Happy Hump Day and happy Cinco de Mayo! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in John Varvatos Artisan.
Reminder: 5/7 will be "I really shouldn't have"...wear a fragrance you shouldn't have bought, you shouldn't wear, or shouldn't ? (This project was suggested by Katrina, and I can't find the original comment so I hope I have captured her meaning.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Cloudy, rainy, cool day! I can barely keep my eyes open despite being on my third cup of coffee. I have a crazy, busy day in front of me, so I hope the caffeine kicks in soon! ☕☕☕
Wearing Aedes de Venustas Copal Azur, inspired by Hajusuuri yesterday. It had been a while since I wore and today is working perfectly for me. Love it! ?
Happy Wednesday! ?
Joining you with a cup of espresso! I put a few drops of orange blossom in it.
Coffee twins!☕ So good you put orange blossom in it! I added a dash of turmeric to mine. Delish!
I think I have cardamom somewhere, I may try that at some point. We have an Arabic restaurant in Foster City we love to visit, their coffee is soooo good!
I haven’t had Arabic coffee in a long time. Our favorite Persian restaurant has the Special of the House coffee with cardamom, saffron, rose water and a dash of pistachio powder that is amazing. I have tried to make it at home, but it doesn’t taste the same. Wonder what I am missing.
Am about to make my second espresso and am definitely going to add a little cardamom. I’ve never tried it, but it sounds good and warming. Thanks for the idea!
Cardamom is one of my favorite spices for coffee. I hope you enjoy it!
It’s one of mine also. A dear friend’s husband (he was Bedouin) made coffee for me, I was bouncing off the walls! It was delicious, but wow, SO strong!
That’s the coffee that I need in days like today, but usually when I have something like that, then I crash badly. But at least it keeps me on the move while I need it.
I adore cardamom. Why has it never occurred to me to add to coffee? Definitely trying tomorrow…
Please, let us know if you like it!
Cardamom in my coffee, also in my oatmeal (along with other spices, honey and apples). Excellent way to start the day.
You smell amazing!
Thank you! ?
You smell great and I have you to thank for adding cardamom to my coffee – everyday!
I am so glad you are enjoying cardamom in your coffee. It is a very tasty option!
I could get a serious caffeine buzz just by reading about your coffee! ?☕
Lol!
Hope you made it through your day and are getting good rest, friend!
Thank you, KellyC! Resting now!
Went commando early morning because I had to get X-rays (nothing serious, just scoping out the innards), but now I’m in 2002-vintage Lacoste Pour Homme, which reads as a men’s fragrance despite not smelling anything like any other men’s fragrance I know of — plums and spices with a certain candied sweetness, lots of soft polished wood, not a sharp edge to be found, very elegant.
Hope all went well with the X-rays!
That fragrance sounds wonderful; very appealing to me on a dreary, dull day.
Fingers crossed for good X-ray results!
Best wishes for good health.
Beat wishes for great x-ray results.
Morning all, my SOTD is Eau de Camille by AG for my ERCP procedure at UCSF. I go in at 11, I may add a light spritz of Ofresia by Diptyque. We’re not supposed to wear fragrance but I think they are discreet enough.
I made home made coconut macaroons, toffee oatmeal sugar cookies and Almond Biscotti (all gluten-free) for my nurses, I hope they like them!
I’m a little tender from yesterday’s cardio (55 minutes!), but I slept like a baby last night, so while I love lifting weights, cardio may be the key to help with sleepless nights.
Currently reading The Paris Library, recommended by my aunt. Very enjoyable so far!
Everyone have a lovely week, hopefully I can check in in a few days!
Ahem. Can you point us in the direction of the toffee-oatmeal cookie recipe?
Good luck with the procedure! We will be here when you get back!
Sure! It’s gluten free recipe but it’s just as good as a regular made with flour cookie.
PM me at ldetrich in the land of yodeling dawt com and I’m happy to send it to you.
Good luck with the procedure, SmokeyToes! I am sure the nurses will love the goodies! Coconut macaroons! Love them! ?
Let me know if you want my recipe.
My email is ldetrich in the land of yodeling dawt com.
Absolutely! Thank you! Emailing you in a while.
Good luck w/ your procedure, SmokeyToes. The cookies all sound delicious.
Best wishes for your hospital stay, cookies sound delicious.
The nurses must love you!!
Hope everything goes swimmingly.
Best of luck with your procedure!
Good luck. You are such a sweet patient!
You are so sweet to bake for your nurses. I’m sure they appreciate it. I hope your procedure goes smoothly and quickly!
I’m back at work, wearing CdG Kyoto.
Kyoto is lovely and you smell wonderful.
You smell great! Kyoto became a favorite of mine recently (meaning, yesterday
)
This should help even with a big workload
I can’t seem to get myself into a routine to comment regularly. Anyway, I’m now on day 125 of my 365 different perfumes project. So far it has been fairly effortless – only resorted to using random.org for a couple of days of samples. Yesterday I wore Twilly which stayed with me well into bedtime and was a little much. Today I’m pulling a sample of Teo Cabanel Lace Garden because I was craving a white floral and recall enjoying this one when I tried it before. I find that mid-week I poke around a little more so I can save perfumes for my sub-project days – Favorite Friday, Sample Sunday, Mini Monday. Have a photography gig scheduled tonight, but the ongoing rain has been cancelling a lot of games.
What fun! Are you keeping track of what you wore?
I’m using my Instagram (same username) to track my daily choices – and also upgrading my spreadsheet. I did a little prep by adding a column for the season I usually wear each perfume, which has helped with the daily choice (spreadsheet, which includes even the tiniest sample, runs to 815 lines…)
Wow, that’s excellent.
Having my current usual brekkie – homemade English muffin, toasted and buttered with a boiled egg on top, and a small bowl of cottage cheese with strawberries and pumpkin seeds – and enjoying my first coffee of the day, a double Americano with a touch of coffee cream.
Currently wearing the traces of yesterday’s Hyrax, but post-shower will tink my sample of JHAG Mad Madame.
This and EldO Eau de Protection which I also sampled recently apparently both have a metallic rose oxide note which I must love, as both of them really pleased me, although it appears to be quite divisive in reviews.
I had half of your breakfast yesterday–cottage cheese with strawberries and a sprinkle of granola….excellent.
..wait, homemade English muffin? That’s impressive, are they hard to make?
Not at all – although I need to preface that by saying I use a sourdough starter. Mr. Teebear makes them using conventional yeast and has a much harder time getting a nice open crumb that route.
If you’ve got a starter or are interested in getting one, the recipe linked below is what I follow and it’s always worked great.
My starter lives in the fridge and I only feed it once a week, almost invariably to make English muffins or waffles ? I can make bread too but just love English muffins so much more:
https://littlespoonfarm.com/sourdough-english-muffins-recipe/
Thank you so much!
I’m in Dusita Moonlight in Chiangmai.
In the meantime I completely don’t know what to do with CP this week…
I have heard good things about Dusita. Are the scents blind-buy safe and how are they like in general because I don’t have access to her scents where I live..
Dusitas are well done, but I’d suggest sampling first. A perfume pal recently passed along a sample of Moonlight in Chiangmai, and it turned out to smell like cigarettes on me -! Not what I expected, or wanted.
Cigarettes! Yikes! Okay, looks like I should approach with caution.
I agree with AnnieA. Dusita actually has a great sample set. Also, if you order from LuckyScent, dubbed vs sprayed are quite similar.
You’re such a good enabler, honey!
Same here! I love the idea of the CP, but it turns out I don’t have too many regrets.
Maybe you could go with I shouldn’t have just bought this decant; therefore, I should upgrade to a FB immediately!
I like how you think.
Morning. SOTD is Twilly.
Currently working on a report due in the end of the week. I want a break! Sipping on some genmaicha (green tea with toasted rice).
I also don’t know what to do for this week’s CP. Hmmm.
Hope that report goes faster than you’re expecting!
I don’t know what to do either. I shouldn’t have bought any of them
Yesterday’s Lady Vengeance was a bust after a very promising beginning. Spending the morning in Tobacco Vanille and thinking of Theorema or Feminite du Bois after my shower. Finished a candle last night and started a Vanilla Bean Noel today.
Lady Vengeance is a great perfume name, but from what I’ve heard it’s the best thing about it…?
It’s a fierce sounding name and the first 5 minutes, the rose kicks butt. When the other notes kick in, it just falls apart.
I actually quite like Lady Vengeance, but it is somewhat raspy. I have to be in the mood for it.
I find it a rather tame rose, not fierce or vengeful at all.
Lady Vengeance also went southward on me after 5 min! Something about the mid and base notes just didn’t click.
I’m wearing four spritzes of Osmanthe Yunnan today, for its sheer, bright cheerfulness. I’ve recently begun applying scents that don’t have a lot of longevity to my clothes in addition to skin, to see if this helps keep the scent floating around me. Sadly, I have forgotten hours after application to check and see if this has worked well or not. Sigh.
It usually works for me, but Osmanthe Yunnan is particularly challenging
May 2021’s Home & Antiques has an article called “Bottles of Desire”, with ravishing pictures of perfume bottles.
Today am wearing Francesca Bianchi Under My Skin. It’s the first decant in a long time tempting me to buy a bottle.
What fun! They’re all vintage, I take it?
Yes, believe so. Did you know that there was a Gone With the Wind perfume set, and that it now costs a packet?
I remember Scarlett gargling with Florida water after boozing it up on brandy. What an awful character she was. Can’t even call her an anti hero, she was so unpleasant.
I did not know, but I can believe it!
Earlier I sprayed on Chanel No. 19 Poudre lightly on one wrist. I will have to add something else soon as this is very close to my skin now.
Like a few others, I’m not sure what to do with this CP.
It will be interesting to see what people come up with…it’s a shame I can’t find Katrina’s original comment.
I’m in PdE Cuir Ottoman today. I’ve almost purchased a bottle of this a few times now, but something always holds me back. A touch too leathery in the opening and a touch too sweet later on? I can see why so many people love it, though!
I’m in the love it camp
I am wearing L’Artisan La Chasse aux Papillons and drinking my second cup of Gunpowder Green tea.
Love both, Your perfume and Your choice of tea.
This morning when I was busy with some appointments I just spritzed on some Teazzurra. Now showered again (it is really hot where I live) I am commando until I decide on what to wear… While riding a bike this morning I was inhaling the island air, we are surrounded by the ocean here and I can tell You guys, Squid perfume reminds me of this salty, amber-gris like smell of an island I live on… Love it!!
Enjoy your beautiful island.
Every, single day!!
That sounds amazing!
Surely… I found a perfect perfume: it is just not aquatic yet smells like the ocean. And as far as where I live I see the ocean every day just riding my bike anywhere but oh it is getting hotter by the day!!
Started the day with a sample of Tokyo Bloom, and Hey Presto! I don’t smell it. I will probably dump the whole thing on my arm to see what happens.
Tried out Mix:Bar Tangerine Squeeze on a Target run. Not bad!
Tea: Harney & Sons White Vanilla Grapefruit
The tangerine squeeze sounds nice, and wow, $8.99 for the 150 ml body mist is not bad.
I liked Tangerine Squeeze! Wish it lasted longer, though. Still, I might spring for the body mist.
I have a little idea for a poll. Whether it is liked by anyone or ever used on the blog it’s ok. I am just giving some food for thought!! So here it goes:
Wear and/or talk about a perfume that reminded You of something totally else than listen in it’s notes. My example would be: KL Sun Moon Stars – discontinued and hard to find these days – always reminded me of, or even smelled exactly like cola and cheesecake (the kind people eat in Europe – with added raisins and orange peel).
Listed* in it’s notes – sorry for my typo
Added to list, thanks!
Oh wow, no thank You!!
Sounds like I missed a lot of excitement yesterday. Especially with Oakland Fresca’s duck!
I’m in the midst of a very busy work week, so I’m procrastinating while finishing my breakfast of steel-cut oats. I haven’t had this in ages, but I was up early and had enough time to make it this morning.
I’ve been very indecisive picking a scent today, so I have not spritzed anything on yet. Yesterday I wore No 5 Eau Premiere. I might join PL67 in being inspired by Hajusuuri to wear Copal Azur, love that one so much!
Scent twins, then! I adore Copal Azur! Such a beautiful scent! ❤
Yes, yes do it!
I’m in D.S. & Durga Amber Kiso today to compare it to yesterday’s Kyoto. This one is richer and heavier, more resinous than the Kyoto. I’m wondering if it is the leather in AK that causes such a contrast with Kyoto, because otherwise the two have many overlapping key notes and are apparently interpreting similar experiences. The only other D.S. Durga I’ve tried is Mississippi Medicine, thanks to a generous NSTer, and I can see the same fingerprints on both.
They definitely have a style.
Café Tuberosa today, from a decant. This was great for this crazy weather, we got sun, rain and also a bit of very wet snow today. I ordered new glasses and frames today, so this was my holiday budget for my staycation.
Hope you are enjoying the staycation, despite crazy weather and having to blow your budget on glasses?
Wow, that’s a lot of weather for one day! I’m glad you were at home and didn’t have to commute.
A Rose For Beacon Free–really, I shouldn’t have gone so long without wearing this one
That’s a great “shouldn’t”!
I am sampling two from Parfums de Marly today…Delina and Meliora. For some reason I never got around to sampling this line. Delina is a lovely fruity rose…definitely more interesting w/ more oomph than Meliora which is kind of a green, musky rose. Very curious to try Delina Exclusif now too…I ordered the sample set directly from the house but sadly they didn’t include that one.
My sister is in surgery right now and my brother-in-law is getting text updates and everything is going well. Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday.
Also had a PT appointment this morning and he was not too concerned w/ my soreness, said there will be ups and downs and added some new exercises to the mix.
As I was waiting for my appointment, the Libby app notified me that The Places That Scare You, also by Pema Chodron, is ready for me to borrow…what timing
…the saga continues! I forget if I have read this one before but more will be revealed.
My sister is out of surgery and doc said no cancer found in tumor…just waiting for a room for her…she will be in hospital a few days for recovery.?
Great news, She-ra! So happy for your sister! Wishing her a speedy recovery!
She-ra, that is fantastic news! I’m sure you must be so relieved. Really glad to hear this.
Such a relief for your sister, BIL and you, hope her convalescence will be easy.
She-ra – thank you for sharing this wonderful news. I’m so happy for you and your family. What a huge relief for you all!
Great news!
Hooray! I hope her recovery goes well.
That’s wonderful – I’m so happy for both of you!
That is such great news!
Wonderful news, you must be breathing much more freely now!
Halleluja!
HOORAY!
w00t w00t w00t w00t! Wonderful news about your sister!
Wow, fantastic.
Great news She-ra!
Woo hoo!!!!! I’m so thrilled. That’s amazing good news.
That’s fantastic news about your sister!!! Yay!
Glad to hear your sister is doing well!
Sotds today are Le Parfum de Therese on one wrist and Rochas Femme on the other. I’m a perfume powerhouse in 2 of Roudnitska’s finest. I can definitely smell the resemblance.
One regret perfume is Verveine. I was on a Celine Ellena kick and this one is fine, just not for me.
You are indeed a powerhouse!!
Korres saffron Iris again, with a puff of thousand wishes to change it up. So far the thousand wishes is winning. It’s surprisingly strong for just a body spray.
Which one smells better?
It made them both bad. But I made some baby powder with Vanira Morea. You put about thirty sprays on a few cotton balls, soak it in powder for about a week in some Tupperware. It’s like that fantastic shower to shower vanilla powder they discontinued. You can use the perfume you like. A good way to use perfumes up.
Well, THAT is a clever idea — thanks!
Too bad it ruined them both!
Like the talc idea though.
It’s Cristalle EDT for me today. Bright sunshine and warm temperatures, Mr. G (unaccountably) pampering me this morning with coffee in bed … what’s not to love? Heading out into the yard for yet more weed-pulling, and to clean the bird droppings off the patio table so we can have cocktail hour out there later on. ? ?
Yay for coffee in bed, yay for cocktail hour on the patio.
I’m wearing Azemour this morning.
You smell great foxbins!
I’m in several sprays of Chanel No.5 L’Eau. How am I participating in the cp, you ask? Why, because I can’t think of anyone who “shouldn’t “ have a cute little 35ml bottle of this in their stash. ?
Well, the plumbing issue was solved yesterday. A very slow leak was found in addition to doing the known repair, which was nicely feeding a giant ant bed in the space under the tub. Aaack! But it’s all fixed now and I’m thinking I’ll call running water my Mother’s Day present. That, and the dehumidifier rumbling away….we’ll call that my new white noise machine! It really did help me sleep last night. ?
You smell pretty, glad you have running water.
Me too, Aurora!
Glad the leak was fixed and the ants evicted!
Yeah, the ants were a shock. Not expecting to find houseguests.
Yech! on the giant any colony. Good riddance!
ARGH! That should be “ant” colony. You probably don’t want a giant any colony either!
Exactly! Don’t want giant anythings under the tub. ?
I have that tiny No. 5 L’Eau! It’s so darn cute.
But leaks and ants… ?. So glad it’s been taken care of!
Running water, are we ever so grateful….
We had a lot of bottled water on hand, but I was ever so happy it was fixed in one day.
You got a two-fer! Glad you’re back to running water and good sleep!
Me too! Washed the linens today, so I’ll sleep extra good tonight. ? ? ?
Started the day in Yardley Iris, but this evening I am in Boucheron Jaipur, very fruity.
What a beautiful day here today! Sun is shining, windows open, birds chirping, and I have the day off. Still pre-shower and trying Tom Ford F-ing Fabulous from the recent swap. Whoa! It’s certainly different. I’d call it an avant-garde leather, very dark and aggressive.
Has anyone here successfully grown strawberries indoors? I bought a strawberry kit a few weeks ago on a whim that came with a container, seeds, dirt, etc., and I have a few tiny sprouts coming up now. Very exciting!! I love strawberries when they’re good, and supermarket ones often aren’t. I put the container outside for the moment to get some more sun.
I’ve only grown herbs indoors, so I can’t really help you re: strawberries. It would be really awesome if it works out for you! ?
I’m sure there’s information online, I just haven’t checked yet!
I always wonder if the strawberries I’ve spent my whole life eating don’t even taste like real strawberries should. Good luck with those little sprouts, and keep us posted!
Thanks! I will!
I received the cutest strawberry growing kit about a month ago and I gotta get to it yet!! Because I know once I plant the seeds the procrastinating game will be over…
Vintage Diorissimo. Had to have a reminder that it is spring somewhere, because it definitely isn’t where I live. The report said there is a chance of a few flakes of snow, though I haven’t seen any.
Living in a place where sum never stops shining i find myself quite often longing for the snow…
I’m wearing Child Extrait de Perfume from the recent Sniffa event that I had to miss. Yesterday I tried the regular version. I had to laugh that it said it was beautiful and “understated”–um, don’t think so! This version is exceptionally pretty and I just sprayed more on to enhance my experience. It’s got a very pure lilac note that is so beautiful.
Things have been bonkers here at casa Calypso (happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone!). I’m having terrible shoulder pain and it’s almost paralyzed, but saw my doctor and he did X-rays and nothing shows, so he thinks it is a side effect of the Levaquin I was on recently for that bad cat scratch on my ankle. Little did I Know that this drug can produce problems in joints and tendons. It’s awful. Meanwhile Mom was in the hospital and is now back in her place but will be moved to Memory Care on Friday. I have to go there tomorrow to pack up stuff of hers that she won’t need or that won’t fit in her new place. I believe this is for the best but she’s having ongoing problems of being combative, which is just not like my sweet polite little Mom at all. They’re referring her to a psychiatrist and I’m anxious to find out what he says or recommends. Whew.
I am so sorry about your mom. My mother was moved to Memory Care after she did not recognize my brother and tried to stab him with a kitchen knife. He was living with her at the time and we recognized that we couldn’t manage her at home.
Oh gosh, I’m so sorry that happened. Your poor brother. Dementia is a horrible disease (from various causes) and when we are already mourning a person’s losses, this kind of thing just makes it so much harder. It’s also the sort of occurrence people don’t much talk about and I feel it may be helpful to bring it more out in the open.
Calypso and foxbins, I’m sending you both hugs. My mum has dementia, and has been in a small, private facility for the past several years. We are very lucky. She is not experiencing fear nor exhibiting any aggression, for which I am incredibly thankful.
Thank you so much for the hugs. I’m sorry that you’re also coping with this issue. I believe my mom will get settled in more soon, but others really do have very difficult journeys.
Mom settled in well. She had been missing my father terribly after he died and grief probably hastened her dementia. But she decided that one of the men at the facility was my dad, and with him around became much calmer. We talked to his family and they didn’t see the harm in two old people sitting next to each other all day and eating dinner together.
Oh your poor shoulder!
Sorry that your mom is having some personality issues right now, I know that that can be hard when caring for your aging parents/relatives.
Hopefully it’s just a lot of change all at once throwing her off, and she’ll feel more settled and herself in Memory Care where they’re specialized in helping.
Thank you.
Calypso I am so sorry. Hugs for you and your mom.
I appreciate that, thanks!
Whew for sure that’s a lot to deal with, please do take good care of yourself. Hope Mom is feeling calmer soon.
And as always I say “thank you” for your kitty pics, they warm my cold little heart every day.
Sorry about your shoulder issue. I hope it’s better!
Also, I hope your mom’s new living situation come Friday will be of help. There is something called hospital-induced delirium which could be brought on by new medication. And things do get worse as the day goes on and is sometimes described as sundowning. The psych consult can hopefully get to the bottom of things.
I’m excited to hear your review of the Child Extrait – I love original Child and have been curious about it .
I hope your shoulder feels better soon – what a terrible side effect from medication!
This may sound odd, but is there any chance your mom is suffering from an UTI? My mother-in-law had dementia and became extremely combative twice. Each time, it turned out she had had an UTI. It may have been coincidental, but …???
My biggest hugs to you. What a lot to deal with.
sistine, that doesn’t sound odd to me. We’re all large, complex, interrelated systems. And, not meaning to be flip or insensitive, but the first thing I thought when I read your post was, “Well, a UTI is enough to make anybody combative.” Ba-dum-bump.
I’ve got a sample of the Child Extrait from the same Sniffa event, which you are welcome to have. Give me a holla at lisadarty in the land of the hawt mayl, if you want it.
Yes, you’re quite right, the hospital did find that and treated her for it with IV antibiotics. And I do know that it’s a constant risk for older people with dementia. Thank you.
Thanks! Just sent you an email.
I’m sorry you’re going through this, Calypso. I’ll add to what sistine and Lisa D mentioned, your mom might have a UTI. My mother had one, and was acting out more than usual. I don’t recall who ordered the test, but that’s exactly what it was. They gave her meds in applesauce; worked like a charm.
I hope your shoulder feels better soon!
Yes, that’s right, she did have that. They now plan to put her on some sort of long-term maintenance medication for it since she’s had the problem frequently.
It’s a rather squishy Cinco de Mayo where I am at.
Quick update for today: No EEG for my Mom after all. She’s still doing all right, albeit physically weak. Not exhibiting any symptoms that would be cause for concern. The doctor is thinking possibly she had a TIA. She’s still on a waitlist for a spot in a rehab/PT/OT facility.
SOTD = back in Tilting At Windmills Cologne. My sample is getting low…
That’s good news! Hope she will find a slot soon.
Thanks Calypso. Right now my brother and I are in watch and wait mode.
fantastic frag name
happy to read Mom is doing all right,
hugs to you both!
Thank you tiffanie! It makes me smile whenever I read the label.
Hugs are most definitely appreciated!
Thunking seems to be in the air ?.
I’m glad your mom seems ok!
Thanks!
Not quite a thunk today. It may have to wait if the forecasted cooler weather shows up. There’s probably more than one wearing left in the sample, too.
I’m glad tour mom is holding steady. Big hugs to you and your family.
Thank you sistine! Right now it’s one day at a time.
SotD = L’artisan L’eau de Caporal
and I put the bottle on my desk so I was able to top up all day. I’ve said it before, this one smells like Irish Spring soap but better, charmingly green and a bit lively.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday!
Not sure I’ve ever heard of this one before today.
maybe it’s new to you because I typo’d the name –
it should be L’eau DU Caporal – oops!
Hey tiffanie! How did you come across this perfume?
More than a few years ago I googled “citrus aromatic cologne” and I found L’eau du Caporal. At that time it was not expensive even from the discounters. I love colognes, and the notes sounded good. It was a blind buy that worked well. Let me know if you’d like a decant, and I’ll send one off to ya!
SOTD = Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque (2) and Amouage Lyric (6)
So I was not brave enough to wear 8 sprays of a clearly evaporated Cuir Mauresque but still liquid enough to spray so did 2 sprays + 6 of Amouage Lyric. Success! leathery, rosy, violetty!

In other news, one of my colleagues in India has 3 cousins who tested positive for COVID and 2 of them need oxygen (I did not ask if they have) and the 3rd one is on blood thinner. These are NOT good. My colleague is helping her aunt because she is alone (other than for her sons) and she couldn’t handle the medical stuff. Oy! Please pray for her and her family.
I am moving right along with my tax returns. I won’t be done today but I made great progress yesterday and will do some more today.
Your poor colleague! She must be frantic with worry.
Yeah, it is really tough. I knew something was not right when she did not respond to an instant message and then responded to it to say give her time ‘til this weekend. She eventually mentioned about her family woes.
Have made a donation to the Humanitarian Coalition…
Thank you, AnnieA. Our company donated $$millions and is also running a matching gift program.
Oh, that’s so rough. They are in my prayers.
Thanks, sistine!
Sending my prayers for the family.
Thanks, lillyjo.
Dropping in to say hello; will try to read comments. Very busy week! SotD EL Beautiful Belle Love, a Plato’s Closet find. I got a compliment from a co-worker on our lunchtime walk: “you smell amazing!” This friend likes and wears perfume, so that was so gratifying. I noticed the almond-vanilla-amber, and of course those are crowd-pleasers. Hope your weather is a fabulous as mine today….
It rained on and off all day today. Glad you had good weather and also got a perfume compliment!
Wearing Escentric 2 today and smelling great. This is going to be a long month, but at least I’ll smell good!
I bought some self-tanner today because I’m so pale I could be mistaken for a cave fish without eyes. But with my own and my family’s history of skin cancer, there’s no way I’m getting a real tan. The last time I used self-tanner was in 1990. Wish me luck!
Good luck! Report back with results. Every summer I want to try self tanning but never do.
Hope that your new self tanner isn’t a smelly one!
Good luck with the self-tanner!
Thunking my sample of SI Passione today. I’m renaming it SI PassiGONE.
I normally do not care about longevity, but I honestly can not smell it after ten minutes. I’m going to assume it’s just me.
We had some shoplifters come in and grab a bunch of stuff and run out. They took off in their car and hit another car in the parking lot. They just kept fleeing. The person who was hit tried to chase them. There was no license plate so nothing could really be done.
That’s an eventful day, and not the good kind of eventful. What a bummer.
Your perfume renaming is funny. Even if it’s only you mentioning it, it’s not due to a broken nose. CdG Red Carnation had very poor longevity on me and when I mentioned this to the brick & mortar Twisted Lily, the SA looked incredulous…and then I just ignored her afterwards.
As to the shoplifters, all I can say is karma will get them.
I have tested my sample of the Bee and I have to report it really does smell like a “buzzy” perfume with honey, beeswax and light florals. It’s cute because The Bee is like a very busy (or buzzy) perfume, it changes constantly but all around it’s core note: the royal jelly. About an hour in, lasting for a mere 10 minutes it smelled almost identical to a long discontinued MAC Naked Honey. It had that super similar yellow-floral note. But then that impression vanished in place of more waxy creaminess. It is actually a romantic smell… Just so much love for the busy bees!!
You are making me REALLY want to try Bee!
Yes, it is it definitely worth trying, for sure.
Started the day by layering two of the Zara Emotions fragrances by Jo Malone, the ended in Chamade EDT. I think I smelled quite nice, thank you!
Aroma M Vanilla Hinoki yesterday and Arielle Shoshana Sunday today. Both from samples. Both total winners in my book!
