Another daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 2 November 2018 21 Comments

In case you did not already spend all your pennies on the red Chanel No. 5, here are Chanel's new body oils, reportedly developed for the Ritz Paris Spa: L'Huile Jasmin, L'Huile Rose, L'Huile Vanille and L'Huile Orient. L'Huile Jasmin ("Enriched with Helianthus Annuus Flower Oil for sensorial richness and compatibility with skin, L’HUILE JASMIN body oil nourishes, moisturizes and infuses skin with revitalizing properties. The floral, sensual and sunny sweetness of Grasse Jasmine unfurls over a soft, musky and enveloping woody base. The smell of Grasse fields in the summer."), L'Huile Rose ("...L’HUILE ROSE body oil nourishes, moisturizes and infuses skin with revitalizing properties. The slightly fruity springtime scent of Rose blossoms over a woody base with notes of White Musk. As fresh as the morning dew in Grasse."), L'Huile Vanille ("...along with Vanilla Planifolia — the iconic signature of CHANEL SUBLIMAGE skincare — L’HUILE VANILLE body oil nourishes, moisturizes and infuses skin with revitalizing properties. A fresh bouquet evoking Lime Blossoms and Lily of the Valley melts into an accord of sweet Musk, Gourmand Vanilla and Amber. Tinged with childhood memories, the sweetness enwraps the body in a delicious cocoon.") and L'Huile Orient ("...L’HUILE ORIENT body oil nourishes, moisturizes and infuses skin with revitalizing properties. A mysterious, floral composition in which spicy Rose accents swirl together with notes of Frankincense, Benzoin and precious Wood. An invitation to enjoy a relaxing moment in a warm atmosphere.") are $230 each for 250 ml.

I have the No5 oil and a backup, so I don’t need any ( all) of these, do I??

I have the Jasmin Face Oil which has been available in the US for a while. It’s really nice. Very light scent, absorbs well, doesn’t make me break out. Wonder if the Jasmin Body Oil is the same stuff?

I’d be very surprised if the base formula wasn’t different, but I would think the smell would be pretty similar?

Neutragina sesame is the best oil. It saved me from stretch marks and smells good!

I got to try them in store last week and loved them! I almost got l’Huile d’Orient but the bottle is really gigantic. And expensive. But it’s really nice and light and moisturizing.

Ede: I will be a responsible adult and NOT buy more scented cosmetics.

Also Ede: I will take a second holiday to pay for these body oils.

$230!?! I impulse-bought the Le Labo shower oil ($30) yesterday and was berating my lack of control – I feel better now.

Oooh thanks for letting me know about the le Labo! I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on some. How is it?

I’m still waiting for it! Right now it’s only available in Mandarin but maybe they’ll add more scents. I love the L’Occitane shower oil and I’m hoping this is as good . . .

You know what would be nice? A coffret of four 30-mL bottles, one of each scent. That would be nice.
