Marc Jacobs Perfect ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 15 July 2020 14 Comments

Marc Jacobs has launched Perfect, a new fragrance for women.

The playful and unexpected new fragrance, Perfect Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum for her, is a comforting floral scent that celebrates optimism, self-acceptance and originality.

The perfume was inspired by Marc Jacobs’ mantra: “I am perfect as I am,” which is symbolized by a tattoo of the word “perfect” on his wrist. Like his tattoo, Perfect Marc Jacobs is about embracing and expressing one’s true self.

Modern, bright, and feminine, Perfect is an unconventional yet harmonious clash of fresh floral and calming smooth notes. The fragrance opens with juicy notes of rhubarb and bright daffodil that reveal a comforting heart of almond milk. The fragrance finishes with a soft dry down of cedarwood and cashmeran.

Perfect is nothing you would expect and everything it needs to be. #MJPerfect #PerfectAsIAm

Marc Jacobs Perfect is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. A 7.5 ml travel spray will also join the collection.

Update: Perfect was developed by perfumer Domitille Michalon-Bertier.

I probably hate it, not sure, but also do think it’s fun and unusual.

Yeah, I was being a tad snarky. It really doesn’t matter to me what the bottle looks like, as long as I like what’s inside. That said, I still hate it😂

    Oh la la.
I love the sound of this. I love daffodils. Marc Jacobs is really inventive and they’ve been struggling a bit so hopefully this’ll buoy their sales.

I like the concept behind it.
Rhubarb, daffodil and cedarwood sounds lovely but I dunno about almond milk, cashmeran is a hit and miss for me.
The bottle looks cheap but it made me laugh 😂

The bottle itself is very familiar and thus uninteresting. As with the Daisy line, it’s the lid that sells as much as the juice. It works for brand and perfume identification. This new lid will do the same. Do the bow, star, banana, dice, and shoe have any significance?

I was wondering that too? It seems a very hodgepodge assortment of random items.

Apparently they’re all lucky charms? MJ asked staff to bring him all kinds of charms and “goodies” for inspiration.

To me it looks like a handful of gumball-machine prizes got left in the back seat of a hot car and melted together…

Rhubarb and daffodil sound intriguing! However, the cedar ruins it for me. Maybe I should sniff it anyway.

Don’t waste your time on this one. It is a very generic uninteresting fragrance, sure wish Marc Jacobs would come up with something more intense and interesting or Something unique. The bottle is cute, but the juice is disappointing.
