It's Hump Day and French Toast Day. Birthdays: Jon Stewart, Martin Clunes. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm going with L’Artisan Parfumeur Skin on Skin.
Reminder: 11/30 will be Renegades Friday...wear a perfume by Mark Buxton, Bertrand Duchaufour or Geza Schoen, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

French toast and Jon Stewart – two of my favorite things! SOTD is Chanel 19 EDP.
I wish Jon Stewart would bring me some French Toast!
LOL
French toast, Jon Stewart, AND Chanel no. 19! Three of my favorite things 😉
You smell awesome!
OJ Woman. This one always reminds me of home. I think that’s why I like it so much.
Yesterday on a whim, I emailed OJ customer service to ask if one could customize their own travel lab set that is offered on the website. I got a response back within a few hours, and guess what? You can!?
I loooooove OJ Woman. I’ve been wearing it quite a bit lately now that it’s cooling off some. You smell gorgeous!
That’s so exciting that you can customize. What are you going to get?? Do tell!
Thanks! It really is so good.
Well, I already have a 10 ml decant of this one so I’m good on Woman. I also love Champaca and Osmanthus. Then maybe Frangipani, Ta’if and Tolu…..I still have a handful of OJ samples from Luckyscent I need to try.
You smell maahhhhvelous!
Thank you SheriG, I know you love this one too!
You smell awesome!
Thanks Jiji!
Half-twins! And also kind of time shifted/delayed half-twins regarding Tolu which you wore yesterday. 🙂
(I am wearing both Woman and Tolu today.)
Hey half twin! You smell great! Woman and Tolu are both so good, and perfect this time of year.
Hey, that’s great news!
I agree!?
Whhhaaaaattt?! That’s awesome!!! Thanks for finding that out!
I know, right!? Like my mom always says “ it never hurts to ask.”?
Good news! Useful information!
?
I am wearing Burberry Brit Gold – I love the gingery note. I layered with a orange & clove body butter from Trader Joe’s (special from last year during the holidays). I sure hope they do that body butter again, or I will have to find a suitable substitute.
Oh that is such a nice one!
That sounds wonderful! I think I will join you, layering it over my new gingerbread spice lotion from B&BW.
No Trader Joe’s near me but B&BW is right around the corner and gingerbread spice lotion sounds really nice!
Sounds like a great combo!
I’m wearing Escentric 03, which is very aromatic. It is supposed to feature vetiver, but I think at this stage it is very cedar forward.
Today it’s a winter favorite by BD, Vanille Absolument aka Havana Vanille. I love the narcissus note–which is actually more prominent in warm weather. Why oh why was it discontinued?! It’s a beauty.
I am still mad that Havana Vanille was discontinued.
It’s a puzzle. You’d think it would be such a huge crowd pleaser.
Le Lebo’s Rose 31 shower gel and body lotion. I don’t even need to spritz the perfume now…the body care products are potent enough on their own.
… and now go quickly back to your French lesson! 😉
Mmm, you smell good
Good to know the body products are potent, as I love Rose 31. You smell great today.
SotD = Myrrh Eglantine
The potted Mister Lincoln rose on my back patio surprised me with a bloom this morning. It is very fragrant in the cold air. The rose note in ME is mingling nicely with the real thing.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, perfumed peeps!
Love all, trust a few,
Do wrong to none:
be able for thine enemy
Rather in power than use,
and keep thy friend
Under thy own life’s key:
be cheque’d for silence,
But never tax’d for speech.
You smell great. I drained my sample of that one but I don’t need a full bottle.
Oh how lovely to get a bloom in November!
So very cool that your rose bush bloomed this late in the year! ?
Giving Dzongkha the old college try, since it’s one of Duchaufour’s most beloved… I struggle with this one because a sample once leaked all over my L’Artisan mini-drawer, and so every time I wore L’Artisan for like a year my fingers picked up traces of Dzongkha which always, in the usual fashion of perfumes you don’t really like, seemed to smell stronger than whatever I was actually wearing. I’ve taken a long break though and now that I’m wearing it voluntarily, I do like it, though I fear it will never be love for me.
Oh no, that’s such a shame. I’m sorry that Dzongka overpowered all of those other perfumes. You smell lovely, however.
I love that one–but I have to be in the mood for sure.
Dzongkha should be a joy for me, but it always ends up being a bit of a scrubber. There’s something about it that I just can’t take, despite loving the list of notes.
Good morning Y’all…..Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr……I’d rather be hiberating, but here we are….
Wearing a forgotten sample of Neela Vermiere Mohur. Very nice and elegant to my nose!
Spent about an hour digging thru my samples for the Friday challenge, so by the time I got to bed, I had dabbed or sprayed on at least 6 goodies. About an hour later my hubs crawled into bed and started laughing….and said, “WHAT ARE YOU WEARING? It smells like a bordello in here! ” HA HA HA HA HA I had on some potent goodies: Alien Eau Extraordinaire, Tresor Midnight Rose, and so forth….I have to say, this morning I smelled pretty amazing!
How does the hubs know what a bordello smells like anyway????? 🙂
An excellent question – have you asked him? 😉
I did! LOL He just double talked and said it smelled like me! 🙂
Maybe I should wear Putain de Palaces tonight so he knows what he’s talking about?
Lol great idea 😀
Hahah OMG….
There is a bordello a few doors away from my house, but I dont want to know what is smells like. Hahaha.
I’m glad he was laughing! I sometimes get some backchat from the hubster for wearing fragrance to bed, too. I wear it anyway. ?
I am having cinnamon raisin toast, not exactly french toast, but I get points.
I am reading the New Yorker this morning, and the Shouts & Murmurs are my favorite section. This week, they have it on “Explaining US Holidays to Extraterrestrails”
I have to share this one since its hysterical:
New Year’s Eve: Human life is terribly short, so on this day we celebrate staving off death for another revolution around the sun. Lots of people smash their mouths together and drink poison. Our nation’s largest clump of people drops a big, shiny ball that costs more than a million dollars—and it’s not even a bomb!
Vanilla tea this morning, if any makes it into my mouth since I keep laughing.
That’s funny ?
Haha! Thanks for sharing. Life is absurd.
It is!
The others are funny also
Sotd is Vitrum, Sammarco.
Received very sad news about my father in law. He was diagnosed years ago with leukaemia, but they were able to control it so far. But it has transgressed and he probably has no more than a few weeks, a month or so left. Sad times. Just like last year (when my mom was in ICU) christmas time will be uncanny and uncertain – even if he makes it to the end of December…
We are sad, but I hope we will be given enough time to enjoy his company, arrange things and talk the important things over.
Hug your loved ones everyone, life is too short!
I’m so sorry, Jiji, for this sad news and for a second difficult holiday season. All my hope and prayers for a sweet time together with him and the family these next few weeks.
I am very sorry Jiji. My thoughts and prayers with you and the rest of the family. I hope that whatever time is left is full of love, unity and peace. Hugs!
Oh, Jiji, so sorry to hear this. Sending you hugs and comfort for you and your family.
Jiji, I am sorry for this difficult news for your family. I hope you all enjoy what time you have together.
I’m so sorry Jiji. That is so hard, especially this time of year. You are right that there is a comfort in being able to make sure that everything has been said, and things are in order for later. HUGS!
I am very sorry Jiji. Hugs for you and your family during this difficult time.
I’m so sorry, Jiji. Hugs to you and your family.
Sterkte!
I am so sorry to hear this. Prayer for you and your family.
I am very sorry to hear this about your FIL. I hope you have lots of loving, meaningful moments together before he passes.
I am thinking of you and your family. I hope you are able to arrange everything necessary and savor the remainder of your time with your father in law.
Jiji, I wish you and your loved ones all the strength you’ll need to go through these awful times.
Gah. Cancer. Very very sorry. I hope his final weeks/months are filled with love and family.
Such sad news Jiji, sometimes the holidays turn out to be very difficult.
I hope you can spend some peaceful time with your father in law. Wishing you well.
I am very sorry to hear this.
In some cases (in mine for certain) we are closer to our in laws then we are to our own family. But I know plenty of friends who can’t stand their in laws.
Sending you healing thoughts!
Maybe some retail therapy will help? I know you love to shop
I’m so sorry, Jiji for this news. Hugs.
Sorry for the bad news – it sounds to me like you and your family will make sure his final weeks are meaningful and comfortable. I hope he is not in pain!
I’m so sorry to hear this. Sending you and your family hugs during this difficult time.
I’m so sorry. You and your family are in my thoughts.
Adding more sympathy and good wishes, Jiji, that is really hard.
My sympathies, Jiji, on your father in law’s situation. I hope that he isn’t in any pain. Sending thoughts of peace and strength to you and your family.
I am so very sorry JiJi, that is such difficult news at the most challenging timeof the year.
I hope that you all find strength, love and peace somehow.
Jiji, I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope you and your family can find solace in his last few weeks/months as you reminisce together and say anything that needs to be said. Take care.
A few spritzes of Ta’if today with some of the body lotion. Reeking rose.
So tempted to celebrate French Toast day using the Trader Joe’s cinnamon raisin bread….
You smell wonderful!
???Ta’if ???
You smell beautiful.
Love Ta’if! You smell wonderful!
OJ Tolu on left arm and OJ Woman on right arm – both by Geza Schoen.
You smell great, Glannys! I was wearing OJ Woman yesterday, and it really is a tremendous scent.
Thank you! I like Tolu, but I love OJ Woman!
Half twins lol. I’m in Tolu.
Ormonde Jayne scents are quite popular today. 🙂 I tried Tolu only a few days ago and I am enjoying it a lot.
Another half twin, I’m wearing Ormonde Woman!
We smell gorgeous!
SOTD is the Smell of Weather Turning. Not by any of this weeks featured noses, but I think it fits the theme of renegade nonetheless.
It does fit that theme and you smell great! I like that one a lot.
Sure does!
Providence Perfume Co. Ivy Tower. I was craving something green today.
Yum! Those oils are something.
First day back at work after Thanksgiving, and it’s going to be a very long day. We’re doing a system switch that will affect the public, and I’ll be in the “war room” all day to help communicate with employees about what’s going on. Wearing Queen of the Night. I need to wear it more often because my decant is evaporating. Ugh evaporating decants, am I right?
Discovered the cold, dried corpse of my Caligna decant just this morning ?
Hate finding evaporated decants. It has really discouraged me from buying more. I know I won’t finish a full bottle, but at the same time I can be confident it will last for many years, so I continue buying bottles.
Boo to evaporating decants! It’s really a pity that more perfume houses don’t offer smaller sizes.
SOTD is Paestum Rose (by BD) which I can’t smell all that much because it’s so cold and windy today. But when I can smell it, I like it!
Both you and Koyel smell great. PR was my first BD purchase. It’s a wonderful rose and very airy in spite of the myrrh.
Thank you! I like it’s weightlessness too, but unfortunately it got buried under layers today.
You smell wonderful! PR was one of my first niche roses that I fell in love with.
Thanks! It’s a nice one and glad I got this decant in the last swap meet.
I smell wonderful in Eau d’Italie Paestum Rose, thanks to the swapmeet! <3 BD. I'll be very sad when my decant runs dry.
Last night, the boyfriend had an udon craving, so we got some from a sushi place down the street from us that's always been meh and overpriced but very convenient. The udon was really bad, so I wrote a negative review on Yelp, whereupon the restaurant owner let loose the most vituperative response I've ever seen, one you'd never expect in any kind of professional setting, especially one as customer facing as a restaurant! I reported her ad-hominem attacks and threats (she threatened to call the police on me and sue me for libel, I think), and I do hope Yelp will take action, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. I reread my review to make sure I hadn't accidentally said something unfair, and nope, looks like a pretty standard two-star review (which I obviously downgraded to one star after her responses). I even read through past reviews, and there were plenty of two-star reviews that didn't receive such vitriol. Someone said their udon was an u-don't, and yet my review was the one worthy of irrational wrath?
Anyway, I’m a little worried because I ordered through Grubhub, so she knows my address, so if anything happens to me, you know where to look first.
That sounds awful, at least you smell great!
Thank you! 🙂
Yikes. There must have been something else going on in their life that spurred them to overreact like that. Sorry you had such a bad experience!
That’s what I figured. In fact (and I know this isn’t really in the spirit of all you lovely people on NST), reminding myself that there was probably some external reason why she was acting like that, and knowing that she must feel worse than I did, is what helped me get to sleep.
That’s a very healthy internal response to a shocking incident, I’m glad you didn’t lose sleep over it. And of course you smell fabulous today 🙂
Heh, thanks, ringthing 🙂
I hope Yelp has a constructive response. Save copies/screenshots of the restaurant owner’s reply for future protection, which hopefully won’t be necessary.
Oh I did! I did it because I thought she might be ashamed of herself and delete her response, but since she doubled down and threatened legal action, I decided it would be good to have proof
That’s disturbing for sure.
I know, right? I’m comforted knowing I’m in the right, though.
For real!
That’s unnerving for sure. Maybe it was the pressure cooker thing where after other negative reviews, yours was the one to finally cause her to explode? Who knows, but sad that some businesses can’t use criticism to improve and need to be defensive. It hurts them more in the end, especially when other people can see how they responded to you.
I’ve left a couple of negative reviews and got a full refund from a hotel stay that was deeply unsatisfying and an offer for a free meal in a restaurant that had bad service (they completely forgot about me-1 of about 4 other customers) because the wait staff were busy on their cell phones and I had to get up and interrupt every time I needed something. Point being, sometimes the business listens.
And of course you smell great, twin!
Wearing my Avignon decant and looking for a full bottle in my future. Got the puppy spayed yesterday and couldn’t post. Still wiped out from the anxiety from the surgery.
Hopefully she is recovering well and your nerves are abating.
I love Avignon. You smell wonderful.
Best wishes for your pup’s recovery! She’s gonna be sore for a while after that.
Wearing Ormonde Woman which used to be the most recommended fragrance during Monday Mail. It’s good and I’m about halfway through my bottle, don’t know whether I will repurchase as the price has almost doubled since.
Tried Carat again today, it is very lovely, just a tad linear but I might end up with a small bottle eventually.
You smell great.
And so do you!
Has it? Oh, now I’m really proud of myself for investing in an FB while it was still just regular expensive.
I think I spent around 70 euro’s on my bottle (50 ml). I’m glad I got mine when I did. I got that one and Frangipani which is one of the most resolutely cheerful fragrances in my collection.
Lol at “regular expensive.”
Wearing Jour d’Hermes for a special training day at work that has me nervous.
Hope all goes well! You smell calm and collected. 🙂
Hope the Hermes works to calm you.
Hope it went better than expected jirish!
I’m wearing Eau Duelle today – I love it, but I feel it needs to be below 40 F to wear it without it wearing me, and it rarely gets that cold here. However, today is sunny and chilly and perfect Eau Duelle weather!
My sister-in-law is going to Japan and very sweetly offered to bring me back a bottle of perfume. I know nothing about the Japanese perfume scene – does anyone have any recommendations for special perfumes I should look into that are not easily available in North America or Europe?
Shiseido has some Japanese exclusive scents. I believe White Rose and Murasaki are two, there may be others.
Do they still produce Murasaki? I wore this in the 80ies, liked it much better than Feminite du Bois, which i also had from Shiseido. And i had one of those Lutens eyeshadows with half black- half dark pink!!!!
I have to look in Japan for Murasaki, when i am traveling there in march
I’m in Tolu today and loving every second. This is one of my fav OJs.
I may or may not be too caffeinated….I had a Starbucks reward to use and got a venti Americano with an extra shot. To say I’m energetic at the moment would be an understatement! Woo hoo! I’ll let you know how it’s working out for me at about 2:00 though! 😀
You smell great!
I am feeling extremely satisfied this morning. My holiday present to myself was to give donations to every organization I wanted to give to. Usually I cut it down to three or four, but yesterday I made eight sizable (for us!) donations to my favorite charities. Still have not paid off the credit cards—but that will come.
Duchaufour, eh? One of my favorites! I could easily go for two weeks wearing his perfumes alone. Haven’t put on perfume yet (wanted to check the CP), but am thinking about Nuit de Tubereuse…
Yesterday I went a little crazy spraying my Lilac Love sample. Not recommended. At those concentrations it is weirdly a metallic floral. But then it mellowed and smoothed, and by the end of the day I could hardly pull my wrist away from my nose. Cocoa powder, skin, and rose jam.
That’s a really good present. Without getting into the politics are most of the organisations local (Californian) or international?
Since I was just “going for it” I hadn’t thought about any themes. This year my donations are not terribly political. Looking at my list, 4 orgs are not only in California but are within 100 miles of my home (breast cancer, cancer camp, digital divide in poorer communities, and a school) and earlier in the month I contributed to the LA fire dept and my local public radio station–so that is a lot of California, 2 are national (fighting racism, and fighting a brain disorder), and 2 are international (human rights and MSF). But now I have thought of several more–next pay check perhaps. 🙂
We also donate to MSF
That’s a great mix.
I’m on my second 100 ml bottle of NdT!
I meant to do that yesterday when there were lots of matching programs, but did not get to it until today — luckily a few orgs are doing matching even today. We do not give large sums but even giving small amounts of money to organizations I care about is really satisfying.
But I am flabbergasted at how many organizations still do not take paypal donations! Get with it people!
It’s still raining! Feels like week 3 of murk and now two takahe chicks at the local bird ecosanctuary have died from the wet which is pretty sad as there are only 345 takahe in the world. These birds were thought to be extinct in the 1880s but then were rediscovered in the 1940s in a remote mountain range. They are actually a bit bland as birds go, they potter about (flightless) doing their thing ( eating). I think I may be focussed on birds at the moment as I am reading Jonathan Franzen’s essays The End if the End of the World which is pretty birdy in scope. I saw that the creator of Sponge Bob died yesterday at the age of 57. I watched a lot of sponge bob when my son was small.
Right, time to get up! JM Snowdrop and moss…lasts better when sprayed on my jumper. The spice aspect comes through. Happy toast day!
http://nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/south-island-takahe
Aww my daughter loved SpongeBob and I enjoyed it too….57 is young.
“they are actually a bit bland as birds go…” that made me smile. I’m sure you’ve seen “the big year?” (I don’t know if this is like asking a perfumista if they’ve heard of Chanel).
I have never heard of it so will have a look, thanks. Pecking Order is a great documentary about the annual NZ poultry show, if you like films combining hens and politics
My son was very sad about Mr. Spongebob. Now I am sad about your birds that I have never even heard of.
I was a little saddened when I heard about the passing of Stephen Hillenburg. I haven’t seen many Sponge Bob Square Pants episodes, but a few of them I had seen made me laugh like a fool. Almost as good as Road Runner cartoons!
That’s sad about the chicks, but the good news is that while 345 is a small number, it is not too small to save a species. The whooping cranes in North America were found to be down to just over 20 individuals in the early 1940s when conservation efforts began to save them. There are now estimated to be around 800. They are still endangered, of course, but at least they are increasing in number.
I’m in Ummagumma because cazabon mentioned it yesterday and because I love it.
It was quite incensey on me in the drydown, just a tiny bit of chocolate on the opening. You smell great!
Exactly the same on me! ??
It’s not too warm where you are at to wear Ummagumma?
Rainy and cool in the 60’s.!
We’re twins, Robin, I was on a boozy perfume kick some time back and I do enjoy SOS time to time, I like that the sweetness is quite controlled.
Yay, hey twin!
I’m in Ormond Jayne Ta’if and dreading the upcoming insanity of the winter season in Jackson Hole. Jammy spicy rose is my forcefield today.
I live near the beach in San Diego, same madness here except in the summer. My sympathies to you.
Grandiflora Queen of The Night is my BDSOTD. ? Can that be a thing?! I really still love this. I could wear it all the time. I may need it once my decant is gone.
I will catch up on all your remarks as soon as I get the paperwork completed for today!
Stay warm!
Good luck on the paperwork AngelaB!
Popped by here earlier and forgot to post my SOTD – it’s Alyssa Ashley Musk.
I forgot too..I am too busy with my New Yorker…
Thank you all for your supporting and healing words regarding my dog Yey. The first 24 hours went well. I am waiting for the results of blood tests in the next couple of hours. If they come up fine and he shows improvement in the next 24 hours, he will go back home tomorrow. Complications with his pancreas and liver are still expected in the next couple of weeks and even months. It will not be easy, but I pray and hope for a good outcome.
Jury duty day for me today and who knows for how many more days. Crossing fingers I do not get selected. Wrapped in another cloud of lavender essential oil. Patience! Hope to get back to my fumes soon!
Good luck with everything!!
You are smelling beautiful in pure lavender essential oil…in some ways being a renegade yourself 😉
Thank you CM8!. I applied the oil undiluted and I still can smell it on my skin. It helped me so much to endure a long day. Jury duty is over! I was not chosen!
Thank you for the update on your puppy. Sending you both (hugs).
I’m sure he can’t wait to get back home with you! ??
Thank you Gail. I visited him a while ago and he got anxious when he could leave with me. I hope he can be back home tomorrow.
Prayers for the easiest recovery! He has an interesting name- where does it come from?
Thank you ElisaP!
Yei is a rescued dog and that was his name when I adopted him. I didn’t change it because like you, I found it interesting and unusual. I wish I knew why he was given that name by his previous owners.
Glad things are looking good so far, crossing fingers he can home tomorrow!
Thank you Cazaubon. Looking forward to it!
Thank you for the update, and hope jury duty goes well!
Jury duty is over, thanks God!
Great news so far on Yei. Fingers crossed that you get more of the same! ?
I’m sending you my “No Jury Duty”mojo. Hope it works for you. ?
It worked!! I was not selected! Hoping for better news!
Good Luck PL67! I know that he will be fine and so happy to be back home with you that you will have to work hard to keep him still! They are so resilient and smarte for all that they have been through. Hugs to you both!
Thank you Angela B!
PL67, I somehow missed your doggo’s illness! I’m so sorry and hope Yey recovers painlessly. He has a fabulous name to live up to! ✌?
Thank you Deva! He is 14 years old and the healing process will be longer. I hope he recovers and get back to normal.
Was going to wear Mohur today but went with CdG edp again. It was so cold this morning and all those spices feel warm 🙂
Love that CdG! You smell awesome!
A bit of something luminous for today – Grandiflora Queen of the Night
Hey twin!
😀
Not in the mood for my two scents, which would fit the CP, as i don’t like them in cold weather (Timbuktu and Eccentric Molecule 01 are summer scents for me)
So wore the last of a sample of Lipstick On by Margiela. Got not as much lipstick and powder than the last try and was just a tad too sweet.
But the sample is thunked!
Got some Papillon Salome from a split and just a drop smells really strong. Such a great animalic chypre…. Boyfriend was not enthusiastic. I think my 5ml will last the whole winter.
My husband doesn’t get this either. Every time I wear it I’m like “smell me and die of happiness!” and he’s like, “eh”. He is not shy of strong scents, either (he loves Rhinoceros) so his failure to swoon for Salome is a great mystery.
You smell divine !
SOTD is Ta’if by OJ. Too busy to post more. I hope everyone is having a good day!
We are house twins, and you smell great!
I hope that your day went well, Petunia!
Vetiver 46 today! Thank you, Mr. Buxton.
Going to Goodwill later today with a buddy, hoping to find a treasure. It’s senior day, so we get 15% off. ?
I hope you NST folks are having a good day!
I went thrift shopping recently and bought $100 worth of clothes and just as I was starting to feel a little guilty the cashier said, “and it’s half off day, so that will be $50”. I love thrift stores.
Oh, now that’s a jackpot day at the thrift store! I love the thrill of the hunt.
Any luck at Goodwill?
Actually, yes…a pair of black jeans (Lee jeans always work for me), a hoodie, three short sleeve gym shirts and two long sleeved shirts that will be great for layering.
Do you know, there was a fur coat for $99 and two leather jackets on the coat rack?? Amazing. Did not need or want them, but they will be a great find for someone.
Cool!
I’m always a bit envious of those who can find things at thrift shops. I don’t know whether other areas have better thrift shops than we have here, or if I am just hard to please, as I consistently find nothing. Of course, everything is always too short on me (I am 5’9″), as I never find tall sizes in thrift shops. I see plenty of jeans, for example, but they are always short or average inseams.
I feel your pain. I’m 5’8”, and don’t often find jeans that are long enough. I tried on ~15 pairs of jeans and pants today, and found one pair that fit right. It’s a struggle!
In a now thunked vial (thanks swapmeet extra!) of Rahele. I liked Niral better – this has a mild “cologne” note to me that I don’t really appreciate. I wish I had better olfactory vocabulary to identify what that note is!
Oh, also, don’t ever forget two ripe avocados in your work bag over thanksgiving break….
Haha! Oy. Must smell great ? I remember in high school I left a green bell pepper in a bag in my locker for probably a month until I noticed the smell was coming from MY locker. Oof, that was bad.
More Rahele for me! I have the same issue with Niral . ?
Your avocado experience sounds a little like what happened with my blueberries today, except that I ate a few that were perhaps a little moldy before I realized they were bad. I just started popping them in, swallowed and didn’t sense the taste until it was too late! Ugh!
I’m sampling JHAG Liquid Illusion today. There seems to be a lot going on here and it’s good in colder weather. The sample didn’t look blue, the way the bottle looks online.
It’s gray, wet, and gloomy here so I am cheering myself up in the lemon-lime goodness of April Aromatics’ Ray of Light. Plus Bertie Wooster is sleeping on my lap.
Aww… kitty cuddles. 🙂
?❣
What a fantastic mix!
No SOTD for me today. Went to the gym and just back from a walking round of golf, well, 9 holes plus a replay of 3 for a total of 12 holes. Not sure if they are common here, but my brother-in-law saw an armadillo on one of the holes.
I need a foot massage but that won’t happen so I will have to settle for a bubble bath and will probably spray on some Vol de Nuit for bedtime.
I guess Vol de Nuit is the next best thing!
Posting late today! So far, this has been a weird week. Not quite sure what is going on, just that things feel a little “off”.
SOTD = back in Dior Poison Girl EdT. The sample is still with me, and even spritzed better than it did yesterday. Hopefully this one won’t be one of those samples that takes forever to use the last little bit of.
Sorry things are off… hope it will get back to normal before the week is out.
SOTD this morning was PPC Branch & Vine; I am trying to decide whether I “need” a FB of this. I could use a light, not overpowering scent that is not a citrus EdC, for all the hot weather in this part of the woods. SOTD for the afternoon was PPC Love-in-a-Mist. I am not sure I like this enough to buy a bottle, but I wish I did, as I love the name.
SOTE is April Aromatics Liquid Dreams, from the bottle that just arrived today. This was a not-exactly-blind buy, as I had a sample before, but I couldn’t remember what it smelled like, only that I really liked it. Fortunately, I still really like it, so I expect to wear it quite often. I think this will be another one good for warm weather.
I really liked Branch & Vine, and like you, was “eh” on the Love in a Mist. Which of course means now I think I need to buy Liquid Dreams even though I’ve never smelled it 🙂
I’ll have to read everyone’s comments, it has been so intense at work lately I have to remember to breathe! But breathe I will tonight, my samole of Hyde arrived today. I’ve been so excited to try it. On first swipe, I was a bit scared…very smoky. In just a few minutes the smoke softens and some sunshine starts to peak through. I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes…
SOTD = NVC Mohur EDP
I’ll take a vat of this and the extrait!
A while back, I inadvertently turned my sister towards more mainstream perfumes in lieu of scented goodies from Dawn Spencer Hurwitz – see the 3rd story in this link to the post in Undina’s blog:
https://undina.com/2014/05/31/are-you-a-perfume-extrovert-or-introvert/
This past weekend, my sister told me that she sold off her perfume collection and will revert back to using DSH scents exclusively. Having learned my lesson, I gave her the sparkle2018 discount code (thank you Holly) and she was able to get 20%. I have yet to place my order but will do so shortly as Upstate Moonbeam sounds fantastic!
I have 2 calls tonight with Asia colleageues and will read the comments later.
Eeeek! The name of the perfume is Uptown Moonshine (not Upstate Moonbeam)!
Oh gosh, this made me laugh! Thank you auto correct!
It was actually a brain fart ???
Hajusuuri, you’re getting a lot of fart action lately?
🙂 🙂 🙂
I have a lot of those at my age!
Hi everyone. Today marks thirty years since I lost my father. December will be 7 years since I lost my mother. I’m just heartbroken today. I hurt for what was, and for what never was. I miss them so much. I know alot of you are going through sad times too, and I truly am sending all my love and healing wishes. ❤
Sad anniversaries are the hardest ones to bear, IMO. Hugs. ?
Thanks Jalapeno, a big hug back to you ?
I send you the same Lillyjo. Cherish your memories, keep them alive & close to you.
The holidays really bring it all to the forefront, do you have little customs or habits of theirs that you can do in memory of them to keep you company? We do those things all the time at my house- silly or serious it really helps.
Thank you. Yes, I do try to keep their memory alive. Especially when I yell out old fashioned sayings to my kids, just to confuse them? my favorite of my mothers was “sorry fell in the paint bucket and died” lol
lillyjo, you have a good heart and wonderful soul which honors you, and your parents. ?
And thanks for making me CRY !!! ??
?
???✌?
Aww Bear, now I’m going to recry! ❤✌
Sending you hugs lillyjo.
Thank you, Gail.
Big hugs to you, lillyjo. The years passing does not lessen the pain. Your memories of them live through who and how you are.
Oh gosh, so sorry! This can be such a difficult time of year for so many people. Sending big hooman and doggo hugs to you ?
My thoughts with you Lillyjo. Sending love, peace, comfort and love. ❤
sending love your way, lillyjo xxoo
