The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 19 February 2021 7 Comments

Lanvin's latest scratch-and-sniff clothing: a t-shirt ($450) and sweatshirt ($590), both in 100% cotton and featuring a visual of an old Cosmétiques Lanvin advert. "The special print gives off a soft floral scent (violet) when rubbed. It can last up to 15 cold hand washes." At Lanvin.

The model looks very serious. I think she is realizing that she just spent $400+ or $500+ on a hand wash only t-shirt or sweatshirt that will lose its fragrance after 15 washings. And isn’t really that cute to begin with.

I was also thinking she looks very serious for someone wearing a picture of a lipstick! If her top said ‘Save The Planet’ it would look less incongruous with her expression.

Or I dunno just spray some perfume onto your T-shirt?

I just don’t get scratch-and-sniff clothing. It’s consumerism for its own sake.

My thought entirely! I get to change up the scent, too — magic!

At these prices it is consumerism for its own sake anyway. You might as well get some scent 😉
