months, but my Italian scents are limited and tend to be summer scents.
I’m watching the Olympic team skating events and wearing Orto Parisi Cuoium (Italian! Milanese!) It’s the last sunny day here before rain sets in for the next week or so. But warmish rain is forecast so the ski areas may not benefit much. I’ve pretty much written off ski season this year.
We’ve got it on in the background so I can work. The music is fantastic!
Loving all the header images this week. So much action, movement, and speed. Zoom, zoom! Does anyone remember the year Jamaica sent their first bobsled team? The incongruity! The images remind me of a famous illustrator from the 70’s and 80’s whose art evoked the same kind of whooshing movement, although I forget his name. I do remember a couple of specific horse sport images, though.
A couple of weeks ago I met a retired full timer (who travels with her cat!🐱) at a campground up in the mountains. She’s new to full-timing and afraid to boon-dock on her own so I gave her my number and told her she’s welcome to camp near me if that would make her feel a bit safer when I headed down to warmer climes and public lands. Anyway, surprisingly, she texted me two days ago and asked if the offer was still open. So she’ll be here on Monday and I hope she sees that she’s as safe as she can possibly be with a little preparedness and awareness. Hoping this is may give her the confidence to strike out on her own in the future because campgrounds have gotten outrageously expensive and some of them are now attracting nefarious activity like theft, domestic drama, and such.
Interestingly, she worked her entire career in hospitals in the billing/coding department and took early retirement because of “sketchy stuff.” We shared some stories that left us both gasping in horror and laughter.
No Italy connections, so I’m back in L’Essence. Just because. ❤️
Happy Friday and Opening Day of the Olympics! I’m honored and actually downright thrilled ( #Squee! ) to be associated with a CP. Thank you Robin! My first CP!
Sotd Courreges Eau de Liesse. Liesse means jubiliation and utter joy, so I’m interpreting it as The Thrill of Victory! And as a commercial said, no one achieved victory alone- it’s a team effort.
A beautiful Friday to all!
How nice to have a new camping buddy! I can’t imagine traveling with a cat. Maybe T-Rex will have a new camping buddy, too! 😹
Yes, I think it will be a nice change for a few days. I’ve seen many traveling cats over the years. Animals are very adaptable. Her cat seems to do remarkably well, but maybe because his disposition is so laid back and unflappable. He loves being outdoors and watching the goings on. She keeps him in a harness with a very long lead while out doors for safety, of course. 😸
Hope you have a good time with your new neighbor, and hope she does build confidence — that was really kind of you to offer!
Teflon kitty handled the move in a U-Haul so much better than I thought she would. But kitty pharmaceuticals also had a part in that. She does NOT like travels at all.
Wonder how the other cat does it?!?
PS. Loved the link to Wide World of Sports! I remembered the 2nd and 3rd versions.
Just as Calypso has gone down memory lane with Torvill and Dean, I’m thinking of Jean Claude Kelly. He was an Olympic champion in 1976 and then, for some reason, had a tv show. I used to watch him ( he was the skiing equivalent of Jacques Cousteau, primarily because he was French and handsome). Anyway, it’s a long stretch but matching in the Jean Claude (Ellena) created perfume Kelly (Caleche)..
Fact check…it’s Killy ( which ruins my perfume choice) and it was the 1968 Olympics.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pZy7PPZwRJU
Reminds me of that Robert Redford movie, Downhill Racer
Am I right to say Happy Waitangi Day? I loved Killy too and even asked for Halloween to be a downhill racer as a costume, with which my sewing Aunt Marion kindly complied.
Downhill Racer, gosh Redford was super gorgeous there. Shoutout to Gene Hackman as his coach.
JC Ellena for JC Killy is a very interpretation Kanuka! Well done you!
Eh, it’s the thought that counts!
Bulgari Black for the ice hockey puck win.
I don’t know anything about ice hockey but don’t they use rubber pucks? And it’s a closely watched Winter Olympics sport (though not by me, sadly).
Also, Bulgari is an Italian brand.
Oh, I like the puck idea!
I almost wore bulgari crystalline today
Brilliant!🏒
Awesome!
That’s very clever, Denise, I wish I had thought of that.
DH, that’s “pucking” awesome interpretation! The bottle! Genius!
Wild Coast Perfumery Whistler for me, for the 2010 Whistler Olympics, and all the Canadian athletes who train there.
Even I had been to Whistler although I limited myself to the bunny slope (barely!) and the chateau.
The chateau is oh so lovely!
Some serious respect for Whistler out here in these parts.
Whistler is such a great resort-it’s got everything going for it imo!
Great tie-in!
Canadians are so Nice! Like Minnesota Nice! Strangers are so helpful and kind there I’ve found.
OG, love that connection! The Whistler Winter Olympics were amazing.
The hilarious part? We live here but left for the 2010 Olympics. My kid was 3 months old, the annoying renters in the house across the alley from our bedroom kept watching European soccer loudly in real time (e.g., 4 a.m. our time) and the sound funnelled into our bedroom (which, getting up for night feedings, I’d notice, and would keep me up), and the university shut down for the entirety of the Olympics because some events were held on campus. So my spouse saw a prime research opportunity and we decamped for Germany. I hear the atmosphere here was amazing, but I just wanted to get out. 🙂
Well that makes perfect sense to me with a baby! Now 15 y/o?
SOTD = Lorenzo Paszinski’s Sun-gria
Nice Italian perfume, beautiful bottle!
In other news, for those filing tax returns for 2025, here’s a gift article on the “new” (not so new since these were in 2-3 articles I had previously shared) rules. I do my own with the help of tax software which I haven’t bought as yet.
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/06/business/2025-taxes-return-refund-income.html?unlocked_article_code=1.KFA.Lma0.Rb-cjeulaKuW&smid=nytcore-ios-share
My taxes are done!
Yippeeeee!
🎉🎉🎉
OMG, I wish mine were done.
Yay! My U.S. taxes won’t be done until June (foreign filer extension; the accountant won’t even touch them until after April 30, the Canadian deadline) and most of the Canadian tax forms aren’t issued yet.
Thank you HJS! Very informative!
Our New Zealand competitors have started well at the Winter Olympics, I might catch up on some of the coverage later.
I’m hoping for another summery day, so I’m wearing Armani Privé Rose Alexandrie. It’s a lovely light rose.
Oh good!
SOTD for today’s cp is Dolce&Gabbana Devotion. I’m claiming numerous points: brand name is Italian, the fragrance itself is a celebration of “the irresistible Italian dessert” (Olivier Cresp, its perfumer), and one of the definitions of the word ‘devotion’ is a ‘commitment or dedication to some purpose,’ which is surely what these athletes exhibit to a high degree all their lives as they strive to be the best in their sport. As a lover of gourmand scents in the cold weather months, I’m really enjoying this one today.👍
We finally got a few degrees above freezing today, ending the 20-day streak, so I guess I have to say, Woohoo! But it’s cloudy and extremely blustery with more snow showers predicted so it doesn’t quite feel as good as it sounds. Another brief cold spell tonight into tomorrow, then some 40’s for next week. 🤩
Hoping everyone in the northeast US stays safe and warm this weekend in the bitter cold forecast for you. Take care! 🤗
Yay for temps above freezing (even with that dratted wind)!
Please, take some of this heat!!
Yes, Milano & Cortina will surely be devotion central for all those athletes, parents, coaches, and trainers!
Still not a big Olympic watcher these days.
I did spray on the beautiful Gauic 10 on in honor of my sister and I traveling to Nagano Japan for the winter olympics in 1998.
My nephew was living in Osaka at the time so we three had fun and Nagano is beautiful and boy it was cold.
My sister has enthusiam for both of us so I am covered.
You attended the Olympics in Nagano ? Well that’s a thrilling memory for you and your family!
I would love to get to Nagano!
Sampling Grand Soir as part of Project Amber. 😉 It’s good but I think Musc Ravageur is a bit meatier and better.
I was watching a YT review on the current formulation of Ambre Sultan and they said while it’s definitely different the the OG it’s still good and that may be my next stop. 🛑 😆
You’ve moved on from Vanilla Quest to Project Amber?
Have you tried AG Ambre Sauvage yet? Growl!!
Yes, Project Amber is in full effect. 😍
I have not tried Ambre Sauvage and will put it on the list!
I’d also recommend Pacifica Spanish Amber. Not sure if that one has been discontinued, though. It’s one of the best ambers I have.
Following someone else’s lead and wearing Masque Milano’s L’Attesa today.
Smelling great!
Frozen red fruits, fresh pears and yogurt smoothie
This morning, PdF Spezie de Medici il concentrato, so pomander-like and tonight for the CP Milano Fragranze Panettone, such a distinctive gourmand, I don’t know any other like it.
Is your SOTD another one of your perfume treasures?
I’m glad to report they’re both still in production, Jalapeno, and all PdF concentrati are only available in 10ml size, perfect size.
Good to know! 😉
Aurora- panettone! We always enjoy that Italian treat during the Christmas holidays.
Very tastily fragrant CP choice!
Me too Leslie, it’s such a wonderful holiday treat and not too heavy.
My darling aunt used to say panettone is fruitcake’s more demure cousin 😆
Oh, that’s a bottle I miss…but I had the regular (EdT? EdP?). Such a great scent.
It’s still present on my wrist this morning, the concentrato comes in a 10ml size, Robin, perfect size.
That really is perfect!
Hiya NST!
My brother had to take his work truck to be serviced yesterday afternoon, and he needed a ride home, so I was busy doing that. The heater hasn’t been working for a while and that’s made for a very unpleasant ride around his job site(s). Hope it gets fixed this time.
When we got to his house we watched more anime, and some other things that he’s interested in. Also shot the breeze and completed some paperwork for his employer. I didn’t get home until 11:30 last night.
Scary warm out here. Almost 70 degrees F yesterday. People are running around in T-shirts and shorts. Not quite that hot today, thankfully.
SOTD = Prada Infusions D’Oeillet EdP. Joining up with the Prada peeps today. I smell good! But maybe I shouldn’t have used 4 sprays of this today? 🤔
Lots of Prada this week
Lots of Milano scent style!
4 sprays is a lot for you!
Enjoy the 70 degrees for me please.
But it’s 2 sprays per arm, which isn’t quite the huge cloud of perfume that 4 sprays in one spot comes off as.
66 degrees today and tomorrow. As long as I am not under a Red Flag Warning, I will enjoy it. But Colorado is taking a huge financial hit from the lack of snow. Snowpack is around 50% of average right now.
Maybe I missed it but during the Opening Ceremonies it looked like Armani had the costumes and uniform designs locked up.
Was surprised there wasn’t more Italian designers represented. Perhaps in the closing ceremonies.
Sometimes countries will use designers of their own to contribute uniforms, e.g. Ralph Lauren for the US. Pretty sure that the French, UK, and Canada have homegrown talent.
Not sure what the smaller countries do.
Excellent point jalapeño!
70! Wow. I think it was probably 10 or 12 here (low 50s) today, as it was springlike. I could see Grouse Mountain (one of the ski resorts over the city) today, and their lower run is completely green.
Some resorts here in Colorado haven’t been able to open all their terrain due to lack of snow. Even with state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment.
Where I am at down on the plains, there’s no green to be seen. It’s all brown and yellow.
Hope his heater will be properly fixed, you’re a good sister. OTOH with these Colorado temperatures at the moment who needs car heating?
Since my brother works at night, the temps are chilly to downright COLD. Gets worse if a stiff wind is blowing.
Lattedoro since it says Made in Italy on the label
Points!
THR, Lattedoro sounds so delicious that I really enjoy those notes in a hot tea latte!
I’ve had this scent picked out for today since the cp was announced since it hits the theme a couple ways. Lorenzo Villoresi Teint de Neige is from an Italian brand and has snow in the name. It’s a very powdery scent with flowers and heliotrope paired with white musk. Here’s a great review from Jessica: https://nstperfume.com/2011/01/07/lorenzo-villoresi-teint-de-neige-fragrance-review/
My decant is in a dabber bottle and I had an incident when turning it upside down to “dab” on my arm earlier. I ended up dumping about a third of the bottle on my arm and the floor! Luckily, the floor wasn’t carpeted so it won’t tell reek forever, and I just had to deal with a bit of coughing from inhaling so much perfume on my arms. 😜
Oh no! I’ve done that before.
That’s a lot of powder!
It did make me laugh at least! And it really was a lot of powder, but I was mostly fine with it after the initial burst calmed down.
Uh oh! I’ve done that with dabber samples before. Tried to get a bit of perfume out and ended up covering my entire arm.
Yes, that happens to me with dabber samples sometimes too.
Sorry!!!
It’s ok, at least this wasn’t a discontinued or very pricey perfume. I’ve had this decant a long time so I guess I just got helped along in finishing it off faster.
🙂
Yikes! I did that with vintage Mitsouko and Iris Silver Mist. Nearly had a heart attack!
It’s awful when it happens with vintage or discontinued perfumes!
I wore Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue for CP points. Every time I wear it, I think this is perfection!
I watched the Opening ceremonies and was humbled at the efforts of all countries to get there. Many countries had 1,2 and 3 athletes. I remember my nieces saying they wanted to be Olympic athletes in swimming when they were kids. Made me so proud to be their aunt.
I always have tears in my eyes during the opening cermony
Yes, me too! The athletes work so hard to be there.
Hi there, house twin!
Hi there! Prada made a nice showing this week.
Me too! Those small teams moved us as well!
I made an appointment for my stupid car for Monday. I only have to worry about it getting me to work for 2 more days. I’m really super bummed out right now.
I am wearing Bottega Veneta for the cp today. At least I smell like a nice new car leather interior. Lol.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Good luck with your car. Smelling great in the OG Bottega Veneta!
Sending out good thoughts for your car, lillyjo!
Sorry lillyjo, and fingers crossed for you!
So very sorry about your car but loved you interpreted the Bottega as new car leather!
Sending more good car vibes your way! 🚗🙏
Fingers crossed for your car. Of course you smell wonderful
I like the Winter Olympics but never seem to have time to watch it. I like that is it more quirky than the summer games with sports most people don’t know well and that small countries actually having a chance to beat the larger ones.
But I went with the Italian connection, Laboratorio Olfattivo’s Vanagloria. I love this one, but my husband sniffed, “industrial solvents”, which is actually not a full insult in my view and this was my favorite purchase of 2025.
I am going to Italy in the spring and I am really wanting to see what perfumes they have over there.
I honestly did not know that, that it was quirkier and less slanted towards larger richer countries.
LOL — only a true perfumista would say “industrial solvents” is not a full insult. Go you!
Z2 I don’t know if you have Peacock but you can watch some events on demand. Also there’s a Milano Cortina Winter Olympics app to keep you up to date if you’re particularly interested in some events.
It’s really interesting to watch the Olympics, especially the Winter Olympics, from other countries. I mentioned above that we vacated Canada for Germany during the 2010 Olympics, and I had a 3-month-old. I spent a lot of time in the apartment in Germany watching TV while I fed the kid, and it was really very interesting to watch the Olympics from a different country’s point of view. (The Germans aren’t exactly weak in winter sports, but very different coverage from North America.)
Unrelated posting that today is/was also World Clash Day. Lots of music of The Clash, or Clash-related, on the radio station I listen to today.
Oh! I bet they did something on XPN but I missed it.
KEXP definitely covered it!
sotd = Parfum d’Hermes
Waving from 🇫🇷 (metaphorically and fragrantly) to everyone over in 🇮🇹.
I was in the mood for a
Big Floral Chypre. 😄
The Opening Ceremony emphasized peace among the nations for the glory of sport, so I think your friendly wave from french to Italian is in the spirit of the Games!
