A Lab On Fire A Blvd. Called Sunset & Freckled and Beautiful ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 24 August 2020 10 Comments

Niche line A Lab On Fire will launch two new fragrances, A Blvd. Called Sunset and Freckled and Beautiful, in September.

A Blvd. Called Sunset ~ A woody leather developed by perfumer Maurice Roucel. "When the forces of nature known as the Santa Ana’s whip down the boulevard, the neon burns a little hotter and everyone walks a bit crooked. These winds are the perfect excuse for wildness. I joyride the strip all the way to sea, radio blasting, diving into the sunset where Sunset kisses the Pacific. Or maybe I’ll stay in the city, hitting the sun-baked concrete in search of my next big break in this city of angels, fallen or otherwise. // Inspiration The Doors, Ed Ruscha"  With bergamot, almond, violet, jasmine, leather accord, sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean.

Freckled and Beautiful ~ A floriental developed by perfumer David Apel. "Sweetness, sweat on upper lip, and freedom. Sneaking time to ourselves—time for sunshine, time for grass underfoot, sand between toes, hair blown back as our bicycle speeds ahead. Music lives in every limb, every movement. Branches in blossom, the fresh earth holding us. We don’t know what will happen next—that means we can stretch out and take up this entire moment. Come play! We would have so much fun. // Inspiration America, the 1960s" With orange blossom, neroli blossom, honeysuckle, warm milk, pastry crust, salicylates, sandalwood, vanilla and heliotrope.

A Lab On Fire A Blvd. Called Sunset and Freckled and Beautiful will be $125 each for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

Yes…also seems like another one of their fragrances I can’t think of, though! But I do want to try it.

Yes! I read the notes and that was my exact reaction – “gee, that sounds fun.” I am looking forward to sniffing it at some point.

The other one sounds good, a little more mainstream. I don’t think I have every smelled anything by this house. How do they do?

They have a fragrance called Paris/L.A. that smells like a Coca-Cola macaron. I ordered a sample, sniffed it, and immediately ordered a full bottle. I love the feeling of that first sip of a cold Coke and how the bubbles almost sting a little, and this nailed it!

Haven’t tried any of the others, but I’m very intrigued by Freckled.

Now that you say that, I think that I have a sample of Paris/LA that I got as free sample with something or other that I have not smelled. I will have to see if I can dig it out….

Paris*LA is the first one I’d buy.

I am curious about A Blvd. called Sunset.
It may be one of the surprises. Freckled sounds very fun and a very 70’s throwback music scene.

I love and own California Snow and would love to own Paris*LA. I’d like to sniff both of these, although the the freckled one is definitely getting more of my attention.

LOVE this fragrance house. Have been saving up my pennies with anticipation for Freckled and Beautiful. Have Paris*LA and Messy Sexy and am tempted to get Hallucinogenic Pearl as the opening is pure magic, but the dry down loses me a bit so haven’t committed to a full bottle.
