Chanel L’Eau Rouge ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 5 January 2022 27 Comments

Chanel has launched L'Eau Rouge, a "Revitalizing Fragrance Mist" in the brand's new No. 1 de Chanel "eco-responsible" skincare and makeup line.

A revitalizing fragrance mist infused with Red Camellia Extract and camellia water to refresh and invigorate the senses. Skin feels hydrated and looks radiant.

The N°1 DE CHANEL line seeks to minimize its environmental impact with sustainably developed formulas that contain up to 97% naturally derived ingredients and 76% from the camellia flower. Each product is housed in environmentally sound packaging for a reduced carbon footprint.

Opening with an energetic burst of citrus and red berries, the scent unfurls into a heart of jasmine and rose, the iconic signature of the House’s fragrance, along with comforting iris and musk notes. CHANEL In-House Perfumer Creator Oliver Polge drew inspiration from the delicate yet resilient qualities of the Red Camellia flower, creating a dynamic and sparkling, yet soft and refined composition.

No. 1 de Chanel L'Eau Rouge is $110 for 100 ml.

I also read online that there will be a whole skincare line with this launch, also foundation and lip/cheek item. Got to say though the products seem to target younger consumers since they’re mostly just hydration and not so much anti-aging and all, so I guess it’s a pass from me.

Yes, it says above it’s part of their new skincare / makeup line, No. 1 de Chanel.

Agree it seems geared towards young people, although the products do say they’re anti aging, particularly the serum:

“A powerful serum that helps prevent and correct the appearance of the 5 signs of aging. Immediately after application, pores are visibly reduced by 11%*. After 1 month, wrinkles appear 24% diminished**, elasticity is improved by 17%** and the complexion appears 17% more radiant**.”

I think you might’ve just convinced me to buy the serum… ;)

Ha, not my intention at all, and I never believe numbers like those. They never print the numbers for the control group that just used vaseline ;-)

I’m so tired of all those “new” launches!
They all seem the same – boring!
And where can I test them anyway, right now?
Also, how would I search for it with that little tiny o-ring symbol or whatever – how do I find that on the keyboard?!?
Ah, the good old days when there was Guerlain and Chanel to choose from and that was it.
          :) :) :)

(honestly: I will try to sample this soon – I like a lot of Chanel scents!)

Check your local Ulta – I got an email this morning on the line, and was pleasantly surprised to see it was available at the Ulta near me, which isn’t a if store by any means. ?

I’m hoping the fragrance mist is a winner for me. I need (want) a red bottle of something in my life.

Chanel seems to be jumping on the Korean skin care bandwagon. Ulta has featured the new line in emails. The copy reads like a lot of Korean products. Not a bad thing. Just likely pricier.

Yes, the video I watched for this product featured a young Asian lady. The video for the skin serum has a range of ethnic backgrounds.

Anyway, smart, since everybody wants Korean skin care these days. (Although to me, part of what I love about Korean skin care is all my favorites are so reasonably priced.)

    … because Red

… and why I learned not to make any no buy / low buy resolutions when it comes to fragrance.

I can split this, just FYI.
