Hermès will launch Un Jardin sur la Lagune, a new unisex fragrance (the sixth) in the brand's Jardin series. The last was Le Jardin de Monsieur Li.
Un Jardin sur la Lagune was inspired by a 'secret walled garden' in Venice, built by an English Lord. The notes feature Madonna lily, magnolia, pittosporum, wood and aquatic notes.
Un Jardin sur la Lagune was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel.
Hermès Un Jardin sur la Lagune will debut in March, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Hmmm…
🙂
Yikes! Pittosporum blooms everywhere in hedges here in the late spring and makes EVERYONE sneeze–I can’t imagine wanting or trying a perfume with it in!
Our old house had a bush that was aspiring to be a tree, and I LOVED walking past it in bloom. But I really adore the big white flowers . . . in nature at least if not always in perfume.
Just the opposite for me; when I read pittosporum I was hooked on trying this…love the scent of the flowers (no sneezes here!)
This could be really yummy. I have not been as lucky with Nagel’s creations for Hermès as with Elléna’s. Still, I will try. Plus the bottle is utterly gorgeous.
I love those Jardin bottles and the boxes! I think the prettiest colour is Un Jardin après la Mousson.
It’s mine too, both bottle, box and juice!
Dear me, the waters of Venice in August can be fairly smelly, so fortunately Hermes isn’t overly concerned with photorealism.
They had me at JARDIN (and lost me at aquatic).
Exactly the same! Love the Jardin line, don’t love aquatic notes.
I, too, was concerned about aquatic but if the aquatic is more “mineral” similar to EdM Bleue, sign me up!
Good point. I really like Eau Claire. I wonder if it could be like that? Mineral and salty? I don’t think I’ve tried EdM Bleue.

Hi! Hi!
Aquatic notes just don’t jive with my skin….but this looks great!
I’m not really onboard (geddit?) with aquatic notes, either, and Monsieur Li I found very disappointing, but this one has me curious, I’ll admit.
Even if my first thought, too, was, “Venice; garden facing onto the lagoon. So … kinda swampy, then?”
I too was disappointed by Mr. Li’s garden but I’ve liked all the others. Very curious to try this one.
Me three. Li was very limp and dull.
The Jardin series has a special place in my heart after reading The Perfect Scent. I wonder how this compares to Chanel’s Paris-Venise, just cause of the same theme (very different notes).
I’m very interested in this! I love Un jardin sur le Nil and like all in the series (maybe except Sur le toit, not sure about that one). And I have a newfound interest in aquatics (I sampled both Imaginary authors Every storm a serenade and Kerosene Walk the sea and that was that). Also, the bottle is beautiful.
I finally bought Monsieur Li this year on the DutyFree shop on the way back from the US. It was a reasonable price and one of the first things I tried on skin on the Duty Free shop… after walking around a bit, it changed on my skin and it really agrees with my chemistry.
My husband tried it himself but on his skin it turned a bit sour and quite synthetic. But he smelled it on my arm as I passed by and was surprised at the difference and as we both liked it I got it! 🙂
I was ready to pull the trigger on Galop, but Mr Li saved it from my credit card LOL. Looking forward to try this new one on the next trip!
I’m super excited for this! Looking for a spring scent anyway, perfect timing. I hope the aquatic bit means mineral, like in EdM Bleue, turns out I love salty notes.
I’m delighted Hermes is adding to the Jardins series, obviously a success for them, I love and have Sur le Nil (my favorite), en Mediterranee and Apres la Mousson.
