Hermès has launched Un Jardin à Cythère, a new unisex fragrance (the seventh) in the brand's Jardin series. The last was 2019's Un Jardin sur la Lagune.
Created by Hermès’ perfumer Christine Nagel, Le [sic] Jardin à Cythère Eau de Toilette is a surprising garden that it's neither green nor floral, but... blond. It is the expression of an olfactory quest through Greece that leads to Kythira, an unspoiled island that has inspired many artists.
A citrus and woody fragrance, Un Jardin à Cythère Eau de Toilette combines enveloping notes of grasses with the strength of olive wood and the tenderness of fresh pistachio.
[...] The Parfums-Jardins collection brings together the soul of a place, the inspiration of the perfumer and the theme chosen by Hermès each year to illuminate its creation. An olfactory stroll to share for every moment, to indulge every desire for freshness, reverie or escape.
Hermès Un Jardin à Cythère is available now at John Lewis in the UK, in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Interesting notes! Will try when I see it.
Same. Hope it is not overly clean.
For some reason I love each and every scent created by Nagel. I can’t wait to try this one, sounds interesting.
I’m also a huge fan of Nagel, can’t wait to smell this!
I am more like 50-50 with Nagel, and I did not like Lagune, so I will smell before I buy 🙂
Ooh, I am excited to sniff this!
Good! Hope you love it.
Thank you Robin, it sounds original with these notes, curious now.
It does…sounds very different from the others in the series.
I’ve heard from the grapevine that we are due for another Hermessence in April as well…
that is exciting news, thank you.
Thanks for the intel!
That makes sense, it’s been a bit. I can’t remember but seems like we should be getting a new Merveilles this year or next too.
As the one person on the planet who loves Lagune – it’s the only Jardin that doesn’t strike me as wan – I’ll definitely be giving this one a sniff. Nagel isn’t afraid of off-kilter and unusual accords that remain resolutely wearable and practical. (H24 in particular is a stroke of genius, a sci-fi fougére with a coolly synthetic sheen but a warm heart.) My favorite thing about her work for Hermés is that I have no idea what it’s going to smell like before it’s released. Press materials might as well be white noise. I love being surprised!
Commenting a couple weeks late on this, but I’m really looking forward to trying it and have heard a good review from one friend who bought a bottle.
My taste is more aligned with Ellena’s aesthetic than it is with Nagel’s, so we’ll see.
