It's Friday, International Waffle Day, and the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Birthdays today: Flannery O’Connor, Sarah Jessica Parker, Aretha Franklin. Our community project for today is Dealer's Choice, edition 6 (variation)... pick a project you liked from a past Dealer's Choice project, and do that project. You can find prior editions (and choose your project by looking through the comments) here....edition 1, edition 2, edition 3, edition 4 or edition 5.
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I went with a suggestion by pyramus from edition 5: play nice (wear a fragrance which, while it still bears the stamp of the perfumer’s art, is more or less guaranteed to offend no-one), and I picked Hermès Eau Claire des Merveilles.
Reminder: on 4/1 we'll celebrate April Fools Day...wear your most-fun-ever perfume. (This is a repeat from 2016.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

All week I’ve been doing a theme from 2020, which was unnamed but which I called Vacation, All I Ever Wanted: things I bought on vacation. In May of 2017 we were in Brussels as a sort of way-station to other places we needed to go (Den Haag via Amsterdam, Karlsruhe via Köln), and I went (twice!) to a wonderful perfumery called Parfum d’Ambre, where I bought Molinard Habanita edp, a glorious floral oriental, completely unisex and beautiful from first to last. You know how promotional copy is always referring to scents as addictive? This one really is.
Your theme is giving me a great earworm.??
I KNOW RIGHT? Such a good song!
SUCH a good song! But play me pretty much any song from 1982 and I am there.?
Habanita is amazing. Great choice!
I have a little Habanita edp from a kind NSTer, and it is so lovely. You smell great today. ?
I agree with you on Habanita and, I, too, have a small bottle I purchased on vacation on my one and only trip to France. It’s the Parfum version and the tiny black bottle is as beautiful as the scent.
TGIF! What a week! Work was too crazy busy all week for me to comment. Thankfully I have today off.
My favorite cp ever was pairing a perfume to a song, but my brain is too fried to come up with anything good.
SotD is OJ Vanille d’ Iris which I thought I would love because, well, vanilla and Iris but instead it’s just a like. I’ll use my sample but don’t need more.
Dreary and gray today. ? Yawn. Hoping the sun will come back out this weekend, I haven’t seen it since Monday now.
Happy Friday!
I was underwhelmed by Vanille d’Iris as well. The name was so promising!
Yes! The name is what made me order a sample. VCA Bois d’Iris is my favorite Iris so far. What are some other good ones? Besides no 19.?
I like Le Galion Iris and Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile.
For sweet iris, Bois d’Iris, Silver Iris andIris Ganache.
For a deep dive, this series is great!:
https://nstperfume.com/2016/04/01/5-perfumes-iris-fragrances-for-spring/
I also like Masque Milano L’Attesa, Dusita Splendiris, Boucheron Iris de Syracuse, FM Iris Poudre, Aedes Iris Nazarena, Hermes Iris Ukiyoe.
I loved mine so much I gave it away … ?
Lol
Ha! You crack me up.?
Mostly a dreary week here too! Waiting for real spring…
I love Iris fragrances in Spring. Never tried this one but perhaps you might give it another try when you’ve had a less hectic week and the skies aren’t so dreary, it might smell different?. We had a very unexpected couple of hours of bright blue sky and ? earlier today before the clouds returned, getting ready for some snow showers soon! I’m grateful we were able to enjoy the little bit of Spring we had today!
Sounds like your SOTD would have been perfect for a “Well, Phooey!” CP. Wear a perfume that ended up being a let down in one form or another.
I’m wearing a combo of themes from edition 1 – “Just finish it” and “Leap of faith”. I did a grab from my bag of almost finished samples and ended up with Zdravetz, which I finished. Another thunk for me.
Nice, double points!
Happy Friday! Finishing the week strong in Do Son and a poem –
– Rainier Marie Rilke, Selected Poems
(Translation)
“To love is good, too: love being difficult. For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation…Love is a high inducement to the individual to ripen, to become something in himself, to become world for himself for another’s sake, it is a great exacting claim upon him, something that chooses him out and calls him to vast things.”
Lovely, thanks for the translation!
I really like that. (Good thing you translated!) And you smell great, too!
I am all about Robin today. I am doing her no theme/theme from edition 1 of “just because”. Plus I am almost twins with her as I am wearing Hermes Eau des Merellies?
Ha, perfect!
Wearing SL Arabie on this foggy Friday morning. Wishing all a good day and good weekend!
Arabie is wonderful and hardly ever mentioned. Will have to pull out my bottle.
Hello and TGIF!
Final day of Flavourtown!
Today I am exploring a mix of sweet, spicy and a touch of saltiness. I am wearing Room 1015’s Cherry Punk. It starts off with sweet cherries and mildly spicy pepper and saffron then later the leather comes through with its slight hint of savoriness.
Spicy cherry sounds too good I have been meaning to smell this one.
L’Heure Bleue, vintage edt.The juice is this beautiful dark rich color, almost like brandy.
Perfection. It must fit in somewhere with someone’s variation on the cp.
All I know is if Guerlain ever discontinue this I would be truly sad.I have all the concentrations from an array of decades,it is SO.BEAUTIFUL.
Xo’s
Oh, I should think they wouldn’t dare discontinue it! (But I doubt it makes much money, so better safe than sorry.)
My thoughts as well. It’s never been part of mainstream Guerlain counters over here,I’ve had to mule and lie to post office officials mostly.Haha
Theme variation: spend the week wearing every available iteration of a single scent. I could almost do that with Vol de Nuit.
That’s a good one!
Maybe next time!I could do that with a couple of Guerlain classics myself.
Oh how wonderful! I could do it with Shalimar but your collection is incredible.
Oh, that’s a great theme! I have all three iterations of vintage Amazone — edt, edp, and parfum. It just sort of happened: I wasn’t looking to collect it specifically. But it’s so good!
The very first entry in the first dealer’s choice was me doing Love at First Sniff, so I’ll do it again. I was planning on doing the same scent as well but in honor of seeingthe first crocuses of spring yesterday, I’m wearing Safran Troublant
We’re theme twins!
The finale of the Mislaid Intentions theme was to have been Galop. Unfortunately, that sample has well and truly been mislaid, so I’m substituting SL Rousse. It’s beautiful.
I learned quite a lot this week — permanently extinguished several lemmings and only created one must-have-more-of-this, so I call that a successful theme! Encre Noire will be joining the collection very soon; the jury is still out on Rousse (which might join Doblis, De Profundis and Sous le Vent on the “inaccessible loves” list).
You used to be able to find Encre Noire dirt cheap, hope you still can.
Still can! It helped that I ignored enough marketing emails to get a 35% off coupon from one of the discounters. 🙂
Perfect.
Hey, I’m wondering if “inaccessible loves” could be fashioned into a future cp. Wear a dab of an inaccessible love, either one you have more of and would be willing to swap a bit of, or one you’d like more of, and see if the comments glean any opportunities for a swap. Maybe too convoluted?
Interesting idea!
I like it! We might be able to help some folks reunite with a lost love.
Finishing up “just finish it” with a sample of Dzongkha thunked. Lovely and meditative. I’ve realized that all of my samples within thunking levels were that way because I was hoarding them. I’ll have to try another CP to force me to give old samples a few consecutive tries.
My son and I will visit my mom to celebrate her birthday this weekend. She rarely lets us take care of her, so I’m hoping she’ll agree to relax and enjoy. I’ll probably add a few of those forgotten samples to her gift!
Happy Birthday to Mom and wishing you all a wonderful 3-generational visit!
This sounds like a lovely weekend plan, wishing you all a good and enjoyable time together.
Enjoy that family birthday weekend!
I was so sure I had seen a “Stop and Smell the Roses” theme, but now I can find it to give the originator credit. I’m smelling two roses today: TF Rose D’Amalfi and JM Rose Blush. One powdery and delicate, the other fresh and zingy. Later on I’ll smother them both with Lubin Grisette.
Tea today is F&M afternoon blend. It’s a four-day weekend for me. Hoping to get at least one nice day to spend outside but our weather has been all over the place lately.
We are note twins today!
Hello everyone! I dropped off at some point last week and haven’t had a chance to catch up on any comments or perfume posts but today is a much better day- sending you all good wishes for a fragrant and peaceful and happy day. Wearing Kelly Calèche, one of my favourite Hermès for its gentle dusty rosiness.
A favorite of mine too.
Smelling classy today!
I made up my own project, unless this has been done before: fragrances with oddball names. So SOTD for Friday is Scenthusiasm, from 4160 Tuesdays. Earlier this week, I wore Jicky EDT and Ostara.
4160 Tuesdays is a gold mine for that project!
Hello tgif ?
Been a while since I have posted but good to see you all:)
Been a bit busy starting an Ebay store? Lol I am a top rated seller for now anyway haha. So that is cool I guess. It’s not as lucrative as I was hoping but the way the economy has been likely plays a part who knows. I have had fun with it and have learned a lot about Ebay lol. I figured I purchased so much on ebay–none of that being fragrance at all– LOL, why not sell a bit? I designed my own business card and logo so that also is kinda cool. I was more excited about designing the card more than anything lol. I think it turned out alright:)
I also got a cat..her name is Juji and she was a stray kitten I found in the In and Out parking lot. Lol if I was a stray, I would hang out by In and Out too. I trapped her in a feral cat trap..got her fixed, vaccinated..took her home. She is a black domestic short hair and love having her.
Sotd an orange blossom scent my friend made for me, as it is known I am a BWF fan. So that is really cool. We collaborated on what some of the notes would go in it. And generally on the amounts, though my friend did the science-y measurements lol. It helps to have a friend who knows chemistry and loves fragrance:). I am liking it so far and would like a full bottle I think, gotta see how it develops. I compared it to chanel riviera just to see some of the differences between the two..and that was the closest OB sample I had on hand lol. The chanel is more loud and has a large syringa note? The one I am wearing is more gentle, cozy and sweeter. I am liking it. And I enjoy wearing my enabler pin for not only getting a friend into scent but now making it? Sweet:). We are having too much fun with this, my friend just ordered some sandalwood that broke the bank haha, I bet it’s gunna smell great.
Hugs to all!
Welcome back! What fun to have a friend create a scent for you. And to acquire a cat. We found our (late) kitty, Penny, outside a highway rest stop. Had her for about 17 years. She wasn’t feral…she was abandoned. So no trapping, just a love bug from the first moment. Enjoy your new baby. Great name.
Thanks!!! Yeah Juji means “someone who is greatly loved” so it seemed fitting. Penny sounded like a great cat. I used to socialize cats at the spca so it came in handy..she is pretty domesticated but with a little feral sass here and there lol. I call her sweet and sassy:) abandoning cats..I will never understand it but glad I have scooped one up.:).
1) Welcome back friend!
2) Congrats on the business! And when can we expect to see YOUR fragrance out for sale, hmmm?
Thanks! Lolol we are just kinda playin around a bit but if we come up with some ones we like, we would probably give some samples out, yadda yadda. We are also working on an agar wood scent and an apricot one. Fun to play around at least lol.
Hiiiii!!!??✌?
Good luck with the new business and the new ?⬛!
Wow, sounds like you’re up to a lot of fun stuff, with the business and the new kitty!
Big Congratulations to you on the new business and the new kitty! ?
How neat about the kitty! A friend adopted a stray found in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant. She had already been named Salsa and my friend kept that name. Juji is lucky.
Oh I love the name Salsa! Lol:)
Hi guys,
Now that we are safe, I probably will not update often, since my life in Sweden has nothing to do with perfume. But for now I will still share with you what’s going onin my life.
I realized I forgot to tell you that I was quite sick for my first two days in Sweden. I had a high fever (up to 39.7 C), a very sore throat and could barely speak. Now I do not have a fever anymore, but still cough and have a stuffy nose. And I still get tired quickly. Mom caught this too, but her symptoms were far milder.
Yesterday we left the flat for the first time to buy groceries for ourselves and some food for Kora. We also met another of our Swedish friends, L, who lives on the floor below us (same building). She showed us the laundry room, explained how to sort garbage and invited us to her place to watch Ukrainian news. Tomorrow she will drive us to a store where we can buy some affordable clothes. Unfortunately, we could not take much with us. I definitely need some extra t-shirts, and mom needs sneakers.
We also went to the beach today (5 min from the flat). It is a lovely place with boats and a lot of birds.
That’s all I have for you today, I think. Thanks again for all your support, fragrant friends. It means a lot for us. Good luck, everyone!
I am sorry, I have not been up to date on more recent posts, are you from Ukraine?
I am. I was invited to stay in Sweden until it is safe in Ukraine, so my mother, my cat and I spent almost entire last week travelling from Kyiv to Malmö.
I am so glad that you guys made it out safely. All the best to you. Thoughts and prayers ? ?
Hey Glannys. I love to hear updates on life in general and of course, Kora is a very worthy subject. I’m glad things are working out slowly but surely. Of course if you happen to chance upon a store with perfumes, we’re all ears too!
❤️
Well, you know that I post on Instagram, especially Kora’s pictures.
Praise the universe that you are safe.
Yay for nice neighbors and the beach!
I am glad you are safe, and I hope your sojourn in Sweden is calm and fruitful., and you return home soon. Keep us updated.
Happy to see you! Hugs to you and your mom and kitty kisses to sweet Kora! ?⬛
We all love your updates about “life”,Glannys.I’ve shared many non-perfume life events here-as we all have-over the years.
Glad you can enjoy some of life’s little pleasure again.
XO’s
So good to hear from you! It’s no wonder you were I’ll after all you went through! Best wishes for a full return to good health and peaceful times in Sweden. ?
‘ill,’ not ‘I’ll.’
Great to hear. And I’m so glad you are feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better and you and your mom are safe and getting acclimated. Sending great big hugs to you both!♥️
That was quite the fever you were running! Glad that it is behind you now. And you are always welcome to talk about whatever here… NST is more than perfume. I’ve certainly had my share (if not more) of non-perfume talk.
Thank you so much for all your messages, and for this one. May Sweden be a good place for you all.
So nice to hear from you! I’m glad you and your mom are feeling better and that you have a nearby friend and a beach to walk to. I find the ocean so soothing. Wishing you better days ahead!
Took the puppy to the vet today for puppy shots. Found out she has guiardia again. Vet said it was one of the easiest parasites to get and treat but also the easiest one that reinfects you. Ended up spending over $300 in an hour. Wearing no 5 edt and it’s only 10 more days before the Sephora sale for me.
Aw, best wishes for a speedy recovery for Puppy and some money left over for the Sephora sale!
Poor puppy, and your poor wallet! Ack!
Ack, those vet bills can really be a shock! I hope your puppy feels better soon, poor baby.
Healing vibes for puppy!
Good morning and happy Friday! Late morning, anyway. I’m engaging in some self care. Started the day with black tea, but now drinking a green tea with accents of jasmine and spearmint. Also nibbling on some white chocolate, which goes well with the tea.
I attended a Zoom class last week on tea and chocolate pairings, and it was delightful and informative. Chai and milk chocolate is wonderful!
That all sounds yummy. Anything chocolate or jasmine gets my vote
And there’s actually a chocolate/patch note in IC, which I’d forgotten about!
I am going to dig out my sample and look for the chocolate. I haven’t noticed it yet.
It’s funny. If my nose is close to my wrist, I get almost all patch. It’s only when I sniff from a 6” distance that I get chocolate. ?
Good grief. Wearing Armani Iris Celadon, and am determined to plink this sample today. ??
I kept looking for IC and I couldn’t. Thanks for clarifying. In some circles, IC means ?
Wow, there are a lot of different meanings, and several related to finance. I never knew!
Love at First Sniff theme triplets with thegoddessrena and hajusuuri in New Hope is Where We Dream by DSH. Hyacinth, grass and “fresh air”. The latter concerned me for a moment, but thankfully I’m not detecting an ozonic note. I also love what she wrote about her concept:
https://www.dshperfumes.com/shop/new-hope-is-where-we-dream-an-isolation-meditation-experience-natural-perfume-2021/#
Ozonic notes, brrrrrrrrrr/shudder.
Yeah, not a fan! They still haven’t made an appearance, so unless they stealthily bloom in the very far drydown like some musks, I’m happy with this one!
Yay! I hate it when a gnarly note pops up in the drydown and ruins everything.
I really like this one too! I’ve never seen a perfume based on grape hyacinth, and I love gh, so I had to try it.
Oh cool, thanks for chiming in! I love grape hyacinths too.
I think I’ll go with austenfan’s theme from the first DC. Oddballs. Wear something that doesn’t smell like anything else you normally wear,
So…Insolence EdT it is. It also fits the theme someone chose way back when of thank goodness winter’s over…. It’s not really – tomorrow will be cold, but hope springs eternal. I’m going tomorrow morning over to a friend’s farm that she leases. She’s asked for help reorganizing some spaces in the barn to be ready for spring/summer. I admire what she’s trying to do – running a small farm with eggs, animals and veggies to sell at the farmers markets. Hard work.
For some reason I think Insolence is giving me a bit of a headache. Two spritzes is too many.
I have this one and agree with you, this is some pretty strong stuff.
I’m theme twins with you today, even though winter’s not quite over here, either . . . ?
I ended up in Insolence today as well. Wore it out to get groceries and I could smell it thru my N95 mask. Not sure how many sprays I did but it was probably more than 2!
Have fun tomorrow! It sounds like a great day; hard work is right but also fun and very rewarding!
I am doing a song match for the cp. I heard this song a while back and really wanted to use it for a cp but didn’t know what to match it to. It came to me to give it to Angel and the great Thierry Mugler.
A little ZZ Top… I thank you
https://youtu.be/PjbaHlTl86Q
R.I.P Thierry and Dusty Hill.
“Planet of Women” would have worked, too! Nice to see ZZ Top getting a shoutout.
Friday!
1) It’s cherry blossom time right now, and in these crappy times, it’s really nice to see the cherry and plum blossoms come out.
2) I am celebrating spring in Wonderland Peony, one of my fave scents from Floral Street.
Glad you have those blossoms to enjoy Ede ❤️
From edition 2, I picked the theme that chocolatemarzipan8 called “Back From the Dead” and thegoddessrena called “Damned Discontinuations.” I’m in the discontinued Guerlain Vetiver Pour Elle from a decant and to add insult to injury, I got an eBay notification this morning that there’s a newly listed bottle of it for sale for $699. Perfume resale value, especially Guerlains and most especially limited edition or discontinued Guerlains, has been sky high these days. I admit to being bitter that sellers are charging almost $300 for Shalimar MVP, which, while limited edition, retailed for $116 if I remember correctly. It’s their prerogative, of course, but also mine to be bitter hehe.
Anyway! Vetiver Pour Elle is a mildly soapy, creamy light floral with vetiver and peppery notes to my nose. This would actually also work for Robin’s theme today.
On my third bottle of Vetiver Pour Elle, and last, in part because I am more fickle than I thought, but also it was already pretty expensive. It is a nice summer scent and I plan to wear the heck out of it in a couple of months.
$699 — that is astounding.
I don’t know what I’m doing, but right now I’m wearing Anné Pliska. ❤️
What you are doing is smelling good!
Thank you! ☺️
Agree!
??Does anyone really know??
✌???
Good point! ?
I think ‘I don’t know what I’m doing is an awesome theme!’ ?
I think the Anné Pliska would supply you with plenty of confidence, even if you really don’t know what you’re doing. It’s a very self-assured, not to say brazen, scent.
A frustrating end to the week. A complication with the Accident Compensation (ACC) system here means that I am no longer entitled to free physio treatment but even worse I will now be charged for all my previous physio ( despite it being initially signed off) so I can expect a bill for around $600 at some point. I can understand the decision having seen the paperwork concerning medical procedure injuries but feel a bit miffed about the turnaround given that I had a claim number etc. Sorry, this won’t make any sense to anyone except maybe Gaynor! The physio was great but I can’t afford more. And life is too short to spend hours on hold …. The good news is I have an E Bike and it is amaaazing. I can zip up the steep hill while smiling and waving at proper cyclists. Plus the dogs run alongside, yapping, panting and tail wagging, so excited. Feel giddy like a ten year old at Christmas ( though I have to take painkillers and groan on the couch afterwards…but it’s worth it).
Perfume today is from the ( literal) back of the drawer, Chanel Mademoiselle travel spray in a white twist up bottle. Didn’t know I still owned it so that was a nice surprise
Medical coverage is always a hot button issue, no matter what country you live in. I’m hoping PT spent time in teaching you exercises and therapies you can continue to do at home to help return you to your baseline strength and stamina. The bike sounds like a lot of fun! ??♀️
I do have some good exercises plus there is a free programme for cancer patients I can tap into through the hospital. So, it’s all okay.
I know exactly what you mean! Years ago, I was getting free physio through ACC when I had a sore thumb. The first diagnosis was injury through overuse, but when it eventually was diagnosed as osteoarthritis I had to start paying. At least I didn’t have to pay for any previous treatment!
I think we’ve had very similar experiences. I am hoping the system is so clogged up that the bill for previous treatment won’t come through. I shouldn’t complain really.
Idk… sounds like a good reason to complain to me.
You’re right, lillyjo!
Any more perfumes inside your boots?
Funny you should ask. You know me too well!
Well drat…that is a shame that they can retroactively charge you.
Congrats on the e bike though! I got one last year and love it.
That seems terribly unfair to retroactively charge you for approved treatment!
Wonderful news about the ebike though, they are very popular here in San Diego. When I’m unable to ride the push bike any more that will be my plan.
Good morning all! It’s the start of the weekend here, and the day is a lot brighter than some we’ve had recently. There is lovely golden early morning sunshine on the trees.
I haven’t decided yet on a perfume for the morning, but did empty a sample last night. I have thought long and hard about Papillon’s Spell 125, loved everything about it, but in the end I really didn’t love the perfume. I am looking forward to Hera.
Spell 125 was not an easy love for me either, in fact I sold my first bottle of it, then it grew on me and now I love it. But it is challenging for sure.
Chanel No 5 EDP while drinking a cool glass of lemonade and enjoying the beautiful sunny weather.
Sounds perfect, and envy your beautiful weather!
Crazy week so I’ve missed all the news and posts here–I hope everyone is doing well.
Today my theme is Regrets and Remainders. Not regrets that I bought something I didn’t end up loving (even though I’ve done that, too). Today it’s L’Artisan Dzing! I wish I would have bought a BUB of the old bottle with the old cap with the lady riding the circus tiger. I do still have maybe 5 mls remaining in my original bottle and I’ll make sure I thoroughly enjoy every drop of the remainder.
Would you still get a bottle of Dzing!, or has that ship sailed?
I would. But really difficult to find now. That’s my regret.
L’Artisan used to do such wonderful bottles!
I’m wearing Moonlight in Chiangmai from Dusita today.
Hope it was a good day Lucasai.
Earlier this week we had some beautiful Spring weather, and I enjoyed putting my winter makeup and fragrances away and bringing out their warm-weather counterparts. Even though today’s weather is not very Springlike (snow flurries predicted later!) I’m sticking with the welcome change of seasons and TGWD as my Dealer’s Choice. Which fragrance says Thank God Winter’s Done to me? One of my very favorites, AG La Violette (the original one with the soft lilac ribbon, perfumer Isabelle Doyen). So pretty and soft, a little green, a pure violet that’s neither too sweet nor powdery. A harbinger of Spring, the wild violets that grow in my yard are just coming up, along with the crocus, daffys, dwarf Iris, and the tiny blue Scilla native to this area that run rampant wherever they choose, I ❤️ them all and I ❤️ this soliliflore.
Actually, La Violette fits a number of Dealer Choice cp’s and one I just thought of this morning – wear a fragrance that corresponds to your state flower if you live in the U.S. or your country’s flower if you live elsewhere. Since the common blue violet is the state flower of Illinois, I already get points (the violet is also the state flower of New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin).
There’s so much going on outside my windows as the seasons change that bring me joy and peace. Wishing some of that for all of you this weekend!
I didn’t remember that the violet was our state flower! I used to sniff the little violets that would spring up in our lawn hoping to get a violet scent, but they didn’t smell like anything. I think the European ones are the ones that smell good. But violet-scented anything would count for me as our state flower scent, since I love that note! What a fun idea for a CP :).
La Violette is so pretty, and love how many points you got out of it 🙂
Shalimar MVP as hajusuuri and Deva both wore it yesterday and I like to be in good company.?
Happy Friday to all!
Happy Friday! I wore this yesterday after forgetting to actually wear it for a few months (was so pleased to get a bottle that I have it in a special display place to admire it and y’know, forgot I could wear it as well as admire it). You smell wonderful!
You smell so good!
I need to wear it again, you smell wonderful!
I’m wearing one of Lillyjo’s favorites, LouLou. This must fit a bunch of Community Projects but I am too lazy to look them up. I’m trying to get my butt in gear to go take a walk but even that seems like too much effort. I slept poorly last night and I’m feeling it today.
Am a big fan of the relaxation technique called Just Lie Down. Works for people who don’t nap…
I put on a droning lecture on youtube to bore myself to sleep, works great for afternoon naps. 😉
I am doing discovered at the duty-free, no idea whether it’s been done as a CP before, so I wore Angel Muse edt which I love for the mix of passionfruit and grapefruit, tart but sweet.
Tonight it’s Weil Suki Essence, a sweet incense with dates and plum
Letting you know that you have earned an Enabler Pin from me for Molyneux Quartz pour Femme. ??
Great choice! I remember spraying myself before work with a tester at the mall drugstore many moons ago.
? Oh wonderful, thank you for this, enjoy your new bottle.
I decided to wear L’Air du Desert Marocain. Probably the most influential perfume in terms of dragging me down the rabbit hole and away from the selection at Sephora/Macy’s. Not sure how that fits in any project but haven’t worn it in a while…
I am all in favour of people making up their own Dealer’s Choice.
Happy Birthday to Elton John! ???
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/gM4Xm2MGLNQ
Well, I may or may not be in compliance with today’s CP. My first thought this morning was “I Can’t Brain!”. I just felt a little overwhelmed with the things I had to do today, and went for an easy perfume grab. However, the sample I picked made my heart go “pitter-pat” the first time I smelled it. Not sure if it is perfume love (yet), but it is very definitely a Strong Like.
All this is a roundabout way of saying I am probably twinning with everyone who has ever said that they have no idea what they are going to do for a given Dealer’s Choice CP.
SOTD = BF Au Dela Narcisse. I will use up and enjoy what is left in my little sample, and then ponder hard if I need/want more. The Sample Stash has exploded in size over the past couple of years, and it’s time to work on getting it under control.
I think of you as the sample stash queen! I find them overwhelming sometimes.
I don’t know why, but for some reason the size of The Stash is bugging me now. It never did before. ?
I can’t control my sample stash so I’ve given up ?.You smell great, of course!
Thank you! Au Dela Narcisse is something special whether I get more of it or not.
I’m trying to work on my samples too. They used to all fit in one pretty box, and now they’re all over the place.
Same! I have multiple sites where Pretty Smelling Things lurk. And a few scrubbers, no doubt.
Doing a pretty duet of Mugler Supra Floral and Puredistance Antonia on different arms.
I like that!
I saw my first robin of the year yesterday! Even though today is cold and very windy. Spring is coming, in fits and starts.
I’m continuing my theme of using samples recommended or given to me by NSTers. Today it’s Viktorya Minya Hedonist, recommended by Deva when I was asking about peach notes. It’s so yummy! I didn’t have time to comment yesterday or the day before, but I wore Amouage Myths Woman from MossyBerry on Wednesday (love!), and Fendi Theorema on Thursday, appreciated by so many NSTers that I found a mini for sale so I could see what all the fuss was about. Also delightful.
I got my hair cut for the first time since last fall I think, and it feels so much better now. The hairdresser spent time styling it afterwards to “enhance my natural wave” (I didn’t think I had a wave! How fun! Maybe it’s changing as I get older from stick-straight), but since it’s so windy out it got messed up as soon as I stepped outside. Ah, Chicago.
Haircuts always make me feel better!
The “overly optimistic Ice Cream Man” made his first appearance in my neighborhood last week. So he beat the robins! ?? That and the forsythia blooming were the first signs of Spring here. ?
Whoa! That is one ambitious ice cream man!

Dealer’s Choice is love at first sniff. From decant to FB in 60 seconds was how I described it! It was tulipani who gave me the decant and the rest was history!

In other news, I pretty much always pass by Macy’s Herald Square and the Flower Show is coming up from March 27 to April 10. I am looking forward to visiting!

I didn’t know that Macy’s Herald Square had a Flower Show. That sounds great!
I love rose & patchouli, I’m sure you smell great! Voleur de Roses is my go-to rose/patch scent.
I didn’t get a chance to reply to you yesterday, I move in two weeks! Eecks! I must channel your decluttering but x 1,000!!
I haven’t really figured it out, but I’m wearing 1940s or 1950s Chanel N°5
It’s in astonishingly good condition, and yes, I’m swooning as we speak
It envelopes me in this incredible warmth.
It just makes itself noticeable whenever I move.
And I don’t even like n°5!
