Tuesday, International Migrants Day and Jacques Pépin's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm off-season but on-project in CB I Hate Perfume M #2 Black March. Tea at the moment is Yunnan Golden Tips Organic from Upton.
Reminder: on 12/21 we're doing What's your number...wear a perfume with a number in the name, if you have one. Suggested by thegoddessrena.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Sieger by Fürstenberg Emperor's Garden porcelain teapot, with tea strainer, is about $500 at Artedona.
J.Crew No. 31 by Arquiste.
You smell nice! I have J. Crew No. 57 by Arquiste, I don’t wear it often enough!
Mmm, you smell terrific!
Many spritzes from my new Eau Egyptienne, which I’d recommend to any Giacobetti fans out there who also like unobtrusive background scents. It’s lovely – seems like it’s designed to be used more as a pillow spray or pick-me-up than a proper perfume, but does the job when generously applied. Also there’s an affordable 25 ml size, which is how it came to be a blind buy for me 🙂
I love anything Egyptian <3
I love that one, too. I keep a small bottle in my nightstand for pillow and skin!
That’s a great one!
No 5 Eau Premier
My neighbor is off to Paris and offered to pick me up some tea from Mariage Freres and anything from the french pharmacy.
For tea I usually drink black, French Breakfast and Rose de Himalaya are my favorites.
For skincare I have plenty of miceller water from Bioderma. I am looking for a face cream that is soothing and hydrating for these cold winter months. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions. Last year I got some great suggestions and someone on NST mentioned P50 toner that she picked up and it has been wonderful.
From Bioderma I really like Créaline AR and from Avène, Antirougeurs jour crème hydratante jour protectrice peaux sensibles sèches. These are good basic moisturisers that cost around € 15,-
I usually have her pick me up the AR version.
Do you have any tea recommendations?
I love Chandernagor for winter, but it’s a chai type tea and you get your chai specially made. Other favourites include Pleine Lune, Marco Polo, Wedding Impérial and Orchid Noir.
If you are interested in exploring some other French tea houses I would recommend Damman Frère’s Oolong Caramel au beurre salé and Oolong Maison de famille.
I normally wear Kiels Ultra Facial cream or La Roche Posay Lipikar or Cicaplast lotion, but both of those are available in the US, so not really worth buying in France.
true!
I forgot to ask you Cazaubon, I remember you wanted to try some Lilli Bermuda, now that I have a full bottle of Frangipani do you want me to send you a sample. Are you in the US? Let me know.
That is so sweet of you! I’m in San Diego right now. You can email me at my user name @me.com.
In the winter, I add an extra serum for moisture, and really like the Caudalie Vinosource Sorbet…(in the pink tube)…..Then I usually follow up with an Olay cream. Sephora carries it!
I may start using pure lanolin ointment on my lips at night! My lips are just terrible right now….
I use Clarins double serum and some Deciem products. But the Clarins is my favorite.
Alas, you can get it here in the states.
I am just looking for a “french beauty secret” for my friend to pick up for me from Paris. But thank you for your suggestions and good luck with those dry lips! Drink plenty of H20
Embryolisse Lait Creme is very moisturizing. Or try Bioderma Creme riche… Both are very affordable.
If you love tea tins, you might also look at the MF website — they have so many pretty tins you can’t buy here.
The MF jams are nice too, although I don’t know if I actually think they’re as nice as the price.
Wearing Kiehl’s Original Musk Blend No. 1 over the body wash and the last of my matching lotion.
A non-intrusive scent for a day of back to back to back meetings.
My husband said Kiehls Musk smelled like a bathroom cleaning product. (rolls eyes). Unbelievable.
?????
Your husband cracks me up
He is a nut. Sometimes I ask him what stuff smells like to him for a good laugh.
I love this. I do the same thing with the Marzipans.
We know all noses are different, but….my goodness.
A really GOOD smelling bathroom cleaner….HA HA 🙂
He must visit really classy bathrooms.
Definitely did NOT get bathroom cleaner when I tried that one! But that comment did make me laugh out loud.
Wait, Kiehl’s Original Musk has a number in it? Nice!
I’m sticking to my Oriza samples so I’m not on project. Wearing Marions-Nous which is a lovely aldehydic floral with a very soft drydown. And it lasts!
I’m dreaming of this gorgeous Oriza Coffret with 10-20 ml. bottles in it, miniature versions of their current bottles with tassels. Unfortunately this coffret does not exist. Still, the sample pack is a good place to start.
Now you’ve got me dreaming of that imaginary coffret. Especially one in which you can choose your scents.
That would be great and a lovely display piece. I was curious about Marions-Nous. Does it smell similar to any of the classics in that category?
Chanel No.5 although it isn’t like any Chanel at all. It’s your typical aldehydic floral where the flowers are a mixture of jasmine, rose and yang-ylang and orange blossom with a gentle animalic dry down. It reminds me of the two aldehydic florals by Nina Ricci that I own, Fleur de Fleurs and Nina. Dry down is not unlike First. Still, it’s very much its own thing and I love it.
Thank you! Sounds nice and I think I can imagine (though haven’t smelled the NRs).
oh, how lovely would that be? uh oh.. I was just thinking how I wished they sold bottles smaller than 100ml, and I see on their (finally!) revamped website they now do 50ml bottles… am I imagining this, or is this new for them?
I really like that Zoologist do the 10ml sets. Not that I’ve bought one because of shipping costs. But, you know, in theory.
That imaginary coffret could easily become a lemming. Too easily.
Theorema again! It’s just so great. Pretty far behind with my Christmas stuff…
Hmmmmm, that’s delicious stuff, especially during the holidays.
I am WAY behind, made worse by being out of town all last week. Hard to say if house will get clean and organized in time.
My house will be clean-ish (clean dishes, clean sheets, clean bathrooms, maybe not vacuumed or dusted). We’ll have 6 (3 sons plus friends) staying over Christmas Eve and Day, so I’ll just clean afterwards. I’m more concerned that I’m behind on presents…and just had a credit card compromised which makes it more complicated.
Oh no, so sorry about your credit card! Bad timing, although it’s never really a good time.
Just got a sample set in the mail so I’m wearing Atelier des Ors Musc Immortel. I may experiment with layering it over Kiehls Musk lotion, just for fun. Compared it side by side with Atelier Cologne Blanche Immortelle and they are noticeably different. The AC is my summer immortel, AdO is more of a winter immortel.
Oh – I will start setting aside any scents I have with a prominent Immortelle scent for you. My skin hates that note
Thank you, I love immortel! 🙂
Me too 🙂 At this time of year I get my fix of immortelle from Nuit Etoilee EDP.
That’s another really goid one, I have it too.
That’s another really good one, I have it too.
In winter I sometimes spritz from the husband’s PdE Fougere Bengale. Something in the drydown reminds me of Tilda Swinton Like This. It’s just not so linear, therefore more interesting to me.
Today my number is Ten, Knize Ten. 🙂
🙂
Nice! ?
Am I the only one who read that in the voice of The Count from Sesame Street??
LOLOL!! ??
Ah ah ah ah!
?♂️?♂️?♂️
“Finally the TENsion is broken!”
? Cute! I think I have a bit of a sample left of that. Must look around…
SOTD MFK Grand Soir. I have not worn it for quite a while and saw it staring me in the face this morning, so I spritz a few small sprays. My tea is my usual Stash Chai Green.
I love the Stash chai teas. They are especially good with pumpkin spice creamer and a tiny bit of half and half.
That sounds good! I love Stash teas too. Their licorice spice is one of my favorite herbal teas.
You smell fabulous!
That’s what I wore today, too! I wanted to arm myself in confidence for an early appointment with my mom at the terrific senior activity center where I’m hoping she can go three days a week while I’m teaching this spring. Fortunately, all went well! They loved her and everyone is so kind and caring, she really liked the place. I have a lot of paperwork to do, but a big weight is off my mind. They also offer a lot of advice and support to caregivers. Which I’ll definitely take advantage of.
By the way, that tea pot is beautiful!
Isn’t that pretty?
But I guess it should be for that price!
Right! wow at the prices but quite pretty
No kidding. Although the last one I posted from them was even worse:
https://nstperfume.com/2018/09/18/tuesday-scent-of-the-day-9-18/
Yikes! That’s an eye popper!
It would be pointless, I’d be afraid to touch it. My poor husband bought 2 new whiskey glasses yesterday and I broke one of them for him today 🙂
You sound like me. I should never be trusted with breakable things.
Bon Perfume 202 and 203. Thunk x2
Saved 301 and 302 for a good friend to thunk after she gets them.
Then tomorrow I have 401 and 701 and will be done with mini Marzipan’s evaporated sample set
I threw an evaporated sample of Musc Ravageur in the bathtub last night and let the warm water dissolve the distilled gunk. This is my new favorite use of evaporated samples!
Oooooh! What a good idea!
Ok, I’ve got to add my recent discovery on how to make use of evaporated samples or decants. This will work best probably with decants where you’ve sprayed all you can but still see some oily perfume around the rim that you can’t get out. Run a q-tip along there to soak up what’s left of the perfume and transfer what you can on your body and then use the q-tip to scent a drawer or storage container. I’ve got the scent of Tauer’s Tableau de Parfums Loretta scenting up a plastic storage bin of clothes and it’s wonderful!
Oooooooh!!!!! 🙂
What an ingenious idea!!
Too bad that i dont have a bathtub…Great idea!
Me neither ?
Thanks to everyone who has provided ideas on how to use evaporated samples/decants! I discovered my first one recently… I did not realize that there was a crack in my sample vial! So said sample has been quietly wafting away.
SOTD is Safari by Ralph Lauren. This one was a thrift-store find for $5. Best deal ever! Have a great day everyone!
What does that one smell like?
It’s in the same vein as Knowing – they are both green/herbal florals. The dry down is where I notice a difference; Knowing has a fruit/woods/greens note, Safari has more indoles in the mid-notes and a warmer dry down from the amber.
Nice! I have been craving Knowing for months.
Jealous. I love Safari.
Well shoot, I haven’t checked in for days (super busy ramp up at school…student energy is only matched by the excitement just before summer break) and could have actually participated in the number theme! Still, completely content in Adam Levine for Her. I guess the number theme connection is that it barely cost me any!
I love Adam Levine for Her! You smell great.
Best kind of number connection! Hope things settle down for you.
Sampling Richard Luscher Britos 44°N 03°E Causse Mejean which was composed by Andy Tauer and has the most delicious vanilla pastry drydown
Oooh, that sounds amazing. How is it?
That sounds fantastic! And lots of numbers!
Good morning Y’all!
I’m back in Mugler Angel EdT, and I’m pushing the office limits with 3 sprays. (2 on my wrists, 1 on my ugly Christmas sweater). I KNOW that I’m projecting a bit more than I usually do, and was a little self-conscious until a nurse stopped by my window and declared that the pharmacy smells soooooo good today! HA HA HA HA 🙂
I never get compliments because I usually wear so little scent, so I’m gonna enjoy this and hope the Perfume Grinch stays in his area today…. (Sorry Grinch, if I’m louder than our usual agreement…) 🙂
Too bad Grinch!
Reek away…
You are clearly spreading joy ro the world by smelling wonderful.
Smelling awesome!
I’m in Wazamba again today, five sprays, so I smell hyper great.
I wore that a couple of days ago as my scent of the evening, it is sooooo good!
Great idea! I’ll have to try it tomorrow evening.
Oh, love Wazamba. You smell wonderful.
Thank you, ringthing! ?
Happy birthday to Jacques Pepin! I used to love watching his cooking show on my local PBS station. His accent is the best.
Participating today in Amika 001 hair fragrance. I bought it because I love how Amika’s other hair products smell, but I think the scent actually works better as a shampoo than a perfume.
I liked his show too 🙂
Monsieur Pepin still has shows on PBS! At least, in the Philly area if you have cable that’s the case.
Brutally cold today, so I am wrapped in a cloud of Hermes 24 Faubourg. Smelling wonderful in such a beautiful perfume!
It is cold…brrr!
I love that one, you smell sooooo great.
Thank you KellyC! ?
I was wondering if it was time for ski socks with today’s weather! It had a bite to it.
It is horribly cold today. I am on my way home now and it is very bad. Winter is coming with all its strength! ?
It better not be bringing any White Walkers with it!
SOTD is Aftelier Alchemy. I just love this stuff and have already bought a backup bottle. I think the only “number” scents I have are a few Chanels (5, 22, and 18) and a vintage Numero Cinq.
SOTD is Musc Ravageur by Editions Frederic Malle. It is everything I was looking for in a winter scent!!
For the number project I’m thinking of Chanel 1932. Heaven…
You smell great! I love Musc Ravageur, but I feel like it wears me, rather than the other way around.
Yeah, I overdid one day and had to roll the windows down on the way to work. Potent stuff! But I love it.
Wearing La Myrrhe today and totally grasping its cult classic status. A chilly aldehydic floral with a good dose of pastis. I could spend a good amount of time with this one.
You smell beautiful.
Thank you!
Love La Myrrhe. You smell great!
I’m surprised how much I enjoy it. I do love aldehydic florals though
Atlas Obscura has a post about pastis today, I haven’t smelled La Myrrhe but it sounds wonderful.
I’m wearing Phlur’s Hanami today. I used the shower gel and enjoyed it so much I had to follow it with the matching perfume. Mmmm. Figgy.
Have a great Tuesday!
Enjoy your Tuesday as well, sistine!
My Tauer sample set didn’t arrive yesterday but hoping it arrives today or tomorrow. Little annoyed right now. Had to cancel my nephews’ Christmas gift and get something else for them. My sister’s boyfriend got them the classic Nintendo gaming system and they are not really into the retro thing yet. She got them a Nintendo Switch and asked me to get them a game for it. Had a hell of a time trying to find something appropriate for them that was going to arrive on time. I am going to wear Chanel no 5 in edt the rest of the week. I am going see if I can finish the bottle before the end of the year.
Gift buying/giving can be stressful sometimes! But you smell great!
Gorgeous teapot!
Tea of the day is coffe, accompanied by banana paleo pancakes with fresh sliced banana on top and real maple syrup! Yum!
Forgot my perfume! Holy cow?
CdG Jaisalmer. Double yum!
Mmm, pancakes with maple syrup and Jaisalmer, high five!
The combo is delicious, but I’m pretty sure the maple syrup negated any “paleo” in my breakfast. ?
What I really love is returning to the van after I’ve been out for a bit, because is has a light residual fragrance of whatever I spritzed earlier. A nice home coming ??
You’re making me hungry 🙂
Ha! Hope you found something equally as satisfying. ??
That breakfast had to be something really REALLY good for you to forget mentioning perfume! ?
Yeah, I was a bit focused on breakfast this morning ?
1) That teapot is everything, but I would never drink tea out of – just display.
2) SOTD: Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere. It is mild and very rainy today, so this fit the bill quite nice.
3) Mailed all cards, packages, deep cleaned the house for Christmas guests, have baking supplies for cookies, went to the doctor, dentist and optometrist. I am so done with everything.
Now sit back and enjoy yourself!
Yes! 🙂
Busy busy!!
You are done with everything! How lovely, enjoy your deserved rest.
In I Am Trash. Must say that I cannot get the image of the rotting vegetables out of my mind that is part of the PR for this fragrance. I am trying to imagine that the juice came out of a pretty glass flask, which helps a tiny bit. Amazing the power of suggestion. So for me this one is a no so far.
I love Jacques Pépin. My husband wooed me with Pépin recipes while we were dating, and we now own most of his books. Haven’t used them in a few years, but they have a big place in my heart.
I think that would ruin it for me too! I am SURE there are perfumes I like that, if I thought hard about it, would have some garbagey elements to them – but bringing it so sharply into consciousness seems like a real mistake.
So, I do not smell any trash or rot in this scent. I get tart strawberries that dry down to a sheer fruit salad, and then musk. But I keep imagining weird, cheap things floating in the scent and the image of rotten vegetables floating before me…
I remember I Am Trash promotional video. Fascinating, but not the type of imagery I want to associate with a perfume.
The PR for I Am Trash pretty much killed any curiosity I had about trying it. Just too much YUCK!
Today I’m in Serge Lutens Fourreau Noir, perhaps the only SL fragrance that I actually wear occasionally.
You smell wonderful, love FN.
Will probably be a week of Chanel for me. Today is 31 Rue Cambon. I don’t know why I always save this for “special” days. It’s so pretty I should wear it more.
I thought the same thing about 31 last week. It’s spectacular, really.
I ran around this morning trying to find another gift for my son. I ended up at Target, on the floor, sifting through a pile of pants, when I heard someone call my name. I looked up, and it was a girl I used to work with. I said… hey, I didn’t see you there
She said… I didn’t see you either, I smelled your perfume and found you
Ha! How awesome is that? sotd is Gucci Rush
And a big Happy 75th Birthday to Keith Richards ??????????⚫?⭕??
How cute that she found you with her nose. 🙂
It really made my morning!
?She’s my little rock’n’roll……..????????????✌
Thanks for coming to my party, Bear!??????⚪⚫?
As the toucan said, “Follow your nose!” ?
Jimmy Durante too. Lol, now that’s an obscure reference in this day and age!
Ha! Awesome ? If I ever smell Gucci Rush in the wild I’m going to call out your name (since I don’t know what you look like).?
Something like this, but curlier hair and more wrinkles ?LOL! ?
We look alike, then ? Actually, I don’t have bangs?
Oh, right… technically I don’t either, but sometimes I let my hair fall over one eye so I look like the singer for Ratt, lol! Stephen Pearcy.
I’m hoping there’s a bandana with that , lol!
Love this story, Gucci Rush and the Rolling Stones ❤️???
Awesome ????
Gucci Rush and a Ratt reference! You’re a wild child today lillyjo! ???
PS. I still haven’t started wrapping Xmas gifts. I forgot to pick up bows when I was shopping this afternoon. ?
Hey, you still got almost a whole week!
Guerlain Cologne du 68 for me today. My decant is very close to being gone, and I’m certain I’ll need more of it. Had a challenging morning before getting to work, but the day seems to be improving.
I will definitely be wearing that this week! Hope the day ended well.
What a festive teapot.
Wearing VC&A Bois d’Iris, and enjoying it, maybe partial credit as the label shows a number No 10549 on my bottle which I acquired this quarter.
Also, I tried Miller Harris Tea Tonique: Really liked it, the citrus are delicious, it’s a little spicy, it has the MH drydown signature (a little dusty) and I think I’m getting familiar with mate which is more noticeable in this scent than tea proper. Longevity quite good for this type of scent, four hours and it’s still noticeable although quite close to the skin. I find it a little expensive for what it is, a tea scent needs not cost so much, MH should have a different line of less costly scents.
Good job finding the number on the VCA, I forgot about those!
Escentric 01. Not really a scent with “rub”. But better than Molecule 02 (which I hated) and 04 (that I couldn’t smell). Escentric 03 remains my favourite. Maybe I’ll buy that one day. 2025 maybe? ?
Ok, what is “rub”?
Read about the term here on NST! https://nstperfume.com/2009/09/28/parfum-dempire-3-fleurs-fragrance-review/
LOL — how funny!
I went with 1889 by Moulin Rouge. It’s an interesting powder puff, makeup scent and is good for a cold day.
Will have to sample that. Sounds good
I should try that one, it’s histories de parfum?
Yes!
Hey LJ, Do you want a decant? Let me know..
Petunia, I would! Thank you! But I don’t think I have your email.
llombardi underscore 4 2 at the hawtmale.
I’ll be wearing PG 25, Indochine. It fits the the theme here, but it also seems appropriate for my team’s Christmas lunch, as we’re going to a Vietnamese restaurant. My morning spray will have become appropriately subtle by the time we’re eating 🙂
Enjoy your lunch. Have you tried any Curio Noir perfumes? I am tempted by the rose one.
You smell good! And well done to matching the scent to the restaurant. 🙂
Love Indochine. Enjoy the festivities!
Delicious all the way around! ☺️
That all sounds great! ?
There’s an old grave in the cemetery for a family of immigrants who must have arrived here around 1870/80. The first-born child has been given the christian name ‘Zelandia’ and I often think about…or rather, imagine….the long journey by sailing ship from Britain and then the naming of the baby in honour of the new land and new life, and wonder how it went for them. She died in 1943 which must be around 65 years old. I am the only NZ born in my family of migrants and was always curious why my parents never returned to England ( even for a holiday) once they came here. I sometimes think about how my life would have been different if they had stayed in Manchester instead of coming here. Wearing Fiele Viola and it is lovely on this grey, drizzly, muggy morning.
Very moving about the grave Kanuka, thanks for sharing. Maybe it was too painful for your parents to return, or the reverse maybe they had had enough of Manchester by the time they decided to emigrate, maybe it’s something you want to find out one day.
I have a first cousin who left Britain as a young adult and headed for New Zealand. He has since made a life for himself there, started a business and a family with the recent birth of his son. When asked about returning to Britain, he states emphatically, “No way. Never.” I don’t know if this is based on politics, economics, or just personal dislike for the country he was born in. But he’s quite sure he will never return. Interesting. No love lost for his motherland.
I find this really interesting how some immigrants go back to visit regularly and others don’t. Of course, sometimes there’s no choice because of money etc.
We go “home” every year (which means two countries since husband and I aren’t from the same one) but one of my friends here in town, same country, same age, same aged kids, hasn’t gone in many, many years. All the other friends keep one half foot firmly planted in their native soil.
SOTD = Le Labo Iris 39
I was originally going to do a no-brainer Chanel week but then someone mentioned Iris 39!
So many perfumes with numbers, so little time. Even the Tokyo Milk perfumes have numbers but no one ever really refers to the numbers.
Commuting Woes No. 619:
Yesterday, on the way home, I I stood in front of a family of 5 – 3 older teenagers and the mother were seated and the adult male was standing. they got up to leave and their seats were filthy with food crumbs! First of all, eating on the train is not allowed. Secondly, for crying out loud, these were OLDER teenagers who should have veered control over their eating habits. Thirdly, the mother set a bad example by slouching in a very crowded train, including having her legs crossed (the kids were sprawled all over their seats as well). Perhaps I should be thankful none were shaving their body hairs, picking their noses or spitting. We have gotten to the point where we are expected to be tolerant of behaviors that are frowned upon in polite society. Rant over.
It seems like your commuting woes will never cease but you smell beautiful today!
Thank you, Petunia!
I’m not sure what is the cause of the increasing lack of civility nowadays. I wonder if it’s the same everywhere, or if it’s a north american phenomenon? People seem to behave as if they are alone on the planet with no regard for others.
So so true.
Perfectly phrased…I was thinking civil but landed at polite.
Well, that’s an interesting question… there is a huge difference between human civility in California vs Oregon!
Ack! Commmuting woes are the worst! Those poor kids are guaranteed grow into obnoxious adults. ??
Sad but true!
Back when I/we were kids, if a student put his feet on a chair, the teacher would say– do you put your feet on the furniture at home? The student would say no. Today that answer would be yes.
That is sooooo true!
At least nobody was kicking your seat! That seems to happen to me far too often when I fly.
I get the equivalent of kicking 1 out of 3 times when taking the older trains (I.e. Not the double-deckers).
I’ve only been on the double-deckers a couple of times. They are NICE! Even better if you get one with a limited stop schedule.
Nr 21 Felanilla, which i am liking more and more. The top notes smell a bit like the old bandaids to my, which i think is fun. Must be the saffron.
Now wearing a small spray of Theo Fennel. Boyfriend will complain soon…
I kinda get what you’re saying about the top notes but thank goodness I don’t make that scent association. Felanilla snuck up on me too. I really enjoy it.
I LOVE Theo Fennell Scent and have been wearing it a lot lately, glad to know I’m not alone! I rarely see it mentioned anymore.
I even have a Backup bottle, because i got them so cheap…. 20€ each! Will last for my Lifetime ?
Theo Fennel is a no for me!
Clear but cold and a bit blustery, so keeping warm in PdE Cuir Ottoman (and many layers of clothing). Yum.
Yum indeed!
So good! You smell wonderful.
Cuir Ottoman is wonderful!
Here’s a week I can participate in! In Chanel 22, generous amounts, because I was clumsy with the little sampler vial.
Succumbed to a blind buy the other day: used half of my theoretical “footlocker money” (=the gift card from the race) to buy a bottle of Climat by Lancome, because I read in some reviews for Amouage Dia that it’s a similar scent. Here’s to hoping! If not, I may just have to host a split come next split meet.
Good luck, hope you will love it!
Twins with Eschmeling in No. 22. Mine is from a vintage cologne spray.
Packages are wrapped, mailed, Christmas tips disbursed, holiday concerts sung, baking for others done. Today I’m doing laundry, making cream puffs or eclairs just for me, and maybe going for a pedicure. Then I am doing nothing except reading until Christmas Eve when I’ll join good friends in Sacramento.
That teapot is gorgeous but not $500 worth of gorgeous. Maybe $50, and I’d like it better without the bird.
Lol, sounds like you want a different teapot!
Twins in more way than one – also done with all xmas singing, though nothing has been baked, but plenty of reading to do to finish book (The Wang vs the world) for bookclub Thursday. Methinks I need to check eBay for Chanel 22 vintage – I did quite enjoy it today.
HdP 1725 this evening, after the gym. A small sideways step from the other aromatic fougere I was wearing this morning: Yohji Homme. Both have a bit of a twist on the classical and have different weights but there are some interesting overlaps, particularly the shared licorice note. The 1725 (Casanova) has more lavender than the re-issued YH. I seem to remember the original YH having more than this.
(p.s. thank you for the kind thoughts about my cat the other day. She’s recovering really well now, which is a fantastic surprise.)
????
Great! Another kitty success story! ???
Kitty Cat Power! ?
SmellBent 1997 thanks to Cazaubon!!
This stuff is fabulous-I am in the dry down now and it has alittle sweetness that is wuiet. This is. Supposed to be for Hubby but We may have to share!!
Had a(nother) doctor’s appointment this morning so didn’t have a sotd until I got home a while ago – Zoologist Camel, which I like but wish it lasted longer. Forgot about the CP, I’ll try and pick a number tomorrow 🙂
Hope the appointment went well. I have to retry Camel…something about it bugged me.
I’m wearing FM’s Iris Poudre – my #2 favorite from the brand (can we count it as a part of the CP?).
Busy week but I try to at least read people’s comments here. I wish you all to stay calm and finish Christmas preparations in time to relax for the holiday.
I hope that your busy week gives you a few moments to relax and catch your breath.
Mmmmm. I think I’m in trouble with holiday stuff. I better wrote a plan for Friday!
write not wrote!
I started thinking about how much I enjoyed all of the white flowers (from a couple of projects back) in winter (instead of my usual summer wearing), so I reached for M Micallef Gardenia today.
It surprised me how well white flowers work in cold weather the first time I tried it!
Another sunny cold day here! I’ll take full advantage of that bright shiny thing for as long as I can. ???
Pixel kitty continues to heal up. She is running around the house at full speed now, and getting into a fair amount of mischief. There is almost no hissing from the other 2 cats now.
SOTD = JM Myrrh & Tonka. THUNK goes that decant!
So glad to hear that Pixel kitty is recovering fast!
Thumbs up for another THUNK! You smell great!
Thank you! Myrrh & Tonka has been helping me warm up the pat few days.
Things are pretty much ‘normal’ then for the kitties! That’s awesome. ??
Hope you get some warmth with that sun tomorrow!
It would be great if things warmed up a bit, but having the wind go away would be even better!
I had sun today, so maybe you will get some tomorrow too. I’m happy Pixel Kitty is healing up well!
Sun is in the forecast! Pixel is definitely back to her sassy self. The other cats are learning this little by little.
Congrats on the thunk! Glad Pixel kitty is doing well. And it was brrrr brrrr cold today!
Agree on the brrrr brrrr cold! My hands weren’t happy even with gloves on. Might be time to bring out the heavy gloves!
Go, Pixel kitty, go! That JM sounds really good. Everyone seems to like it, even if they’re not big JM fans in general.

I am late posting today. Busy day bringing parents for a doctor’s appointment, then lunch, then shopping at the local mall. It was crazy and fun being at the mall at Christmastime. After shopping my Dad wanted some frozen yogurt. When we walked into yogurt shop, the lady behind the counter said “chocolate & vanilla swirl, right??” My parents go there a lot, lol. After that, it was the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions — mine and theirs. My Mom bought a dancing Snoopy dressed as a reindeer, and put it in my bag. He’s a cute surprise.
It is so quiet now. I am drinking some peppermint tea.
You smell like Christmas today! ?
Thanks 🙂
Your post warmed my heart!
Thanks. Your reply made me smile 🙂 My parents are getting up in age. Its hard to watch them age, and I am treasuring this time with them.
Sounds like a wonderful day! ?? for pepemint tea, surprises, and family!
Thanks Deva 🙂 It really was a good day.
