It's Tuesday, and it's still October. What fragrance are you wearing?
I have popped out of town for a quick trip, and neglected to bring a single scented thing with me other than Lush Rose Jam. When I get home this afternoon I will put on something lovely and report back.
Reminder: on 10/26, step out of your comfort zone by wearing a perfume that you find challenging. Suggested by lucasai.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Denby Orchard teapot (top left) is around $86.
Challenging perfume: Jean Patou Joy
Simple bottle but not a simple perfume…. big floral powerful personality. Also wearing Joy lipstick by Laura Mercier. I am having a joyful day…
SipOTD Lapsang Souchong
Robin, sometimes taking a break from perfume is a good thing.
The tea set is darling!
I love LM lippies, what’s that color like? I find Joy challenging but the older extrait versions seem to wear better on my skin.
Joy is half matte have pearl but highly pigmented fuscia color
Joy perfume is beautiful but in the past when I have worn it I felt like I smell like the inside of a funeral parlor ????
I love how your perfume and lipstick color match today
Yes it is…and you smelled great for the both of us!
My cheap thrills SOTD is Jessica McClintock (original) I love the cassia, black currant, greens and lily of the valley notes. It’s been a love of mine since the 1980s.
I love the picture of small plates Robin, I love little tchotchkes around the house.
You smell great! JM is one that I have repurchased many times.
Thanks! I’m on my sixth bottle, I always have a backup just in case.
I enjoy reading your choices from the 80’s, please keep them coming
Thanks, will do! I have a few oldies but goodies.
Jessica McClintock! Wow, that takes me back to high school, when that and Gunne Sax dresses were very much A Thing! Pleasant memories.
Doesn’t it? I loved those dresses! Do you remember WilliWear By Willi Smith?
And Colors de Benetton was another well-loved favorite (both clothes and perfume).
I do too, and I want one of those rectangle plates!
Wearing Fille en Aiguilles today!
No way this is worthy of this weeks theme. This was love at first sniff for me, and tis a real comfort scent.
For the cp i’d probably wear an aquatic or very fruity scent. Those types of fragrances are out of my comfort zone.
I’m with you! Love Fille en Aiguilles and I just haven’t found an aquatic that I’m comfortable with. You smell fab!
Very nice ! I can see how this is a comfort scent for you.
You smell amazing! Have you tried L’ Eau Trois by Diptyque? It’s similar but without the dried fruit notes. It’s a beautiful dry incense/herbs/resins scent.
Yes, I tried it once (in a store) and I remember liking it a lot.
But I kinda forgot about it, I need to get my hands on a sample…. Haha.
I am saving the theme for Friday…sometimes comfort zone matters
Today I picked the original Nina by Nina Ricci from 1987. I found a very cute mini and, surprise! It’s fantastic. It may be from the 80’s, but it has 50’s bone structure. Slightly creamy floral chypre with a hint of manicured funk in the base. I wish I had an atomizer to pump it up, since it’s a bit quiet on me.
How nice that it’s still good! I never smelled that one.
I am wearing a nice citrus after the sweetness of Luctor et Emergo. Today is 4711 Mandarine & Cardamom.
Sorry you did not love POTL!
Wearing You, or Someone Like You for the challenge today. First time I tried it, it was horrible: cat pee and b.o.! But then Jada praised it in one of her videos and I gave it a second chance: that time it stayed nicely minty and citrusy. I decided to see which way it’d go today, and it’s behaving nicely, with minty herby politeness.
I really enjoy that scent!
I do get the mint, and it brings back a memory of my childhood home, where a patch of mint grew by the back gate.
It lasts a surprisingly long time, also.
I am going to Sephora this morning, so no scent for me–I have to keep my skin available for the Perfume Department!
Nice memory, and let us know if you find something wonderful at Sephora!
Cat pee is by far the worse smell
You said it! (I grumble the same to myself every time I clean the litter boxes.)
Especially if it comes from an intact male cat. Pee-yew!
I like that one. Even bought myself a bottle, albeit only 1 oz.
I have a Scentbird sample of it and really like it too….Sometimes I crave that minty note!
I am wearing Acqua di Parma Magnolia Nobile, while looking out of my window at a beautiful magnolia tree. It is lightly raining here, and the leaves have tiny droplets of water coming down from them.
Also, drinking a cup of Irish breakfast tea.
You are describing such a peaceful scene, I bet you smell lovely too although that’s one AdP I haven’t tried.
Thanks, it rained here the whole day. Mostly a light rain though. I have admired AdP Magnolia Nobile for a while. I am on my second sample.
You smell sooooo good! I was lucky enough to have my mother-in-law bring that scent to me when she went to Italy last year! I don’t wear it near enough….It really nails the magnolia scent!
Thank you. You have a very thoughtful mother-in-law to bring you such a lovely gift from Italy.
I agree — this perfume smells just like the magnolias from my tree.
I did not even remember to report my tea this morning: it was a black tea from Columbia, my first, and I cannot say I’m a fan so far.
Hello pleasant smelling people! I just got a very exciting packet of samples from Providence Perfume Co – mostly the perfume oils, which I absolutely love. They’re rich and wafty. Some of them feel very similar to each other but I love them all. Has anyone tried Rose 802 and do you agree with me that it kind of has a hint of artichoke? I didn’t know I’d been wanting an artichoke note until now. Anyway today I’m wearing Orange Blossom & Honey very contentedly.
Also! I’ve been forgetting for weeks to tell you all that I was on the West Wing Weekly podcast a few weeks ago talking about CJ’s perfume. The podcast episode is 5.17 if anybody wants to listen. But to sum it up we’re talking about the previous episode, where in an attempt to be sexy for a date CJ wears a lot of White Shoulders. I said that this would never happen because 1. not sexy and 2. CJ is too on-trend to wear White Shoulders in 2004 (recall that black Vera Wang!). I put her in Coco Mademoiselle – recently released, a classy brand, sexier, and not too far outside the mainstream for CJ to know about – but I would love to hear your ideas too!
Oh that’s so cool re: West Wing! I seem to remember that it was Leo who thought it was White Shoulders–a memory of a piano teacher who wore it but “not so much, not so much”–but CJ didn’t say…
First thought for scenting CJ? Jolie Madame.
Ooh, I like that! Yes, you’re right that it’s Leo who guesses, but she doesn’t deny it so I assume it’s true!
The old version was a bit of a classic american floral aldehydes number… so, maybe she would
Oh shoot. Wait. Wait. At my Bruno Fazzolari perfume class the other day Bruno was explaining that one floral shares notes/scent similarities with artichokes. Maybe tuberose? Wish I could remember. ????
I wonder if it was rose – I do think it’s the tang of rose that’s making me think of artichokes in this case
Likely! Found this article. Perfumer agrees w you! southamptonrose.org/exploring-fragrance/
Fascinating! Now I have to smell all my rose perfumes to see if I can spot it.
Oh how awesome!! I don’t listen to it because I’ve never seen the West Wing, but I’ve heard good things about it sounds fun!
Oh fun! Loved that show, but did not at all remember the perfume reference. My son just watched all of House, and was telling him he should do West Wing next.
I went with Ylang 49 today which I love but find challenging. It’s just so big by today’s standards so I worry that it will bother my coworkers. Oh well, it’s making me happy. ????
PS..I want that teapot. ☕
The pot is nice but the design is only on the top…I am more taken with the plates and mugs. Either way, it is not an awful price but I do wonder if it is possible to find it cheaper.
Ylang 49 is challenging
You smell wonderful!
Enjoy your perfume! I’m sure your co-workers will be fine.
You smell beautiful! It is challenging to get the right dose for that one.
SotM = Apres L’Ondee
Woke up at about 3 am and spritzed on Apres L’Ondee. Very calming. It’s now a cloudy cool morning, so I’ve added a generous perfumed cloud of AL’O to my morning ablutions.
Robin, that photo up top today is outstanding. I want to be in a room that smells as perfect as that image feels to my eyes. Elegant geometry, lovely colors, contemplative mood, all without saying “instagram flat lay” LOL
Hope everyone has a perfume-worthy day.
(yes, I’m thinking of Seinfeld Episode 119 The Sponge, ha!)
I love a good Seinfeld reference ????
one of my faves is “schmoopie!” of course
Lol about sponge-worthy ! One of my best friends and I share our love of perfume with each other. We also find Seinfeld hilarious. When we try something good or share samples with each other, we’ll joke about some perfumes being full bottle-worthy
FB-worthy is a big deal around here
3am is hellaciously early! Ugh!
ugh, yes, should have added I went back to sleep for a couple hours. The perfume helped.
So now i am trying to decide what perfume would match the photo…
I thought of Infusion d’Iris because of the soft green colors in common between the photo and the packaging, and the fragrance itself is a match to the feel of the photo too, gentle, self-assured, calm. I’m sure there are other scents that would work too. Have we done a match the scent to the photo project? LOL
Eau des Merveilles.????
Smelling so good!
You smell great!
I lost my sample, I miss it ????
EdM is da bomb. You smelled wonderful today!
Good morning Y’all….
I’ve been away from perfume for so long that going thru my samples is like going thru new things for the 1st time. I am excited all over again for new things to sniff. I also placed an order last night with Luckyscent, to try a few new things. Can’t wait to report on those soon!
Sampling Olfactive Studio Selfie today….I had forgotten how glorious and spicy and cozy and pretty this one smells. Good stuff! Perfect for a chilly fall day….
Smelly Instagram…I am doing an 8 day “Ocho for October” series, to do quick mini reviews on favorite fall scents. Come find me and tell me your favorite cooler weather smellies in the comments!
Hi hey! LOL
Jada, will you be doing YouTube again? Also wondering if you participated in Beauty Meows perfume? If you did, I would love to hear what you think of it.
I would LOVE to do YouTube! It’s finding the time to sit down and do it that’s the challenge lately….But I am thinking of a fall rotation video to do….
And YES YES YES! I did buy a bottle of Beauty Meow’s perfume, and can’t wait to get it! Did you buy one too? I enjoy her channel and her passion for scent! She’s a go-getter!
I didn’t buy it yet, but I might. I saw that Oct 31 was the deadline.
If you don’t end up getting it, I would be happy to send a sample when it gets here….
I have waaaaaaay too much perfume, so I placed an order for some glass perfume vials on Amazon today, so I can start sharing my stuff. Perfume is no good if I can’t use it up before it turns off!
Love the colorful top you are wearing in the Instagram…. Also, I am NOT jealous of your perfect skin. No sir, not me, not one bit…
Loving your Instagram reviews. And you also have great taste in lipsticks. That red you were wearing the other day was a stunner! ????
Unum LAVS. I like it, but there is something in it that also annoys me – at least for the first 30 minutes of wearing. So, that’s the difficult part
Aye, agreed… I don’t know what it is in that opening, but it scratches like a badly-sewn seam in a slightly too tight sleeve. It’s pretty fabulous otherwise, though, no?
For sure. Just gotta tough it out for the first 30 mins!!
Haha. As my older son says, “the struggle is real.”
LAVS didn’t work for me either. I thought I would love it but I don’t.
Yeah I thought I would love it too, but I actually had an allergic reaction to it — difficulty breathing. So strange! It’s the only time a perfume has had that effect on me.
I called into work sick today. I’m feeling a little bad about it, but I know I need the rest. I dabbed on a little Tuscan Leather last time I got up. I look and feel awful, but smell wonderful.
Blergh. Feel better.
Working with the public as you do, I’m sure you pick up germs. Maybe you should break out some of I hope you feel better soon.
Sorry, work interruption. Break out the tea you were drinking last winter/spring.
I just drank the last of the green tea. I still have some tumeric tea, that I will drink. Honestly though, it tastes awful. This has been a particularly bad health year for me, as far as germs and viruses go. Now that you mention it, it doesn’t coincide with me working at this job.
I am a big fan of turmeric caps
Anyway, adding to the get better soon wishes.
Take good care of yourself Lilijo, it’s probably best to stay home now and avoid getting even sicker later.
Ugh. But good you took off today. It’s a service to yourself and others! Hope you feel better soon!
You do smell wonderful. Hope you feel better soon.
Sorry to hear that you were sick enough to call out, but glad that you didn’t try to “tough it out” today. Take care of yourself! ????☕☕
Oy, hope you’re feeling better soon. ????????
Hope you feel better, lillyjo.
I am sharing Robin’s challenging no-frag frag morning. Commando myself at the hospital w my son for routine tests. We’re in the ‘day hospital’ where there are some pretty sick kids. My son is reading Behemoth and waiting anxiously for the nurse to insert his iv. I may treat myself w a Guerlain parfum when this is over!
I hope the day goes quickly and smoothly for you and your son.
Hope you and your son get to enjoy some comfort after the ordeal. Guerlain sounds like a nice way to go…
Fingers crossed all went well today, being around very ill children is so heartbreaking. You deserve some treat from Guerlain, do share what you acquired.
Thankfully today is not too bad (that is not bad enough to need “new bottle therapy” NBT), but to wear one of my fancier perfumes. I’m tilting towards Chamade!
Chamade is sooooooo good!
Hope the session is over quickly!
Happy, calming thoughts for both of you.
I hope that things went quickly and well for both you and your son.
I think you need to treat yourself to a new bottle. I hope it went well today.
Hope you are both long since home and relaxed, Oakland.
In Au Dela Narcisse today. I’d been eking out a large sample and decided to buy a bottle just as it went completely out of stock, with months to go until a new batch was ready. And then the occasional serendipity of a certain auction site came to the rescue. It’s not like I’d been checking every week or anything. Ahem.
Good stuff! Glad you found a bottle
thanks, I was delighted!
Of course not! Fate was with you.
I like the way you think
Great buy! You smell amazing!
I really do
Have you tried Dryad? Did we have this conversation before…?
No, I don’t think so, but I can’t seem to remember what happened 5 minutes ago…????
Goutal Passion. Mothballs and summer nights.
Tea is more civilised; MF Marco Polo.
I am lemming your tea
Sniffing Lucy B Tiare Coconut and Xerjoff Lira today…your vanilla may vary. ????
My vanilla is MIA entirely — glad you have it covered!
Happy day everyone!????I haven’t chosen a Sotd yet, I’m leaning for something easy and comforting so maybe just a dab of moonlit path lotion. Quick question, has anyone sniffed the Strand Books candle line yet? I just saw them when checking out Omoizakka websites new items. Lost in the Stacks and Rainy day Reads sound particularly interesting. ☺️
The strand, as in the NYC bookstore?
Yep, the same. I’ve never been but It is on my bucket list. Some friends visited NYC a couple years ago and brought back a very cute pencil bag from there for me. ????I’ve never been one for expensive candles but I might just be tempted by these as I love the themes, the scents sound interesting, and I love bookstores.
I am a frequent spender..I mean shopper at The Strand.
It’s a family business and the owner passed away and I believe his daughter now has taken over. I have seen her in person at book events and she is lovely.
Now that I have 2 kids its a little tricky spending as much time as I use to there, but I still frequent that store. For me, my books are a circle of life: I am too pressed for space to keep everything I buy so I donate them to the library( or a friend) and then I also utilize the library and sometimes when I want to re-read books I have read I wonder if the book in my hand is the one I donated…
In the next few weeks I will get down there so I will make sure I will report back about the candles.
Awesome, I’m very interested to see what you find out. I considerate on the space issue with books. I find kindle to be a good way to store quicker reads and books I’ll probably only read once. Also here I OKC we have several Halfprice Books stores. You can trade in old books for cash, it’s less than store credit elsewhere but more useful. And they will take anything you bring in! Even beat up items, such as kids books, that they can’t sell and donate them to places, like doctors offices. So it’s a two for one trip. ????
Arg. ????that’s commiserate. Spellcheck and I go round and round.
InkyFeathers, if you like reading on your phone I just discovered the Libby app, which lets you get ebooks from your library! I’m obsessed
My first supervisor at a college library (Work Study job) was named Libby!
My Sephora package just came and won’t spend any kind of time opening it since I am about to leave for work. Wearing no 22 edt today. It’s a somewhat difficult perfume for me. It’s a rosey, aldehydic powder bomb for me.
All of the Chanel numbered scents are challenging for me, even after all these years.
Hey there, dear friends! Today was my second and last full day in Stockholm. I accidentally ended up wearing a challenging fragrance. I brought my new sample of BF Vetiverissimo on this trip, thinking it would be a no-brainer, but once the great vetiver faded away, it turned into a slightly stomach-churning musk (think Glossier You). I need to try it a couple more times to see what is going on there, but this might be yet another BF scent that I don’t need to buy.
I forgot to mention that the hotel toiletries are by the Perfumer’s Story by Aziz. The scent is called Character No. 1. I’ve never heard of this line before, but I quite like the scent of the products; CN1 appears to be an exclusive for this hotel. It’s like a masculine citrus leather incense. Really nice, though the body milk is TRASH and makes my skin dry in about two minutes. At least the infuser in the bathroom smells great.
Uh oh, the dreaded “ICK” musk. At least, that is what I call it sometimes. Definitely a no go for me!
Oh no, I had high hopes for the BF.
Can’t take on a scent challenge today – life has been just too frenetic lately to introduce any fragrance that requires work. Commando at the moment, considering some reliable comforts, like Theorema, Douce Amere, or Jaisalmer.
Have a fragrant Tuesday, everybody!
I hope that things settle down for you soon!
You and me both, Lisa D! Swap the Jaisalmer for Kyoto, but we’re having the same week
You smell nice Robin – I tried Rose Jam for the first time recently and really liked it, especially the drydown.
In Mohur again – I should have sprayed more liberally though cuz it’s just a skin scent 4 hours in
I too am wearing Mohur today, but I must have sprayed more wildly, as I am still very fragrant methinks!
SOTD = Serge Lutens Chergui
This was initially challenging when I barely wore 2 sprays – it was all big sprayish. Fast forward one of the earliest Splitmeets and I decided to go for a decant (I think I ended up with 2 due to an odd split). In any case, more is more. Today, I am happily wearing 6 sprays. I lump Chergui, Mitzah and Coromandel together from the standpoint that they are all incensey, honeyed, has a spicy resinous feel and all are great for Fall.
Question: I am looking for lightly scented dryer sheets. Liquid to be added to the wash is not an option since my wash is commingled with others’. I smelled the Mrs. Meyers dryer sheets (Lavender and another one with verbena), but both were overwhelmingly strong. Price is no object. Alternatively, instructions on how to make homemade dryer sheets that you have successfully tried would be most welcome as well.
A track was taken out of service for who knows how long for repairs. The passengers that normally use that track now use the remaining ones for the other lines. Yesterday, the platform for my train was inundated with masses of extra people for the other train line and it finally cleared so much that I could spit ten feet along the platform and not hit anyone. AnywY, as the platform filled up and a train approached, oozing mass of people surged to the train doors and got mostly settled except for a buch or lost people who GOT ON THE WRONG TRAIN – because 1) they were used to only having their train line exclusively using the track. 2) signage and announcements for the trains were not prominent. 3) they THOUGHT their train was early so they boarded (hmmm, they looked like seasoned commuters but looks are deceiving…). Anyway, it looks like I need to get used to more crowding on the platform (in addition to the overcrowded trains) and I’m afraid that at some point, the platform may collapse from the sheer number of people!
Tomorrow’s perfume will not be challenging. Instead, I will wear my spine strengthening No.19 EDP for a very challenging (but good challenging) Wednesday!
I use felted wool dryer balls, and spray them with whatever perfume I want the laundry to smell like.
I just started using those balls- haven’t sprayed them, but what a great idea! My husband will probably disagree. Mostly, my cat loves to play with them!
I need to try the felted balls. Do you know how long they last?
I didn’t buy them, my husband did, but apparently indefinitely? They’re not treated with anything that disappears after use. He got them to be a little “greener” except we have forgotten to bring them to the laundromat and had to buy dryer sheets anyway a few times, lol. Not sure how they compare to dryer sheets, though. I don’t pay that much attention.
Ooh, where did your husband get them?
I agree with the wool ball idea! You can also put a drop or two of any essential oil on the ball…it won’t leave any oil on your clothes (at least in my experience). Never thought of perfume on the ball! (Races to start a load of towels now….)
When I use them, I plan to enclose them in two mesh bags to act as barriers in case there’s a chance of contamination.
Great idea! Where did you get yours? Thank you!
I got mine from Amazon. Have done them with essential oils but never thought of perfume!
You smell great at least and I both enjoy and empathize with the woes.
Thank you. This always happens with Chergui — I smell something wonderful while around other people, note to self to ask at least one person what they’re wearing…then realize it’s actually me!
I use the Downey Amber scented sheets and like them.
Oooh I hope hey have.a trial size of this and I will probably end up solitting a sheet so it is less fragranced.
You smell great today!
Seventh Generation dryer sheets come unscented. I also use white vinegar in the rinse cycle rather than fabric softener. It’s economical and you do not smell it on your clothes. I
Thank you. I was hoping for a subtle, non-floral non-fruity non-gourmand scent.
No ideas for your fabric softener query. I actually had problems in the past with dryer sheets, so I switched to liquid fabric softener ages ago.
And “BOO HISS” on your track issues. Track repairs are the pits to deal with!
We used to use liquid softener but it ended up gunking the reservoir.
As to track repairs, one set of stairs (there are two altogether) to get to the parking lot had been under rehabilitation since early summer. It takes 4x longer to get to the parking lot if you don’t sit within 2 train cars. of the lone staircase so if course, those cars are the most crowded. I have learned a technique to weave through the crowds faster — go to the outside perimeter of the crowd on cut through, slanting towards the left to get to the inside edge of the staircase. The inside had a tighter loop and I can use it the banisters to steady myself. It’s a science!
I’ve been vigorously shaking up my liquid fabric softener every time I use it. Seems to keep the goop away. My problem with the dryer sheets was that I ended up getting a rash from them. No bueno!
No bueno is right!
I would be afraid the masses would push those by the track right off the platform. Yikes!
No dryer ideas, alas. I stopped using anything in the dryer when I really paid attention to the price of dryer sheets. Redonkulous! I’m ok with a bit of static cling for free ???? Someone I know washes their clothes with new tennis balls, and then chucks the lot into the dryer. Supposedly, the tennis balls prevent wrinkling, but not sure what they do for softening and static cling…
I use tennis balls to fluff up my down coat, comforters and fleece blankets. They tend to reduce static!
I liked Arm & Hammer natural dryer sheets – good luck!
Is it scented?
It has a mild scent, yes
D&G La Roue de la Fortune, or as I call it, Angel light; it’s the reverse of challenging.
Angel lite sounds good to me!
Hello All, nice to meet you! I’m a longtime lurker and it’s nice to find a group who don’t think you’re weird for having such a hobby/obsession.
I have just put on a dab of Vanille Tonka for the community project. I was so sure I would love this when I decided to get a sample, but a full day’s wear put me off of going anywhere near it for weeks. I think it’s the combination of basil and cinnamon that doesn’t work for me here – individually I like them (in fact, I love basil), but this was too overpowering.
I am also guilty of ordering a batch of samples out of disappointment with my weekend trip. I looked up a store in Vienna where they sell niche fragrances and I hoped to get samples there, thereby saving the shipping cost, only to be told that the samples are only available via the online store. So I caved and ordered them online, but I had to stop myself from ordering a Petit Fours set from the Ormonde Jayne website as well, which I have also been planning to do for a while, because I can’t really afford any of this.
Hello andrea! ????
Welcome Andrea, glad you delurked and sorry it was a day I was on the road and took forever to approve your comment! Hope you’ll come back tomorrow and chime in again.
No worries, I’m glad to be here!
Welcome, Andrea! I hope you find some scents you like in the samples you just ordered
Thank you, I’m sure I will!
SOTD is Paestum Rose. Goes nicely with the milder day we’re having.
Re-sampling Guerlain Jicky today. These grand dames of perfumery are challenging for me. Though the modern versions are less scary than the vintages. Got the EdT on the left hand, and Parfum on the right. I find the EdT more to my liking (good for the wallet, eh) though it sure doesn’t last.
I’m a long-time fan of Guerlain but Jicky is a challenge for me too.
I feel the same way about Mitsouko.
Me too. I grew into Jicky pretty quickly, but I think I will never grow into Mitsouko.
I tried to love Jicky, but couldn’t. I respect and admire it, though. I swapped my bottle away, and now it has a better home.
Niral by Neela Vermeire Creations for this rainy Tuesday
Inadvertently participating in the project today by sampling Abominally Adorable from Wilde Ivy. It’s a toasted marshmallow scent but it was so strong and sneezingly synthetic that I had to wash with a few different soaps so that it would be less difficult. Sometimes I get bored and try random sellers off etsy…..
I like the name!
My SOTD is Jungle L’Elephant mainly because it’s been mentioned several times here and it’s made me crave it. It’s a cool dreary day here so it’s a good day for it. I would have definitely found this challenging a year or two ago, but I love it now!
I have a mini that I need to pull out. I always mean to wear it but somehow, I never do.
That bottle is so unique!
Bois d’Hadrien today. Trying to use up the decant. Still thinking about the Community project….maybe Mitsouko, as i find the Peach note challenging.
Quick drop by to add my SOTD: Natori
Sadly, it’s pretty much gone at this point in the day but the morning was extra lovely wearing this beauty.
I should pull out my mini bottle of that and give it a sniff soon!
I’m wearing Organza that I got in the Fumerie swap.
I have a bottle of this from the original release – I don’t wear it anymore but like sniffing for nostalgic purposes
It’s a gorgeous sunny day here, and my “To Do” list is down to 3 items! Whoo hoo! ????????
SOTD = Sonoma Scent Studio Nostalgie EdP. I blind bought the travel spray when Laurie was having her clearance sale earlier this year. I honestly had no idea what it was going to smell like. Well, this blind buy turned out beautifully! Not a challenging scent for me, but since it is loaded with lots of sparkly aldehydes on top, I can see how some people would consider it so.
Glad you had a sunny day. We had another dreary day and heavy rain. It is finally clearing now, as the sun is going down. At least I’ll get an hour of sunlight before dark.
Nostalgie is beautiful.
I hope that you have sunny skies soon Petunia! There’s the chance for a big Nor’Easter out here this weekend, so I am enjoying every iota of sun that I can.
I’m glad that I tried Nostalgie now… this is the perfect time of year for it.
A Nor’Easter es no bueno!
Si! I was not happy about that weather forecast at all.
It was so lovely out!
I was in the mood for an odd, unconventional perfume today. It was almost going to put on Fruitchouli Flash and then saw the L’air de Rien. Kind of over sprayed it and got some funny looks from people in town. It really does smell like dandruff scalp, sweaty sheets and hippy leather stuff that belonged to a smoker from the thrift store. Oh well, I that’s one I really love anyway.
Sounds skanky to me!
You smell wonderful! I like L’air de Rien a lot…it’s like nothing else!
Super late but smelling great in Volutes edt✌????
Fabulous! I have both EDT and EDP and while I prefer the EDT, the EDP is also very appealing!
Yum. I might wear that tomorrow.
Trying to get my decanting done today. I was slowed due to a mishap with the instant pot mini…made chicken and dumplings, and it SPEWED big time when I released the pressure. I had no idea there were so many little crevices and tight spots for chicken goop to work it’s way into, and it all had to be cleaned. Some areas needed a Q tip.
I was in Fico di Amalfi this morning, and Cuir de Lancôme after lunch. Decided I’d had enough challenge for the day. Relaxing with a cuppa, chamomile & spearmint, thanks to the lovely PL67. I hope things are okay with you, M.!
“Q-tips” and “cleaning” in the same sentence are never good! Enjoy your tea and to heck with any kinda challenges today ????
Yikes! on the Instant Pot mishap! No burns on you, I hope!
I’ve been wondering about PL67 lately, too.
No burns! Just a greasy mess. ????
Just chiming in with hoping all is well with PL67
