Happy Friday and happy National Peanut Butter Day! Birthdays: Edith Wharton, Neil Diamond, Aaron Neville, John Belushi. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with benzoin, if you have one.
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm joining the Prada Candy train.
Reminder: on 1/31, we'll honor the Lunar New Year (coming up on Wednesday) by wearing a fragrance that reflects the qualities of the (Wood) Snake: wisdom, patience, elegance, charm and mystery.*
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2025, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is Carey Mulligan (x 3) for Prada's Spring Summer 2025 campaign.

Hello and tgif!
Sotd is Guerlain Imagine. Orange blossoms dipped in gold upon a bed of creamy, resinous benzoin.
I have always preferred smooth peanut butter. Does chunky really make it better? Honest question.
Only smooth for me too. When I want chunks, I’d rather eat whole nuts (or chocolate with chunks of nuts).
And your scent sounds amazing. Never heard of it until today.
My husband and I bought smooth peanut butter for years and years before discovering that we both preferred crunchy. He switched back to smooth for boring medical reasons but I still love the chunky peanutty kind — more textural interest equals more enjoyment, to me. Sometimes I’m tempted to get some dry-roasted peanuts, chop them coarsely, and stir them in for even more flavour and texture, and now that I’ve actually written it out, I think I will.
I’ve done that, it’s delicious. Maximum chunkiness!
I like smooth and hubby likes crunchy so we buy both peanut butters. I’m like Glannys. If I want crunchy I’d rather have the nuts thus I usually have a jar of them too.
One vote for chunky peanut butter.
I have always loved PB and love both smooth and chunky PB. I recently had a chunky PB milkshake that was incredible. (Thanks to allo!)
Team smooth PB here. Same for OJ — no pulp please.
Your perfume sounds gorgeous. I also had never heard of it before. I’m off to fall into a rabbit hole reading about it.
I used to like the crunchy more, and will happily eat it, but I only buy creamy these days. My preference is the natural, only peanuts and salt, kind. I eat a lot of nuts of all kinds, so I guess I am getting my crunchy fill that way.
I like the natural style also. I find that sometimes recipes using peanut butter recommend the regular peanut butter that you don’t need to stir but I’m not sure why. I’ve never had any issues with the natural style.
I eat toast with peanut butter as my breakfast most mornings. I like smooth.
Peanut butter cookies are a love of mine.
Team Crunchy for peanut butter here. I agree with pyramus that it adds some much needed textural interest, especially in a classic PB&J.
But I have switched to almond butter in the past couple of years because I think it tastes even better than peanut butter.
Woke up with my hair still smelling of yesterday’s orange blossom combo – yum! After showering, it was time for my final layering of the week. I knew it had to include Candy, the queen of benzoin in my opinion. The question was: what would pair well with Candy? I decided to keep piling on the sweet and gourmand notes, risking an olfactory sugar coma.
Name of the layering: Bewitching Benzoin, Voluptuous Vanilla
Scents: Prada Candy + Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille + Le Couvent Maison de Parfum Cologne of the Missions
It turned out to be not as overpowering as I had feared! Lots of fun with benzoin-vanilla goodness.
ChatGPT originally suggested just Prada Candy + Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille and named it “Benzoin Decadence.” I added another scent and renamed it, but I admit that “Benzoin Decadence” sums up the whole community project very well.
Excellent all around, Glannys! I like your layering idea better than ChatGPT’s
Your scent combination sounds wonderful! So many mentions of Prada Candy this week – I’ve tried it several times and, unfortunately, am completely anosmic to it!
Ok, I am going to try that combo (Guerlain + Prada) next week. (I don’t own your third scent so can’t do the trio).
These 2 are the main ones. I sprayed a bit of Cologne of the Missions near the collarbone as a sort of foundation for Guerlain and Prada, but I think this pair will work well without it.
I layered Shalimar with Anick Goutal’s vanilla
You are really on the roll with Shalimar layerings this week!
I have to admit that Chat GPT did an excellent job with the name “Benzoin Decadence”.
It’s quite helpful with the CPs. One day it will come here and start posting instead of me, and you won’t notice a thing. 😂🤣
…Wait. Maybe it’s already happened? 🧐Dun dun dun! 😨
Skynet? Is that you? 🤔🤔🙀
Today I’m in the benzoin-iest thing I know, Givenchy Pi. It was yet another one of those instant-love things for me: I bought it as soon as I smelled it because I just knew, and I’m still working on that same bottle over a quarter of a century later. There are lots of interesting things going on up top, but by the time you reach the basement it’s like 90% pure benjamin.
I love Pi, but don’t own it.
I’m wearing Voleur de Roses, which has a base note of benzoin. I looked for benzoin in my full bottles, and then in my decants, but didn’t find anything I really wanted to wear. I’ve been on a rose kick this month, so when I found benzoin listed in VdeR, I went with that.
That one is such an evocative scent, it reminds me of roses growing on cold rocks.
Voleur de Roses is wonderful stuff.
I’m in Coromandel EDT 🙂 It was that, or Le Lion.
We have a break from polar vortex-now it’s much warmer and snowing. I have a countdown to spring on – someone here said it was 55 days, and they said this maybe two days ago. But in my head it’s 42 days or so. Snow math is like perfume math-unique to the individual, so pls leave me with my delusions 🙂 I’m happier that way.
Coromandel is a lovely choice.
Great one!
Scent twins today carole! We smell wonderful.
We absolutely do, ringthing 🙂
Don’t forget there are 2 dates you can call spring…first day of spring officially is March 20 because that is the vernal equinox. But the first day of meteorological spring is March 1 🙂
ps so it is 36 days until meteorological spring!
Today I am wearing vintage Emeraude. I’m always stuck anew my the beauty of this one when I wear it, it almost shimmers.
I agree! I wore this one earlier this week.
I was going to do Bois d’Armenie but instead went with Tiger by Her Side from Sana Jardin, which lists benzoin as a note in the sampler pack that a friend loaned me. It’s very pretty and reminds me of a lighter Coromandel, with which is shares a chocolatey patchouli note. Thanks to others here who have mentioned it, which made me reach for it this morning.
Sounds not up my alley but glad it is up your alley!
I am burning my Year of Armenia candle from Papier d’Armenie 🙂
I remember the patchouli in Tiger By Her Side from when I tried it.
For the community project I’m sampling Dark Ginger Spicecake from Solstice Scents. Nice cozy winter scent
That sounds so nice!
Wearing Andy Tauer’s Les Annees 25 BIS today. I honestly should start Wearing my Tauer offerings a lot more.
I need to do a serious cabinet rotation…I think that about many of the perfumes in my collection!
Same. Mine also seem to have evaporated quite a bit, more noticeably than other brands.
PG Indochine for me today.
Hope all of you have a great day and weekend 😊
Smelling great! I spritzed a bit of Indochine on my scarf yesterday and really enjoyed the gentle scent cloud.
I know you like it.
That is a gorgeous scent, and you smell amazing. I need to bust that one out more, particularly in chilly weather. Be well!
Yes, it is a great scent in cool weather.
Hope your weekend is a good one as well, Kris!
Thanks. I was going to email Lillyjo today, but I see she is here again.
Happy Friday NST!
I’m twinning with carole in Coromandel edt, just a drop for me.
I do enjoy a domestic goddess day off and today I will be cooking some soup and putting up a new shower curtain. How exciting! At least I smell great. And so do all of you 😊
That will be my Sunday-I have a turkey to cook, and then soup stock to make. While it’s cooking I’ll be cleaning. I’m looking forward to it.
https://youtu.be/FASDAn-jImk?feature=shared
Some domestic goddess comedy for your day.
Hi, I’ve been missing you, hope your days off were cozy and indoors.
I remember this special and have quoted the “whadd’ya think, my uterus is a tracking device?” line many times. When she was still funny, she was really funny. Thanks for the laugh.
Glad to see you lillyjo, people were looking for you yesterday 🙂
Hiya lillyjo!
😄
I saved a very old and dear favorite for today’s CP, and it was a challenge finding it because I have it double-ziplocked and tucked in among some non-perfume items. But unearth it I did, and it’s still its glorious floral-ambery self. Of course I’m referring to Teo Cabanel’s Alahine. I have the original glass bottle with the fine red cord around the neck, and it off-gasses from somewhere so the bottle is always a bit sticky and a danger to whatever it sits on (hence the ziplocking), but I love it anyway.
Twins, and we’re smelling fine 😉
I knew I couldn’t be the only one in Alahine today!
Love, love, love Alahine!
It’s truly gorgeous, and I feel so lucky to have found it.
Me too!
Alahiiiiiiiiiiine!
Someone had to do that.
🤣🤣🤣
The “problem” (not really) with NST is that I end up wanting to try all the fragrances I read about! It’s a good problem to have, though, and you all smell marvelous! I rediscovered my tiny decant of Bois des Iles parfum and am wearing a very small drop of it. I can’t say I detect the benzoin it allegedly contains; when a fragrance has significant sandalwood in it the sandalwood is usually mostly what I can smell.
Oh, what a great choice.
Yum!
Happy Friday!
I love NST for many many reasons and I’m especially grateful this morning for the CP and SheriG’s inspiration to wear Alahine. I bought a bottle several years ago, found I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would, split most of the bottle and today, I’m really enjoying it. Go figure! Is it me? Is it the fragrance aging? Both of us aging? Whatever it is, thank you SheriG and thank the perfume gods that I left some for myself🥰
That has happened to me as well and my answer is it’s both us and our fragrance changing a bit as we go through life. But…who knows? Either way it’s great to find that I can appreciate things differently as time goes on.
P.S. PSA – Fzotic wabi-sabi soap for sale 30% off
You’re entirely welcome, and I’m passing our combined thanks to mals86 who, iirc, was the NSTer who raved about it so much that I had to seek it out. I’ve done the same as you with fragrances that I didn’t think I liked but that ended up growing on me over time — hence my box of “maybe I should keep these” bottles and samples (that I seldom dip into). 😆
This has happened to me as well. My guess is that my tastes have changed over the years.
I ask the same question. The aspect of my perfume collecting that makes me feel most guilty is not the new acquisitions but the older ones which languish. However, the next question is why, even when my tastes change, there are a few that keep my interest – Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere is circa 2010 and still a favorite.
I totally relate to the guilt about languishing perfumes. I definitely feel a pang of guilt each time I spray a neglected bottle and love it. As a therapist, I really have to take a look at this strange phenomenon🤔
I’ve changed my mind on some of my perfumes as time has gone by. Sometimes in the positive direction, and sometimes in the negative.
Me too!
I put on Guerlain SDV today which is wonderful, but now that allo has mentioned it, I think I’ll go with Alahine (I have a large sample) tomorrow! Heading out for a long walk with a friend later today. We have had the most gorgeous clear blue skies this January.
Also – quick shout out to Cazaubon who provided the SDV split a few years ago. Cazaubon, hope you are doing well!
Enjoy your blue sky and walk.
You would be an expert on gorgeous blue skies! 😉
On train car #23 (I’m guessing) for Prada Candy. I’ve had the bottle for a couple of years and am about a quarter of the way through it, so I obviously pick it up quite a lot, and today it’s working particularly well on this cold and sunny day.
🚂🚂🚂!
I love benzoin as a note, and I have quite a few perfumes with it. Today I am going with one of my winter staples, Aftelier Cepes & Tuberose. Although it’s all about the heady mix of tuberose and earthy mushrooms, there is a beautiful and distinct benzoin note in the base. I have a bottle of pure parfum concentration and I’m enjoying it gently wafting off my wrist today. I will likely spritz another perfume where benzoin is featured, Strange Invisible Perfumes Etrange, later on. Both are all natural perfumes, my favourite kind of scent. Photo of my C&T bottle: https://www.instagram.com/p/DFN38QLRPPI/?hl=en
Love the picture and though I have not smelled that before, it sure sounds good.
Have not smelled it in eons so did not remember the benzoin at all. Such an interesting perfume.
Commando for now because I have a medical procedure later today, but I wore Coromandel yesterday and I’m very much looking forward to wearing something later, I probably won’t be able to resist jumping on the Alahine train!
Happy Friday, all.
Hope it will all go very well.
Good luck with your procedure!
Best of luck with your procedure!
I remember all the hoopla surrounding Alahine for a while and I succumbed to FOMO and bought a bottle blind. I liked it the first one or two times I wore it, but then the appeal faded. I either swapped it here or sold it, I can’t remember which, but no regrets.
I enjoyed Cologne pour le Soir yesterday, so today I am wearing its Big Sister, Absolue pour le Soir. I think I heard a rumor that FK was re-releasing this. I might need a backup bottle if it hasn’t been reformulated.
You smell fabulous in Absolue pour le Soir! I’ve been thinking of that for this evening.
Interesting to hear that it might be re-released, I wouldn’t need another bottle in several lifetimes, but I’d be keen to try it.
A few sprays of YSL Caftan today from a sample.
Haircut later so need to be good.
OMG I finally finished 28 discs of A Little Life.
Now I can move along to Harry Bosch, another LA person ( even if he is fictional). I love to drive listening to Michael Connolly.
The TV versions of Bosch are really great, too!
Any Harry Bosch will do.
I read A Little Life 8 or 9 years ago and I still think about it at least once a month. relentless and haunting
I was on the fence about finishing it, but was over the 50% mark so kept on going.
It’s hard to know when to keep going or put a stop to reading.
Such problems, I know.
Crunchy peanut butter on my toast this morning.
Is it good? I have had it for quite awhile but never picked it up it up.
I liked it but it is not an (emotionally) easy read. At certain points it felt like the author had contempt for the characters.
Thanks Vee. I need to get to it.
Bosch was a huge hit with my family. When the original series ended, I felt so let down.
Was it good? I have had it sitting on my shelf forever and never pick it up.
House twins with Desirae today in a bit of vintage L’Origan. Tons of benzoin, and perfect for a cold and sunny day. It’s amazing how gorgeous those older formulations of Coty fragrances were. This is one of the most gorgeous frags I own! I bought this as part of a set of three teeny mini bottles. This makes me so happy, since I can wear it and not have to worry about the rest of it going off.
Happy Friday, everyone!
I didn’t realize L’Origan had benzoin. I love this one, too!
I didn’t realize it either, until I looked it up. This and Emeraude are such cozy fragrances for cold weather.
Your neighborhood sounds like so much fun! Makes me want to move to Chicago. 😄 I have a niece there and I should plan to come out when it gets a bit warmer.
I must ask: what are “Green Drinks?”
Green Drinks is an offshoot of the Go Green movement and meets in many countries. Ours gets together once a month informally in an Irish pub nearby and always features a speaker on a nature/environmental topic. You can find more info and where you can meet up with like-minded people here:
http://www.greendrinks.org/
And here’s a link to the Go Green info:
http://www.gogreen.org/
Thanks! Sounds like a great project.
I’m thinking of SL’s A La Nuit today, I bought it way back in 2013, so it’s probably classed as vintage by now – vintage used to mean really old, now the term seems to be used for anything older than last week 🙂 .
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. Lovely.
I bet your bottle smells spectacular by now.
On the Candy train with you guys.
I would never have tried it, based on the name, but was at a job interview and the interviewer wore it. I took a risk and as we were outdoors walking between buildings, asked her fragrance. I was later offered the job, and also bought a bottle. I love it and the flanker Candy L’Eau. Be well!
What a great memory Candy will always have for you, HemlockSillage.
Never tried Candy L’Eau. What’s it like compared to the original?
L’Eau is more powdery, more floral to my memory. I’m planning to wear it soon. PG Indochine tomorrow inspired by Kris above…then Candy L’eau…barring perfumed distraction. I love perfume distractions. Be well.
Thank you!
I’m wearing Mon parfum chéri par Camille from Goutal.
No benzoin I think.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I love that scent, and its beautiful deep red bottle 🙂
It’s a really stunning perfume, funnily enough I’ve always thought of the bottle as purple.
Hope that your weekend is a good one as well!
I’m house sisters with foxbins in Grand Soir today and am sure that benzoin is part of its golden goodness!
That’s a gorgeous scent!
Tonka bean + benzoin + labdanum = a warm, comforting hug on yet another very 🥶 day in my SOTD and choice for today’s cp, YR Sable Fauve. Like many of you, I didn’t realize I had so many fragrances with a benzoin note and, quite frankly, even know what benzoin was until I looked it up this week. The one blessing with all this cold weather is the abundance of ☀️; my house has many windows on all sides and it’s actually warmer inside when the temps are bitter cold but 🌞 than when it’s warmer outside but cloudy and gloomy.
Despite the cold, it’s been a very social week for us. Our monthly Green Drinks get-together featured a wonderful insect photographer – so many beautiful creatures in our neighborhood we’re unaware of! Our monthly classic film series on the mega screen in our historic movie theater featured Seven Samurai – what a great film to see on the big screen!
Tonight my thoughts begin to turn to Spring as we celebrate the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox at the first Soxfest since the pandemic. I can’t believe that was 20 years ago already but I’ll never forget the 2 games I was able to attend! A bonus for me is that it’s being held in another historic movie theater that was closed for many years and recently brought back to life, and it’s the neighborhood theater I attended during all my growing up years, so many memories! And tomorrow, even more springtime in the form of the annual seed exchange at the Chicago Botanic Garden. We look forward to this every year; there’s always an inspirational lecture beforehand and we get most of our seeds for the year as well. 🪴 🌹 🥕.
Wishing everyone a good weekend ahead and special thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the California wildfires. 🤗 🤗
Many windows twins😀
👍
Ooh, labadanum, tonka and benzoin – must be a really cosy winter scent.
Insect photography? I am both repulsed and fascinated by the idea. But I can see that they are beautiful, too.
She told us she started taking photos of flowers but when she enlarged them on her computer she then noticed the insects. So she began focusing on taking photos of the insects on the plants, not knowing what they were until she enlarged them on her computer and only then learning on how to identify them. Each of them were so finely and beautifully detailed in her photos, and there was a great variety of species I’d never heard of, that I’ll bet if you saw them you would be as fascinated as I was and not repulsed at all.
Bright sunshine definitely makes winter weather more tolerable. Or maybe I should say less intolerable? 😉❄️❄️❄️
If given a choice, cold vs. hot, I’d choose cold every time. I don’t mind it, as long as I don’t have to drive in ice and snow. ‘Hot’ usually comes with humidity, which I don’t tolerate well at all.
Frozen berries and yogurt smoothie
For the CP this morning I decided on Louanges Profanes, there was a lot going on in it but I believe part of its pleasant sweetness is thanks to benzoin; again for the CP tonight it’s Brécourt Farah where the benzoin is front and center along with dates, and because I haven’t worn it in a good while, I added Kenzo Amour le Parfum on my sleeve, mostly rice and benzoin in that one.
Amour le Parfum wasn’t around for very long, was it?
Yes, I think it was a limited edition, I’m not into perfume bottles but this gold one is quite pretty. Regular Amour is good in its own right imo, my bottle is orange.
Unfortunately it seems the only bottle that Kenzo Amour comes in now is the gigantic 100mL monster. I liked the different colored bottles for each size. Too bad it isn’t available in a travel spray.
I’m in Diptyque’s Benjoin Boheme today, thanks to a split Bronyraur hosted a couple years ago. I’m not sure why, but to me this smells like an upscale antique furniture store. It must be a scent memory from childhood of a particular store back when my parents would go antiquing and drag me along. Ironically I enjoying antiquing now, but none of the stores ever smell like this.
Tea today is Clipper Ship’s French Grey. Yum!
I keep seeing the mentions of this scent this week. It sounds fascinating, especially “antique furniture”!
Agree, Glannys. It’s made me want to try it too.
I love Amour le Parfum and wanted to wear it today, but it’s at my other place. Farrah is calling my name now. Benzoin and dates? Sign me up! It’s probably discontinued, isn’t it? 🫤
Oops, this was supposed to be a reply to Aurora’s post above.
Caught the comment AnnE😀, then you might like Farah, it’s not talked about at all, yet it’s absolutely delicious without being sickenly sugary, the date note is noticeable to me, also, it came out 15 years ago and is still in production.
Wonderful. Thanks Aurora! I haven’t heard anything about Brécourt in a long time, so it’s good to know that this is still available. I love the date note in OJ Ta’if.
I’m in Iris Silver Mist today. It’s as lovely as ever!
It’s always so lovely and you smell lovely wearing it.
Aww, thank you allo! To me it’s very special. So glad to have this in my collection.
I love those Prada dresses! Enjoying a wood-laced benzoin in Bois d’Armenie today. I keep meaning to run over to one of the specialty shops in town to see if anyone carries the Papier d’Armenie, out of curiosity to try it. Bd’A is very soft and refined, and I think I will appreciate it more if I wear it a few days in a row. This was a fun CP for me!
It’s worth looking at the whole campaign with Carey Mulligan and how different she looks in each outfit!
It is worth trying all 3 versions of Papier d’Armenie, but the Year of Armenia one by Francis Kurkdjian is by far my favorite and I love the matching candle. The little strips are great for scenting things…I put them in drawers, and in my purse, etc. I wish he’d do a perfume in the scent. (He might actually have developed the rose version too, I can’t remember now)
Thanks for the tip!
SOTD = Chanel Coromandel EDT
Love it! 🤎 I also have a BUB, the EDP and the Extrait. Do I love it or do I love it? 🥰
https://www.instagram.com/p/DFOijUnxPeZ/?igsh=MXFtZHp0dGZmNXNhZw==
I will start using “Chanel” as is from now on, IG post deletion formula be d-mned! I am going to update past posts to reflect this as well.
Sounds like Coromandel is a LURVE for you!
Hey, how did you know? 🤣
Like many of you, I’ve had a great smelling week wearing perfumes that include benzoin. Today I’m in the gorgeous Benjoin Boheme by Diptyque. Others worn this week were Prada Candy, By Kilian Amber Oud, and PG Indochine. I’m yawning through my last hour of work, so ready for the weekend.
Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you, you too!
You smelled mighty good this week. Enjoy the beautiful weekend ahead!☀️
Prada Candy was a perfume I kept considering but it never quite made the cut. I guess if I ever see it at Marshall’s.
I am wearing a sample of Matiere Premiere Encens Suave which has a benzoin note. I am comparing samples of Encens Suave to Vanagloria samples for incense-vanilla. Both are nice but I think Vanagloria is winning.
I got 2 compliments on sample of Maison Tahiti Floranilla I wore yesterday. That one smells like Good and Plenty candy to me. It also reminded me a little of Guerlain Insolence – maybe the violet?
I do like Good & Plenty so that is tempting!
Thought I would still be buzzing along Benzoin Boulevard today but nope, I made a wrong turn. It’s a very scenic route, so I’m not mad about it. Wearing Kalemat, which I could have sworn had benzoin in it but not according to the note list. No matter, lovely stuff!
I could have sworn Kalemat has benzoin!
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/JoXVYSV4Xcs
So I have survived another trip around our Daystar! Of course, modern life being what it is, I get a Data Breach letter in the mail today. My brother took me out for a birthday lunch yesterday afternoon, since he works on Fridays.
SOTD = Prada Candy, from the cute 1oz bottle still in the shrinkwrap I opened this morning.
I missed your birthday?! Happy belated! 🎂
Sometimes surviving one more trip around the sun is a monstrous feat! Congrats! Candy is super popular this week, for sure.
Nah, you are right on time! I share the same birthday as the late John Belushi, much to my amusement.
Candy pairs so well with Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench body butter, it’s almost like they were made for each other.
Happy Birthday Jalapeno!
When my kid’s were little I would sing the tune of I want Candy but change the words to something silly and now I sing it to my dog. Lol.
Thanks lillyjo!
I must admit that I sometimes sing to Teflon kitty. She always looks at me like I have lost my marbles. Cats!
Happy belated birthday, a lunch is very nice indeed and I bet you smell great.
I enjoyed sunny skies and a poke bowl yesterday. Today my best friend from high school called me for a birthday chat.
Happy Birthday!
Thanks Glannys! I hope you see some sunny skies and mild weather soon.
Happy Birthday! Are you going to celebrate with your brother?
Also, I forgot to ask you about Delicia Drench. I smelled it in Sephora yesterday and I liked it but couldn’t tell what perfume would go well with it. It has vanilla orchid and sandalwood so I wasn’t sure that I had anything that would go with it so didn’t buy it. I wear the Bum Bum Body Butter with Indochine and like that.
Thank you Kris!
This year, my brother is working on my birthday. So we figured either an early birthday lunch, or a belated one. Since he has been using Sundays as a veg-out day, we decided on an early birthday lunch. Had lovely weather for it, too.
If you like patchouli or woody perfumes, I think those would go well with Delicia Drench. I am enjoying it with Prada Candy. Matching it with a vanilla scent might be challenging. I’ve noticed that sometimes different kinds of vanilla fight with each other.
I was thinking maybe Shalimar MJ since it could go with a floral.
Supposedly Delicia Drench has sugared violets in it, but I didn’t notice them.
Maybe time to get a sample?
Belated Happy Birthday 🎂! Prada Candy – smellin’ good!
Actually, you are right on time with the birthday salutations!
Prada Candy is probably one of the best gourmands I have in the Perfume Stash.
Happy belated birthday, Jalapeno! Smelling fantastic, of course. It sounds like you had a nice couple days.
Thanks Gail! I’ve enjoyed my respite from the Polar Vortex.
Very happy birthday to you, Jalapeno! And you smelled marvelous today. 🎊
Thank you, therabbitsflower! I am enjoying my little perfume monogamy streak very much. 😁
Happy birthday Jalapeno!! Hope there was some cake involved or that you are treating yourself to something delicious today 🎂
Thanks Robin! I had some chocolate truffles from Vosges that just happened to be hanging around, so I had a very nice nibble!
Happy birthday, Jalapeño, wishing all good things for you in the coming year ahead. 🤗 And I hope Teflon kitty gives you extra birthday purrs. My three are sending you birthday purrs, too 😽😽😽.
Thank you Laila! Hope your kittehs are nice and warm this weekend and get some extra treats and/or pets.
Belatedly wishing you the happiest of birthdays and a wonderful year ahead!💐💐💐
Thanks allo!
Hey Guys!
I’m sorry I missed so much NST but I was dreadfully sick this past week. I spent my whole staycation on the couch with Vernors and crackers. I finally felt well enough today that I went to work. Silver lining is I didn’t have to go out in the Artic blast. I didn’t wear any perfume and at one point was so congested it wouldn’t have mattered.
Today I put on a few dabs of Eau de Givenchy.
Oh no! So sorry to hear that you were sick! 😓🤒🤕🤧
Glad to hear that you are feeling somewhat better.
So sorry Lillyjo that you spent your holiday being sick instead of being able to have a good time. Glad you feel more like yourself today.
Glad you are feeling better!
I was going to email you today if you weren’t on here because Jalapeno mentioned she hadn’t noticed you. I went back and saw you hadn’t posted for a week.
Feel bad you were sick, but glad you are feeling better.
So sorry you felt so awful! Glad you’re doing better now.
Oh no, sorry you were so sick on your vacation. Seems so unfair! You smell great in Eau de Givenchy.
Glad go hear you’re feeling better.
Oh no!! What a shame you can’t retroactively switch your vacation to sick leave.
I’m so sorry you spent your whole staycation sick!
Oh, sorry to hear about your ill staycation, glad you are feeling better and could at least avoid the Arctic blast. Take it easy, take it slow.
Lillyjo, sorry you have been so sick! I have been thinking of you and I’m glad that you didn’t have to get out during the deep freeze. Take care of yourself.
I’m sorry you were laid so low by this nasty bug and am glad you are on the mend🌸
