Bvlgari Allegra collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 15 January 2021 27 Comments

Bvlgari has launched the Allegra collection, with five fragrances "expressing colorful and intense Italian emotions" (Dolce Estasi, Fantasia Veneta, Fiori d'Amore, Riva Solare and Rock’n’Rome) and five "magnifying" essences for layering (Bergamot, Musk, Patchouli, Rose and Vanilla).

Dolce Estasi ~ powdery floral inspired by Italian pastries, with citrus, heliotrope and musk. “It is the celebration of sweetness, of the Italian family cocoon.” Jacques Cavallier

Fantasia Veneta ~ fruity chypre with peach, vanilla and patchouli. “It is the height of Italian sophistication in a perfume.” Jacques Cavallier

Fiori d'Amore ~ floral with rose and raspberry. “It is a red rose - fresh, velvety, fruity.” Jacques Cavallier

Riva Solare ~ citrus floral with bergamot, mandarin, neroli, osmanthus and musk. “Riva Solare is the endless Italian holiday.” Jacques Cavallier

Rock’n’Rome ~ floriental with osmanthus, apricot and benzoin. “Like the emotion of a rendezvous in Rome.” Jacques Cavallier

Bvlgari Dolce Estasi, Fantasia Veneta, Fiori d'Amore, Riva Solare and Rock’n’Rome are available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Magnifying Bergamot, Musk, Patchouli, Rose and Vanilla are available in 40 ml "Essence".

    1) 6 x 10 mL coffret would be nice

    2) the top cover and bottle (not the base) reminds me of a rounder, more balanced Jul et Mad bottle

    3) where’s the green? Caps and bases don’t count ?

I really liked the bottles until I saw the base. That sweet shape doesn’t work so well?

The green is probably in the next batch.

They also recall the Le Gemme bottles and the earlier Opera Prima…Bvglari has been playing with these shapes for awhile.

Of course it is when you’re describing how a perfume makes you feel ?

I consider both pastry and cheese to be emotions.

I am loving all these smart-arsed answers to your question! ? it’s what I come to the comments section to see – perfumer-lovers’ sarcasm and wit and self-deprecation! ?

I’m a sucker for multi-colored glass objects, but those bases! I’ve already got a problem with accidentally knocking over the perfume bottles in my cabinet.

Those bottle colors remind me of Jolly Rancher candies. (Anyone else remember those?)

Which begs H.’s question: where is the Sour Apple? :)

(And yes, I turned my tongue a bilious green many a time with those when I was a kid!)

I do like the bright colors, but I join others here in thinking I would like the bottles better without those bases. A bit too much of a good thing … I’m intrigued by the “essences”, though. They remind me of the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb layering oils that Sephora used to sell but I never bought.
