It's Hump Day, Star Trek Day and International Literacy Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in mixed Merveilles (Eau Claire des Merveilles layered over Eau des Merveilles) and I'm off on a short family visit, again — posting will probably be light over the next few days.
Reminder: 9/10 is Karl Lagerfeld's birthday. Wear a Karl Lagerfeld fragrance, or a fragrance from his stints at other fashion houses (Chloe, Chanel, etc). Or, wear a fragrance he wore (scroll down, although I am sure he wore other fragrances as well...feel free to investigate).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams for the Chanel Pre-Fall 2015 collection, aka Métiers D’Art Paris-Salzburg.
Cappuccino this morning
While making mine, I noticed that Mr Pitt is the new ambassador for my espresso machine. Wonder if makes house calls 😉
Scent of the day is Chanel Gabrielle, which reminds me a bit of EL Beautiful belle. Doing a side by side
So far both are still going strong..
I prefer Gabrielle to the BB, it is the essence or the flanker to Gabrielle so it has more peach than BB. Hm…
I’m sure he will be by later to make sure you are using the machine properly 😉
.. maybe I should switch my perfume to something more seductive then 😉
Just don’t make it Chanel No. 5.
I’ll be wearing 4160 Tuesdays’ Waft from the Loft, from a sample that came with a recent order. Speaking of which: Sarah McCartney is the BEST! I placed an order at the start of the summer; as usual, she sent a large shipment of US orders to a contact in the US, who sent on individual orders by Priority Mail. Mine didn’t arrive (and I understand from the 4160 Tuesdays’ FB group that I wasn’t alone). But I had the tracking number and could see that the package had made it as far as NJ, so I decided to just keep requesting updates from the USPS and not bother Sarah.
Lo and behold — yesterday a whole new package from Sarah arrived, in time for my birthday, with the scents I had originally ordered plus several extras and a lovely handwritten note apologizing that the first order had gone astray in the mail! The 4160 team must have done its own tracking of the US packages. Wow — amazing customer service, on top of lovely scents. Happy birthday to me! Thanks, Sarah and team!
Happy Birthday!
That really is great customer service!
Happy birthday Old Herbaceous!
Thanks!
Happy Birthday! ?
Happy birthday ???!!
Now You got me sooo curious about what was that You actually ordered!!
You can see it all here! https://www.instagram.com/p/CTkxFOLp7Oz/
Happy Birthday! That really is great customer service!
Happy birthday! I’m glad the 4160 folks were good about the customer service. 🙂
Happy birthday!!
Happy birthday!!
Happy birthday, and you smell great! Sarah really is the best.
Unfortunately all those lost packages are expenses she can’t afford so she’s not offering US shipments any more unless she can find a more reliable delivery method. 🙁
I know, that’s why I wasn’t going to bother her about it. I was not expecting her to send me a new package! I had an experience last winter with USPS — I ordered some clothes in late December, and the tracking system just kept saying the box was “in transit.” It finally arrived, 3-4 months late! If Sarah’s original package shows up, I’ll reimburse her.
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! You are way more patient but I’m glad it worked out well in the end. My package from late 2020 got here late as well (3 weeks from the time I got notification about a Priority Mail tracking number). Sarah and Nick were lovely but the U.S. shipper left a lot to be desired. I got an email lecture for “future reference” – perfume should only be mailed via ground shipping and it could take anywhere from 7 to 14 days after the post office receives the package before one sees any movement. I did not dignify that with a response but I wonder because the package IIRC did not specify that the contents were perfume and if she knew it was going to go Ground anyway, why pay for Priority Shipping (which I acknowledge could be cheaper than Ground, but still).
I’m not sure Ground allows for a tracking number; Priority does.
I wonder if Sephora gets the same emails…
This was not the post office lecturing me but the person with whom Sarah contracted to mail out packages from the U.S.
Happy Birthday, what a nice coincidence. I haven’t tried the line, but I’m curious!
Many happy returns.
Happy birthday!! Glad it all worked out in the end with the shipping fiasco.
Happy Birthday! ?
Oh, happy birthday too!
Happy birthday and yay for Sarah’s customer service.
Many happy returns!
Happy birthday! Awesome customer service.
Adding Happy Birthday wishes! Amazing customer service! Lucky Scent could learn a thing or two from her…?
Happy Scented Birthday! ???? That is definitely some incredible customer service.
Happy Birthday and I do think Sarah and her company are trying to give us their best. I only have Babylon Sunset, but I always really enjoy it.
Now 63 degrees at 9:20 am my time, the summer heat is abating and Fall is coming on. SOTD = Seville a l’Aube, an excellent transition season Orange blossom scent with a woodie base, one of my favorites. After days of random anxiety about family and the state of the world, generally, I slept like a rock last night. But I am still yawny and low energy. Another sign of the shifting seasonal light, I expect. I need to dig out my high lumens morning light, and bathe my eye balls in many watts at 6:30 in the morning…
Cara and Pharrell seem rather irrelevant to my life right now, I have to say, but I do like that jacket she is wearing – to me it has a vague buffalo soldier vibe (which probably isn’t what the designer intended – hah!)
I expect to spend 0$$$ on clothes until there is some dramatic change in the pandemic status, but it is fun to look.
At the risk of seeming incredibly fusty and provincial, I like Ralph Lauren’s take on hounds-tooth, tweed and neutral Fair Isle accents this fall – immigrant Scotch/Irish rancher’s daughter chic, you know?
I’m not sure Cara and Pharrell have *ever* been relevant to my life, ha! But the whole set of images is worth looking up…this one is not the best, it just worked best for our standard image size.
A tiny drop — because that’s all you want or need — of vintage Chopard Cašmir, the foodiest scent I have ever smelled: much vanilla from top to bottom, spices, an entire produce section’s worth of fruit, and then some flowers and other stuff thrown in just because, plus every single ambery base note you have ever heard of. It’s a *lot*. Some days you’re in the mood for a lot.
And I use to spray that bad boy with abandon.
God help everyone in a three-block radius.
I used to do that as well, back when I was young and didn’t know any better: multiple spritzes of Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui, ditto with Obsession. Eventually I learned that there is such a thing as too much.
like too much shoulder padding in my jackets.
You know, I keep meaning to seek this out. Thanks for the reminder!
I can’t even keep that entire list of notes in my head, let alone conjure up what they would smell like together!
Rich, boozy vanilla-soaked spiced fruit compote at the outset, and then eventually every oriental scent you ever smelled in your life all at once. It’s extreme.
sounds delicious
OMG, the team from the place of many fragrances sent me a bottle of Tabac 28!
How lovely is that!
So lovely, how fun!
That is a fun perk!
Wow, very nice! ❤️
Sweet!
they are lovely team to consult to and they appreciate a lover of fragrance.
Have a safe trip, Robin!
Wearing Acqua di Parma Osmanthus. Small decant thunk!
Happy Wednesday!
You smell great and one less perfume for your recent organizing efforts!
Thank you, Allo! It is a nice scent, but I am glad I am done with it! More room available! ?
Yay for another thunk!
Making progress! ?
Thank you!
Good morning all. Wearing Fils de Dieu, which is perfect for late summer/early fall. I realized while spraying lavishly that I’ve only got about 7mL left of my 30 mL bottle! Wonder if I’ll finish it this year. Looking likely.
That’s a great scent. I find it very versatile, in the same way Bois des Iles and Bvlgari Omnia (the original) are. Perfect for any occasion.
Sotd is Yesterday Haze again, it might be my sotd for a few days because it’s such a good transitional scent. So is Slow Explosions, I’m enjoying Imaginary Authors a lot right now.
Yesterday Haze is so good and I love slow explosions! You smell great!
I am a nerd and I do happen to have a perfume that shares (unintentionally) a name with Star Trek the next generation’s finale episode. So today’s scent of the day is lush’s all good things. Live long and prosper.
Oh excellent, I forgot about that one!
Sotd is Philosykos. Fig makes me happy.
You smell great! Fig makes me happy too. Cupcake Royale has a fig and honey cupcake this month. I tried it over the weekend, and it was really tasty. Orange cream cheese frosting was perfection.
Oh boy – I need one of those or two. Thanks for the tip.
I meant to ask you when you posted about Violet fragrances. What are your favorites? And I’m on the hunt for the Korres shower gel.
Sorry for the late reply. Been trying to think of my favorites to share with you. I wouldn’t say violet is a favorite note of mine, but I especially like the Guerlain iris-violet combo, gourmand sweeter violets, and unexpected twists like violet with smoke. So here’s a little list:
Lolita Lempicka (gourmand)
Solstice Scents Violet Mallow, of which I only have a sample but am considering more (gourmand)
Mona di Orio Violette Fumee (violet with tobacco)
Guerlain Insolence, Apres L’Ondee, L’Heure Bleue EDT
The Different Company I Miss Violet (a like, not a love)
Lush Kerbside Violet (I don’t have any but remember liking it at the store years ago)
That place really does make delicious cupcakes.
Hi allo! I think it was you asking if I had tried Profumum Roma Patchouly in the Labor Day Weekend Poll. I have not. Right now I would say that my current patch love is by Reminiscence.
Hi Jalepeno – if you would like to try it, I’d be happy to send you an ample sample. I’d be curious to know what you think. I’m at l e s l i c o r t h e l l @ geeee

Rejoining the comment world after just lurking over the summer in PHI as my SOTD. I’m always amazed by how long a few dabs of this beauty lasts!
It’s another stress-laden school year, but my students are lovely, and I’ve at least broken free of my plexi-glass bubble.
Hope all are well, NST
PHI twins! We smell divine ? I did the Hajusuuri Method of spraying today, so I will be wafting for quite a while!
Someday, I will get a bottle so that I can waft, too. We do smell fantastic!
So glad to hear your students are lovely, and wishing you the very best, and the very least stress. School must be hard for everyone this year.
I’m wearing Dior Jasmin des Anges today and watching the sun come up over the hills. Sometimes the best things in life -are- free. I’m eating apricot yogurt and planning on a walk before it gets too hot.
Saw a great sunset last night and I have to agree with that sentiment!
I think we saw the same sunset last night. Well, that was a dumb statement! I meant from the same perspective..! I was waving to you across the strait. Here’s what I saw last night:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CTi8ziIAKY3/?utm_medium=copy_link
Nice, and cute dog!
Beautiful- both the morning and your fragrance!
Korres Morning Mimosa today…have been hankering for patchouli of late.
Thanks for so many supportive comments yesterday. ?
I was offline yesterday but sending vanilla hugs just because. 🙂
I love the sweet, patchouli, next-day dry down of Coco Mademoiselle edp Intense. The opening of it is iffy, but the way it lingers on clothes and pre-shower skin is very good to me. There’s vanilla lurking in there, too.
Taking a break from packing for a weekend trip. BTW thanks for the helpful suggestions in response to my fashion breakdown/rant a couple of weeks ago. It led me to sign up for Rent the Runway so now I have something to wear to a jazz club Friday and symphony opening night Saturday. It will be hot outside but cold AC inside, which is always a conundrum but hopefully the items I rented will work.
For now, waiting for a morning spritz of PdE Le Cri to make itself scarce. I *should* like this but I really really don’t and I’m not sure why. It strongly reminds me of another perfume (possibly late 90s/early 00 Chloe?) So I have to think it’s either conjuring a time in my life or a person I’d rather not be reminded of, or has a small dose of e Super that is putting me off. (If it were a large dose of Iso e, I’d be feeling uncontrollably angry.)
I’m sure it does have Iso E Super, but it also has a sharp rose note in the opening that takes a while to mellow out. I love it, but the opening is rough.
Ya, I noticed the iso e later in the drydown, but it’s the rose that was just too much. I’m not sure why, but apparently I’m not alone in this.
Does anyone else get Chloe?
I’ve never liked the 2000s Chloe pillar, but I do like several of flankers. Roses de Chloe in particular works really well for me and it used to be my everyday scent. They are frags I wear when I want to wear something but not spend any brain power thinking about it or appreciating it. I also think their mimosa soliflore is quite nice. And while I try very hard not to be swayed by beautiful bottles, I know I am susceptible.
Aaaand I just realized that I completely misread your question. Clearly *someone* feels defensive about their Chloe collection 🙂
I’m with you on Le Cri. There’s a note in there that just doesn’t work for me. It’s too “narrow”.
That’s the perfect word to describe it.
I definitely appreciated your clothing rant from a couple of weeks ago. It made me smile during a difficult time, so thank you.
I’m in Tauer’s Une Rose de Kandahar today. So good! ?
Happy Hump Day to all!
You smell divine! ?
Great choice!
I’m in Goutal Gardenia Passion today. Gorgeous, creamy gardenia! I don’t get the tuberose or jasmine as standalone notes, which is good for me because they don’t always play well on me. I do get the orange blossom every third sniff or so. I love it. I’m going to end up lightheaded from all of the sniffing today.
My internet is down today, so I had to decamp to my parents’ house. Another benefit of having them so close by now. Also, I ran into my mom at Target over the weekend, which was amusing.
Drinking down those English Breakfast tea bags, but they were intended to be used for when I’m not at home, so I don’t mind them so much today.
Ha! That is amusing ?
She yelled my name out across the parking lot like I was a kid getting into trouble. My sister calls it her “teacher voice.”
What a funny Target anecdote!
On my walk last Friday, I sniffed a magnolia that was just opening, a late bloomer on a young tree. The scent of it immediately made me think of L’Artisan Fleur de Liane, so I’m finally getting around to wearing that today. It’s a perfect perfume for one of the last warm days of summer.
Lots of August magnolias when I was at the beach a couple weeks ago, but it seemed like they were not as fragrant as the spring ones?
Busy preparing for my imminent departure next Tuesday. As per usual, I am aching from muscle tension and nervous as a cat. These moves always stress me out so much, for whatever reason. Will wear ALOF Liquid Night after my shower.
Good luck with the preparations. I sympathize with the pre-travel/move nerves. I can never relax until it’s over!
At least you don’t let the discomfort stop you.
I’m much the same way but the bigger picture gets me through the agonizing and details. It’s the same for me with recreational travel.
Drugs are good, too ?
I would probably not even be alive at this point without my drugs.
Sending “easy travel” vibes your way!
Here’s hoping all goes well. I am sure you are “moved-out” after all the changes, but a safe nest will be yours soon!
I am on my last nerve, will probably collapse when I hit the other side. Thank you for all the good wishes!
Hoping for an easy trip for you!
My prescription for you is to hire a trusted packer to help you. I know it will all be worth it in the end but oh the stress of packing! See you on the other side!
Tuesday is soon…hope it all goes better than you’re expecting, and that you get to relax when it’s all over.
SotD = The Time. Wow that black and blue tea scent plus iris… Wow. Loving every second of it!!
Sounds great!
SOTD will probably be Cristalle. It’s going to be 105 today so all the lovely suggestions I got from here won’t work for me today (I’m looking at your, Fils de Dieu).
Long time, no post! No particular reason, either, but trying to get back into the habit. Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday!
Nice to see you! I’m also trying to get back in the habit of regular commenting.
Maybe we have to become posting buddies. Like exercise buddies! 🙂
Haha, I like that!
Cristalle is perfect in the heat!
After a summer of temps like that, all I can say is drink plenty of ice water and stay cool with Cristalle!
nice to see you!
I was thinking of you this week!
Welcome back!
Hello there!
Hello back to you all, so nice to be welcomed back!!
Welcome back! Are you still taking classes in addition to teaching?
Yes, and it’s a bit overwhelming this semester – really have to stay on top of things!
I’m wearing Lush Lord of Misrule today inspired by the impending autumn weather.
That’s such a great fall perfume!
I recently found my bottle. I know you smell good!
Back from a sweaty morning walk. I wore dabs of CDG Kyoto and Zagorsk from samples Vee shared. Kyoto is definitely on the wishlist!
You may have been sweaty, but you smelled great!
With the Good weather I decided to wear Un Jardin sur le Nil, and tonight I am in Les Nereïdes Imperial Opoponax doing its usual drydown of Shalimar number.
I love Les Nereides Patchouli Antique, would you say Imperial Opoponax a safe- ish blind buy if you love Shalimar? It’s difficult to get samples, and it’s been on my list for awhile.
I think so, if you also like resinous aspects in perfume.
I love that patchouli, too, but wasn’t as crazy about the oppoponax. And I hear you on the difficultly of finding the brand. I fear I’ll never get to smell the vanilla ?
The best opoponax scent ever. 🙂
DSH Chinchilla today. Still glorious and it’s definitely been too long since I last wore it
You smell wonderful! I love that one on chilly days?
Not particularly chilly here in Denver
Not here either. 78F right now…?
Hello All!
1) It’s still summer for a few weeks, but now the sun rises later and the nights are cooler. SOTD is a combo of BBW Marigold & Cane Sugar Body Mist and Petals by Beauty Pie- perfect after a morning workout and to start the day!
2) I am decided on the 2 typea of e bike that I would like- the Aventon Level in the Step Through has the most utility for the dollar ($1799) while the Gazelle Medeo is smooth and graceful ($2500). But, for now, I will hold off on getting the e bike until AFTER I get a new job, as a reward.
3) I saw a movie last night- in a movie theater! Shang Chi by Marvel. It’s a wonderful movie with an excellent interweaving story, old school martial arts, physical special effects and plenty of wit. Awkafina shows her TRUE acting chops, Tong Leung brings perfect pathos and villany, Fala Chen is as crisp as a white cotton blouse, and Michelle Yeoh brings warmth and spiritual steadiness in the third part of the movie. Simu Liu, when surrounded by all these strong women, really shines. This was worth going to the movies in a mask for. 10/10 gonna see it again tonight.
Apologies- I meant Meng’er Zhang in the above! I wrote notes on my phone and just now double checked!
I saw Shang Chi at the theater yesterday too! Agree it was a 10/10, I have a feeling it’s going to be one of the ones I pull out for rewatching when I just want to enjoy myself for 2 hours! I thought I was done buying a Funko Pop figurines but I could not pass up the Katy/Awkwafina one I saw at Target today…
Oh, there a Funko Pop at Target for Katy? *runs to Target*
Also, I need a Morris plush toy!
Agreed! He was too cute!
This makes me want to see the movie!
Go see it! It’s wonderful!
Wow, I am definitely hearing a lot of good things about Shang Chi. Tempting, very tempting…
Marvel is a mixed bag for me, but this one sounds like a can’t miss. Thanks for the recommendation
I am in Jasmin Antique by Rogue Perfumery. Reminds me of my childhood. My sister and I used to wake up early and gather all the jasmine from the vines and make garlands. We then proceeded to pin them to our hair and play dress up. Those were the days!
What a nice memory! Jasmin Antique is such a realistic jasmine..
Agreed. It’s been living on my list for a while. I still have a sample to thunk, though.
That is such a lovely image!
Sampling Orange Sanguine today, love the first five juicy minutes, but then it goes a bit functional cleaning product on me.. oh well money saved!.
I have a similar experience with this, starts off very nice, doesn’t wear well on my skin…
I’ve tried several in this line and for some reason, they all dry down to the same generic scent. Just doesn’t mesh well with my skin, I guess. ?
All the citruses, yes. They end up just a big mess of overwhelming spices on me.
Yep! I bought it, then gave the bottle away.
Commando this morning, but I sampled Bottega Veneta Absolue side-by-side with PdN Baikal Leather Intense at bedtime last night, both courtesy of the lovely Vee. The BV was very close to BV Eau Légère (which is already in residence on the perfume shelf), but I think I’ve fallen for the PdN … despite really not needing another leather in the collection. But the small-bottle availability — people, I don’t think I have the wherewithal to resist, and besides, there’s a bottle in my LS shopping cart already. What’s a leather lover to do? ?
Only one thing to do!?
That’s what I was thinking! ?
??️? <— SheriG drifting off to sleep in a fragrant cloud of BLI
?
Crack that whip!
Hahaha … if you could see me you’d know how funny that is. In this case, “LOL” stands for “little old lady”. ?
And now Devo is stuck in my head 🙂
So, move it and and out of your cart over the next few days. You may get a surprise discount code. Or wait 2 months before buying for better GWP. (Weird coming from me, right?)
Ooh, good tips — thanks! (And yes — was expecting you to goad me with “dooo eeeet” ?)
You caught me in a weak moment ?
Looking at the fragrances Karl Lagerfeld wore, I have the same sentiment towards Bal d’Afrique as his cat Choupette (? isn’t that name cute?). Byredo is not good on me.
SOTD is Rose Nacree du Desert from a decant. I like it, though patchouli/ saffron oud roses are not normally my thing.
Byredo is kind of “thin” on me, too. Haven’t found one that I loved yet.
Incidentally, Diptyque has the same problem.
Yes, most popular Dyptiques are not great to my nose (at least on me) either especially the woody ones like Volutes or Eau Duelle. I do like Phylosikos in small doses, and Do Son which is a very straightforward tuberose.
I have the same issue with Diptyque. Well, that and just not connecting with any of the dozen+ perfumes I’ve tried.
Started the morning with Gucci No3, later topped up with Aromatics Elixir. Just two more days to go before my vacation begins.
Enjoy your vacation! Are you traveling or is it a staycation?
Oh you smell wonderful! I have a vintage mini of No 3 and was so glad to experience it! I decided not to seek a vintage bottle because they are usually pricey and I don’t have any memories associated with it. I wonder if this style of perfume will ever go mainstream again?! Hooray for vacation countdown – enjoy!
Seems that I’ve joined a couple of people struggling to post. I’ve been reading everyone’s comments whenever I can, but at odd times and usually the next day. However, I’m dropping by to thank the person mentioning the Atlantic article. I read it and thought it was excellent.
SOTD: SL Datura Noir – too sweet for me today, though the husband commented that I smelled nice.
I was glad to read that article too. Always nice to see you.
?
Good to see you back!
Hello, hello!
Now I must find out – what Atlantic article?
The New Puritans by Anne Applebaum. Good article.
Glad to see you posting again. Was just thinking about you ?
I second the request to know which article, please!
See above ?
More dabs from souvenir perfume samples – I keep those in a separate place from the many samples I buy. Today will be Mona di Orio Rose Etoile de Holland. I think it’s been renamed since I got the sample a few years ago.
Thank you for the best wishes for my cat’s safe return. Not yet, it’s been a week. We’re not giving up on Deuc, but our hopes are fading. We still have one cat to keep us company, and Phaedra is also missing her usual companion.
Sorry to hear that there has been no sign of your Deuc kitty.
Oh dear. I hope kitty does come back! They can go on very long walkabouts. But if your area is like mine, with lots of predators, it’s very worrisome. Hoping for the best.
Best wishes for Deuc’s safe return!
Adding wishes for the safe return of your cat.
Hoping for a safe homecoming
My last dearly departed kitty went on two extended walkabouts — after the first, he came home with a new notch in one ear but otherwise unscathed; and the second was apparently a case of a “kind” neighbor “rescuing” him (according to a different neighbor). I never could get him to accept a collar, but I did have him chipped. He finally escaped his rescuer’s clutches after about three weeks and made it back home again. I’ll hope for your kitty’s safe return very soon.
Back at work live this week, and it is fairly odd, but not horrible. I have been putting on small amounts of gentle perfume in the morning e.g. Douceur de Siam, and then using a solid perfume at lunch time. This is all being quite cautious, as everybody’s in a mask if they’re not in their office anyway, but better to be underscented, than overscented and scolded…
La Douceur de Siam is also one of my main choices for non offensive perfume. I cannot imagine anyone complaining about it.
Coco Madge cause I felt like wearing a loud Chanel I guess lol
Tried a cheese yum..it’s called Wensleydale Honey and Lemon..so good. I bought the trial size and glad I did.
109f today…is fall here yet? Lol
Oh my…I hope it’s dry heat!
Another load of laundry done, huzzah! One more load for this week to do, hopefully.
There is now a definitely note of fall in the air at night, and in the early morning hours where I am at. And leaves at the very tip-top of the trees are starting to change color. Daytime temps are still warm, but they now lack the fire of summer’s heat.
SOTD = Encens Jinhae again. Pretty sure that this sample will get thunked. Not sure exactly when, though. Maybe I should have pulled out AG’s Mandragore for the summer-ish weather while I have it? ?
Seems like you’ve really enjoyed Encens Jinhae – are you thinking FB, Jalapeno? Hope you are feeling rested and getting back into your routine!
Encens Jinhae is exactly what I need right now. However, I am not so sure about a FB. I’ve been avoiding my favorite perfumes as of late so I don’t pick up a negative association. IDK when my perfumed world will sort itself out.
I have one last planned trip back to Colorado, for my Mom’s burial.
Thoughts and prayers for a safe trip, and comfort for you and your family.
Woo hoo on the laundry! The most I’ve done in one day was 5 loads of wash and 7 loads to dry (I am very particular about drying temps and whether or not I need laundry sheets vs. wool balls).
Today’s load was a big one, too. It took much longer to dry than usual. I guess that’s what happens when I procrastinate, huh?
SotD Iris Torrefie. I already mentioned I got a full bottle from Saks. It was a good deal, too, because I got a gift card (which turned into a lipstick) and a generous Guerlain skin care sample set, which was fun to use, and I quite liked the Abeille Royale toner. I might put it on my Christmas list.
You smell lovely!
I recently fell in love with the Abeille Royale Youth watery oil after using a sample which arrived with my Shalimar Philtre order.
I should put that on my Christmas list as well…
I have freebies for you too! I got a bunch with my very very recent BG order. Please email me. I will mail them out in October.
Thank you H! I will email today.
I liked that too!
I have freebies for you. I got a bunch with my very very recent BG order! Please email me. I will mail them out in October.
That sounds very fun – emailing you now :\
Oh no – actual *kitten run over keyboard at the moment of sending email* change 😀 to :\
I don’t believe that just happened!
At work so Posting and running.
Sotd is Alien Essence Absolue. One of the great flankers.
Yes, it is. You’re smelling GREAT! ?
Lol Tony! Thanks ?
Co-sign with jalapeño!
Thanks!
SOTD = Nina Ricci Rouge
Yeah, unfortunately I received Rouge instead of EXTRA ROUGE. I emailed Suzan and hopefully I will hear back within a reasonable amount of time. She is not a great communicator in the best of times…
The only thing I can say about this is it’s a generic fruity floral in a very beautiful red lacquered bottle. It’s a red red.

In other news, I should probably stop watching 9-11 20th anniversary shows. It is making me sad about what happened then and what’s happening now.
Oh no! What a bummer about the perfume mix-up.
I won’t watch any of the 9-11 anniversary stuff. It’s too painful.
I’m with you sister!
great photo!
Thanks! I should have known better when the bottle was not flocked. Robin’s new perfume announcement clearly showed the texture but I was too excited to notice the incongruity with the announcement.
I can’t even believe it’s been twenty years and there are now adults who were not even born when it happened. It’s just like yesterday to me. My father, who was a firefighter for the city of Chicago for 25 years passed away that December. I was gutted that this was the last big news thing that was everywhere his last few months. He once fell through the roof of a burning building, so he knew…
Each of the anniversaries came much faster than the previous ones.
It’s all just so very sad.
I hope you get a quick resolution with your order.
