With apologies, I am behind once again. I have not yet finished reading Friday’s comments, and I’m not sure when I’ll be able to chime in this weekend. I will try to post another scent of the day on Monday, but if I can’t, I’ll be back Tuesday.

Meanwhile, our standard lazy weekend open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, what you’re hoping to see on fragrance counters in 2019, whatever.

Friday scent of the day 12/28

It’s Best of 2018 Friday! (It’s also the fourth day of Christmas, and the third day of Kwanzaa, and there are 3 days left until the end of 2018.) Our community project for today: wear one of your favorite fragrance releases of 2018.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I have absolutely no idea what the best new release was this year — I just did not try enough new fragrances. I’m in Hermès Cèdre Sambac, which is at least from the right year…

Seven scented stones

To take part in the virtual reality experience, in-store shoppers at Julieraque, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, are prompted to wear a virtual reality headset and pick up seven scented stones within the virtual setting in order to activate an eight-second unique video. Each stone is tied to a broad fragrance concept, like “citrus-watery,” “floral-fruity,” or “oriental-spicy,” rather than a particular perfume or brand.
