Another weekend gone! It's Monday and National Fried Chicken Day. Birthdays today: Frida Kahlo, Hilary Mantel. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm waking up slowly, in Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré.
Reminder: 7/10 is Piña Colada Day. Wear a perfume with pineapple, coconut, rum, or any combination of the three.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Jambomambo nsters,
Up a few minutes before alarm. Good sleep was had.
Really hot in Los Angeles even by water so something light post shower. Maybe another Chanel eaux since they have been so lovely the past few days.
Have to conduct three workshops this week with white boards and breakout rooms and videos yikes via zoom.
good sleep is always a game changer
Aspara, are you a teacher?
Which eaux is your favorite?
A dear friend of mine gifted me the Paris Deauville Shampoo and body wash for my birthday in April.
Middle Marzipan laid claim to it. Now methinks I need to get her the EDT for her birthday. ?
Ooh how is the body wash? Deauville is my favorite and I do not regret that FB. I think they make a smaller size bottle now too.
The body wash is divine. And it is an amazing hair shampoo too!! Lingers in the hair!
Oh, I love a nice smelling shampoo! I adored Bvlgari’s au the Blanc when it was available. I could have bathed in a vat of the stuff!
cm8, I am not a teacher, but I facilitate a lot of learning and meetings.
I am change management consultant and I take people through the change process. it’s rooted in industrial psychology and organizational development. What is so different about this change ( Covid -19 and everything that followed) is it was imposed on us. Usually people plan the change, communicate and work proactively to ready their workforce. This one was pure reaction and and now fatigue.
I love Deauville lotion with Biarritz fragrance. Middle Marzipan – she will love, no doubt.
Jambo bwana! Habari gani, Mzuri sana. Hakuna matata!!!
Asante sana!
🙂 🙂 🙂 !!!
Congrats on a good night’s sleep!
Ok, I need to know: what is the connection between today and Thomas Cromwell?
I am doing Piña Colada week, and today I focus on rum. SOTD is Made in Italy (formerly Memento Italian Olfactive Landscapes) Roma. A rum perfume you can wear on a hot day.
Hilary Mantel wrote a trilogy on Thomas Cromwell. Click on Robin’s link: Mantel has made some funny and spot on comments about British royalty and Catholic clergy. And she seems pretty unrepentant!
Ooh! Thank you!
Thank you, I am slow today! Yes, just because it’s Hilary Mantel’s birthday.
And still, the third in the trilogy languishes on my desk’s side table. I raced through the prior two books, but currently doubt my capacity to read anything quite so doorstop-ular at the moment.
I’m just the same! It’s waiting on my Kindle.
Did anyone else develop a big crush on Mark Rylance when the show was in TV? Much more appealing than the guy in the portrait!
I am reading it, but very slowly. I actually think it’s a great book it’s just hard to see him go.
Calypso, when I first saw this Holbein portrait of Thomas More I thought oh, that’s Rylance!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portrait_of_Thomas_Cromwell
(scroll down, the More one is on the left)
Robin I adored her first book long ago when released but could find nearly the enthusiasm for the second one. Should I revisit it and try to putter along to her latest? I know I may have missed this during our book review…
‘Feel ya’ Oakland Fresca!
I don’t know…do you mean you tried to read it and couldn’t get into it, or that you couldn’t summon the enthusiasm to read it at all?
I guess I’d feel safer if it was the latter…if you couldn’t get into it, maybe the subject just isn’t that interesting to you?
Thank you for asking – I too was wondering the same thing.
I am glad it was not just me! 🙂
We specialize in obscure connections 🙂
ciao a tutti (hello everyone)
I am smelling beautiful today, in my other favorite “S” perfume Songes
Thanks to smokeytoes, I am still eating peanut butter toast every morning…today I made a cappuccino at home with almond milk.
Thrift store outfit of the day is Anna Sui dress I bought for 10 bucks at Housingworks here in NYC https://images.app.goo.gl/s3SRe6DE1EiumCJ6A
No affiliation, but over the weekend I ate the best pistacchio gelato I have ever had on this side of the pond, Polosud on Mott street. You will not be disappointed New Yorkers.
Mondays will no longer make me blue, because my Italian classes start this week on tomorrow, so I will be looking forward to the beginning of the week, every week.
Speaking of Italian, RIP to Ennio Morricone, a Oscar winning movie composer…if anyone remembers the tune from the Good the Bad and the Ugly…
And so many others! Mr. Morricone, god speed.
So many wonderful scores and soundtracks…such a loss.
Oh yay, hope the classes are wonderful.
That’s how I feel about my choir practice and music lessons on Wednesday and Saturday.
Good luck with Italian.
That dress is adorable ?
Yes, and you can pair a lot of fun rings with this dress! 🙂
SOTD: Santal Blanc. I’ve lost some of my perfume mojo, but this oddity always seems right.
I’ve also lost my cooking mojo, same as a number of people here and had a lunch of broccoli slaw and fried calamari, bought at a deli/take-out, but both super fresh. And yesterday for dinner I made toasted cheese sandwiches, but with a really good aged white cheddar and a shop bought Indian chutney made with green chillies and coriander/cilantro for the US. Both these simple meals were surprisingly good. Hang in there, fragrant folks.
I have lost my cooking mojo until my neighbor gave me all these herbs to “plant sit” while she is gone for a month. I started roasting veggies with lemon thyme, butter and sage, and making caprese salad with the basil, mint tea. The one I am not sure I can cook with is the lavender.
oh and rosemary…
There is a lovely recipe “idea” for dessert using rosemary: infuse organic, flavorful honey (sadly the kiddie beebottle honey will not do, you need dark and funky) with rosemary by gently heating some sprigs with the honey before discarding it; then drizzle the honey over sliced wheels of blood orange.
For lavender and rosemary recipes Diana Henry’s cookbooks are great.
thank you! Great idea…
I tried to look up the link for my lavender scones recipe and found so many more delicious-looking recipes for lavender muffins, lavender ice cream, lavender bars that I’m just going to say “google it”.
OMG lavender scones! Must make those soon. We are visiting a lavender farm tomorrow.
How lovely! I visited a lavender farm in central Texas years ago and it was heaven. Have fun tomorrow!
Lavender goes great with stone fruit, I do chicken legs with peaches and some sprigs of lavender, recipe by Diana Henry. Its easy and delicious
My sister makes lavender scones with lemon zest and they are fabulous.
Zoe Francois’ blog has several lavender-centric desserts.
I lost my perfume mojo too. This is after over half a century of daily wearing!!!
I think you’re entitled to a breather!
Hey, at least you popped in here to say hi, that counts! I’m confident your mojo will return after the twilight zone has receded.
It will return.
I agree. Mine waxed and waned and blahhhhhhhhh. but in past few weeks has picked up again.
I run low on cooking mojo in normal times 😉 but both meals sound delightful. Hope your perfume mojo returns.
Thanks. And hoping you get some inspiration for the cooking. Sometimes people on here will mention their meals and it will plant a seed at least. Even if one doesn’t copy the dish exactly, a little flash goes “ooh, lentils – or whatever- haven’t eaten that in a while!”
She-ra, you and me both!
That chutney sounds wonderful. I have intentions to cook, or rather make cold salads to have on hand since it’s so hot, but my husband has a mildly annoying habit of unknowingly devouring key ingredients before I get stuff made. Then I lose my cooking make-do mojo and give up. It’s too hot to shop or think. We’ve been eating a lot of cold cereal.
Same here – cold cereal and french toast. 🙂
The only mojo I have right now is for cooking. Thank God! I made a delicious and new-to-me recipe last night of spaghetti with a calabaza squash sauce.

My account is private but if you’re on here and send me a request I’ll add you.
I’m actually able to do a week of the CP. First up is Histoires de Parfums 1804.
Nice! I will not manage a week, obs.
Look at your Chypres, they often have a coconut note, although I cannot smell this.
Oh I have plenty of coconut! I just meant I already let a day go by without wearing any 🙂
I really like that one. Unfortunately I finished my sample a couple of weeks ago, but if I ever buy another HdP, it will be 1804.
I really like that it is still possible to find travel sprays of HdP fragrances.
No pina colada here yet – the hand went straight to Mediterraneo this morning. No regrets whatsoever.
I wore a lot of that this weekend. And have Lush 25:43 cued up on my desk here 🙂
I’ve never tried any of the Lush line, but 25:43 sounds delicious.
It’s quite nice, very different from a conventional citrus — rather blunt, which is generally the Lush style.
You smell amazing! I should wear Mediterrnaeo soon.
Totally off CP today in Violetta. But it is making me happy. And PriscillaE’s comment will have me checking out my sample stash because I may have HdP 1804 in there.
I am two weeks post-major-emergency (non-COVID-related) surgery; I’ve been home for ten days. All is well and I should recover fully (and be better than ever!), but am looking at about eight weeks of recovery time…and so my working life is up in the air. I’m a professor; I do not get paid for summers, but of course I generally spend them working full time on my own writing and on course prep. That has ground to a screeching halt, which means that thinking about fall really freaks me out right now — even more so than it would with just the “regular” uncertainties about how fall instruction will unfold.
So glad all is well, but sorry for the extra stress about work skalolazka!
May your recovery go as smoothly as possible! I hope the stress from the uncertainty gets better as you get closer to the semester beginning and get some more concrete details.
Glad the surgery went well.
Wonderful news about your road to recovery. I hope you can relax and forgive yourself for sliding a bit on summer writing and fall prep! The break from work will help you heal faster–but I can imagine that is frustrating.
That must be so frustrating, try to take it a day at a time. I hope your recovery continues to go smoothly.
You smell lovely! Glad all went well, channel your energies into healing and try not to fret about work.
Stop worrying and focus on healing – easier said than done, I know! If it helps ease your anxiety, I have vowed to not spend a single moment planning for fall until I have a contract , which will be close to August 1st.
Oh my, I hope your recovery is fast and you can return to your routine
Wishing you a great convalescence.
Have a great recovery!
Best of luck healing, perhaps the respite will spark your creativity in the upcoming days.
I’m glad to hear that your went well. Emergency and surgery aren’t words that you really want to hear together.
I hope things get better soon
Glad to hear that your surgery went well.
Oh, best of luck for healing quickly and for work life feeling more settled!
If I was participating I would be wearing original formulation Midnight Fleur , 2012, for the pineapple note.
Instead I wear Tone Soap and Alba Botanicals Intense Healing doctored up with lemon and eucalyptus essential oils.
But please pass me a frozen pina colada!!!!
Where did you even find Tone soap?! I remember that from my childhood and it seems like we especially used it the summer, but I haven’t seen it in the stores for years.
I have been adding lots of sweet orange oil to my Carina lotion. I should add some eucalyptus too.
Wearing Beyond Love, not much into perfume today, BL feels a bit much. I should have put on a cologne instead.
I don’t often wear colognes . Maybe because it rarely gets hot , not sure. I hope tomorrow is a better perfume day.
Sampling Dame New Musk oil today which is quite nice.
And a kind and generous NSTer is sending me some Black Flower Mexican Vanilla EDP to try…it has been said before but NSTers really are the best. ♥️
I also have a sample of the Musk oil somewhere…
I have a FB of the musk oil, it’s very clean and fresh…
Oh you smell great! That Dame musk is one of my favorites, it layers nicely too.
I am wearing Las Flores by Provision Scents today. I don’t know if I have anything to fit the CP, but I would love a pina colada right now!
I hope everyone’s Monday isn’t too Monday. Have a great day!
It is a little after 9 AM here, but I think I could use a pina colada as well!
I have not had a Pina colada for years, but would like to taste one again
I use Pina Colada yogurt in my chicken salad, with white grapes, toasted pecans, and a sprinkle of coconut flakes, pretty tropical! Not low-calorie, I’m afraid…
Woke up in Courtesan today and people having epic tantrums over wearing a mask was a little funny in the beginning but now is pretty sad. Wearing Zagorsk today to combat the heat.
People had epic tantrums about masks back in the early 20th century during the Spanish flu, too! I keep repeating this because I think there is a general idea that it’s symptomatic of our current political landscape, but no.
That helps so much to hear… Thank you, Robin!!!
Soooo many people being like “our society has collapsed and no one understands civility” RN and I’m sitting on the sidelines like “pretty sure there’s always gonna be people that act out cuz we all have to fight that urge, no? Believe me I don’t behave kindly to others cuz it’s EASY” ?
Good morning. I am wearing Caron Piu Bellodgia today and drinking my second cup of green jasmine tea.
This past weekend my parents celebrated 55 years of marriage 🙂
My sisters and I had a small family dinner for them at a local restaurant. This was made all the more special because my Mother got out of the hospital the day prior to this. The doctors are confident they can manage my Mom’s problems by adjusting her medications.
Robin, I was confused when I saw the painting of Cromwell, then I scrolled down to the mention of Hillary Mantel. I did watch Wolf Hall, and it was very good.
55 years? Oh. That is lovely.
Congrats to your parents!!!
Mine just celebrated 62 years.
Beautiful!
Happy anniversary to them! Sounds like a lovely evening.
Congratulations to your parents! Mine just celebrated 55 years as well. So glad to hear your mom was well enough to come home.
So glad you enjoyed a great celebration with your parents.
Wow! Congrats to your parents!
I confused most everybody!
Huge congrats to your parents, that’s just lovely, and so glad your mom is well.
Congratulations to your parents Barqs! 55 years is something special and rare.
Thanks ! It was a fun night.
I’m glad you were able to have a nice family celebration for your parents. 🙂
Had a fun 4th with my fam, despite a crabby email from my boss. Ah well. Dealing with it now.
In Mure et Musc Extreme, which is only sort of ringing my bell this AM.
In less than tragic but definitely disappointing COVID-19 happenings–My older son is transferring colleges, and needs to do a transfer student summer school program for his new school. He starts today. I really feel for him. Online was not exactly the way he imagined this all going. Each class is seven hours a day. Blergh!
I do love Mure et Musc, you smell wonderful!
I’m feeling better about it now… Being in a crappy mood does not improve the scent of a perfume…
Sympathy with your son’s disappointment, but hoping (for your sake) that he is at least transferring closer to you. My eldest son turns 17 this year and universities and where he’d like to go has become a favourite topic of his. My husband and I are not as thrilled as we thought we would be!
Well, farther away, actually (but upstairs in his room for the time-being). But in many ways he’ll be closer in that he’ll be near friends and places we would normally want to visit, so we’ll have more reasons to fly across the country. That is, COVID-19 and the gods and goddesses permitting!
7 hours!? Poor kid, I feel for him too.☹️
7 hours is brutal.
Brutal, except I did just catch sight of him out back tying up a tree trunk (guess he’s doing his design basics class today???) so there’s that!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CCUDRhLhTnW/ ??
fantastic! 😀
That’s too long! I hope the program is well done, with lots of different types of activities etc.
Seven hours is tough. University (real-life) classes started again here yesterday which was a nice boost for students.
Hi all, my SOTD is Black Orchid by Tom Ford (spray and body oil). Been a humdinger of a weekend.
A lot of fireworks, no sleep, one anxiety-ridden (22lb) cat, and two friends were diagnosed with Covid-19, one with severe pneumonia.
Oy, makes me want a bourbon, neat, and it’s only 9:30!
Oh dear. Wishing you sound sleep tonight, and much better health for your friends.
Thanks GalbanumGal. Keeping my fingers crossed for them!
That’s a lot to take in ?
I can sympathize about your traumatized cat, my Larry is not a fan of fireworks either and our neighborhood goes kind of crazy.
Bar LVTSG is officially open 😉
just checked my liquor cabinet. I don’t think we have Bourbon, but I have a good bottle of aged whisky.
Or I can make you a Aperol spritz with a juicy orange slice…
Oh, thank you LV2SM! I’ll take my bourbon or whisky neat, please.
I’m trying not to worry about my friends and told the hubby to please call ahead, then head in to the ED at the first sign of difficulty breathing. He’s a Marine through and through, he’s inclined to try and tough it out…
Hope your friends recover quickly
Hope your day will improve and if a drink helps.
Yikes. Best wishes to your friends and better sleep for you.
Aiyiyi! That’s a lot to deal with. Fingers crossed for your friends.
Bourbon in coffee is delicious. Just saying….
Yes! It def. is! 😀
Oh No SmokeyToes! Best wishes to your friends, I pray they respond quickly. Hugs to you.
Ha! I was thinking of Neroli Dore this morning but in the end I grabbed my sample of Blanc Polychrome – new Atelier des Ors, to test it.
Hopefully it turned out well.
Don’t think there’s any rum or pineapple to be had in my collection.
Coconut’s covered, though! If I do say so myself, am smelling summery & sultry in Champs Lunaires.
A virgin colada 😉
I could easily do a week of the CP, but Chanel Paris-Deauville was calling my name this morning, so that had to be my SOTD.
I am about 1/3 of the way thru The Mirror and the Light. Good stuff.
Monday! It sure is. Pestilential cat has decided that he wants breakfast at 5:30am for the past 2 days. ARRRRGH
But only 6 more work-Mondays left (including today) before retirement, woo hoo! My boss still has not officially told my team that I am retiring. Though the word is leaking out, of course.
ok..lets count down Pixel…
You should treat yourself to a FB of something to celebrate and have it arrive on day 6.
Yay for six more weeks! We are lucky if the dog lets us sleep past 5:30, she is a pestilence as well.
Six weeks is not very long. Hope they will do a nice party on your last day. And treat yourself to something nice!
I think my retirement party will just be me, husband, and cat (pestilence though he may be), due to covid. Things are getting worse here, not better. Actually I was thinking I might want to nip into the office this week to clean out my cubicle, before the county decides they have to close down offices again. I haven’t been to the office since February…!
Sometimes I think my cats consider “D@mn1t” as an honorific.
My dog thinks her name is Quiet.
Six weeks will pass fast! I hope your boss fishes herself out of DeNial River soon….
That makes for a very exciting week Pixel.Congratulations.
We should celebrate with you by wearing the same perfume!
Pick one.
Yes, we’d celebrate with you! 🙂 It seems like it would be a good time to retire from work. I feel like there’s just so much wackiness going on in the U.S., but I’ll stay vague. I’m still trying to avoid the news on TV to the extent that I can and just concentrate on what I can control or enjoy in my own little “real-life” world, and my interactions online with people who share interests with me. I think of it as mental health self-care. 😀
Very fitful sleep, but according to my Fitbit it was good sleep. I slept pretty deeply at first I guess but then I felt like the rest of the night was alternating dreams and periods of being awake. It did not seem restful. .
OJ Champaca, which I like a great deal. I like a bit of sharpness at the beginning but then a nice floral…I get the rice.
You smell great LizzieB!
I’m in California Reverie for another hot one. We seem to be in a pattern. I’m down to the last few drops of my decant and if I reapply, it will probably be a thunk.
My ethics class starts today. Looks like there will be some interesting discussions, hopefully my viewpoints don’t get me into trouble.?
I had to be out this morning so stopped into Ulta. Sniffed Dior Homme 2020 which smells nothing like the original. I don’t understand why they didn’t just change the name completely.
Hehehe about the ethics class, I am getting a lot of practice keeping my mouth shut lately with everything going on. 🙂
same here!!
Stating my viewpoint got me thrown out of Rosary Brigade. In the end, if one asks for forgiveness (from entity of choice and others in the group) but continues to harbor hate, was the asking for forgiveness really sincere? I know what my answer is.
Is it bad that I am enjoying 70 minutes of my life back everyday? ?
Wow, why did it take 70 minutes?
No, enjoying having 70 minutes a day back for yourself is not bad. 😀
If it helps, the way you did your swapmeet requests got me motivated to donate to the local food bank, which I’d wanted to do anyway. 🙂 They said (paraphrasing), “Thank you. We can really use this to get food and necessities.” You’re still doing good in your own way, and inspiring others to do the right thing. 🙂
I got my decant of California reverie in my monthly allotment from FragranceNet and I’m really enjoying it – if you want to do a split let me know!
Wearing about 10 sprays of Bronze Goddess today. Summer arrived yesterday and should be here on and off this week.
I will have to find my coconut lotion from BBW and Coconut edt from Yves Rocher.
Lucky you! We had snow on May 8th and a heat warning two weeks later, it’s been full on since then. Environment Canada promised us a hot summer and they are delivering!
Oh no! That’s very intense, especially with the humidity. A few years ago we had 40 degree days for 2 months solid!
Yay for double-digit sprays! 🙂
Moonwind cologne this morning. I have Friday off, too bad I can’t be on a literal beach with the beachy scent I’ll be wearing.
Wearing Go Ask Alice, the perfect bitter green to cut through the heat. I found a very fun estate sale yesterday that was set up outside and in an open tent so I masked up and went. The sign said everything half price, my 3 favorite words along with “out for delivery” and my favorite thrifting buddy was there too, which was lovely. I came home with a car packed full of vintage stuff although no perfume. My work is cut out for weeks!
What fun! Glad you found some goodies, and safely enjoyed the hunt. ?
Another hot day, wearing Micallef Vanille Oud, although I thankfully smell no oud. But it lacks oomph and pineapple, so I will be adding a couple of sprays of Or du Sérail.
I decided that I’d do a full week of the CP – found it’s coconuts and co., and will be lucky if I find 3 things like that in my sample stash! Today, in Dangerous Complicity. Even though I dabbed on a third of the sample vial, I still find it fairly faint – had the same issue with the other samples from this ELDO set. Me want sprays! Happy Monday.
No CP points thunking a small decant of Florabotanica, I have another big sample of this to use up. I have some scent with unexpected coconut which I will dig out this week.
I’ve had fresh pineapple for dessert this evening by coincidence. Wearing Fico di Amalfi.
Now you just need to have a shot of rum 😉
Oh yes, I’ll have to wear a rum perfume tomorrow 🙂
I’m wearing Assam of India today which is great in the summer. It was partially inspired by watching Beecham House on PBS last night with such gorgeous scenes of India.I unfortunately am very frustrated with the handsome main character who seems to have no strategic brain, but I suppose it helps develop the plot.
Ah, was wondering if that was good?
I enjoy watching it just for the gorgeous Indian clothing and scenery. The plot is a bit frustrating at times.
Thanks.
I have a decant of that, and I’m really enjoying it this summer too
SOTD = Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur
Nice and light and bitter. ?
This past Saturday, I posted about a deal on Bruno Fazzolari perfume samples: essentially $9 (includes free shipping) for a 3-customizable sample set. The catch is that the same set of 3 will be sent to another person. I offered to pair up people; just send me the list of 4 you’re interested in and I’ll match you with someone. If interested, please read my comment on the Lazy Weekend Poll around the 12:23pm Eastern mark. Since this is only good for July, I’ve asked for the emails to be sent to me by July 10th.
Gucci has done a couple of perfumes that I think are sniff worthy in recent times. You’re wearing one of them.
Thanks. I really should wear this more often and the bottle is gorgeous!
Oh nice, I will sign up, thank you hajusuuri.
I smelled MduO recently and I thought it was lovely, easy to love.
Got your email. Indeed, MdUO is easy to love!
A real winter’s day here, with snow predicted later. Bracing myself to take Alex into hospital soon. During lockdown I cut his hair and noticed a mole on his ear which I couldn’t recall seeing before. It turned out to be melanoma and was removed but today he has to have surgery to remove lymph nodes and about 2cm off his ear. Poor guy…not only a terrible haircut but cancer and hospital dinners as well. Not sure about perfume but thinking Bat!
I’m sorry to hear about Alex, but so lucky you spotted the mole! Wishing him all the best.
Echoing Gaynor at your good fortune of spotting the cancer. A real winter’s day indeed. We’ll all be thinking of you and him.
Good for you for spotting the mole. I hope his surgery goes well. Poor man, missing half his ear. Best wishes for both of you.
Thinking of you, and sending good health wishes to Alex!
Oy vey! Poor Alex. But good for you on spotting that mole, and getting it dealt with ASAP. Best wishes for what’s coming next.
Wow, so glad you caught it! Hope the recovery is quick — I don’t know anything about getting lymph nodes removed so apologies if that’s just stupid.
I thought of you today when I looked at the Longwood Gardens (near me) youtube channel, they’ve got a botanical lecture from a fellow from New Zealand, looks interesting:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9sYK8-VWk4
Hope the recovery goes smoothly. All good wishes for both of you.
Great job spotting it…hoping for a quick recovery.
Lucky you caught that! Sending thoughts of healing winging Alex’s way.
So glad you saw the mole when you did! Best wishes to you both.
Wow, it’s great you spotted it. Best wishes for his speedy recovery!
Kanuka, best of luck to Alex, and you.
Kudos to you for being conscientious.
Ormond Jayne Woman for me today. I’m wearing a dark green jacket and it seems appropriate.
This past weekend marked my first days back to work in over three months, so I ‘celebrated’ by wearing Bottega Knot on Saturday and Kitten Fur on Sunday. Yay that I am getting excited about perfume again!
Hope the transition goes smoothly!
I’ve been hunkered down today. First part of the day was hot and humid. ?? Second part has been lots of thunder, lightning, rain and wind… at one point I couldn’t even see the front of our truck in its parking spot, the rain was so heavy! Some of the thunder was so intense that it shook the house. ⚡☔? Scary weather out there right now.
SOTD = JM Lime Basil & Mandarin, courtesy of madtowngirl.
Stay safe jalapeno!
No worries lillyjo! I haven’t even opened the front door since all the thunder rolled in after lunch.
We got about 5 minutes worth of hail – various sizes and shapes bit most were a ragged cube shape, most between 0.5” x 0.5” and 0.75” x 0.75”. There was aloud racket and I really hope my wondows were not damaged. My car looks ok. We got a deluge of rain with a lot of bowling going on. We do need the rain so the soaking was good … the only negative is that we will continue with the hot and humid over the next few days.
Jalapeno, we had some of that last nite!Yikes is right.
Please tell me what you think of that one. It sounds so refreshing for the summer heat.
Just saw your comment a little while ago. I’d call this particular JM “a chypre light” or a “summer chypre”. I get citrus, a little bit of fresh, very green basil, and a hint of something woody or herbal. It doesn’t really change on my skin.
No worries! Thanks very much Jalapeno.
I have a rant, but will save it for tomorrow when I have more time.
Sotd is Narciso edp white cube. I’m always curious how much I have left in this bottle. The opaque glass is so heavy, it’s hard to judge.
Maybe a gentle shake could tell you how much is left? Listen to how much liquid is sloshing around when you do that.
If you had the right shaped container you could fill it with water and place the bottle into it and see where the float line is… If the bottle were able to stay erect.
Oh boy, sounds like we’re in for a good one. I’ll make some ?
Schooch over H!
Harajuku Lovers G for me today. A lively, crisp coconut perfume. I have the adorable tiny bottle and I have not looked but I bet it has been discontinued.
Late check in…..started out in Cuir de Lancôme and migrated to Arielle Saturday after the shower.
Stayed pretty busy today with laundry and housework, which was good for my state of mind. ??
I wore Vivacious yesterday for a true pick me up!
Immediately I caught the violet leaf, reminiscent to me of OJ Woman and a lovely slightly candied violet. It is a bright crisp and energizing scent. The dry down (I lost the middle due to the horrid heat and some exercise) is a slightly sweet comfy amber and something green. Good longevity. I reapplied at bedtime and it’s still here.
For the CP, Do Son. Tropical relaxing. I trying to lean into it.
