It all started with our fried chicken-scented sunscreen launch

Posted by Robin on 2 March 2020 6 Comments

“It all started with our fried chicken-scented sunscreen launch in 2016, which really kickstarted these PR stunts and the integration of our unmistakable KFC scent into some of them,” said Staci Rawls, KFC’s chief communications officer.

Like the Quarter Pounder candles, KFC’s promotions get people talking every time, and they sell out every time. Rawls attributes this to a social media-driven “rapid-sharing culture.”

They gotta be ridiculous I guess to keep up with Chick Fil A, Raising Canes and Popeyes. Chick Fil A is so good..I would consider a pillow mist of it lol.

Am I the only one on the planet that has never been to a Chick-Fil-A? They weren’t around when I was young, and when I was eating fast food I pretty much wanted a burger.

It very much used to be McDonald’s, KFC and Dairy Queen. Nowadays, so many options of everything.. and at the grocery store, sheesh. If I pick out a toothpaste, I feel like I really achieved something lol. Back in the day, one would just pick up a tube of plain ol, original Crest and move on. Lol.

We had McDonald’s, Ginos (which IIRC had branded Kentucky Fried Chicken), Roy Rogers & some taco place that I can’t remember the name of. It might have been some early version of taco bell. Anyway, fast food was a treat then! I didn’t know anybody who really ate it regularly or considered it a replacement for real meals.

Chick-Fil-A has waffle fries that are extremely tasty. They’re pretty much the only fast food fries I will eat.
