It's Friday and Josephine Baker Day. Happy 76th birthday to Cher! Plus, happy World Bee Day. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with a honey note or wear a fragrance inspired by wildflowers, or celebrate World Bee Day in some other way. (We did a honey project in 2017.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm almost forgot there was honey in Astier de Villatte Grand Chalet. I am wearing a drop since I haven't much left, and once again thinking I should really buy a bottle. (Same old story.)
Reminder: 5/27 is the start of Memorial Day weekend in the US. On Monday, we'll observe Memorial Day, but for today, we're celebrating the holiday's other meaning, as the unofficial beginning of summer. (In olden times, you could only wear white shoes between Memorial Day and Labor Day.) Wear something that fits your plans for Summer 2022! (If it's winter where you are, adjust accordingly.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try (but obviously sometimes fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Not on project because I’m in Champagne, the obvious choice for such a momentous occasion as closing on one’s first house. It is expected to snow later today when it was in the high 80s yesterday. Our winter things were one of the first things we packed so had to dig through some boxes for a jacket. Since Grand Chalet basically means big house, I ‘m planning on making it the first perfume I buy after we move 😊
Congratulations on your new house!
Congratulations on your first house! Hope you don’t get a hand cramp from all that paper signing.😉
Congratulations! 🔑
Congratulations on your new house! May all go well.

Hurray! Congrats on your new house!
Nothing like that first house purchase! So exciting thinking about all the choices in decorating and making it uniquely yours. Congrats! 🎉

I hope you have many happy days in your new house
All excellent!!

Congratulations! 🎈🎊✨🍻
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to you!
Cher! What an icon. I can still remember watching the Sonny & Cher show back in the mid 70’s.
I’d have gone with either Beige or Chergui to be cp compliant, but I’m out of Beige, and wasn’t feeling Chergui with this morning’s humidity so I’m in Sur Le Nil. New bottle! Just in time for the splitmeet.😀
Today is my Saturday and I’m on staycation until the 31st. Woo hoo! Plan on spending some time with my college girl and then I’ll take her up north next week for her summer camp job and visit my parents for a couple of days. I haven’t seen them in person since October. Looking forward to seeing them.
Happy Friday!
Enjoy your holiday! I remember watching Sonny & Cher in the 70’s too.
Of course I remember watching that show! And congrats on your new bottle and your staycation.
I totally remember the show!
It’s the reason I love Bob Mackie so much. Have a super great staycation!
Absolutely I remember that show! I also recall that Sonny and Cher were in a Scooby Doo episode. The 70’s had some odd stuff on TV (see: H.R. Pufnstuf).
Oh my goodness! H.R. Pufnstuf!
One of my most cherished childhood t.v shows.
Gosh, I can think of part of the jingle but nothing else about the show.
I saw part of an episode in the early 2000’s and it was some seriously trippy stuff. I still remembered Witchy-Poo, and her Vroom Broom from my childhood viewings!
I cleaned up my perfume closet and wearing a mix of several bottles that had only one or two drops left.
Prada Infusion de rose, Dior La colle noire, Vintage Balenciaga Le Dix and Chanel No. 19 edc vintage. The mix smells very nice.
Perfume Spring Clean! Well done
Sounds like a nice mix! I love a good clean out.
Ooh, I bet it does!
Mmm, very brave LeDix, one of the first fragrances I loved!
Don’t know how my typing ‘vintage’ became ‘very brave?’ Weird!
I’m wearing Zoologist Bee today and I bet I’m not the only one!
I’m wanting to get to a couple estate sales this morning but my poor kitty was sick all over the place during the night and I now have a ton of laundry to get going. And dishes leftover from last night. Once I get done with everything, then I’ll get going as my reward. Happy Friday NST!
Hello twin!
Poor kitty indeed!! Good luck with the laundry.
I hope your kitty is OK. I have one who has been throwing up quite a lot lately, but fortunately, only on the floor. I think he simply gobbles down his food too quickly, but I can’t figure out a good way to slow him down. I can try offering him less food, but with other cats around and eating nearby, that’s hard.
I have the same problem with one of mine. She literally inhales her food.
I know that there are puzzle feeders for dogs that inhale kibble. I don’t know if they are made small enough for cats.
Aw, hope kitty is feeling better. 🤞
Poor kitty, and poor you! Good luck with all the cleanup.
Good morning and TGIF!
Sotd is Bee. Hello to my Bee twins 👋.
My cactuses have been blooming and I stayed up all night watching them. Now I am groggy. 😅
To those that are unfamiliar, the flowers, also called Queen of the Night, blooms for only one night and only during midnight. The blossoms are white and very elegant. Sadly, they wilt by sunrise.
Currently drinking rooibos with honey.
Good for you, seizing the moment!
What fun you got to see them, but I bet you are really groggy!
Ooh nice. They are such pretty blooms and they smell lovely. Do you have the tall cactus type or the low to the ground with a wide spread succulent type? My mom’s neighbor has the latter.
I wonder which type are in the perfume by Grandiflora, which I just love.
I have the latter as well. Cute round bulbs!
Ooh nice. There’s some place up along the North Shore where my mom goes that has a whole raised bed of them. She likes to visit when they are in bloom. The horticultural group called them night blooming cereus.
Dior Addict has Night Blooming Cereus as note, according to Fragrantica. I bet seeing and smelling them in person is amazing!
That sounds incredible. So glad you saw it
Sounds (smells?) like those flowers were well worth staying up for!
Definitely worth staying up for!
I’m wearing Prairie Nymph, from Smell Bent. It has both honey and beeswax, so it it on point. I can’t decide if I need another bottle of this, since Smell Bent is closing down. I love it, but it is too sweet to wear often.
That sounds lovely, I never tried that one.
Hi twin! I’m having the same debate today.
It’s such a powerful perfume that it can be hard to wear. It’s good though. I’d buy a back up as the price is good. I wish they still had Jasmine Tobacco
No honey today but bee-friendly in Atelier des Ors Blanc Polychrome. It’s going to freeze the next few nights where I live but hopefully no snow. After this weekend it should be warm enough to plant the garden and I will be able to buy flowers, yay!
Yay for planting the garden!
Shockingly, my tuberose bulbs have sprouted and hoping I can move them to the front porch soon.
Saved Ellis Brooklyn Bee for today so CP compliant. Second go with this sample and still think it might be too sweet on me…
That is often the problem with honey fragrances.
Scents may be off the table for me, but I always have jars of varietal honey and blends for teas or cooking/baking around. My top two:
* Big Island bees Wililaiki honey (peppery finish, great for grilled dishes). They have a few Hawaiian flora specific types. My care packages from HI usually include a jar or two, lol.
* Heemans Watermelon blossom honey (lightly fragrant watermelon scent, lovely in tea or drizzled over yogurt mousse). It’s a local garden center and pick your own berries place that sells a few things for your pantry and bar. Their mead and ciders are really nice too.
I chose Guerlain Rose Barbare for the CP — I figure roses and honey ought to attract a few bees! There aren’t a whole lot of things in my perfume closet that have a honey note, so when I stumbled across mention that Rose Barbare actually has a one I had to unearth the tiny decant (it’s in a very cute little 3 ml rollerball). And it’s a bit of a mystery — I can’t find a record of where or from whom I acquired it, or the dabbers of Jicky and Vol de Nuit that are in the same little ziplock, all with matching labels. 🤷♀️ But no matter — it’s fate, I guess, and I’m really enjoying it!
You smell great, if my bottle wasn’t packed away I’d join you.
Ah, good choice:). Great scent.
I have always found that some chypres have a honey note to them: whether that’s some inherent quality of oakmoss or because those scents also contain phenylacetate I couldn’t say, but it’s always a pleasant surprise. Today I’m in probably my favourite honey chypre, Boucheron Pour Homme edp, which I thought was *wildly* grownup back in 1991 when I was still in my twenties and knew nothing. Even now, decades later, it strikes me as sophisticated, with the bone structure of a classic men’s cologne but the heart of a seventies floral chypre.
I thought the same as well. Looked up the notes on Chypre Mousse last night and could have sworn there was honey in there, but nope. At least it’s not in the note list…
True re the chypres. Do own Ungaro’s Diva, which features a prominent honey note to my nose, but wasn’t up for it this morning (medical appt + fasting for the blood draw). Will now make up for the suffering with a substantial lunch, haha.
Yep — Diva is definitely one of the honey chypres, and it’s so beautiful (but you really do have to be up for it: it’s a lot).
I was going to dig through my SL samples today, as that was my best bet at finding something with a honey note, but…no time to pull out all the samples. Cleaners are coming.
So I’m in CBIHP A Room with a View, thinking that it smells like a place bees might like to be.
Happy Friday!
Hey, it really does! You smell great.
Wearing one spritz of Slowdive, usually a bedtime scent for me. It’s nice if heavy, and apparently I am using about 1 ml per year since I am only halfway through my travel spray.
You smell great! Love Slowdive.
I understand they have great perfumes, but have never tried any of them. I am sure I would love Moon Bloom. Not sure about Slowdive.
I love Slowdive. I have 2 samples of of it; still working on the first one. It’s such a plush scent; spraying it must be amazing. I have the dabber samples and it lasts all day and night on my wrists.
Still having troubles with post nasal drip and now my asthma. So wearing perfume is out of the question today and it sucks. I would rather be wearing no 5 edt.
Feel better soon, Dawn!
Aw, hope you feel better soon 🤗
No. 5 will wait for you to feel better. Get well.
So sorry Dawn!
All my perfumes are packed away so I’m wearing a decant of Dulcis in Fundo. Not a honey scent but definitely sweet enough to attract bees.
I hope the bees like your scent
Strong, gusty winds today kicking up lots of dirt/dust. Zoologist Bee here, however, my sample has darkened quite a bit and has gotten syrupy. Kinda yucky to spray on. Doesn’t smell too different just looks different lol.
I heard if one wants to attract bees and butterflies, plant some milk thistle. 🐝 Thank you honey bees, for all you do for us:).
Oh..speaking of BEES or related to bees..I saw, what is called, a Tarantula Hawk Bee/ Wasp. Like a week ago. It was HUGE. I thought it was a small bird at first..but as it got closer..the body and orange wings were unmistakable. It’s supposed to be one of the worst stings in the world. It’s prey, tarantulas. A bee that eats a tarantula alive..yep, it’s a pretty large bee. It’s apparently not interested in humans and leave them alone. The one I ran into was very much just focused on it’s own buisness..hovering close to the ground looking for, likely, dinner. Amazing looking but quite intense.
The less intimidating, Blue Mud Dauber Wasp..is another that I have come across not long ago. Quite a pretty color, dark metallic blue.
The bee world is quite fascinating.
If I’d seen that Tarantula Hawk thing I’d be having nightmares for a month! Yikes!
Any place that has enough tarantulas to support a species that preys on tarantulas is a place I will actively avoid! I get squeamish with a daddy long-legs.
LOL…yes, good way to plan a life!
I love the bee and wasp world. But I struggle to appreciate the *details* of how some live, like one of our giant local wasps called the Cicada Killer. They are frightening to see but ignore humans as they go about…well ‘nuf said. I’ll take honeybees please and thank you. 😀
It’s no accident that the giant creatures in the Alien movies were based on wasps.
I happened to be “lucky” enough to be in AZ in the fall a couple years ago. That’s tarantula breeding season and they were ALL OVER! I find them fascinating so wasn’t bothered but most everyone else was high stepping with their eyes continually sweeping the ground on high alert. A couple didn’t zip their tent up when they got up in the morning and quite a surprise when they found 6 tarantulas in their tent. 🤣
6 in the tent? Yikes! Reminds me of the old movie, Kingdom of the Spiders with William Shatner:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xb73u3
If I ever saw one of those bee’s or a tarantula I would move to the North Poll. Immediately!
Pole… lol
I am going to look up this 🐝
Never heard of this.
I lived in rural AZ for a year in student housing, where we were *not great* about keeping doors closed, etc. More than once, a tarantula got in the house and caused a roommate fight over whose fault it was and who was going to chase it out. They really were pretty docile tho. It was the scorpions that gave me nightmares. Those monsters are aggressive!
Speaking of odd insects, it’s about time for the hummingbird moths to frequent our garden. It looks like the lovechild of a bumblebee, moth and hummingbird.
Oh yes, I saw one of those last year in the area as well. I thought it was a hummingbird at first..but the wings flapped slower..and just didn’t look quite like a bird. I couldn’t figure out what it was until I googled.
Lol, same here… it was just so odd looking. The hummingbirds that frequent our yard are much more territorial.
This whole thread is going to give me nightmares!
Bugs are quite the delicacy in some cultures. Not in MY culture, but hey, to each his own! 😋🐞🐛🐜🕷🦟🪲🪳
Lots of crickets in the area as well..and I didn’t learn till recently, ppl eat roasted crickets..https://www.gymneatcrickets.com/dry-roasted-crickets
Mmm maple chipotle lol ugh.
Maybe I should roast my own and sell them? J/k..not gunna do that lol.
I think grasshoppers are in high demand, too. I like texture and crunch in my food, but I prefer to get that with granola or something of that ilk, thank you very much! Yeesh, I just can’t imagine…
😀
You just reminded me of a movie I saw in the early 70’s called The Hellstrom Chronicles.” The trailers made it look like a cool horror movie, but it turned out to be a documentary on insects, lol!
Sounds very 70’s:) lol.
😄
This cracked me up!

My buttuckus was once smacked by a bee the size of a good sized yo-yo.
Yowch! 🙁
We have tarantula hawks here, and they are, in a word — scary. The first time I saw one, I just couldn’t believe it was real. It was trying to take flight, and you could tell it was an effort because, well, it was almost too big and heavy to get off the ground.
File some of these critters under the heading of “Nightmare Fuel”! 😨
In Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey. A no brainer scent that I always enjoy!
I am so glad is Friday and that the temperature is in the lower 70’s. The weekend will be humid in the 90’s 🥵. I am not complaining, but I do not appreciate those extreme changes.
Having now my third cup of coffee with a slice of peaches & cream tarte.
Thank you for all your well wishes to my doggie Yei and me at the beginning of the week. Things have not changed, but I am trying to come to terms with my current situation. I hope things eventually improve. I need to be positive!
Happy and healthy Friday, everyone! 🌻
Thinking of you two, PL67 – thanks for checking in. I also hope your work project is moving forward without the hinderance of any office drama at least!!
Thank you, MossyBerry!
So far no drama at work yet. Crossing fingers it stays like that!
I will trade you a ton of positive thoughts for a virtual slice of your tarte!🌞🌷🐦🌻
Thank you, Lillyjo! Passing you a double slice of the tart! 🥧😊
More well wishes for Yei and a big 🤗 for you.
Thank you, Laila!🌻
I saw Dr. Peter Dobias had a special video on his facebook page yesterday about treating pancreatitis, and thought of you and Yei. Hoping he can recover and you have more time together.
Thank you, Cazaubon! I will check Dr. Dobias video tonight. Any information about treating pancreatitis is of huge help right now.
More well wishes for you and Yei!
And maybe you should get some coffee ice cream on the way home tonight? We seem to have jumped right into summer! 🥵🍨
Thank you, Jalapeno! 🌻
You read my mind! I grabbed pints of Coffee Boba, Lemon and Strawberry ice cream. Heat index will be in the 100’s. I am not planning to go outside this weekend! 🥵🍨
Coffee Boba ice cream?!? That sounds amazing! 😲
It is! But the Black Tea Boba is the best. I get them from Trader Joe’s.
Always a good scent.
It is!
SOTD is Fox in the Flowerbed with its Wildflower Honey.
That one has been getting some love here at NST.
If you don’t have it and like jasmine, you need it in your collection.
Good to know this!
Slowdive today! It was love at first sniff for this one.
I fully expected to love that one when I tried it, but it just didn’t work for me. 😕 It’s been quite popular this week, so I must be the odd man out.
I’m way late to reading these comments, but I think Slowdive is too sweet and off putting at first. I do enjoy it after it calms down in a few hours, but I’m considering putting my travel spray up in the next swapmeet. Surely, with all the love it gets here, it can find a better home!
You smell great!
I’m back in Kalemat today since I’m wearing the same t-shirt. I amped it up with another couple of sprays to really bring on the honey vibe. 🍯
I was tempted to wear SSS Bees’s Bliss but it’s not as round and smooth as Kalemat and I woke up with a sinus headache, so skipped it.
We may be moving on today, not sure just yet. Out of bed a bit late because doggo wanted extended morning snuggles with belly-rubs, ear scritches, and lots of smooching.🐶🥰
Happy Fri-YAY!
Early morning snuggles with felines, canis or kids are AWESOME.
Hope your sinus headache goes away soon!
Puppy snuggles are the best. 🙂
Yuck on that sinus headache, but yay for snuggles from a furry friend!
Wearing Swiss Arabian’s Noora today, which I believe was a well deserved lemming in the fragrancesphere some years back. It’s very simple: honey, orange blossom a bit of musk and it smells like sunshine.
Ooo, that sounds lovely! I’ve never heard of it before but will be seeking it out now.
2nd!
Going for the CP points with Fils de Joie – it really gives me a buzz! Thinking about FdJ for today got me thinking about Teatro alla Scala (I had previously seen it has a beeswax note). Something about FdJ reminded me of it. I put a spritz on my arm, and did not get anything similar at first. But Teatro is one with so many notes, I wonder if there would be a long-drydown match? Fils last forever on me and on clothes, so the two have that in common. Happy Friday – hope you all have some relaxing plans.
Long busy day, very relaxing evening…hope you have good weekend plans too!
Happy Friday and Happy Bee Day!
SOTD: Nectar Blossom from Clean, a limited edition from pre-pandemic 2019.
1) FINALLY a week of dry days. I will start with the garage with all the stuff from last years construction and get that sorted and recycled. I expect that to take the full weekend. I have shelving that is assembled that will help with this. Gonna see if I can sell old Monocle magazines.
2) I bought an e-bike! It’s the Gen 3 Stride. I tried other models but decided to do a lower priced entry model. Had a bike mechanic build it out and took it out for an inaugural ride this morning to Starbucks. Smooth and easy to ride on PAS 1- on some parts I got up to 15miles/hour! Gonna really give it a go this week- it’s really fun!
Yay, E-bike! Congratulations. I bought one to help get me back into exercise and it is such a fun thing. I can bike up our big hill and the two dogs trot alongside happy as anything . I hope you have tons of fun. Mine makes me smile like a kid.
Enabler pin for Strathmore notebooks. I found someone in NZ a who sells them ($30) so I ordered a visual diary/ drawing 5×8. So excited!
Oh, and go the home projects!
I just went on a inaugural ride with some big hills! It was so good- I was able to go up the hill without feeling I was about to pass out.
The Strathmore notebooks are quality, with really good paper for watercolors and sketching!
I’m looking forward to trying out an ebike, husband and I are planning to get a pair as an anniversary gift one of these years.
This sounds like romantic fun for a anniversary gift!
Congrats on your new e-bike! I just got one after too many years of “hill anxiety” and it’s revolutionized by biking experience.
And Mr. Allo is getting used to me always saying yes when he suggests we bike somewhere…
I hope my bees are craving some hemlock, along with their flowers. I am wearing Ormonde Jayne Woman today.
Happy Friday !
You smell wonderful!
I’m not a big fan of honey.
My sotd is SL Cedre. It doesn’t list honey as a note but I can smell it. I really love this perfume though.
It’s hot and humid here until the storms come through then it’s back to cool and rainy.
You smell sooooo good! I hope you have a great weekend. We had five minutes of sleet but no snow. Sad face.
I rarely see Cedre talked about. I think it’s one of the best perfumes that I have.
Ugh, sleet. Hope you get some pretty white snow next time.
Cèdre is so interesting and unusual. You smell great!
How did it go yesterday?
Photographer didn’t show up. Ended up rescheduling for today, but it went well.
Sounds like Cedre is a True Perfume Love for you! 😍
Thanks to you!😊
I’m happy that sample went somewhere it was worn and cherished!
We should all thank the 🐝 for the work they do.
My plan is wear beige for my SOTD but I am not in the mood
Went with Rose Almalfi from TF to attract 🐝 I do like this one too. Almost better than the one from yesterday. We shall see what the 🐝 think
https://www.guerlain.com/us/en-us/p/golden-bee-palette-limited-edition-holiday-eyeshadow-palette-P043347.html
I have this and it is great and …bees!
That is a beautiful pallet !
How do you like it
I have been using the abeille skincare from Guerlain and like it so far.
Well, you know me…I always end up looking like Michael Stipe when he went through his blue eye mask stage. But it’s great. Sheer if you want but buildable.
Are you liking different TF rose perfumes as the weather changes?
Yes! Have you tried any?
I might have sniffed Rose Prick pre-pandemic, but I am not sure. You are far ahead of me in keeping up with TF.
I like Rose Prick a lot,
And these other rose ones I am trying.
I am also keeping up with TF makeup, which is just as expensive
I have a bowl of sugar water on my deck that I watch as I write at the kitchen table. It attracts a huge cloud of bees, almost a swarm and I’m always intrigued at the way the nectar feeding birds ( and the now sugar addicted sparrows) negotiate the swarm to feed from the syrup. There seems to be such an element of harmony between them. I resupply the water during the day and although the bees all fly up from the water and land on my hands or hair they seem totally chilled. It’s really lovely. I prefer just using an open bowl to a sugar bird feeder as fewer bees drown. With the original bird feeder the bees would squeeze through the tiny holes meant for the birds’ beaks/tongues and then get trapped inside and I found it quite distressing. With the bowl I have a few island( stones) that they can scramble up if they fall in the syrup. I get such a load of pleasure watching them. Wearing A La Nuit which has honey and will move to Praire Nymph later. We eat honey from hives in our neighbourhood made by a work colleague of Alex. It changes from season to season: Manuka, Manuka, pittosporum, clover, willow etc. blend.
What a lovely story and beautiful way to connect with nature.
Saw this and thought of you:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CdSpqEqobH5/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Wow, serious penmanship
That sounds lovely 🙂
Thank you for your lovely post. I can just picture it!
What an ingenius idea for the bees! Love it.
Lovely story and a stunning jasmine!
Great scent!
This is beautiful!
I didn’t get a chance to say yesterday, thanks so much for sharing the photo of your notebook and telling us about them. I just love looking at people’s handwriting.
Wearing Smell Bent’s Prairie Nymph for the CP today with its honey, beeswax, and carnations. I have a tester but am debating a full bottle. I love beeswax notes, and it’s rare for me to be a fan of carnation-focused frags, so I’m thinking I should go for it while I still can. But I’m weary that the decision is being driven by fomo.
Drinking a pot of Marco Polo black tea today and its making me crave a good belgian dubbel.
Sounds lovely! A real carnation scent?
At least the Smell Bent bottles are 50mL and not 100. I’m pondering a bottle of Bollywood or Bust.
I’m reading comments days behind, but I’m happy to send you my unloved bottle of Bollywood or Bust. It’s got about 20ml left, probably a tad more. Email me at my NST username at gmail. 😀
Just finished reading the book Hamnet. I loved it, beautiful writing.
I´m wearing Chamade, no money there I think. I will explore more bee scents as I love honey and bees.
Have a lovely weekend!
Tell me more about your book
It´s a book about how a family copes with the loss of a child. It´s about grief and love. The mother is such a powerful character, I loved her.
I loved that one. Really stuck with me too.
Bee or a woodsy perfume, even a palo santo oil. My carpenter bees need representation.
Do you think Chipmunk could be discontinued? For sentimental reasons, I’m on a hunt for a perfume. I’m not sure if my fountain of perfumes needs BUBS or if this is even the one. Just wondering if it would be discontinued. I have gone through some of the sentimental bottles and have ‘saved’ some BUBs. So its not that I haven’t used the juice.
Thoughts?
The brand often discontinues scents or totally reformulates a new scent under the same name.
Ok
I bought mine the moment it came out.
They’ve said they won’t do any more reformulations, but discontinuations are always a risk. Their line is large and at some point they will probably have to discontinue the slow sellers. But Chipmunk is rather recent so probably no rush.
Good points on the discontinuations as they grow larger and Chipmunk is a newer release. Didn’t think of it like that. Thanks!
Would you be horribly upset if you didn’t have Chipmunk anymore? And are you using what you do have of it? If you said yes to both questions, then a BUB might be in order (no pun intended).
How about I might be horribly upset? And, yes, I am using it a lot.
I like puns. 😊
How much of the bottle do you still have left?
A good enough amount. I’m thinking this is always going to remind me of someone.
My unicorn bottle was an Estee Lauder Honeysuckle Splash perfume. Long story about that one, but, sentimental, again.
Chiming in late, but I think I scored a triple. A French scent in honor of Baker’s adopted country-did you know she spied for the resistance during WWII?
A”Chant” for the chanteuse Cher
And a honeysuckle fragrance from Guerlain’s Bee bottle,
Nice job. Honeysuckle from Guerlain?
Do tell !
Chant d’Arômes?
Excellent!!
I’m catching up in Séville à l’Aube, thanks to several peeps who mentioned it over the week. I’ve toyed with the thought of voting this one off the island, but it’s hitting the spot today!
Funny how that last minute reprieve happens with perfumes sometimes. 😊
It is, isn’t it? Those fickle little molecules keep changing on us.
For some reason that one never worked for me, but it gets a lot of love here. I am sure you smell amazing.
I can see this one being a ‘love or hate’ frag.
It ages well. My bottle was from 2012 or 2013 and is a deeper orange!
Maybe that’s it! 😉
I’m sitting on the couch trying to muster the energy to wash the dishes 🙂
I worse TF’s Tobacco Vanille yesterday, and can still smell it strongly on my clothes, at least I’ll smell fabulous as I do the housework.
Dishes can wait! Worst comes to worst, hide them in the oven 🙂
I’m claiming extra points for today’s cp in Marc Jacobs ‘Honey,’ not just for the scent alone but also for its adorable yellow-and-white polka-dotted ‘bee’ bottle that always brings a smile to my face. The fragrance itself is actually a light fruity-floral with a slight honey edge to it, luckily not a heavy, syrupy honey, since today is very warm and humid and anything more than this would be stultifying. Even without wearing a ‘honey’ scent, I could get points just for sitting outside on my little deck, for the 2 black locust trees in my yard are in full bloom, their pendulous hanging creamy white blossoms emitting a strong honey-like fragrance in the humid air. My lilacs nearby are full and just beginning to open up, and I’m saying a prayer 🙏 that the rain predicted for later doesn’t ruin what I’ve been waiting for so long!
We were hoping to go to our first outdoor concert of the year tonight but that’s cancelled due to the weather. 🤬. Garden club plant sale tomorrow morning and hoping to get more herbs and annuals planted this weekend. The migrating birds have mostly come and gone but we were luckily treated to the beautiful iridescent hues of a visiting Indigo Bunting, and yesterday I saw the first Baltimore Oriole add its colorful orange and black plumage to our garden when it was the first visitor to the Oriole feeder I had just hung the day before. 🤞the hummingbirds will soon follow!
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend ahead, hope you all can step outside a bit and revel in nature’s splendor!
Sadly, my lilac blooms were mostly ruined by all the rain. I hope you are luckier!
Me, too! I wait all year for them to bloom. I plan on wearing all my lilac fragrances next week to honor them.
Black locust trees smell wonderful when they are blooming. A great intro into summer.
I read that they can be invasive. I didn’t plant the ones I have but their feathery fronds and incredible blooms are most welcome! Especially today while it’s warm and humid, their fragrance just fills the air!
You are correct that Black Locust trees can be invasive. But they do work well in urban settings.
Back in 1974 my grandfather travelled to Vancouver and brought me back a field guide to North American birds ( illustrated with drawings not photos) that I treasure and use to look up the birds mentioned in your ( and others) posts.
That is a wonderful treasure! And I love hearing about everyone’s birds, so many beautiful species all around the globe.
That Marc Jacobs bottle was so cute!
Your yard sounds lovely! What a beautiful space it must be. Hope you get to enjoy the full beauty of your lilacs.
Nasty weather today for me. My cell phone has been going berserk with alerts and warnings all afternoon. The cats are completely unfazed by all the racket, both natural and man-made. Right now both of them are napping. ⚡☔🔊
SOTD = Cartier L’Envol EdP. After some digging (excavating?) in The Sample Stash, I found it. It’s on the edge of too much what with the heat and humidity of today’s weather. Time to find some summer-y samples stat!
There was tornadoes north of me earlier. Hoping my storms tonight are of the non severe type. Stay safe Jalapeno!
Plenty of rain and some rumbles of thunder for me. That was it. I think a lot of the watches have expired now.
Hope that your weather also calms down significantly!
You do smell good even if it was too much for today!
I’d love to smell this on a guy! It’s tilting the teensiest bit masculine today, which it never did before. I am blaming the heat and humidity. 😏
I would never have known that Absolue pour le soir contains a honey note, but apparently it does. So that is what I’m wearing today.
You smell great Robin, I love Grand Chalet and it reminds me of the wonderful Astier de Villatte shop near the Jardin du Luxembourg. I didn’t actually buy any Astiers there but I did get both of my lovely Bourdons.
I have loved all of the bee pictures this week, very much appreciated.
I think I could not stand to go in the actual shop…I would just drool all over everything, LOL…
Not wearing a scent today, but definitely participating in observing nature! I wanted to wear Bengale Rouge when I saw it has a honey note, but it’s way to warm for it.
I went on a long walk with a couple of friends this morning and saw a lot of wildlife. Geese and their chicks, turkey vultures, jack rabbits, and even a tiny snake.
Have a great weekend, all!
Observing wildlife counts for sure. My only wildlife sighting today was in NYC 🤣
I’m in Serge’s A La Nuit tonight – Swoon. Extra points for The Bee Folks Orange Blossom honey in my tea. Rishi’s White Tea Rose Melange (not affiliated with either, but deeply in love with both!)
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
Oooooooooh, The Bee Folks have great honey! I’m not affiliated with them either, just a very happy long time customer. 🐝
We go through their honey like water!
Have you tried their Mango Honey yet? That’s new this year. But the last time I checked their site, the smallest size it came in was a Gallon!
Oh would I love to try the Mango! I’ll keep checking on it in the future to see if it comes available in smaller size.
SOTD = Amouroud Miel Sauvage
Happy World 🐝 Day!
Woot! Cuddly and perfectly office-friendly and of course, I am taking CP points!

In other news, I don’t know what I did but somehow, I keep getting … Hello Kitty ads on IG. 😱
And by the way, the GWP for Estée Lauder at Macy’s is absolutely cute. The tote looks like it’s artwork by Murakami even though I don’t think it is. Entry level is $45 for this one vs. what I believe is typically $35. I will pick it up on or after June 1st.
Could it be the caturday posts?
I’m going to type Hello Kitty and see if anything pops up in my ads. Lol.
No, because I’ve been doing the caturday posts for a while.
Phones are creeping on us all!
Love your purrito! That perfume sounds great too.
Very late and also in Grand Chalet. I love Linden flowers!
Grand Chalet smells like linden?❤ You must smell amazing!
Hey twin!
