Happy Almost-Friday and happy Root Beer Float Day! Today is also the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. Birthdays today: Andy Warhol, M. Night Shyamalan, Lucille Ball, Alfred, Lord Tennyson. What fragrance are you wearing?
My song today is Dolly Parton doing the American folk ballad Silver Dagger. (Many artists have covered this song; here's a link to a Joan Baez version.) My (lame, metal weapon related) pairing is with DS & Durga HYLNDS Bitter Rose, Broken Spear, which turns out to be perfect for this rainy morning.
Reminder: 8/7 we're doing Playlist Friday, again...name a favorite song, and wear a perfume that fits the song. (We did this project twice in 2017.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Dolly Parton singing Silver Dagger (apologies if there is an ad first, I had trouble finding a video without one.)
And the bonus track, Dolly singing Seven Bridges Road.
Scent: Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au The Bleu
Song: Qual nave smarrita (Like a lost ship), composed by Handel, performed by Lorraine Hunt Lieberson and Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra under Nicholas McGegan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgoh8_YE5nI
This song makes think of a vast blue ocean, which fits the blue theme of the scent. Besides, I get the feeling of light, air and melancholy, sadness at the same time, from both the perfume and the song.
And by the way, I was glad to find fans of Satie on Tuesday, even though I did not comment much on that day.
I am so behind, I am going to have to sit down this weekend and listen to everybody’s music. I did enjoy the Satie piece though, that is one of the few I have heard so far.
I am glad you enjoyed it!
Actually I think you deserve a medal for just reading all our comments.
Here, here!
Love love love Lorraine! I heard her here at the opera on time as Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito!
You heard her live! I am jealous.
Her voice is very expressive. Somehow she manages to convey deep emotions in a subtle way.
In FM Une Fleur de Cassie.
Happy Thursday! ?
Happy Thursday pl67!
Thanks, Robin! ?
Happy Thursday.
Thank you, KellyC! ?
I’m wearing Guerlain AA Pamplelune, for the first time this year. I always forget how strong it is on my skin. I’m still a little under the weather, and the almost sweaty note on my already sweaty skin is a little too overpowering. I may try to rinse some of it off. I generally really enjoy this fragrance, but I think that I am going to stick to some lighter scents until I feel better.
I can see how it would be a little overwhelming when recuperating from a sinus infection. I do love it, too – my cherished decant lives in the fridge.
I hope you are back to 100% soon!
Sorry you are still less than well PriscillaE! Wash it off, you don’t need annoyance.
I had a bottle but it just went too much in the bad b.o. direction for me.
Politely nodding – grapefruit turns to B. O. for me, too; but it smells wonderful on others to me.
Hope you feel better soon!
Hi all!
Fell asleep super early last night, so I’m up super early today. Working on buying a car so have been digging through my stack of Important Papers.
Wearing Hiris and pairing that with Mary Lattimore’s “Baltic Birch,” lovely contemporary harp.
https://youtu.be/-ersRF9cGYg
Stay safe all!
You smell great Coumarin, and will definitely give that a listen later…I am pretty sure I cannot name a contemporary harp artist!
I love it! Giacobetti has a way with iris!
Rifling through paperwork is never fun, but the wheels will be so worth it. ?
Never, especially when your stack is actually a box that never gets shredded. ?
Ostara. Which is, to me, a very damp and dewy scent. A morning scent. So I’ll pair it with one of my absolute favorite music pieces. A desert island piece, if you will. The Lark Ascending, performed by Hilary Hahn. I saw her perform this with NY Philharmonic and felt my chest pulling me forward.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOWN5fQnzGk
Such a beautiful piece and performance…thank you for sharing.
While I heard of Lark Ascending, I never actually heard this piece. Thank you for introducing to this beautiful music. And so wonderfull performed too.
OMG I love your pairing. That is one of my favorite pieces (the Hilary Hahn performance in particular!). What are some of your other desert island pieces?
I am AMAZED at how a musician can coax such beautiful music from a violin, seemingly effortlessly but I know it’s not! Thanks for sharing!
Good pairing!!
I’m (probably briefly) in Aftelier Lumiere this morning. I sprayed a bit more this time, and it has much more lily than a single spritz revealed. Lily is not my thing, usually, but it’s actually not bad at all in Lumiere. Song pairing for it sprang into my head shortly after spraying – The Cowsills singing about the flower girl: https://youtu.be/Bl61-KMQAnE. Enjoy.
What a great song!
Isn’t it though? So happy/sad, but in a happy-sounding way.
As expected, the Aftelier was rather short-lived, and I have now reverted to my jazz station and a healthy spritzing of Feu Secret — gaaahhh, how I love the combination of iris and incense in this. It’s also a bit chilly here today, so I added a cashmere pullover to my usual ensemble, and I’m feeling pretty darn elegant.
In St. Clair Scents Song of Aubrac. LOOOOOVE. Woke up feeling grumpy and this perfume kicked that right out the door.
Musical pairing: I adored this version of the Mozart Violin Sonata #5 “Spring” in Allegro that was performed on a Japanese anime called Nodame Cantabile. It’s Mozart’s “Spring” as it might be rearranged by a rock violinist – delicacy and precision replaced by sheer exuberance.
If you’re a stickler for violin technique you may find it appalling, but as for me I loved it’s messy, undeniable vibrancy, more suggestive of spring to me than the original!
https://youtu.be/CJZ1zZwsNPw
You smell great!
I enjoyed that version.
Love this!
Good pairing!
Wore Seville a L’aube today am in a strong orange blossom honey bubble even 3 hours later. I’m thinking baby did a bad bad thing by Chris isaak, or maybe something by Prince. Probably not the best for work, but I’m the only one on my floor so…
Oh, I want to be in a strong orange blossom honey bubble too! Maybe I will put that on later tonight.
Chypre Mousse today. It is a bright beautiful day here today, but this fragrance reminds me of rain. Happy Thursday!
Yes, it’s great on warm rainy days.
Some form of Chanel today, maybe some box of eels post shower.
Am choosing to listen to Joni Mitchell all day.
I was a free man in Paris, I felt unfettered and alive.
Love that song.
Can’t go wrong with a day full of Joni. Maybe I’ll get my iPod and join you.
all the way back to Marcie in a coat of flowers…
Oh, that song slays me. Hadn’t heard it before, so I clearly have some work to do.
Thank you for this comment! ?
Sunny and windy, went out early for a bike ride. I am sooo out of shape, despite doing four yoga classes a week. Time to reduce yoga and increase cardio. Wearing PdE Wazamba since Portia blogged about it today and I love it.
That happens to me with exercise, too – you are in good yoga shape, now need to work on cardio. I try to mix it up, but it’s hard sometimes to get it all in! (And you smell great!)
A very generous perfumista send me her last few mls, and her bottle with it, of Wazamba in my first few months of commenting on this blog. I was so amazed and grateful at the time, and think of it whenever anyone wears that fragrance. ❤️
I like to wear it in winter, would be too much for me in the heat
you smell great!!
Thanks for the Wazamba shout-out. I think I have a forgotten sample…
My sample of Chanel Riviera just arrived so I spritzed some on. Did this fly under the radar or did I just miss it?
Really lovely opening/first impression!
you smell beautiful!
I love that one. You smell great.
Wearing a dab of my BK Amber Oud on a cool rainy morning. Amber Oud is like wearing silk – smooth and soft and mellow, so my music pairing is Sade’s Smooth Operator. And now for a busy work day!
Oh, Sade! I liked her voice a lot.
Do you like Alien Mirage Lillyjo? You’re the Alien specialist and I don’t know this
new one ? I love to smell the original but not brave enough to wear it.
Sorry, this was meant for Lillyjo.
Sade twin ?I was listening to her a lot during lockdown.
I’m in Cuir Pleine Fleur– and probably sparked by Robin’s reference to Joan Baez, I think the matching music is Love Is Just a Four Letter Word (written by Dylan). I love Dolly’s version of Silver Dagger!
In other news, my hubby is with my son today at the hospital. Usually I take him to everything, but this time I just felt so sad and tired about everything, my husband offered and I accepted. Surgery will take a little over an hour, and he should be home this afternoon. My son was so smiley this morning. He said he was fine. Ach! Kids. Unbelievable.
Sorry you are feeling tired and sad, but of course I thank you for the Bob Dylan pick, and hope the day looks up!
And of course, hope your son’s procedure goes swimmingly.
I think I need some Diamonds and Rust.
Wishing your son a speedy recovery.
I’m glad you were able to stay home this time. Best recovery wishes to your son!
Hope all goes well today
hope all goes well!
Hoping all goes well today. Good opportunity for man time together.
It was very considerate of your husband. I wish you the best with your son’s surgery.
Hugs for you and your son. I’m glad your husband offered and that you let him take your son.
Ah, I hope that everything went well for your son today! Hugs.
I’m sorry, OF. That sucks, and I’m glad your husband could step in.
Hope everything went well today!
Started with PdN Eau d’Ete, and for some reason it’s not sitting right. Also no musical inspirations. Perhaps the sample has aged poorly.
Switching to Amouage Fate, and this song from Big Thief, Masterpiece. Music starts about 50 seconds in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgKJe3uiJ9g
Oh, too bad about the Eau d’Ete!
Into the bag for the next swap or giveaway
Hey guys been a while since I have posted. I lost my cat of 13 yrs last week. It was very sad.
2020 just really isn’t a good year.
I haven’t been into perfume much at all..I have lost interest in several things. Just kinda blah about everything and all I am wanting to do is watch movies for distraction.
But then I feel bad for distracting myself too much with it, lol.
The last perfume I wore was Vetiverio(sp) edp by Diptyque. Which is bitter in the beginning but dries down nice. Blah blah blah..? just not interested in a damn thing right now.
Hugs to you guys
I am very sorry on the passing of your kitty. This has been an extraordinarily difficult year. Movies and books have been a comfort and distraction for me too. Perfume has been a comfort to me as well and maybe the fragrance bug will bite you again soon. Big hugs…you are not alone.
I’m sorry to hear about your cat.
I am very sorry to hear about your cat. I lost mine a few years ago, so I know what you are feeling.
It sure has been an awful year; I hope you can find some joy in your scents again. Sending you hugs.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Omega. I hope you feel better soon.
Sorry to hear about your cat. Sending hugs.
Very sorry for your lost. Losing a beloved friend is very hard.
I am so sorry you lost your furry friend. They leave their pawprings on or hearts.
I too am sad and sorry about your kitty. I had to put my beautiful Dusty to sleep in April after fourteen years due to a hideous fast-growing tumor. I hope your kitty’s passing was peaceful. Sorry for the down-the-dumps feeling. It does seem very common in these awful times.
My heart goes out to you Omega, I too lost a beloved cat some months ago, hugs.
I’m sorry Omega. 2020 just sucks all around
I’m sorry to read about your cat. It is hard to lose a beloved pet.
I’m so sorry Omega. Hugs right back to you. We lost our kitty on Monday, but she was almost 19. A few years back, we lost one at 13, and it devastated me. A lot of us here can feel your sadness. And I’d say don’t worry too much about this season of 2020. You’ll come out of it at your own pace. It’s just a hard year.
Sending you so many hugs. This is certainly a hard year and I’m also battling the blues and such. 2020 has definitely been tough.
Sorry for the loss of your furry companion, Omega. I hope eventually knowing how happy your kitty was with you offers some consolation but I know it takes time, and that this is a crappy year to have to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Hugs.
So sorry to hear that you said a final farewell to your kitty recently. It hurts like hell. Hugs.
PS. Treat yourself gently Omega. Grief has its own schedule and agenda.
Omega, any time you want some company, you just come here and check in with your movie of the day. Thinking of you.
Deepest sympathy for the loss of your fur friend. They just don’t live long enough ?
It’s fine to just not care about a damn thing right now, 2020 is all weirdness all the time. If movies distract you, go for it and don’t feel guilty about it, times are tough enough without guilt. Hugs!
Omega, I am so sorry. Sending you hugs.
I’m so sorry to hear about your cat and you feeling in the dumps. Hugs to you.
Kitties know how much we love them – I am sorry for your loss.
I started the morning in ISM, wondering what it would do on my walk in the heat. It was very faint, but reappeared when I got back inside. I so love this rooty, carrotty thing.
Wore MFK CPLS yesterday morning.
It’s my parents anniversary today. They would have been married 60 years. ❤️
I can’t think which MFK that is! It’s sad to have these small reminders of losses. My parents were lucky to celebrate their 60th but then my father died two weeks later.
Cologne Pour le Soir. It’s so comforting and easy to wear.
Yes, these little reminders of loss are bittersweet, but getting more sweet over time, for me at least.
My mom was right when she used the phrase “tincture of time”. I can’t count the number of times I’ve leaned on that phrase in the last ten years.
<3
Another <3 to you for the memory of your parents!
a bittersweet memory, nl. My parents were married 58 when my dad died. I can hear my mom saying he was so young (82). she lived to 94 and now I know what she meant.
Awwwwww. Those dates and remembrances are bittersweet.
Sweet remembrance. And you smell fantastic!
In Dame Peach Blossom, Violet & Vanilla which a great summer vanilla.
That does sound wonderful. Wish I could be next to you.
Hey She-ra, I meant to answer your question re: vanilla in TF Lost Cherry. Lost Cherry is mostly the cherry pastry smell. Lavender Extreme, OTOH, is a vanilla number.
I just got a sample of L’AP Couleur Vanille and it is sweet, salty, incensy and musky vanilla ?
Thank you for this intel!
The Lost Cherry travel spray is awfully cute and drew my eye.
I will seek out a sample of the Lavender Extreme…didn’t realize it had vanilla. Maybe you’ve tried them but SS Lavender Vanilla is a very good straight-up lavender vanilla and Estate Lavender is a spicy more complex lavender vanilla also quite nice. And the Couleur Vanille is on my sample list too!
Great Perfume choice Robin!
Ok, I am craving me some Linda Rondstat.
Pairing: “Faithless Love” with Love & Tears: By Kilian.
https://youtu.be/UMUw67bNQ8Q
She has an older album out with Dolly Parton & Emmy Lou Harris and was a true devotee of Joan Baez. Your choice of an Eagles song really ties it all together as she is responsible for forming that group when she was selecting her back up band members years ago.
https://youtu.be/UMUw67bNQ8Q
Happy Sunny day when it finds you.
Love Linda! Many of her songs could match Love and Tears.
? I was also thinking a good a patchouli scent would work for her too. Anything earthy, herbal fresh.
I love her version of Smokey Robinson’s Ooh Baby Baby. ! Here’s a video of them doing a duet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQpeIYx3Jd8.
Oh that’s a great video, thank you Smokey Toes!
I agree, and when her voice soars it’s so pure so clear, just gorgeous!
Oops THAT’s not S.T. that’s YOU Calypso, all you cute cats tend to confuse me. Sorry. ☺️
pps thank for the ear worm! It’s a good one.
Linda’s rendition of Desperado is stunning. An amazing talent. There are a couple of artists that make me happy I lived at an age where I could appreciate them. Linda is one. Hayley Mills is another. I still treasure seeing Linda in concert with The Eagles and Loggins & Messina. What a lineup that was!
Wow! Pretty awesome!
Faithless Love is truly stunning.
And the Eagles apparently used 7 Bridges for pre-show vocal warm ups…
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6cfn9q
I am surprised Linda Ronstadt never recorded it!
Wearing Slow Dive from a sample today; love it so far! Yesterday I was in Vivacious; this was more of a like for me; I may have to dump the rest of the sample on me to try it again.
It has been a challenging week for me. Thankfully I’m off tomorrow. My work buddy is coming over for a coffee visit!
Sorry it’s been a challenging week Gail! Have fun with your coffee meet up.
Hope it’s a great long weekend!
It’s 27*C today and I’m in Riviera Drive by Atelier des Ors.
Acqua di Sale today. The matching song is Adriano Celentano with Azzurro!
Yes you do smell great. Don’t know that song, must go look.
I forgot all about the project today, I’m wearing Organza Indecence. I needed something calming after Oregon credited my June 2020 estimated tax payment to my July-filed 2019 taxes. I paid what I owed for 2019 when I filed, so now they say they owe me a refund. Of course, there is no one in the office answering the phones. Ugh.
Tax mix up, YUCK. You do smell great.
My daughter had an appointment this morning. When we were done we stopped at ULTA. I was able to try the newish Alien Mirage, which is now my Sotd. This is the first song that came to mind after spraying.
https://youtu.be/ySO-gryuO-c
????
LOL, a scrubber, huh? I’m so sorry!
Yeah, I’m sorry too, the bottle is gorgeous in person.
??
I think the chorus from this song would work for your reaction to your SOTD too –
https://youtu.be/yWhpk-8QLFQ?t=76
This is hilarious!
LOL.
LOL!
LOL!
Hahahahahahaha!
Insert a Sam Kinison scream here! ?
??
I think you get double CP credits for a scrubber pairing. ::):?
Did my cleaning routine a day early in no 5. Trying to figure out what I would like to do tomorrow because everyone is off tomorrow and I would like to not hold everyone up by vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms. Now I am about to hit the shower, eat lunch, douse myself in Feminite due Bois. Been meaning to wear it all week but something else has always caught my fancy instead.
Aren’t you nice? I personally think that if I have to do the vacuuming and clean the bathrooms, it should inconvenience everyone else as much as possible ?
Lol!
Now I don’t feel so selfish ?
DSH Rocky Mountain High today! Humming Willy Nelson’s “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”. Off to water the Bonsai.
???! Willie Nelson has quite the sense of humor in some of his songs…
SOTD = Puredistance I
Melange of flowers!

Haircut appointment – finally scheduled for Monday. I wanted the first appointment and got it.
Back to work and will read comments later! I am off for 4 business days after today so today is my FriYAY!
Are you excited about the haircut? I could barely sleep the night before mine
Ha! Yes! I was supposed to get it cut in early April. My hair grows fast so there’s a lot to chop off!
Enjoy your little staycation
Thank you sweetie ?
Smart move getting the first appointment.
I originally chose tomorrow but I would have been the 2nd appointment so I asked about Monday and voila!
FriYAY twins!
Yay us! Since COVID, I haven’t had more than one day off.
Yay for that haircut appointment!
I can’t wait. She’s going to have to cut between 3 and 4 inches all around not counting the bangs.
Wow. That pile of hair is going to look like Cousin Itt!
LOL.
SotD = vintage Vol de Nuit EdT from a sample.
The opening notes in this are beautiful. Smells like heaven all the way through.
Thursday-blursday again, and not much on my to do list. It’s the calm before the back-to-school storm.
Wishing everyone a thankful day.
forgot to add my song:
I’ll Fly Away from O Brother, Where Art Thou?
https://youtu.be/ZNa2nxgoo6U
I was a raised in a hymn singing household, so even though there is a lot of cultural baggage, I enjoy singing old time gospel songs.
Plus a fun family pushes linguistic boundaries with their version of the word “tiktok” in ASL:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CAxFTsWqeB5/
Made me smile! Parents raising children right now, I have a long-distance high five for you.
Saaaame when it comes to still enjoying hymns, albeit with a lot of cultural baggage. Love this (And O Brother, Where Art Thou?)!
Thankful for electricity and A/C! I feel for all the folks who are still waiting for their power to come back up.
I feel the same way. It’s feels good to be thankful for the little things that are big things when they are gone.
Years ago after a big storm felled a 200 year old oak I lived through a hot-n-humid couple of days in July with no electricity at my house. It was interesting, to say the least.
Nice!
What was decided for your teaching? I like your outdoors idea!
Rouge Nocturne because the juice is the color of Sade’s perfect red lips, this video is in black and white but others demonstrate this lovely singer favors red lipstick. She is the epitome of cool and mellow in these troubled times.
https://youtu.be/_oVI0GW-Xd4
Indubitably!
Sade is so beautiful!
On the Alien Mirage question uo above- I do not like it. There is no Alien DNA in this version at all. Very disappointed.
Thank you for having caught my question Lillyjo, I don’t like faithless flankers either, usually.
And Sade was beautiful indeed.
She is very classy!
Yes, she really is.
Loved Sade since I was knee high to a grasshopper! Smooooth..!
We all seem to agree, she is one cool lady.
In orange verte by Hermes.
After putting in my writing hours for the day took myself to the lake for some beach time. The colder temps are reminding me that summer is almost over and I really haven’t swam enough. Boo.
In other news a travel spray of JM orange bitters has been in transit for 15 days. What the heck is going on at the PO! Double boo
That’s a long time. Where is it coming from?
Florida I think
I have a family member who works for USPS who says the reason for current delays is changes recently put in place by the new Postmaster General that limit any overtime.Mail is stacking up at some processing centers and delays are increasing.I have had packages keep showing in transit for several weeks also.
I’ve heard something similar from “someone who knows someone”.
Grrr
I just got a package today that was sent from LA on July 8 via UPS, handed off to USPS on July 18 here in NY.
Well at least it got there I guess…
A dull wet day here after a week or more of nice winter days. I think I’ll cocoon myself in Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir.
You smell cozy!
One of my all time favs. You smell wonderful.
Shalimar Souffle for me today from an older decant that’s evaporated a lot. Seems like a lot of the top notes are gone and I’m left with powdery sweetness. I love it. I’m pairing with James Taylor- How Sweet It Is.
So thankful today is my Friday. Also sneaked off for a nice lunch date with the hubs! We used to do that all the time but our new schedules rarely allow it. It was a nice treat.
Sounds like you did fine for a perfume & music match today!
Finally haha! Been struggling this week.
I agree – good match!
Nice date ? and hooray for today being Friday for you too!
I got nuthin’ today. Barely have one eye open, but that eye is eyeballing Bvlgari Omnia for the late, late Thursday win.
Not the greatest contribution to the comment section, but maybe a bit better than my original “ugh!” which is what I uttered when I tried to get out of bed and my back reminded me in a very unkind fashion that it has total control on how my day/night will go…
And we appreciate the extra effort, LOL…
Ouch! Hope your back starts improving soon, back pain is the worst.
Oh oh, I hope it’s better by now!
Song of the day:
https://youtu.be/XfyEpmQM7bw
https://youtu.be/hzQnPz6TpGc
Not at all related to my perfume wants or whims today. Just felt like I wanted to hear that song.
SOTD = L’Artisan Passage d’Enfer, from the sample stash. I got a bit of #2 pencil shavings in with the lilies today.
I always loved the Ike and Tina version of that song best. I think I had that album. “We’re gonna start it nice and easy…”. My favorite Creedence was always Lodi, which we would sing when crossing the CA Delta and stuck behind cars because one of the various drawbridges was up.
And that video is fabulous! Thanks for posting. Always wish I’d seen Tina in person.
You’re welcome! BTW, I thought I recently heard that Tina Turner is busy with some new music. She just does NOT age!
Nope. She doesn’t. She could be 85 and I’d still want her legs.
What’s great is that both versions are so good. They each do their own thing. I can’t say I like one more than the other, it depends on my mood.
I like both versions, too, but have a soft spot for the CCR version.
Love the song and both renditions!
A great song has an incredible lifespan, doesn’t it?
They do! We couldn’t say the same of many perfumes.
Thanks, Robin, for Dolly; she’s the real deal, IMHO – but you don’t have to just be rich and in showbiz to be a HUGE success (IMHO). I love to hear her sing Coat of Many Colors. Re: CP I love hearing everyone’s songs, but I just don’t think I can make a connection. Does anyone have a perfume that would go with CCR Lookin’ Out My Backdoor? :). SOTD is Ibiza Hippie. It lasts, it stays interesting, and it is very different from anything else I have. TMI, I got IH while first falling, falling down the Rabbit Hole because it seemed to have some sort of cult status and one payday weekend, there was a nearby seller on Ebay at a decent cost……anyhoo, happy Thursday, all.
And I should have mentioned the Dolly Parton’s America podcast from 2019 above….really interesting.
LOVE that CCR song. Anything rollicking and happy would work. Byredo Pulp? Really, wouldn’t Ibiza Hippie work?
I enjoyed that podcast way more than I expected to. I was barely a Dolly fan before listening to it, but now I have so much respect and admiration for her, as a singer and as a person.
Yes – same here.
Same here. I only really listened because I was low on podcasts at the time.
The song is better than IH, much as I like IH – but maybe that is one way for a pairing to work!
My favorite CCR song! I think I would pair it with something green or earthy.
First vote for green and earthy and…..
Maybe one of the great green perfumes of the early 1970’s?
…..another vote for green. Thanks lillyjo and Jalapeno – I agree. I will dig around for Norell or ????
Ma Griffe? Tweed? Azuree? Ooo the Mossy side of MossyBerry is getting warm.
Robin, I meant to mention your scent…Bitter Rose, Broken Spear is a fascinating one I think. That metallic thing isn’t something I’d normally like but it’s really good in this one. You smell great.
And I love your Dolly songs. Thanks for posting.
Root Beer Float Day…it’s my experience that Americans are the only people who like root beer. The rest of the world doesn’t get the joy of a float in a frosted glass in August.
One of the best things I had to eat/drink in Las Vegas back in the early 2010’s was a root beer float! It really hit the spot in that dry desert air.
Root beer floats will forever remind me of my dad… oh gosh, I was going to say more but got too teary eyed.
<3
Dolly is a treasure! Her remedy for a tired throat and scratchy voice is to eat a few potato chips. It works!
I grew up drinking root beer floats at the A&W drive-in restaurant near my childhood home, a house which did not have air conditioning. It was so deliciously cooling to drink from those frosty mugs!
Late today, it’s been a busy one. Wearing Zoologist Bee and pairing it with The Lovin Spoonful Daydream. I thought of the song as soon as I put perfume on this morning ( Bee is still going strong almost 12 hours later) and I’ve had an earworm all day.
You smell wonderful and sound great!
