Monday again, plus Flag Day and World Blood Donor Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm heading home after a quick weekend trip to the beach. I'm wearing a dab of Aftelier Candide. I may or not be able to post again until tomorrow, we'll see how the day goes.
Reminder: on 6/18, we're doing edition 3 of Bottle Porn Friday, by request. Wear something you bought in part or in full because of the bottle, or a fragrance you think has a beautiful (or otherwise perfect) bottle. (suggested by michael and happy888cat, this is a repeat of a project we did in 2015 and 2017.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Where did the weekend go!? Too soon for a new week. Anyway, good morning.
I am in Guerlain’s Terracotta to escape reality.
Currently drinking a tall glass of iced tea and having an apple.
Had I known Terracotta was the way to escape reality, I wouldn’t have done all those drugs. Lol! Just kidding. You smell great! ??
Lol.?
??
What a trip!
I see what you did there. ?
?
Excellent.
?!
Had a physically lovely but mentally difficult weekend. I’m wearing Gardenia again. Hoping it will transport me away to a floral paradise, and away from being nibbled to death by the ducks of my own brain.
It’s gonna be a week…
I wish you a better week than expected.
I’m sorry about your weekend, also hoping your week goes better than anticipated!
I hope your week is not so difficult! Hugs!
You smell sublime!
Wishing you help that comes from unexpected places.
Here’s to a better week ahead!
Gardenia is a good choice to battle those ducks. The LOTV in there is poisonous to them. Sending virtual hugs as reinforcement.
May it be a gentle and positive week, in spite of your misgivings! Sending hugs!
Nibbled by the ducks of my brain.
I need to use that line. I do hope you have a good week.
Seriously! I am still disturbed by the image so it works.
I hope the ducks aren’t too active. Wishing you a great week and some mental peace!
Sorry about the brain ducks <3 wishing you a mentally easier week!
Oh, I hope this week ends up being better than you would expect. Take good care of yourself!
Hopefully your SOTD acts as brain duck repellent! ?
Opened up the cabinet and randomly chose Stetson. It’s nice.
Booked our second COVID vaccine this morning: got AstraZeneca the first time around, getting Pfizer for the second shot, which is apparently the way to go. We’ll be vaccinated on the 24th, and then we’ve done all we can do, I guess.
Congrats on getting an appointment for your second jab!
Congratulations on booking your 2nd vax appointment.
Yay for second jab! And you have done the best that you can!
I saw over the weekend that mRNA vaccines like Pfizer are 88% effective against the new, more contagious Delta variant, which is still great. Wonderful to hear you are getting one!
Congrats on the second dose!
Good for you. I was wondering if when it’s time for a booster, we would be recommended another brand vaccine than what we had the first time.
Yay for getting that second vax appointment in!
I’m wearing Mal-Aimé by Parfum d’Empire. When I first sniffed this, I thought it smelled rather savory, but on, it is (so far) quite herbal. Pretty.
Sounds interesting! PdE is one of my favorite brands but I haven’t tried anything new for a year or two.
Oh, do you love it though?
I’m in OJ Champaca. This weekend was gorgeous. Two beautiful days of sun and blue skies with no clouds, and we have another one today! And I’m off!??
Discovered a really cool thing on the Chanel website yesterday and that is the lipscanner app. Have you seen this? You can take a picture of anything and the app will analyze it and match the closest lipstick. Ever in search of the perfect MLBB lipstick, I took a picture of my lips, lol, and now I have a tube of Boy on the way. Here’s hoping.?
Sounds cool! That’s a good interactive way to market stuff online because you’re literally participating in customization.
It is pretty cool. I’ll see how well it works!?
I’m just now getting your good weather. Report back on the lipstick. I’m always in search of the perfect burgundy.
I’m so glad you’re getting this good weather!? I will definitely report back on the lipstick. It’s so hard to find the perfect color.
Wow! Will have to try that and see what it recommends!
I find it impossible to figure out from the photos on websites because the colors aren’t true, and sheerness/opacity vary so much.
Yes, give it a try! It is really hard to pick out a lipstick online. I really like to try it on the back of my hand, even then I strike out sometimes!
Wow, that’s cool! I hope you continue to have great weather.
Thanks! Me too, I’m loving it!?
Yay for a weekend of good weather, and some lippy fun!
The forecast is looking good too!??
Black Cherry Merlot by BBW, which I liked better in the store. The cherry note is nice but doesn’t last at all..but it is BBW. No idea why I paid 17.50 plus tax for this. I think it was partly for the experience of seeing ppl out and about and sniffing again. I remember when the body sprays were like 12 bucks..lotions 5-8 bucks. The Fresh Cut Lilacs was nice too and the peachy one..but honestly..I refuse to pay like 55 dollars in BBW body sprays. No way lol.
The body sprays ALWAYS seem to smell better in the store! And they are ephemeral! But I do like the shower/lotions/sprays for that fleeting, skin scent goodness, and it is nice when you just want more a pick me up than a tenacious scent.
I try to always do a test spray and then walk around the mall for a while. Even then, they smell different at home or on another day.
That’s crazy! They are 13.50 here. I only buy bbw with a coupon/sale though.
SOTD is Lubin’s Eva. Yesterday’s was Lubin’s Anna. Anna was a sheer, salty/marine rose. It had some citrus, but it came off as fresh and sparkly, not fruity. It’s a nice change of pace from sweet-fruity-roses and powdery-roses. It would make for a good hot weather rose and it is in my “consider further for a FB” pile.
Eva came out at the same time as Anna and I assumed it would essentially swap orange blossom/neroli for rose, but I was wrong. Eva is powdery and (please excuse this poor descriptor) perfumey (in the way that a painting can be painterly). As a result it more like a companion to Lubin’s Grisette, which is a perfumey rose. I love Grisette, so in theory I should also like Eva, but it isn’t doing much for me today. I’m putting it in the “consider further” pile, but only because I’m surprised that I don’t love it. Maybe I’m having an off day.
Drinking Clipper Ship’s Honey Orchid tea
Claiming a CP point because I think the flat-capped, curvy Lubins bottles are beautiful. I’m disappointed that I don’t love more of the frags in these bottles because I would love to have a line of them with the different colored caps 🙂
I love those bottles too. Haven’t found a Lubin fragrance that rang my chimes yet, but Anna sounds like it might be the rose scent I’ve been searching for. If it comes in that bottle, I’ll be sorely tempted to blind-buy.
Which Lubins have you tried?
Not many, admittedly – just Korrigan and Epidor. Both sounded intriguing, but neither worked on me. The Lubin line has expanded quite a bit since I last looked at the line-up — are there any that you particularly like?
Email me. I’ll send you some samples. No reason to blind buy: gillian dot money in gee male (but spell gillian with a j and spell money with two Os instead of one)
Just emailed – thanks very much!
I love the Lubin bottles and loved the few older Lubin scents I tried, years ago. Haven’t kept up with them at all, but Anna sounds right up my alley. If I ever make it to a perfume shop carrying Lubin again, I’ll have to give it a sniff!
It’s nice to read your take on the new Lubin fragrances. I’m very much enjoying your Grisette sample! It’s so very pretty.
Woohoo! Another recruit for Team Grisette! I’m so happy you like it.
Lubin’s Anna sounds similar to one of the Rosine’s that I tried a few years ago, Un Zeste de Rose. It was summery rose with citrus. No salt, though.
In Hermes Hiris.
Happy Monday! ?
You smell fabulous!
Thank you! ?
Happy Monday ?
?
You smell so good! And I love the bottle! Great choice for the CP.
Thank you, Gail!
Smelling gorgeous!
Thank you!
Do you have the drop dead gorgeous blue bottle?
I do! So beautiful!
NICE!
SOTD = Dior Dune EDT (vintage)
It’s actually sobering to think that a perfume from the 90s is vintage! Just look at the bottle. And if you have ever smelled the perfume, you will agree with me that it is a good start to Bottle Porn Week!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CQGxSsoBH1i/?utm_medium=copy_link
I’m doing a deep clean of my stove top. Maybe a deep clean is too lofty a goal but I wanted to basically degrease it. Small steps! I started last night. Wish me luck!
Dune is just magical. I did not know that it came in a 15ml. So cute!
Good luck with the stove top!
Isn’t it adorable? I don’t know why that size is no longer available. I have also seen a mini – even cuter – displayed on the wall of minis when OsswaldNYC had a storefront.
I saw your picture of it in IG. It’s gorgeous. I used to have a bottle and can remember that scent well. It’s unique and beautiful.
Best of luck with the stove cleaning project! You’re a better woman by far than I!
If you only saw the filth … it is now cleanish ?
Oh, I have to do that with my stove, which is, frankly, diz-guz-ding. I keep a couple of pans on the burners to block the sight, so I don’t have to notice it with much frequency (it’s the head-in-the-sand solution that’s been working for me lately).
Good luck!
Thank you. I went to Lowe’s to get a gap cover between the stove and the countertop. Nada. I ordered it from Amazon but it won’t get here until next week. In the meantime, I am going to be using a pot to sauté stuff. I also need to wipe it down more often.
Oh, I love Dune! And the bottle is so curviliscious. As for my stove, I’m literally considering just buying new parts for it so that I don’t have to clean the old ones…
You and I both think alike with the let me just get it new. I almost did that with my car but I would go bankrupt quickly we’re I to do that!
Curviliscious!!!
Good luck on the cleaning. Dune is a scent I’ve been curious about for a while – now that things are more open I’ll swing by a department store and ask an SA if I can try it.
You might have to ask for it. My Macy’s has it behind the counter, not even displayed.
Thanks! All done with the cleaning and I am happy with the B- ?.
You can hit me up for the vintage version!
ZOMG, what a cute bottle! It’s perfect.
And good for you on cleaning the icked up stove/oven. That’s a tedious task.
It is cute!
I had to start last night because I knew I would lose interest if I had to do everything today and a stove is a staple. I planned to not use it today though so had gone into Wegmans to get a Poke bowl ? for dinner. Lunch was a salad.
That bottle is the cutest! I may copy you and wear Dune tomorrow. It is so good!
The bottle and the juice go well together!
Tell me how to degrease…mine is disgusting… Dune is wonderful.. in my top 5 of all…
Vinegar is your friend! Also, if you use disposable drip pans, make sure you have them on hand. I have a gas range.
1. Using several layers of newspapers, line the area in front of your stove, including slightly underneath and at the corners.
2. Remove the grates and set aside (on top of newspapers) to clean later since it is the last thing you will put back.
3. Remove drip pans and either dispose or set aside the reusable ones for washing.
4. Remove the range hood filter and wipe with paper towels, then soak in warm soapy water. Let dry when reasonably clean. Replace when dry.
5. Wipe down the stove top with paper towels first, then spray with white vinegar and let sit for a few minutes. It’s best not to dilute the vinegar so make sure to wear gloves. Then use paper towels to wipe off the vinegar. I had to do mine over 4 times to get the grease out, not perfect, but close enough! On the last wipe, use a lint free cloth. Hold on to the cloth to use on the grills.
6. Wipe the top of the oven door cover, the front of the controls, the touchpad for the oven. You may be surprised that cabinet doors around the stovetop may also have some grease spatters. For these, just use paper towels or follow your manufacturer’s instructions (mine are no name or at least I don’t recall) so I just wiped with paper towels.
7. Once the stovetop is dry, line the burners with your choice of drip pans or clean reusable ones. I use the disposable type that I got from Amazon which I think was $8 for 50; going forward, I won’t wait for them to get yucky before replacing.
8. Wash the grills. Mine are 2 largish pieces and thank God my kitchen sink is not divided. I also used vinegar to clean the grills and the lint free cloth to wipe them down. Place grills back on the stovetop.
9. I only use 2 out of 4 burners but I lined the other 2 with drip pans, covered each with a burner cover, and lined the top with heavy duty aluminum foil.
Good luck! I think the key to not have to do it when desperate (I was) is to wipe it down after use.
Thank you for taking the time and giving me such precise advice and help!!!
I just want to say that perfume people are the best kind of people… I wish every “stranger” was this wonderful to another human.
Weird weather here — foggy but bare-feet-level warm so the day feels half tropical, and each day this week it’s supposed to get 10 degrees hotter until we’re begging for mercy on Thursday, and this after frost last week. So bizarre. I’m in Le Chevrefeuille because it goes perfectly with warm and muggy.
I’m a little bit worried that at 7am this morning I thought, “Thank God it’s Friday…”
That sounds like yucky weather – I hope it doesn’t get too uncomfortable!
Ha, I would be worried about that too!
Expecting some heatwave later this week but today’s 23*C made me opt for Dom Rosa which is a very nice perfume. I don’t mind smelling like a champagne with hint of grapefruit and rose.
That sounds like a delicious cocktail!
SL Diam Blonde today. Usually I wear this in cooler weather but it has been so long I grabbed it today. Two days of tracing left!
Meant to say 2 days of teaching left
Woo-hoo!
Plus you smell great!
You can do it!!
Almost there!
Sampling Dior Tobacolor today from a most generous NSTer and WOW…beautiful spices, honey and tobacco…oh my! ? ? ?
I didn’t spray too much b/c another NSTer warned me this stuff is strong and she was not kidding. 😉
I see no less than 3 reviews on Fragrantica cite this as sexy and I must concur! ??
You have me intrigued now!
that sound yum!
It is a wonderful perfume!
Woke up wearing Lyric. Last week and this weekend was rough for no reason and hoping this week will be better. Spending time in Pleasures today.
I hope it’s better week for you!
Wishing you an easier week!
Wishing you a gentle week! Waking up in Lyric sounds like a good way to start off on the right foot…
I hope you have a good week.
Sending gentle good vibes your way.
I hope this week will be better for you too!
I hope this week is better for you!
I’m in Escale a Portofino today, after spritzing it on late yesterday and hearing Mr. G say “it smells like Hawaii in here”. We’re having rain on a biblical scale lately, which I’m hoping will help with the drought conditions predicted for our area, but I’m telling you it’s so humid! My hang-to-dry laundry from yesterday STILL isn’t completely dry, 24 hours on.
Rain plus humidity is really not fair.
Believe me, in Houston that would NEVER get dry!
I started out in TF Mellalique for the cp. I wasn’t really feeling it, so am switching to No. 19 from the purse stash. The heat and humidity finally broke here. We need some rain now.
I meant No.19 Poudre.
I like your purse stash!
Funny story… while I was decanting for the swapmeet, I decanted the Poudre, then couldn’t remember who to send it to. After checking, it turned out that it wasn’t for anybody, so into the purse it went! Lol. My brain sometimes…
That sounds like something I’d totally do! Kind of a happy accident.
You smell good, I like this flanker.
Yes, I go back and forth over which I like more between this and the edp. I don’t know the edt.
I know the EdT and the Poudre, but not the EdP.
Hope you get rain then! ☔??
It actually rained unexpectedly and briefly. We are very dry here.
Time to amend my comment to “Hope you get REAL rain then”! And not a tease.
Shanghai Lily for start of new project. why did I not get a BUB of this?
ah, yes, the dilemma to get a BUB or not?
Happy again in Art Collection No. 08, since it worked so well for me yesterday.
I might go ahead and be happy again tomorrow in today’s choice too 🙂
You have inspired me to try this.It sounds like all the notes I would love. Thanks you!
Started the day in Par Amour Toujours but now a skin scent, so am now in Cinéma.
I always liked the Cinema bottle, too.
Yes, sleek and classy, the ads were rather glamorous as well.
We talked about some perfume names being embarrassing over the weekend, so I spritzed on I Am Trash.
Has “goofiest names” ever been a CP?
I’ll bet a lot of us would be in ELDO! How is I Am Trash? Does it smell like pear cores and used tea bags?
Ripe apples and woody musk to me. Not bottle worthy but I’ll go through the decant.
The first time I encountered ELDO was at a little perfumerie in France. The SA spritzed me with Putain des Palaces, told me its name, and had a nice chortle with the other SAs at the shock on my face upon hearing the name.
Good question…will have to check if we’ve done anything like that.
Bvlgari Pour Femme bought when I still thought that owning three bottles of perfume was a lot ?. Second day in the office, feeling so much better not spending so much time by myself.
I remember those days, but only vaguely!!
Really glad you are enjoying being back in the office. I take it many people are conflicted.
No I’m good, still things are far from being back to normal and I will just have to figure out how it will be when everyone is present again, but so far so good.
SotD = Eau de Fleurs de Cedrat over Terracotta
Been on a Guerlain binge since Friday evening. Today’s combo of citrus + florals is one of my favorites. I loved Terracotta from first sniff but wished it had a little more citrus sparkle up top. Adding EdFdC makes it perfect. I use it to add citrus to Mon Precieux Nectar too.
Over the weekend I enjoyed Mon Precieux Nectar, Vol de Nuit EdT, L’heure Bleue EdT and EdP, and Cologne du Parfumeur. It’s been a while since I’ve indulged in wholehearted perfume-wearing with top ups through the day. I smell like a perfume factory in overdrive.
Hope everyone enjoys a marvelous Monday. 😀
Oh I bet you smell marvelous!
You smell great and I’m inspired by your “top ups”!
Monday!
1) SOTD- Am in Heliotrope Guided by Light perfume oil , the maker is local, called AgeoEarth Collective. It’s a warm, pretty white floral that radiates. Perfect on this rainy, rainy day.
2) We need the rain so badly here.
3) The strawberries are here. The cherries are here. I have to hurry up with my kitchen so that I can get cracking!
Oh, the cabinets look so nice!!
Commando today and yesterday – we were up at my father-in-laws for the ceremony of the 5th anniversary of my mother-in-laws death, and I just didn’t feel like wearing perfume.
It was weird to think it is also the 5 year anniversary of when I stopped lurking and started posting on NST. Lurking and reading this lovely community’s posts brought the only bright spots in the very hard year leading up to her death, and I remember being very anxious to express proper gratitude. Thanks again!
Sending hugs — anniversaries of losses can be hard. And so glad you’re part of this community and have found comfort here. Right there with you on that!
We both de-lurked in 2016, then.
Hugs and sympathy to you on this somber anniversary.
Sending hugs!
It felt like you’ve been around much longer! Death anniversaries are never easy – hugs!
Adding my hugs.
And more hugs.
Good morning all! A bit dull and damp here, but not cold. It’s been a mild start to winter. I’ve decided on Le Galion Sortilège.
A mild start to winter is a good thing, right? Sorry it is dull and damp though.
Hey NSTers, I’m recuperating from an emergency appendectomy at home in a bright little cloud of AS Saturday. My fiancé, who had been on vacation to see his parents on the east coast, flew back immediately to take care of me, and some friends took me home from the hospital and hung out with me until he arrived at 1am. Thank goodness my fiancé can work from home and continue to take care me, and thank goodness I have a job that gives me all the sick leave I need! I’m a little high on pain meds right now, which permits me to sit upright and faff about on the computer.
Moral of the story: No matter how many times you tell yourself it’s just a little gas, sometimes it’s actually appendicitis.
Yikes! I am glad they got it out and that you are safe and well, recuperating.
Thank you, OF <3 me too!
Oh goodness! I’m glad you’re okay and have time and resources at hand to recuperate. May your recovery be swift! And hey, now you can go to sea without worrying about your appendix.
Thank you Isabella! I must say I never once in my life worried about my appendix when going to sea, but yes, now my mind can rest easy 🙂
Ai yi yi! Scary! Glad to hear that you are recuperating at home with your fiancé to help.
Thank you Jalapeno!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Thank you, pl67!
Oh no! Glad you are home and that your fiancé made it back. Appendicitis is no joke, hope you are feeling better soon!
Thanks mtg! Me too!
Egads, glad you’re now recuperating!
Thank you hajusuuri <3
Oh Koyel!!
rest, and feel better soon!
Thank you, apsara <3 I’ve got to say, I know most people had an awful 2020, but it’s 2021 that’s shaping up poorly for me!
Glad you are being taken care of. You really have a great guy!
Thank you <3 I totally do, don’t I?
Oh my goodness, so glad you are ok! That’s just scary.
Thank you Robin! It was extra scary because I had to drive myself to the doctor’s office and then straight from there to the hospital, and I’d driven exactly twice in the previous 15 months!
Wow, yes, I can see how that would make the whole thing way worse!! Good for you for making it.
No bottle porn today—just one of the best frags known to perfumistas: Azemour Les Orangers.
Ah, yes.
Truly one of the best.
It’s strangely muggy here today (rather unusual), I decided to lean into the humidity with Jungle l’Elephant. It does count for CP too since I might love the cute elephant bottle even more than the scent!
I’m very exhausted from graduation weekend social activities, I’m quite sure I chatted with more people in person this past weekend than I did all last year! My only goal this week is to tidy up all of my son’s school stuff from this past year, ie. throw them out! ?
I don’t get along with the Elephant ?
I bought a full bottle because I convinced myself I would get along with it. Nope, long since given away.
Woo-hoo for throwing it out! Congratulations again to him!
Question of the day to myself is “Why are you carrying around a bag of makeup in your purse? You haven’t worn any in more than a year.” I have no good answer other than habit. Maybe I can pare it down to an eyeliner, blush, and lipstick. My purse is heavy enough already! SOTD is Dior Jasmin des Anges.
Is this from the exclusive line? I don’t think I have heard of it before.
Yes the Maison Privee line.
Do you love it??!? Always looking for a great Jasmine
I’m in the Paris-Venise trifecta of shower gel, lotion and eaux today. I love the simplicity of these Chanel bottles; clean lines and they fit easily into my hand.
Agreed. And the sprayers are excellent.
You smell great!
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/BZDuniNpZsQ
I *hated* the actual “official” video of this, so i went with this video instead. ?
Waiting for possible thunderstorms this afternoon/evening. ⚡
And now for the second part of my trip tales, The Travel Woes. It all started when my brother said “I think I need you out here to help.” We had to remove all of my Mom’s stuff out of her old apartment by the end of May. So it needed to either fit in her new apartment, or get stored at my brother’s place.
So I immediately started looking for airfares in the time frame we had agreed upon. But what I didn’t take into account was that I was going to be flying in the lead-up to the Memorial Day weekend. (Ruh roh!) I couldn’t figure out why airfares were suddenly costing much more than they had back in April. (facepalm)
So I am sitting at my departure airport, waiting for my flight out. The weather forecast that day was kinda sketchy, so I am wondering about possibly flight delays. And while I am thinking about that, I hear a fussy baby in the terminal by the gate. Later on, there is an extremely upset Chihuahua with what sounds like colic going nuts in the vicinity.
Smart aleck that I am, I mentally thought to myself, “Well that’s the first square checked off on my Flight Mishap Bingo card.” OH, little did I know what was to come….
Pushed back from the gate about 10 minutes late. Not unusual for a flight. We’re sitting on the runway, waiting for clearance to take off, when the pilot comes on the intercom. Tower has noted some rough weather out to the west. We’re gonna sit for a bit. After a while, the flight attendants come thru the cabin and offer water to all the passengers. You *know* it’s going to be longer than “a bit” when that happens.
That bit turned into 2 hours. Strong winds came thru, rocking the airplane as we sat on the runway. Then curtains and curtains of rain. And some truly impressive thunder and lightning.
Meanwhile, I am texting my brother updates. He tells me that my flight has a Ground Hold. He’s been tracking my flight. It’ll be a long night for both of us.
After the weather passes, and the backed up planes depart, I am on my way. Flight is a little bumpy, and I have a spectacular light show that covers at least 2 states before final approach and landing.
At baggage claim, I am patiently waiting for my checked bag to show up when all of a sudden all sorts of alarms go off and the conveyor belt shuts down. Somebody’s luggage has jammed up the works. So a couple of guys show up, hop on the luggage carousel, and get things moving again.
At least my brother picking me up from the airport is uneventful.
But on the way to my brother’s house, we both see a crapton of red and blue lights flashing as we crest the top of a rise on one of the highways. It’s the aftermath of a traffic accident. Someone had gone over the side of the road and into the ditch. A police officer was out there in reflective vest with a strobe flashlight, slowing down and directing traffic.
I ended up not getting to bed until 2am local time, which was indeed a LONG day.
Lots of busy followed after that, with my brother and me trying to get stuff done that I had come out to help with. Things very quickly became a blur.
Finally, the biggest “Whoops” of the whole trip was my return home. I went to the airport on the wrong day! That tells you all how tired I was. I tried to use the check in kiosks but got an Error Message twice. So I went up to the airline counter for human assistance. That’s when the lady behind the counter told me that my flight was for the following day. I said an expletive behind my mask, and thanked her. Then I went outside the terminal to call my brother.
The first words out of my mouth were “I’m a bleeping idiot. My flight isn’t until tomorrow.” Fortunately, he had not driven very far. In my fatigue, I failed to notice that I had used very strong language in front of 2 or 3 little girls. Oh well. They’re gonna hear that stuff sooner or later.
We went back to my brother’s house, and I slept until noon.
So for anyone playing the home game of “Flight Mishaps Bingo”, the squares that were filled in on my card were Fussy Baby, Upset Dog in Terminal, Weather Delay, Ground Hold/Stop, Jammed Up Baggage Carousel, Accident on Way to/from Airport, and Going to Airport on Wrong Day.
At one point, I had to laugh at the stupidity of it all.
SOTD = back in AG Mandragore. I did the sensible thing and ordered a decant of this from one of the usual suspects online.
That sounds like one of the recurring nightmares that I have…I still have them, even now when I haven’t travelled in a year and a half (very unusual for me). At least you didn’t have the other part of my airport nightmares, which is where I have to get to the gate because I’m late and I’m running as fast as I can, but I’m going just…so…slowly…and I can’t speed up. 😀
Hopefully I won’t have to go near an airport for a while now. Famous last words, right?
Wow, what a stressful trip. Glad it’s over!
Don’t know if you saw Part 1 about this. I posted more in last Tuesday’s SOTD thread. Read if you dare…
D:
Oh my gosh Jalapeño!! I guess at least you went to the airport a day early instead of a day late…..yeah, you won Flight Mishaps bingo without a doubt!
I count myself lucky that I didn’t fill in the “Disturbed Passenger” square! Or “Flight Diverted”! Ack!
Oh my goodness, are you sure you’ve never travelled with me? My hubby and I seem to have the WORST luck when travelling.
Although, one of the last trips we took, we ended up being behind a couple who were also checking in for a flight. Turns out their flight was the day before! OMG! The airline checked us in and then took the late folks and had to re-do all their paperwork since it would have taken so much time.
At the end of that week, I had truly lost track of the days. Having Memorial Day plopped in the midst of things did not help.
Dang jalapeno, by the time you got to the wrong day, you were entitled to a little strong language!
Dropping the F-bomb in front of kindergarteners wasn’t exactly on my bucket list, TBH.
You’ve won the travel lottery. If you can’t cry, laughter is the next best thing.
Not sure why crying wasn’t an option. I guess maybe it would have taken too much energy to do so?
Good lord! I had to laugh over the colicky chihuahua, but my heart goes out to you!
Quite the adventure, wasn’t it?
Knock on wood, nobody else is going to beat that for a nightmare travel story this year.
I can see why you waited so long to tell it!
The situation was so over the top that I found it amusing. Then again, I’ve had more than a few moments of very dark humor in the past 3 years.
Ugh! Jalapeno – this is like your own personal Odyssey. Once the case count numbers a down a bit more, I’m hoping some of us from NJ can meet up, and when we do, the first round is on me to toast your perseverance on this terrible trip.
I’m in Frau Tonis Linde Berlin. Absolutely no points for the bottle. Rainy here, but not as cool as you might think. Typical June…cool and very changeable. Just trying to feel early summer today, and wishing we had more linden trees around here.
I haven’t been on much lately — life has been in upheaval mode with renovations (no end in sight). Plus the end of the school year is approaching and I’m realizing that next year my kid has to take standardized tests to apply to high school (sigh) and needs tutoring on how to take standardized tests (double sigh). Plus cancelling the (extremely optimistic) ferry reservations I made early this year, assuming we could travel across the country (ha). Trying to find something in-province to replace it with. Feeling very claustrophobic, especially as we’ve been living in two rooms of our house and cooking in the bedroom. And I know we have a large province, but the interesting parts we haven’t yet visited are all closed (with good reason) to non-essential travel for the foreseeable future.
But I have found surf lessons for my kid during our second COVID trip out to the Pacific, so that’ll be something new, I guess. 😀
For an inexplicable reason, I keep thinking that the situation up north is pretty similar to the U.S.! I suppose the states have more of a say in these here parts.
That does sound like a lot!! Cooking in the bedroom, wow, hope that does not last too much longer.
Had a couple of unsatisfying samples earlier but am now in the always lovely White Shoulders
Robin is making me want to spend that small fortune to have Candide mixed. It’s a “retired” fragrance on their offerings…. Anyone else adore it ???
Honestly, I think I am its fan club. I don’t remember anyone else really mentioning it, and she does have other fragrances that I see mentioned here!
