It's Coco Chanel’s birthday. Our community project for today: wear something by Chanel, with double points for wearing No. 19. If you're not up for a third Chanel project (see 2014 and 2019), vote with your fragrance and wear a brand that you think deserves more attention. Thanks to Dawn for the suggestion!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm taking a point in (very old, not quite pristine but still darned good) Chanel Cristalle Eau de Toilette.
Reminder: on 8/26 we're doing It's difficult, part 1...wear a fragrance that you'd recommend as a good introduction to a note that some people find difficult.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try (but obviously sometimes fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image shows Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel in Venice, 1920.
Chanel Bois Des Isles EDT over here. I love that soft aldehydic opening. Smells like something my grandmother would have loved (she loved good quality scents).
me too
great minds!
You smell absolutely lovely.
Thank you 🙂 I bet you do, too 🙂
I almost wore BdI — you do smell perfect.
That’s so kind of you to say, Robin-thank you 🙂
I love this one, too, it was almost my choice for today.
Good morning and TGIF!
Sotd is No.19’s little sister No.19 Poudre. I’ve always wanted to love the original 19 but for some reason it always smells sour on me. Not good. Thank goodness for Poudre!
This weekend will be a little busy since I have a big presentation coming up next Tuesday so I have to really prepare. *anxioussss* 😬
Currently drinking genmaicha.
Today I am your big sister in vintage No. 19–we both smell great. And as your big sister (and also an acting coach), don’t sweat the presentation. You are presenting because your know more about it than others in the room and are happy to share your knowledge. Slow down, breathe, and smile directly at individuals–rather than making you more nervous, it will help calm you down because our natural human response when someone smiles at us is to smile back–a confidence boost!! Go slay…..
Thank you for your advice and encouragement! I feel better already 😀
Good luck with your presentation prep! I feel the same about Poudre. It’s always been my preference over No. 19 (she ducks, she weaves, she bobs).
Thank youuuu
Deep breaths! You’ll do great I’m sure.
Thank you and fingers crossed!
You will do great. Spend a few seconds after you set up and before you start talking to ‘take in the room’. Stand firmly so you feel your weight on both feet, and body strength, and look around to gain attention…then what Jepster said…
I will do that! Thank you for the advice!
Adding my good wishes and positive vibes for a successful presentation next week. Adding a 🤗 for good measure!
Thank you so much!
You’re going to do a great job! You’ve received some great advice here, you’re working hard on the presentation, and you know your stuff! Go get ’em!
I have a few drops of late-nineties or early-aughts Antaeus left but I’m saving them, so I’m in my only other Chanel, No. 5 EDT from the same time. I hate to say it, but although it really is good, 1) it can’t compare to the late-eighties extrait (which I still remember dreamily — it was SO refined) and 2) it’s a little on the dull side next to the incendiary Guerlain Vega and Clinique Wrappings, both of which are obvious spins on the basic Chanel structure only more more more.
Still, y’know, No. 5 is always good.
Cristalle is not what it once was either. But few things are…
Couldn’t agree more. This one made my heart actually ache in the 1990s. It was sexy and irresistible. The new version, which I own (sigh), is a flat cologne imho.
SOTD is 31 RC. My very favorite of the Chanel fragrances.
I loved the sample I had of that!
That was my second choice for today…you smell great.
So, I’m not a Chanel fan, but I’ve accumulated a few samples and decants over the years, mostly from freebiemeets. I do own a tiny mini bottle of Sycomore, and I have three decants that I purchased when TPC was selling Chanel. Of those, I have a small decant of No. 19 edt, which has the galbanum that more recent versions of No. 19 do not have. Since I’m on a galbanum kick, that is what I’m wearing, and double points for me.
It should be triple points when you’re not even a Chanel fan, right?
I’m not a Chanel fan either but am a huge galbanum fan, so great choice! 👍
Good stuff!
In Chanel No.19 EdT for the cp. My favorite scent from Chanel.
So glad is Friday! The heat and humidity are back and still no rain in the horizon. On my third cup of iced coffee and looking forward to a relaxing weekend!
Happy Friday! 🌞
I hope your Friday goes quickly for you, pl67! 😊
Hope so too! Counting the hours! 😊
At least the forecast doesn’t show any of those temps in the upper 90’s coming back! That was not fun at all.
Twins, Robin! I’m wearing the vintage Cristalle edt as well.
I’m immensely enjoying this beautiful sunny day with nary a cloud in the brilliant blue sky! Happy Friday, all!
Hey twin!! Wearing this makes me feel younger, probably because I wore it so much in my late teens / early 20s.
Yep, I wore it a lot in my twenties too! I’m older than you – I was 19 when it was released in 1974 and I didn’t discover it until 1977 when I returned from a few years abroad.
I honestly don’t remember how I first smelled it, but I am guessing we found it around the same time.
Spent major money at the vet today. Most of it was towards getting the heartworm prevention stuff. Paid some pesky bills. After yesterday’s original Coco wearing, I am in no 19 edp today. The edp is easier to wear than the edt.
Sorry to hear about your vet bills and that I missed being Coco twins with you by a day.
Boo on pesky bills, but at least they’re paid, right?
We’re twins!
Happy Friday! We woke up to the sound of rain and it feels very fresh.
Wearing vintage Coco circa 1984 when it was launched, a gift from a friend whose mother passed away. I have never been a big fan of the current versions of Coco but this is love, love and more love.
Ohhhhhhhh you smell wonderful!
Vintage Coco is a marvel. You smell wonderful!
The original was wondrous. How lucky you are to have some, and how good you smell!
Am also in vintage Coco.! This one from the early 90’s. Gift from brother in law. Wonderful stuff. And nothing like todays
Me too! Vintage Coco. Golly we smell delish.
Twins with Carole in Box of Eels. After putting it off a month, I finally spent an hour organizing the tools in the garage. The job’s not finished, but I made a slight dent. If I can do an hour a day that would be great. Might take a week.
Good for you, working on your tools! I have mine all in the same “vicinity”, shall we say. I have a toolbox from my dad’s house, so just need to cubbify the squoodles of stuff.
You smell lovely today!
I put all the saws in one place, all the “tighteners” like wrenches, sockets, and screwdrivers in one drawer, and “electrical” in another. I still have plumbing, drywall, tile, and the dreaded misc. hardware to organize. It’s a big job!
Oh my goodness, good for you!
I’m scent free this morning. But I have a question for all you knowledgeable folks. Is it possible to truly clean a small 10m atomizer of a previous scent? And if so how? I have several nice heavy plastic atomizers I’d like to refill with something different, but I’m not sure I can completely clean out the earlier frag. Or do I just need to start new? Thanks.
In my experience, plastic is nearly impossible to clean of scent and that applies in particular to the tube and sprayer. I would start over.
I have 10ml refillable atomizers that I bought years ago to make my own travel sprays. They have pretty silver and gold metal casings.I usually wear my “volcanic” gloves, fill them up with boiled hot water, screw on the sprayer and spray spray spray untill only air poofs out. That seems to be very effective and might somewhat sterilize the insides as well.I’ve never had a fragrance spoil or smell wonky when I use them.✌🏻
I think JB’s method might work for you. I have had reasonable success getting scent out of those little plastic decanting funnels by soaking them in very hot tap water for a few days, renewing the water at intervals. But a funnel is shaped such that the water can get to all of its surfaces easily, while atomizers are not. I say give his boiling-water method a try!
IMHO if you are making a decant for yourself, why not try. If you’re making for someone else, I wouldn’t. I do not personally believe you can 100% clean perfume from plastic.
Thank you for the tips and advice. I tried the hot water method and it didn’t really work, hence my asking if there was a better idea. I think I will just start fresh. I just hated the idea that the atomizers aren’t reusable unless you have the same frag. I like the small atomizers when I travel.
You should look into some glass ones with casings, like the ones I have. They are 10mls and the casings protect from breakage and light, and they were like $1 each when I purchased them.
You could try filling them with plain rubbing alcohol, letting them sit for a while, and then spraying it all out.
Happy Friday y’all! I’m in Chance this morning from a tiny and cute rollerball. After my workout and shower, I’ll be in a few dabs of vintage No. 5 parfum from a sample gifted to me from a wonderful NSTer.
Going to a luau lunch today with friends. I’ll be in a batik print turquoise and celadon shorts set that I bought on Kauai, so I’ll fit right in! 🏝 ☀️
Vintage no 5 is wonderful no matter what concentration.
Oh fun, enjoy the lunch! Your outfit sounds great.
I never knew that I really wanted to go to a luau lunch, but now I do!
I feel a little dumb asking you for this, but could you repeat your recipe for vanilla salt? My vanilla bean order is arriving today! (I have no affiliation, but I LOVE this company, that also sells beautifully fragrant saffron, and vanilla extract, etc. https://saffron.com/)
What kind of salt do you use” Big Maldon flakes, regular sea salt, kosher salt? Fine granulated table salt? How much per bean and how long do you let it sit before using? I know you told me, but I can’t find where. I am sure that others will be curious as well. I can’t wait to try it in my oatmeal.
No worries! I used a salt that most closely resembles Diamond kosher salt in texture and size, in a 2.25oz. jar. You can use one bean or two, if you want more pronounced vanilla flavor. Leave it for a week or so before using, and shake or stir it every so often during that time.
The luau lunch sounds AWESOME!
A luau lunch sounds amazeballs!
Bois de Isle from a very small sample I have been rationing.
It is Friday on the first full week of teaching, it may take more than perfume to lift me up, it is especially exhausting this year. I think last year the kids were so glad to be back in person that behaviors in my room were much better.
Hope you can relax tomorrow.
nope, lesson planning for next week
Hugs. At least the week is over, right?
I’ll take my two points for No. 19 EDT, and add half a point because it’s vintage!! A perfect summer day here, can’t wait to get outside. Hope everyone enjoys the day….
Perfect Summer day twins!
Sharing the glorious summer weather with you both!
CP compliant in Le Lion today.
We’re finally blowing this pop stand and currently loading up to move out. Have no idea where we’ll end up and don’t have any firm plans. Not the best scenario these days, I will admit. Woke to rain, which will hopefully be followed by a bit of cool air, burned my toast, then a plop of jam fell on coral maxi. Hope that’s not an indication Of the way my day will be playing out! 😃
Smell well, y’all!!
You smell amazing at the very least!
I always think that a bad start gets rid of any bad luck and the rest of the day will go well. Like if your flight is cancelled, then the replacement plane won’t crash. That has always been true in my case. So far.
Yes, that’s the way to look at it!!
Good luck Deva, hope you find the perfect spot.
Sending a 🤗 and wishes for a better day ahead; hope you’re feeling better each day.
The journey is the destination, Deva!
This job feels like it’s taking forever! Still in SW Louisiana. I’m still not tired of cajun food, though. Shrimp every day!
If I were home with my perfume collection, I’d be smelling great in vintage Chanel No 19 edt today. Since I’m not, I’m smelling great in Lorenzo Villoresi Spezie. Happy Friday everyone!
Enjoy the food if not the job! 🦐
Sorry the work is dragging. Glad the food helps.
I wouldn’t mind leaving my perfume collection for awhile for Cajun food!
Cajun food with loads of local shrimp? My mouth is watering at the mere thought! 😋
I’ll take one point for Chanel Coromandel, thanks!
A very well done patchouli.I truly did overspray as someone working at the drugstore came in from outside and loudly pronounced “who sprayed so much perfume!!?” and hastily put her face mask on with clear disgust.LOL.
Obviously it was me(we were only 2 other people there and I am sure the senior citizen infront of me was not the culprit,he did not look like a fraghead…)
I wasn’t planning on leaving the house, plus wonky sprayerhead of ANOTHER $$$$$ Chanel bottle made me crank up the sprays to nuclear level so yes,I am guilty.
Bad Perfumisa,badd!!
HAPPY WEEKEND BOYS AND GIRLS!
XO’s🌹
Bad, but in such a good way! 🙂
Exactly! 😀
Haha!Agreed!!🥳
Lol! I can smell you from here!
jk… you smell great!🌞
Just ordered the Velvet Coffee scrub from Ulta…saw your comments and am trying to usher in autumn ASAP! 😉 🍂
Thanks! It’s so beautiful,I’m really peeved at her reaction honestly!Lol
You smell great of course and I bet that Karen is selective in her pronouncements. I also don’t think she would have successfully negated the smell, even with a properly-fitted N95 mask because you cannot hastily put it on!
It was a plain 3-ply mask with elastics,I don’t know why they even bother with those flimsy ones at all.She came back from her smoke-break,I saw her hunched behind the building double-clutching when I drove up.As a fellow smoker I CAN declare that stale tobacco smell as worse than my wonderfully obnoxious Coromandel…
Total Karen,YESS!🤣🤣
😹👍
You smell great! Who cares what that killjoy thinks?!?
SOTM is the very lovely Bel Respiro, because my brain wanted its fresh, slightly bitter green-ness. Later on, when I’m more awake and able to properly appreciate it, I’ll switch to vintage 19 EDT for the CP. Happy Friday everyone!
That’s way extra points SheriG!
I’ll take them! I did switch to vintage EDT midday, and am now (at bedtime) in the modern EDT formulation. Happy birthday, Coco!
🙂
Chanel Paris Paris today.
mmmm delish.
I commented to lillyjo above that I placed an Ulta order this morning for the Tree Hut Velvet Coffee body scrub she commented about in the past week and, an hour or two later, they sent me a $15 off $50 coupon including prestige fragrance and brands. Ye cruel Algorithm Gods! 😆 Appears to be a unique code so be on the look out in case you are pondering an order soon too. Don’t fret, I still have a week to use said new code. 😉
Oh I hope you like it!
That’s a great coupon. It must be special for you. The prestige one’s are few and far between.
I need to try that today. It sounds so good.
SOTD = Chanel No.19 EDP
The modern one is perfect! I am claiming triple points because I managed to pick August 19th as my work anniversary.
https://www.instagram.com/p/ChcqA-QutaO/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Looking forward to seeing what people picked for today!
I agree modern No. 19 is perfect! You smell wonderful, and happy job anniversary – you always seem to be making the most of your job on good and bad days!
Thank you, MossyBerry! I love it when the modern formulation of an older perfume smells just as good!
That’s a GOOD work anniversary! I can never remember mine (sometime in April) and always panic when asked on some form or another.
So true, very easy to remember!
Oh wow!Happy work-anniversary,mine is 3/01.(15 years at current company this year!)
You smell lovely.
🌹✌🏻
15 years!? You can’t possibly be old enough for that — you had to have started work there when you were 10! 😜
Hahaha!I turned 46 in June!🙈🙈🙈
JB, we are age twins!! And I’ve also been at my work place for about the same amount of time as you.
I know, right?
😀
Thank you, J B! And I agree with SheriG about the impossibility of you having worked for 15 years!
Working at the same place for 15 years is practically unheard of these days!
Happy anniversary twin!
Woo hoo! I am in good company!
Hiya scent twin!
Indeed we are!
Congrats on the triple points!
Thank you!
SOTD a freshly unwrapped bottle of Allure Sensuelle I was gifted for Christmas two winters ago.
And a new shade bleu carbon eyeliner and Chanel bronzer and caramel lipgloss.
WOW.
You look and smell GREAT!
Marvelous!
Lovely! All of it!
Bleu carbon eyeliner intrigues me. Off to Google I go….
Well, I have nothing special to do today, so I spent the morning deliberating which CHANEL to wear. (I worked in a law office and a couple with family in France had the attorney put their last names in all capital letters because that is the way official documents are done in France. I never knew that.) After re/discovering how wonderful several Les Exclusives samples were, I was tempted to go to the next one. All along I planned to wear Allure epd. Always eyeing those important CP points, I considered my well-loved No. 19 edp. But I then I saw: Coco Noir! I will smell good from now until tomorrow. Tomorrow is actually better with this one, so I might best have worn it yesterday. 🙂 Happy FriYAY to all.
Coco Noir, nice!
Coco Noir is excellent.
I’m wearing a sample of Paris-Paris. My toes are painted in Chanel’s New Dawn.
Happy Friday everyone!
Nice color choice for the toes!!
Yes: I’m a boy who sometimes wear nail polish.Haha! My favorite that is always in the cupboard is Chanel Vendetta, rich sparkly purple.
XO
I think you have just given me my first OMG a moment of my life. Like OMG!!! ( sparkles!!! Purple!!!) That is a great colour. And so is New Dawn, of course. No offence.
Haha!
Glad to spread the joy!🌹✌🏻
Oooh, Vendetta sounds like fun. I always find it so striking when men wear nail polish!
I mostly keep polish on the toes because I’m so rough with my hands that polish never seems worth the effort.
I’m a theatre nurse so Vendetta is reserved for weekends when I have fun activities planned.Sunday eve it must then come off…😭😭
I don’t paint my fingernails either, since it never seems to last more than a couple of days. I can easily get a week or two out of a pedicure.
In copious amounts of vintage Coco. I applied liberally, and then decanted most of what I have left in splash bottle into a spray bottle, which of course meant more perfume on my hands and fingers. You can probably smell me from wherever you are!
This is probably only news to me. But this AM I was sending perfume recs to a friend for perfumes like Santal that are a little different, more adventuresome. (I own Santal, no shade here!) So I told her to try She Was an Anomaly and Dzongkha. But then when I looked up the latter, I could barely find it anywhere. There is hope as it is still on the L’Artisan website, but “out of stock.” Perhaps it is a temporary sourcing issue.
https://www.selfridges.com/US/en/cat/lartisan-parfumeur-dzongkha-eau-de-toilette-100ml_R03738319/
Maybe?
Oh, that reminds me. I was meant to try Santal 33 because I haven’t smelled it…I can add it to my perfume list today.
Not sure if Dzongkha has been discontinued or not.
I smell you, Twin!
No points for me. Wore Fille en Aiguilles in the morning after making a decant for a fellow parfumista. Now Fils de Dieu for the evening after my shower. So i was wearing a Fils and a Fille today accidentally.
I like that!
Mon Dieu! Love Fils de Dieu!
Hello and happy Friday!
1) Am in Gabrielle Essence, a gorgeous, unsweet floral- a couple of spritzes that are good on this strangely humid and overcast summer day.
2) Having my friends’ daughter come by on Sunday, along with her friends I am sure, so need to make sure I have enough refreshments in the house!
I am a fan of Gabrielle Essence. It seems to be a perfume for all seasons. Have a happy weekend!
I spent yesterday afternoon loitering in perfume shops. First up was Chanel where I tried Lion, 1922 and 1932. I tested the first on skin, and the others on card so went next door to Tiffany’s for twenty minutes of browsing while I pondered. Then I pondered some more and went to a bakery for a delicious Tamarillo shortcake. Bit more pondering at another perfume shop where I tried all the Fort and Manle , and another store where I sprayed CDG Peppermint, then another where I tried Martin Margiela Bubble Bath and Diptyque Ilio limited edition, because that is a cute bottle. Still pondering Lion, which was still going strong, I went to the art gallery and mooched about. Started pondering 1932 with intent. Went back to Chanel. Exhausting. Got a sample of Lion, No.5 and a round metal badge with a Chanel bottle on it(!?) Ate a bowl of dumplings. Kind of repeated all the above and went for a lie down. Wearing Lion this morning from my sample. May repeat the perfume exercise routine later. I think 1932 is winning.
Well, you definitely deserved a badge, and dumplings!
I was limping by the end. That’s the problem if you only get to a city with perfume shops once every two or three years.
I hear you. But your afternoon of loitering sounds divine! I will imagine myself having a similar afternoon.
I’m fairly close to most of the major perfumeries, but I don’t go that often anymore. When I do venture out,I’m like Grenouille in that movie, greedily seeking out all the smells, testing everything and spraying with reckless abandon!FUN!
Then I go home with sore feet,I migraine and some Krispy Kreme donuts.
I get you.🤣✌🏻🌹
And then …repeat……
I need to add the donuts today.
Sounds like a fabulous day!
Dumplings and Chanel. It doesn’t get better than that.
My perfume cabinet is fairly light on Chanel scents (I might have a sample here or there), so I’m wearing Copal Azur, which I find very reliable.
The female kittens have been spayed (Wednesday), and are still recovering. I managed to get two of them into onesies, but Woolly Bully was simply NOT HAVING IT. I’m sure my attempts to simultaneously get her head and all of her legs into the various holes was comical to watch. Cashmere managed to wriggle out of hers by Day Two, with the help of Easy-Peasy, who strongly objected to any of his siblings wearing weird-smelling clothes. He kept attacking the velcro fasteners and trying to tear them off with his teeth. Turtle managed to stay in hers until this morning. I’m going to keep a close eye on them, to make sure they don’t lick incessantly at their sutures.
Happy Friday, everybody!
You are the best kitty momma, Lisa D!
Love the kitty update!You’re awesome.🌹
Wow, what an awesome kitty mom you are!😻
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/68/Beatrix_Potter_-_The_Tale_of_Tom_Kitten_-_Illustration_from_p_41.jpg
I should have gotten them capes, instead! Too cute.
Oh those babies are giving you a run for your money! You many have explained before and I missed it, but are these onesies extra super-duper small for human premies or are they specifically made for kittens…? I’m trying to to wrap my heads around a human onesie on a kitten because I think most premies in NICU just wear a small diaper and nothing else because of stable incubator temps, monitoring equipment and IV access…where does the tail go?
Deva, there are special cat onsies. There’s a hole for the tail to go thru. I’ve seen them on the “Love and HIsses” website, when nursing momma kitties are trying to wean the kittens.
Hope you don’t mind me butting in, Lisa D!
Not at all, Jalapeño! Here’s a link, Deva:
https://smile.amazon.com/kzrfojy-Professional-Abdominal-Alternative-Grey-Blue/dp/B09BFVXTCV/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1JUO2X7J5VGB1&keywords=cat+onesies&qid=1660945404&sprefix=cat+onesies%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
Bet you are glad that all the spaying and neutering is done! Hope the girl kittehs heal quickly.
I’ve seen pictures of inflatable donuts that are used instead of those “Cones of Shame”. Never used one, so I have no idea if they work or not.
Aww..I had my vet put the onesie on for me right after surgery. So she was returned to me already onesied. It had snap closures. Hopefully they will all recover soon!
Smart move — I should have thought of that!
He offered to do it, he could probably tell I didn’t wanna mess with it lol. They gave her pain meds to take home too. She was adorable in her camoflauge onesie. Was glad when the recovery part was over with. Rooting for all your new sweeties:)
Thank you on behalf of kitty lovers everywhere!
I had a delicious frozen mango and yogurt smoothie yesterday, tonight it’s back to fresh 🍓 and banana.
I went all make-up, powder today with Misia edp for the CP and this evening it’s Carita edp, it is very heliotrope forward which makes it smell like almond, it’s also pretty rozy, I wear it too seldom.
Oeeeeee….Carita!
Tell me more!
I’m always looking for a really good heliotrope/almond concoction.
😃 The heliotrope is very prominent, the scent is almost edible, powdery but it is balanced by the florals especially the rose.
Heure d’ Nuit is the best for that combo
Is this the Carita in the blue, triangular bottle?! During my move a few months ago, I found my very ancient bottle of Carita. It still smells good, although maybe a bit deeper/stronger than I remember and with some of the lighter top notes not as apparent.
Ah, you have the first version, mine is the 2012 one by Alberto Morillas.
I have to look up all things Alberto
He did a great job with this one.
Heliotrope seems to be something I enjoy more in cool, rainy weather.
The weather had changed, it’s quite cool and threatening rain which is a good thing.
You have an incredible collection of perfumes. 😲🤩
😃 Thank you, I have around 150 in the apartment and the same on the balcony, it’s more than enough now and I plan to to go on a no-buy soon.
For today’s cp, I’m enjoying Chanel Misia. Although it’s a little warm today for a powdery scent, I love violet as a fragrance note, and I’m wearing purple, so that’s my choice.
We had a wonderful week away, the first in a long time – just not having to cook, clean, do laundry and feed 😻😻😻was a welcome treat! Despite not very good weather, the Wisconsin folkfest was awesome, a highlight of which was a performance by Robbie Fulks, and the opportunity to chat with this equally gracious and talented musician afterwards. His song, ‘That’s Where I’m From,’ touched me deeply, and he told me he wrote it after he left his country roots behind and moved to suburbia to give his kids a better life. Speaking as a city kid myself, you don’t have to be ‘country’ to appreciate the beauty and poignancy of this song – if as an adult you’ve moved far away from your childhood origins to give your kids a better life, you’ll understand.

🌞 and temps in the 70’s greeted us in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where we spent a few peaceful days relaxing at our neighbor’s log home on a beautiful lake – I forgot what ‘quiet’ sounds like!
Hoping to get to our last local concert of the season tonight before we settle in for the weekend. Wishing everyone a good one!🎶
Your breakaway sounds like it was food for the soul.
Which concert is up next?
For me, music is always food for the soul!
Retro-Cool 🎶 is what’s on tap for tonight. A local group playing dance music from the 1950’s-60’s (including vintage guitars, drums and period clothes!); we’ve seen them before and they’re such fun! There are so many talented musicians who are affordable to see and greatly appreciative of their fans; they enjoy talking to us afterwards as much as we enjoy talking to them.
Chanel Sycamore. I love this beautiful scent
Happy Friday !
that is a nice one, calming if I recall correctly
Happy Friday! No access to Chanel so I’m in Santal Pao Rosa.
Santal Pao Rosa was the perfect perfume for November in Vermont. And Thanksgiving with a potentially difficult relative…
I’m having such a slow start to Saturday morning that I haven’t even thought about the day’s perfume yet. It’s still raining, but supposed to stop later today. Maybe Ormond Jayne Ta’if, a quiet day at home will be a good chance to really focus on it. It’s my latest FB purchase, so I can revel in spraying rather than dabbing 🙂
Ta’if is so beautiful! I had a great time writing about it two years ago, in my “Roses de Mai Marathon”, if you’re interested: https://scentsandsensibilities.co/2020/05/20/rose-de-mai-marathon-taif/. Enjoy your quiet day and lovely fragrance!
Double CP points for me, in Chanel No. 19 vintage edt! It’s one of my all-time favorites, so today was a good excuse to pull it out. Not that No. 19 needs (or makes) any excuses.
19 made a good showing today 🙂
Like several others, I’m in vintage Chanel No. 19 edt. I went in with 8 sprays, maybe a few more! Happy Friday everyone.
8 is serious business!
Busy day today! Two loads of dishes done (so far, hope there isn’t a third), and a taco meatloaf made for dinner. The cats enjoy “Meatloaf Day”, since it means they get a bit of a favorite human food: sour cream.
Gorgeous weather here for a late summer day.
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EdP, courtesy of hajusuuri. I doubled down on the green with the Wrappings lotion on my shins this morning. So 3x points? 😉
Forgot to add this little gem to my initial post:
http://www.grimmy.com/images/MGG_Archive/MGG_2022/MGG-2022-08-09.gif
Ugh! Replied as a separate comment in error! Here’s what I said:
Heh! Triple points it is! It was not so nice here with the humidity. Cooling rain is what I want.
Did not really notice humidity here. But I was also focused on the things I wanted to get done today.
Wait..taco meatloaf? That sounds darned good. A fat, meatloaf slice shoved in a shell..with nacho cheese and a soft shell over that. I may need to do this lol
You’re close. The meatloaf itself contains crushed tortilla chips, taco seasoning, shredded cheese, and chopped onion. Me being me, I add in a hefty amount of chilies. It’s such a hit that I might have to start doubling the recipe.
Yes, triple points!
Thank you! 😄
Heh! Triple points it is! It was not so nice here with the humidity. Cooling rain is what I want.
Commando but maybe some Beige soon:). Ughhhhh I went outside for what I was hoping quiet..then bam 3 leaf blowers turned on right by me..I hate those things! Whatever happened to rakes? Plus..there are no leaves here, it’s the desert. They are just blowing around bubblegum wrappers, and gravel lolol..they just blew crap right on me as he didn’t see me ..haha..at least he apologized LOL. Definitely will need some Chanel now..and Calgon? Dating myself LOL. At least I didn’t get hit with those empty McDonald’s fry holders bumbling around..almost LOL.
Absolutely with you 100 percent on those d@mn3d leaf blowers! HATE them!!!
Walked to work and back, then was supposed to go sailing this evening but that was a no-go because of HABs (harmful algal blooms) in our lake, so we just had our potluck, instead. I therefore was commando for almost the whole day, but now that I’ve showered, I will dab on some No.5 parfum for bedtime. That feels wonderfully decadent!
Aw, that’s a shame you couldn’t go sailing. Glad you got to have a potluck anyway, that’s always fun.
I made it to Armenia one week ago, took a tour in the mountains , visited Monasteries from 7 th , 11th century, had an amazing time.
I am now back in the city and have access to Internet. I am wearing the only Chanel I have with me, a sample of Gabrielle.
Hera, that must have been wonderful — I am envious!
