Amouage Love Mimosa ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 25 July 2019 17 Comments

Amouage has launched Love Mimosa, a new floral gourmand fragrance in the Secret Garden Collection.

Discover a yellow landscape filled with a soft and velvety fragrance, leaving an unforgettable memory.

The fragrance’s top notes open with an aquatic tone accented by Violet Leaves and Cascalone. In its heart, Mimosa is painted with a creamy and powdery finish together with Orris and Heliotrope. Pear adds a juicy sweetness with a subtle fruity aroma that is both light and modern.

For Love Mimosa, Amouage worked with perfumer Elise Benat to create a unique fragrance using the emblematic and intriguing facets of the Mimosa flower.

Additional notes include paradisone, ylang ylang, heliotrope and ambrox.

Amouage Love Mimosa is $380 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

This looks promising but I am running for the hills if Cascalone is related to Calone (shudder).

It’s an ozonic / air note, but I think it’s watery too — but less melon-y than calone.

Thanks, Robin. It sounds like I need to proceed with caution!

Fragrantica files it, Cascalone, under the perfume group: NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC, POPULAR AND WEIRD

(All I have ever aspired to be!)

When I saw the announcement yesterday and the notes a lemming alert turned on. I’m hoping to test it soon. Maybe finally there’ll be an Amouage that I love.

@hajusuuri – Cascalone is watery but has nothing to do with sickening melon effect of Calone.

Oh, I cannot wait to try this one. Even Amouages I don’t feel I need to own, I often really enjoy testing.

I wonder what this one will be like. I didn’t dislike the tuberose love (name?) but wasn’t impressed either. I do like mimosa a lot.

I don’t fear ozone and slightly aquatic notes, as some do, and I keep staring at that beautiful pale yellow bottle.

Aquatic… Cascalone… pear… my expectations of liking this are very low, especially since I haven’t liked any of the other scents in this series. But the bottle is pretty.

I’ll think me and my wallet is gonna skip that one…

I honestly can’t remember when I was last excited for a release from this company ☹️
