Hermès will launch Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver, a new flanker to 2006's Terre d'Hermès fragrance for men (see also: 2014's Terre d'Hermès Eau Très Fraîche and 2009's Terre d'Hermès Parfum).
The strength of vetiver mixed with the vitality of the Sichuan pepper and green bergamot. On the horizon, another Terre. Vetiver, inherent to Terre since its origins, is the culmination of this new composition. The initial woody and mineral balance of Terre becomes woody and vegetal.
Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel.
Hermès Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver can be pre-ordered now at Bloomingdales for delivery in September, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Ohhhh! Did you say VETIVER?! Definitely will give this a sniff!
Me too.
I am so smitten by this release. Swoon. I may need a fainting couch.
I am not sure I’ll love it if they lost the mineral notes, but will certainly give it a shot.
That part gave me pause, as well. The mineral/flint stuff sets Terre apart from the sea of citrusy, woody vetivers. Who needs more of the same? That said, I will be eagerly awaiting the chance to sniff this, as Terre d’Hermes is my spirit animal.
Exactly! I do love vetivers, but there are lots of them already.
Wasn’t the original a vetiver scent?
They are really stretching it this time.
Yes — this is what Hermes tends to do with their flankers, highlight and amplify one of the original notes.
Terre d’Hermès with *more* vetiver? Yikes! That would be … a lot.
Though maybe it’s the mineral notes plus vetiver that I find so intense in the original formula? I think I prefer the Parfum because it isn’t quite so stern and flinty in comparison.
Dang it, now I’m curious…
Got a chance to sniff this on the weekend. The mineral notes are definitely still present (perhaps more in the drydown, more “backgrounded”) and there is a definite vetiver presence, but it’s neither as earthy nor as stringent as I had feared it might be. Didn’t do a side-by-side comparison. But there seems to be something warm and gingery in its mid-section some where, though I don’t recall ginger in the original composition. Is this a facet of vetiver that I’ve never noticed before — or a competitive element the vetiver fiends among you won’t enjoy?
Er, “somewhere.”
