It’s Tuesday and National Watermelon Day. A very happy 95th birthday to Tony Bennett! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm starting the day with a quick spritz of Guerlain Mandarine Basilic. Tea is Upton Season's Pick Yunnan Golden Monkey.
Reminder: on 8/6 we're celebrating Happiness Happens Month. Wear a happy fragrance, and tell us about something that's made you happy recently.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Vista Alegre Primavera Teapot from the Christian Lacroix collection ("Blending graphic, flora and birds to produce a stunning accent for the table, the Primavera collection features magenta dahlias, crimson poppies and buttercup yellow pansies mingled with lush vegetation that seems to be escaping from a labyrinth of immaculate stripes. It's crafted of porcelain, embellished with both handpainted gold/platinum stripes and decal accents.") is $314 at Gumps.
I’m in Hermès Un Jardin En Mediterranee.
It’s another gorgeous and sunny day here. The temps have finally gotten to the point where I can resume my after dinner walks. My husband walks regardless, whether it’s sweltering or freezing. I am more of a fair weather fan. I guess I’m kind of a goldilocks that way, it has to be just right.
My college daughter’s birthday is one week from today. She will be 21.? Hard to believe, she was my baby that was 10 days overdue. 10 days!! I have agreed to take her and madtownteen on a zip line tour that day to mark the occasion. I am equal parts excited and terrified. lol.
You smell marvelous!
Thanks SmokeyToes!?
You smell wonderful! One of my all time favorites. I hope you have an awesome time zip lining.
Thanks NovemberRose, this is one of my summer favorites.
What a milestone birthday! How exciting. She’ll remember ziplining with you forever.
I hope she will.☺️ It should be fun! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for good weather.
I’m a bit queasy with heights, but ziplining looks fun and I’m going to try it some time. Have fun with your babies!
Thanks MossyBerry! I’m not a fan of heights either but ziplining looks like it will be fun. Now, if she asks me to bungee jump or jump out of an airplane, I’m gonna have to pass.
Sounds like a fun birthday celebration.
My husband is the same, walks every day no matter what the weather. I’m really proud of him for doing this. He’s not gone back to the gym but at least has the walking habit down.
I find that walking is really good for the mind. I do some of my best thinking when I am out walking or running.
Happy birthday to your baby girl!
Thanks cazaubon! The years have flown by.
Happiest of Birthdays to your lovely daughter–enjoy that zip line (better you than me!)
Ha! Thanks jepster!
Zip lining is wonderful! Props for being brave enough to adventure with your kids, you’ll love it!
Thanks teebear! I hope so!
You smell lovely. Enjoy the zip line. Oddly, I think maybe I could do that, despite being very challenged by heights.
Thanks! Yeah, I *think* I’ll be okay. I watched some YouTube videos and the fact that one is all strapped in makes me feel less anxious. We’ll go through woods and over water so if nothing else it will be pretty scenery.
What a fun way to celebrate!
Thanks Aurora. I think so too!?
What a wonderful and memorable way to celebrate! You are a most excellent mama bear!! And I agree with your walking preferences entirely.
Aww, thanks Oakland Fresca!☺️I would do (almost!) anything for my kids.
How cool! Enjoy!
I’m not a fan of heights either, but didn’t really notice it when I did my one and only time ziplining.
Thanks Jalapeño, that is good to know!
Happy birthday to your daughter! My daughter was late too..was due June 9/10 and was born June 20th.
Thanks She-ra! After 40 weeks of pregnancy waiting those last several days is so hard isn’t it?
I don’t think I even have anything that smells like watermelon, although I remember the original Benetton did.
Instead, because it’s not hot out, I’m wearing the original Prada Amber from 2004. Though there’s amber from start to finish, it’s not monotonous: the top is brightly green and the middle is all honeyed flowers. It’s a surprisingly good summer scent. I used to think it was kind of boring (it was in my Can Live Without box for a while), but it’s actually very nice.
I know of one that smells EXACTLY like watermelon. And by this I mean realistic watermelon not melon or honey dew. It is by Lily Pulitzer and is called Beachy. It is in a blue bottle. Smells delicious and I loved every spritz of it until I used up the bottle. I LOVE ? by the way.
Now how did they manage to make Beachy have realistic watermelon notes? To this day I don’t know but it was spot on.
Yes, I thought of Beachy too. But I read Watermelon too late, so I am wearing something else.
Olay makes a watermelon and agave scented body wash. I sniffed it at the grocery the other day and it was pretty spot on.
Cool Water Wave for Women used to have a realistic, but short-lived watermelon note. I don’t know if that is still the case.
Robin, we’re scent twins today! Wearing Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic today. I wish they’d carried this scent in a line of body products. Having a shower gel and lotion would be fabulous.
Nordstrom’s has a set of the fragrance and a body lotion so it is out there, just sayin’
ooo! Are they still having their anniversary sale..going to look now
Yep, it’s on sale!
Ohhh, thank you!
Was about to say this! They are fabulous!
Hey twin!!
Hey Twin!! How ya doin’??
Just back from my evening walk, and it’s pretty enough out to walk so I cannot complain!
I am in the last of a 1/2 oz splash bottle of Demeter Tomato that I have had for years. I love it, but I guess that I haven’t worn it that much. I have ordered a 1 oz spray bottle from Demeter. Their prices are going up soon, so anyone who loves any of their fragrances may want to stock up now. Although, even with the increase, their scents are cheap as chips.
I should really buy that one since I am never going to cough up the $$ for Memory of Kindness when mine runs out.
SOTD is Passage d’ enfer.
Gosh I hate alarm clocks unless its getting up for a flight to someplace wonderful.
1 year 8 months to retirement.
Yep. I hit the snooze button at least 5 times and then just changed the time to get up, lol.
You smell great. I hope the day is better than its beginning!
Ah, I just talked to HR – I can retire with 40% health paid by employer in April 2022. Now contemplating my options…adorable hubby says, “Go find a job you love, we don’t have to worry so much about money now…” Hmmm, what do I love?
LOL! That was my conundrum too – I love reading books and petting cats, how do I get paid for that?
Be a catsitter!
Omg dream job!
That’s so cool! And exciting! Let the countdown begin!
Mr. SmokeyToes and I were discussing retirement the other night. I am shooting for December 2025, which will give me 20 years in CalPERS.
I won’t be 65, but I think working until I’m 57 will allow me time to work part time and still have fun….
Nice, I have to work until 67 here in Germany, nine years to go if I pull it through, but I am contemplating part time in the next years
20 years at CalPERS…impressive!
They call CalPERS the “golden handcuffs” for a reason!! ? ?
I’m fortunate to have health care in retirement and a pension, but it hasn’t been easy.
Woo hoo! Because I’m a nerd, one more month before you’re halfway between “start” of pandemic work arrangement and retirement!
Fig Tea today. I’ve been on a fairly strict no-buy since I’ve gone back to school, in an effort to not dip into my savings more than I need to. Plus side of this is that I’m using up a lot of samples.
What made me happy today was that my scholarship from the state of KY was renewed for another semester! It’s a really good program that’s paying for a lot of my degree.
Congratulations! That’s great new and such a help!
Congratulations! You must be doing a great job to get the renewal.
Congratulations!
Congrats!
Lovely, good for you!
Good news!
Woo hoo! That’s great news!?
Congratulations! That must be a lovely financial reassurance!
Woohoo for scholarships!
Congratulations! Great news!
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Great news!
Congratulations!
Yay for your scholarship!
SOTD is Nivea sunscreen. I need to get back to Germany to get more sunscreen as we’re nearly out. Strange reason to go to Germany (there are many more, of course), but I trust the EU regulations on sunscreens more than those in North America and the form factor’s better (my kid likes roll-on sunscreen, and I like the one formulated not to leave white spots on clothes, neither of which I’ve seen here at the ordinary drugstore).
Off to kayak!
Interesting! I have been using Nivea deodorant for 10 plus years and then 5 years ago (or more) I couldn’t find it anywhere in the USA. My in-laws have it everywhere in Canada. So they bring me one or two when they visit. Its the only aluminum free etc etc deodorant that doesn’t make me smell like I haven’t washed my armpits in days
after I exercise and holds up in the hot summers.
A glycolic acid toner in the pits every few days makes them smell less
I love Nivea products. I purchase many of mine from Smallflower online.
In-laws left early this morning. After dropping the kids off at day camp I came home to a quiet apartment. I noticed my father in law left me a thermos of tea by my coffee machine. He is the sweetest. Not gonna lie, I had a little tears. So that is my sip of the day.
I am commando at the moment. Headed to l’occitane this morning to sniff their solid shampoo bars so I don’t want to have any perfume on at the moment. If there is anything I must smell there do let me know.
Such a sweetheart he is.
Awwww. That’s so thoughtful.
That is such a lovely thing to do!
Aww, that is so sweet. I would have had tears too! Enjoy your sip of the day.
What a sweetheart is your FIL!
What a happy moment – you should get lots of CP points for sharing it here!
That is such a lovely gesture! Hope you will be able to visit your in-laws soon.
A friend mentioned the other day that this season’s watermelon is quite good especially if you buy the whole melon.
I also saw in Trader Joe’s yesterday that they sell a watermelon jerky? Anyone try this yet?
SOTD: Bee’s Bliss, a honey/floral happy scent!
I have tried all the fruit jerky-my kids love them as a snack! They are all good. But!!! in my mind Trader Joes does no wrong
haha
Hmmmmmmmm, maybe I will grab one of those cute little “personal watermelons” soon. I am the only person who would eat it, so a big monster melon is out of the question. ?
Mr. She-ra purchased some watermelon jerky at Costco. I mentioned this to my friend and she said, “Does it taste like watermelon shoe leather?” and I said, “Oh, you have had it then. ”
I was not impressed. Didn’t particularly taste like watermelon vs. non-descript fruit and was on the hard side. Maybe my expectations were too high.
No perfume today – we had to put our elderly cat to sleep this morning. It was definitely time for her to go, but that doesn’t make if any easier. I haven’t been wearing a lot of perfume lately because of worrying about her.
So sorry for your loss!
I’m so sorry sistine; sending you hugs. It isn’t ever easy because they are a huge part of the family.
I am very sorry about your cat. Sending you hugs.
So sorry to hear this, Sistine, very hard. May all your wonderful memories with her bring you joy.
I am so sorry, it’s hard to let them go. Big hugs.
So hard. I’m very sorry you had to let her go.
Sorry for your loss.
So very sorry about your kitty–sending love and light to you.
This is always a though decision. Hugs!
I’m really sorry sistine. That is never an easy decision to make.
I’m so sorry — what a difficult and painful experience. Sending hugs and comfort your way.
So sorry for your loss Sistine. Your kitty knew she was loved and had many many happy days with you.
So sorry Sistine.
I am so sorry for your loss Sistine. We never have enough time with our furr babies. Gentle hugs.
I’m so sorry…it’s very hard.
Sending hugs, it’s so difficult to lose a furry friend.
Ach. That is sad. So sorry.
I’m so sorry to read that. Even when you know it’s the right thing to do, it’s very sad.
Sending you hugs. I’m so sorry.
I’m sorry about your kitty, sistine. You’re right, knowing it’s time doesn’t make it any easier.
So sorry to hear about your sweet kitty.
I’m really sorry sistine.
Sending a hug and fellow cat-lover’s sympathy.
My condolences on having to say goodbye to your dear kitty. Even though it is the right thing to do, it always hurts. ??
I am so sorry.
I am so deeply sorry, Sistine. Sending comforting hugs.
So very sorry to hear this. Sending you great, big hugs. You gave her a wonderful life.
Hello all!
I’m in some recently-arrived Mitsouko Parfum de Toilette, just brimming with oakmoss and floral notes. A seller on eBay has at least 11 testers of these listed very reasonably and they sold out within 24 hours. Feeling very lucky to have gotten some.
Stay safe everyone!
So what year do you suppose that is?
I wish I could find some old school Cristalle EdT in pristine condition.
Late 80’s, early 90’s? Pretty dang old.
I did find some sealed 90’s Cristalle so there’s hope! I’ll keep my eyes open for you. ?
Oh, thank you but I doubt I’d buy it anyway without smelling it first! And if I did buy it, it would probably go bad before I used it up, ha.
But I do appreciate the thought — and enjoy your Mitsouko PdT!
SOTD La Chasse aux Papillions, one of my favorite summer scents – pretty flowers without that harsh top note that many linden perfumes (Waltz, I am looking at you) have…I wonder if they do a lotion in this? Trotting off to see…
You do smell great meredifay! (Although I’m so late it’s probably worn off by now.)
Papillon Bengal Rouge as I head to the paint store with my fingers crossed that I can find some decently matched paint to avoid having to paint the whole house.
I recently got a sample of that and I cannot wait to try it! I hope you’re able to match that paint!
You smell fabulous. I think they can color match!
Girding myself for more banging, scraping, and drilling. All of our windows have plastic wrap covering them for the painting that’s to begin in the next week or so. I feel hermetically sealed in my house, and it is not a pleasant feeling.
Tried to chill in Pichola. Very pretty perfume, but I don’t feel relaxed.
Never tried Pichola yet but perhaps it is so pretty it keeps You more excited? ?
Well you smell great stress aside!
How long will the painting take after prep work is done?
SOTM is Zara/Jo Malone Bohemian Bluebells. I get honey and floral (as opposed to herbal) lavendar. Not my favorite of what I’ve tried so from the Emotions line. I’m good with linear or sweet, but I get a bit bored when it is both. I’m surprised they called it Bluebells given that it is lavendar, not bluebells. I’d expected something similar to Wild Bluebells, and I bet a lot of other people did too.
Drinking Clipper Ship decaf English Toffee tea. It’s tasty, but I’m feeling the decaf.
Hmmm…. that sounds quite nice actually. I am not a fan of the Bluebells perfume, but a honey and floral lavender sounds lovely!
Honey and lavender brings to mind Mon Guerlain EdP for me.
SotD = Ashoka. This perfume makes me so happy. One of my signatures. Also owning a BUB of this brings me a lot of joy.
Went shopping with my Mom for groceries. I told my Mom tomorrow I’ll be making clear broth chicken soup with fresh chicken drums. My Mom said she will help (afterall she is the cook in the family and teaches me). We got fresh leaks, fresh celery root, parshnips, carrots, cabbage (yes we add an organic small head of cabbage into the broth) and we will “burn” two onion bulbs and drop them in the broth too. If using a gas stove – the onion bulbs get put directly onto the burner and then dropped in the broth. But since our stove is all electric we “burn” pur onion bulbs in the oven. Parshnip is a vegetable to produces parsley green on the top. Speaking of parsley the finished chicken soup will be garnished with it. And one cute bonus: I love and can smell the parsley in Ashoka’s notes!! Cannot wait to eat our chicken soup when it gets ready tomorrow.
That chicken soup sounds delicious!
Thank You!! Will send You a virtual bowl ?
That soup sounds divine!
Thank You thank You!!
Your virtual soup makes my mouth really water
I am making vegetable beef tomorrow; we eat soup and chili all year round.
Chanel No 19 EDT ?
Yum.
Good stuff!
Still in Eau Premiere for right now but about to get into the shower since I took care of a couple things that I needed to. Debating on if I should go the Sarrasins route or go with Lyric. I will decide when I get into the shower.
You smell great!
LADDM, because I wanted to feel like a holiday in Marocco.
Two coworkers wanted to know what I am wearing.
Now making buttered beans and salsicchia for dinner. Our garden is brimming with vegetables, minus our lost tomato crop.
I adore LADDM, so exquisite…
You smell fabulous.
You smell(ed) fantastic today!
I have come to a realization.
My perfume spending is directly correlated to the time I spend reading articles and reviews on Fragrantica. Talk amongst yourselves. ?
Correlation does not imply causation but I have, by far, spent the most time on Fragrantica in 2021 and also spent the most money on perfume in 2021 since I have been tracking fragrance spending. Coincidence? I think not.?
If I spent less time on Fragrantica, I strongly suspect my spending might go down but my joy would decrease too and I need all the joy I can get. ?
Wearing Korres Midnight Dahlia…a blind buy I read about on Fragrantica in 2021…
I say Joy always wins out ?
Hahaha!
Indeed…choose joy!
Go for the joy! Life is short.
Yes, it is!…choose joy!
Still commando due to today not being much of a happiness sort of day thus far, but I’ll probably put on something light and refreshing later. Largely sleepless night after a third car breakdown in the past two weeks — this time I nearly got stranded 45 minutes from my house rather late at night but made it home with a jump start. Had to cancel my day of fieldwork and a dinner date with a friend, and instead of being blissfully unaware out in the woods today I’m in front of my computer, watching emails come in about Things Going Wrong. Fun times all around! Sometimes when I haven’t slept I wind up feeling too queasy for fragrance and that’s the case today so far.
Ugh that sounds like a Lot. Hope for a change of mood for you as the day goes on!
Oh dear. I hope things settle for you soon.
Boo to your bad day. I hope tomorrow is better.
Here’s hoping your day improves and tomorrow is a great day….
“. . . watching emails come in about Things Going Wrong” does not sound very fun. I hope you get a good night’s rest tonight!
So sorry for all the stress, I hope things get better soon. Hugs.
Oh goodness. Hope things get better soon.
Oy vey! That sounds like a Very Bad No Good Terrible day. Hope that tomorrow is an improvement.
Been there. Hope you sleep tonight. I can always handle the Things Going Wrong better with sleep. Best of luck with all that!
Hugs, Isabella.
Sorry for your car trouble and cancelled plans. I hope tomorrow is a much better day that includes perfume!
SOTD is SL Santal Majuscule. Testing out another sample. It’s nice but I think out of the two SL samples I bought, I prefer Chergui.
You smell wonderful – I love Santal Majuscule and you’ve reminded me to dig out my sample of Chergui!
Hello!
Happy Tuesday all!
1) Will be in Omorovicza Bagatelle de Gabrielle after my bodypump workout and shower. It’s a lovely orange flower scent!
2) Working on the next 3 months – certification testing, interview blocks, and a possible NYC or LA trip. The job ends in Late November, so blocking off squares of time to do testing is key right now. And am following Hajusuuri’s advice on making a matrix as to what I need and want with my next position, including pay.
Super! Nothing like a fair runway for the matrix to provide value!
In the tiniest drop of Zoologist Hyrax and still feeling like a bull in a china shop even though I’m alone in my apartment! I do enjoy it on the rare occasion, but my word, subtle it is not. I don’t have to be at work til 7pm though so hopefully it will mellow by then.
Love the teapot Robin!
The exhibition I have been working for FINALLY opened last week! It feels great to have people in, and now we just need to settle into the rhythm of the workload.
Congratulations!
Good for you about the exhibition! Hope it continues to go well.
LOL about “subtle it is not.”
w00t w00t for your exhibition opening!
Yay, that’s great!
Yay for your exhibition!
SOTD is Paris-Deauville, after indulging in Shikai Cucumber Melon shower gel. I feel very fresh!
I wonder if the Shikai shower gels smell the same as they did 20 years ago — the cucumber melon and the apricot rose one were in constant rotation through my college years and I’ll bet a sniff would zoom me right back to that time!
Oh, I bet they would! Scents are often powerfully linked to memories.
In Hiris and it makes me happy.
SOTD is a cologne from the Clean Reserve, Rain.
Pretty but fleeting.
I miss the old China Rain. A company called perfectly scentsable is making it again, I may get a sample or small bottle.
My knitting group is meeting in person today for the first time since March 2020. Unfortunately we have to mask up and socially distance due to the Delta variant, but it should be fun anyway.
I remember China Rain.
And do enjoy the knitting group!
Yardley Iris layered with Lush Snowcake during the day, this evening I Profumi di Firenze Vaniglia del Madagascar. I should explore this line more as I enjoy the two I have – the other is Agrumi di Sicilia.
I love your iris almond combo! So wonderful.
Thank you Gail, they do go well together, YI is a little talked about gem, glad you know it.
What a gorgeous teapot!
Was commando earlier in order to attend a Village public info session on a major project to renovate the downtown roadway in our little hamlet. The plans all make sense, but it’s a harsh welcome to the joy of homeowner taxes….
Came home and sprayed on Paris-Biarritz (thank you Madtowngirl!) and enjoying the green.
You smell(ed) great!
SOTD–Harry’s Fig Soap from my shower….still good! Trying to make some vacation/travel plans but with so much up in the air, I am not sure that I am ready. Maybe by the late fall….
Lunch tomorrow with a dear old friend at a charming old cafe…..what scent should I wear????
Where were you thinking? I am not getting near an airplane until July 2022 but even that is in jeopardy. Oh, and no cruises for a long while.
After spring-like weather in the weekend, winter is back – brrr! On the positive side, I do like the feeling of wrapping up in a big warm coat and boots.
Perfume-wise, I’m thinking of TF’s Noir de Noir. That’s potent enough to fight the cold.
NdN is also a very cuddly perfume, so it’s a great pick as a winter weather warmer.
Scented PSA: Pacifica is discontinuing their Tuscan Blood Orange body butter. It’s on final closeout on their website. If you like it, grab it while it’s still affordable!
Not affiliated.
SOTA is Kierin’s Pier NY from a sample they sent me with an order. It is salty fruit, (the brand says fig, but I get some green apple in there too), and mimosa flowers. I wasn’t expecting much, but turns out I like fruity florals when they are salty and not sweet.
So far only one major moving meltdown – an argument over an ugly old table that was supposed to go in the basement but my dad now says he needs for his home office. My sister called me in tears. It is currently in the office, but my dad doesn’t know how to put it back together and my mom has instructed everyone not to help him. Clearly, everyone is exhausted and cranky. I’m going to bring a batch of Carvel Flying Saucers over for dessert – that usually puts my family in a good mood.
There are some nice tables to be had for under $150 at Home Goods. It also all depends on what he is using it for.
None of us know what it is for.
ARGH! Sorry to hear that there has been some aggro with your parents’ move. Not unexpected, but irritating all the same.
I hope the table issue gets resolved smoothly. My hubby’s parents (well, mother mostly) wanted the hutch moved when they moved out of their house. This was one piece that they couldn’t let go of! Sentimental reasons probably.
It’s been moved 2 times in a few years (they moved into an apartment and out of the care home).
Love Carvel and specifically the flying saucers! Reminds me of the east coast though we can get the cakes here in southern CA too.
Moving is stressful and helping others move can be more stressful still. Good luck and big hugs. I do believe ice cream will help.
SotD = Assam of India
Tea for Tuesday, with a slice of lemon?
of course, and it’s a warm day to boot. Perfect.
I guess I’m turning into one of those wears-a-sweater-in-August people. Over the past year I have felt cold a lot of the time, so the warmer summer weather makes me very happy.
Oddly, over the last year my sister (three years younger) always feels too warm (darn those hot flashes). The summer heat has been hard on her.
I’m happy today because at 2:30 this afternoon I will be at the eye doctor, hopefully will have the last of my stitches removed. It will be a sweet relief. In any case, I’m grateful for the miracles of modern medicine.
Keep on sniffin’, friendly fragrant NSTers! You smell like a million bucks.
Woo hoo on light at the end of the tunnel. You smell great!
Huzzah for getting stitches out!
So glad you are free of those stitches and continuing down the healing path.
Yay for getting your stitches out!
SOTD = Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Intensement
? a bottle will be mine at some point shortly!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CSIBbZXJxpJ/?utm_medium=copy_link
We have first world problems going on. Yesterday, I perused Best Buy to scope out a possible laptop / peripherals purchase as we can get reimbursed up to $1,100. The laptops all seem to have gone up in price. The one I am using now (for work) was the princely sum of $407 bought April 2019. Now, a similar one would set me back $1,300! I also want to know why there isn’t a laptop where one can telescope the screen a little higher without separating it from the keyboard clamshell? I think this will solve a good number of people complaining about achy backs and shoulders from hunching. Of course if you have a separate monitor already, it is not a problem.
Looking forward to seeing Spicy Owl standing next to the full bottle for a pink on pink motif!
You will see it sooner than you think ?
That would be a great invention! I know a number of people who use a separate keyboard for this reason, and put their laptop up on a stand or pile of books.
There was one where the screen can come come off but I don’t want to have to deal with 2 separate pieces. The clumsy person that I am, putting it back successfully may turn out to be a tall order.
That chip shortage is affecting both new computer prices and new car prices.
On a totally different note, I guess I need to get a sniff of LVEB Intensement one of these day. Should be easy enough to find that one. You said it was at Macy’s right?
The guy at Best Buy said no, prices haven’t really gone up much. ???
Yes, Macy’s has a Lancôme counter and the stores generally do have Lancôme. That said, if you were to go into the NYC and feel like browsing at Bergdorfs, I’m pretty sure Lancôme is no longer there.
Traveling doesn’t have much appeal for me right now. I’ll see what I can find locally.
But I already have confessions for Donatella for this quarter. Yep, I fell off the no-buy wagon.
I meant to comment yesterday on the Intensement…are we living parallel perfume lives?
I stumbled on that one a month or two ago and bought a tester off evilBay and can email the seller b/c I believe they still have bottles left…let me know if interested. Oh and I also bought my original decants based on reviews on Fragrantica. ehaehaeh Choose joy!
I just emailed you the Ebay link ehaehe my need to enable is strong so strong I could not resist…they appear to have 1 bottle left.
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/IvSbQB6-UdY
It seems that everyone knows what the first video played on MTV was. This link does NOT go to that, though. This is the second video that was played.
Another load of laundry done! The post-travel mountain of laundry is definitely getting cut down to a manageable size.
SOTD = returning to Atelier Cologne Encens Jinhae. This sample might end up getting thunked if I keep this up…
That’s good trivia to know! Good luck with the laundry.
Thanks Vee! I have maybe one or two more loads this week, unless something unforeseen or unfortunate happens.
Once upon a time when I was a full-time firefighter I watched a young (incidentally inebriated) colleague burn a giant pile of his dirty socks in his front yard because he just couldn’t face the laundry effort involved. Still makes me laugh…
Wow! That is funny!
Thankfully, I haven’t ever been at that point. Gotten close, though, if I am being honest with myself.
Nice! Sometimes, the less glitz the better!
I actually like doing laundry. My little tip is to actually repack your suitcases with the laundry inside out and already sorted in accordance with your system.
I usually don’t mind doing it, but when it feels like the laundry treadmill is never-ending, that gets on my nerves.
I’m wearing Jasmin des Anges and having a good day despite a couple of blisters from shoes I haven’t worn in a long time. I knew I should have worn those footie things. Now I’m wearing Band-Aids.
SOTD: first Nirvana Amethyst, then SJP Stash. The play well together!
Speaking of happiness, I would be happier if I could make all the fragrances I love stay on my skin as long as SL’s Participe Passe. Wow this sucker is mighty! I sprayed it on my wrist at my local perfume store 30 minutes ago and remembered why NSTers have such strong feelings about it (both ways).
Participe Passe is in a class by itself for lasting-power!
That’s an excellent way to describe it
SotD Le Lion. I love it *however* I think my FB dollars need to go somewhere else! I have a wonderful split from the split meet, and have worn it several times. I could see changing my mind by the time my decant is gone. It has wonderful lasting power. Little lemmings need to stay busy elsewhere for now.
I got a smile of the mental image of your lemming in the “Time Out” corner…
Ha! I may wear mine tomorrow.
