Happy Tuesday, and happy Oatmeal Muffin Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: a little dab of Box of Eels.
Reminder: 12/22 will be 'Tis The Season Friday...wear the perfect fragrance to celebrate, share joy and look forward to a new year. Suggested by happy888cat.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017 or Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Bernardaud Grenadiers Teapot is $298 at Chelsea Gifts.
Love that teapot!
Needed a summer fragrance pick me up : Songes
The teapot is amazing. A matching set would be so fantastic.
There is a whole dinner service — it’s quite cute and quite expensive.
Yippee but boo. I haven’t been THAT good this year.
yes you have!!!
Teapot is so cute and I would not be able to use it, much less breathe on it!
I find Songes sprayed on a woolen shawl quite lovely.
One of my self Christmas presents: Zoologist Camel. This is quickly surpassing my other favorites from the House.
Maybe I should have saved it for hump day? ????
Hee hee.
Nice one!
Ba da boom!
????
Good Tuesday everyone!
Robin, I’m joining you in sandalwood with the powerhouse Samsara EdT. I have two vintage bottles that smell a bit different and naturally I prefer the smaller bottle’s juice! My 100ml is a bit shrill, though always garners compliments. The 50ml, though, has a gorgeous sandalwood praline effect, a bit sweet but definitely not overpowering. I’m glad I got to try it again.
You smell great!
Thank you!
Twins! I bought a set of 3 mini parfums off ebay and they’re really lovely.
Oh yay! I haven’t tried the parfum yet but I’ve got my eyes open. I’m trying to secure some Nahema parfum though before it’s unattainable.
Love Samsara, such a gorgeous sandalwood perfume. The extrait, if you can find some, is so beautiful.
Ah! you smell wonderful!!
Thank you!
You smell YUM. Just wonderful!
It’s good stuff!!
Gorgeous SOTD!
Thank you!
Joining the Samsara peeps today. It is so lovely.
Fragrance cousin, Robin! I am in Chanel Misia.
What a wonderful teapot. I can imagine a lovely afternoon tea setup, with matching cups and small plates of dainty cookies 🙂
Hey cousin!
Thank you all so much for the good thoughts yesterday. I will require surgery in Jan, but it was caught before it got to the OMG stage. Overall, the best I could have hoped for.
Wearing Victoria Minka’s Hedonist Rose – the opening white wine not smells like celebration to me!!
Good news hannahmom.
????✌
????
I’m so glad that they diagnosed you early. It can make such a huge difference. Still thinking of you!
Now I want to try Hedonist Rose – it sounds lovely.
It is – I haven’t tried the others in the line, but the Rose is very nice
So glad it was caught! Wishing you peace, calm and joy this holiday season.
Good news, and we will all be sending you good wishes for surgery!
Keep that positive spirit, and it will go a long way in your healing! 🙂
Glad it was caught and recovery is on the way!
Good news. Wishing you the best throughout.
Very good news, and we’ll be thinking of you at surgery time.
I’ve been there, or more precisely I’ve been where your husband is. Best wishes to you both.
hallelujah! hallelujah! Can I get a Handel’s Messiah chorus for hannahmom?!!!
Thanks for sharing the news, we’re all cheering for you.
Thanks for sharing your news! Hoping it’s uphill from here.
I am glad to hear this. I’ve been thinking of you and hoping that all goes well!!
Ok, so now there is a plan. You don’t have to think about it until January, so don’t. Then one step at a time.
That’s a very good idea. Don’t borrow tomorrow’s trouble, as my mother always said.
I need to keep this in mind as well! Thanks.
That is very good news!
I’m so glad that despite requiring surgery, it was caught early. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery! Try not to worry. I will be sending you peace and healing vibes during my daily meditation.
Good news! Now you can really enjoy the holidays.
I’m relieved to hear that you got the news you were hoping for and have a plan to deal with it.
Fingers and toes crossed for you, Hannahmom!
You can do it!????
I’m so glad it was caught early!
That’s (relatively) great!!! Thanks for sharing with us <3
I am wearing Les Liquides Imaginaires Dom Rosa. I got a sample because I saw it described as a scent of champagne and roses (fitting for the theme of celebration). It does smell like a sparkling wine during first minute – bubbly, effervescent and merry. The rose is there too – a sweet, almost syrupy rose. The whole effect is surprisingly innocent and light. This is how I’d expect an alcohol-free ‘champagne’ for kids to smell (though it probably smells nothing like this). Just after a minute or two after application, grapefruit takes over. It’s a delicious, tart, juicy grapefruit. I quite enjoyed this stage. But again, it did not stay like that long. Now, approximately 20 minutes after spraying, it’s a very faint fragrance. I can smell rose, grapefruit and pear a little when I bring my wrist to my face. Gone far too soon. 🙁 Who knows, it may perform better in spring. I have a feeling that this is a warm weather scent.
That sounds gorgeous – too bad it’s so fleeting!
I love that one too but longevity is terrible.
Wearing Chanel Coco. It always cheers me up during the holidays! ????
Love Coco!
????
Smelling good perfumelover67!
????????????????????????????????????????????
????????????????????????????
Thank you, Bear!????
Coco was the only gift that my mother-in-law specifically requested, so I bought the 3.4 oz bottle and the shower gel from Chanel online! It is sooooooo good!! You smell amazing today!
I bet the shower gel is divine.
I am sure your MIL will enjoy it a lot. I have never tried the shower gel, but it must be amazing!
Perfect!
????
I have the soap and it makes my bathroom smell heavenly! Coco is a great winter choice!
I need to look for a soap or a shower gel. They sound wonderful!
You smell great! I want to smell like you! I will smell like you! Thank you for the idea! 🙂
Thank you!
SOTD is Slumberhouse Vikt which with its chewy edible resins does feel very seasonal, although not in a cheerful way more in a Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening way, or maybe like my favorite Christmas movie Rare Exports, where Santa is a dark ancient power hidden for years beneath the earth… (If you haven’t seen this movie go check out the trailer, it is an incredible treat and actually quite uplifting!)
OMG! My husband and two of our best friends watched that this weekend. I was reading a book, but guess I should have watched!
Did they love it? I so want this to become the movie everyone watches at Christmastime. Everyone with kids old enough to see Santa as a terrifying creature unearthed from the deep, that is.
Just viewed the trailer – I think I might have to watch this on Christmas!
I really like Rare Exports too! A theatre in Seattle is showing it this weekend, but I’ll probably just rewatch it at home because it’s streaming on Amazon.
My favorite Christmas movies are Home Alone, Die Hard, and Black Christmas (original 1974 version). For interested parties, Black Christmas is very creepy and disturbing. Not for the faint of heart.
Ooh, I’ll have to add that to my list!
SOTD is Caron Tabac Blond in the parfum formulation. Mr. G approves. 🙂
And so do I!
It has been busy at work with sadly time for frivolity. 🙁
But we just made it through some long dreaded meetings and I am looking forward to 5 days off in a row…it includes a weekend but still 5 (ah, ah, ah…like the Sesame Street Count) …5 days off! 🙂
I am going to follow Robin’s lead today w/ Box of Eels EDT. How do folks like the EDP of this one please?
little time for frivolity that is…and proof reading 😉
I like the edp version, smelled very good to me.
I got a sample of EdP recently but haven’t tested it in parallel with the EdT. On its own it smells nice but I don’t trust any changes so I expect it to disappoint me somehow. And I still think I “need” the extrait version.
Oh, the extrait is absolutely delicious. I have a 1ml dabber that I’m hoarding.
I wore the edt, which I took a long time coming around to, a ton this past summer, and tried the edp in early fall. When I first tried the edp I was struck by how different it is from the edt (particularly the opening, which is much less sweet.)
I bought a large decant of the edp from the splitmeet and have been wearing it exclusively since then and aside from the opening I can’t remember what differences I initially detected between the 2. According to my notes, they were different enough that I thought it warranted having both, and that the edp was richer, heavier (though “less diaphanous” is probably a better description) and woodier.
I spent a lot of time trying to find an affordable bottle of the edt, but I’ll be perfectly happy with the edp if that never happens. The edp splitter still has some available, btw, and I can give you her contact info if you want it.
SOTD is Le Labo’s Iris 39 and enjoying the remnants of yesterday’s baking, the kitchen smells of coconut macaroons.
I’ve been looking at tea kettles from MacKenzie Childs. What a beautiful selection they have….
http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/kitchen/by-category-kitchen/tea-kettles-kitchen/
Those kettles are amazing! You smell gorgeous, by the way.
Those tea kettles are gorgeous. I’ve always like MacKenzie Childs stuff. They are too pretty to actually use.
I thought the same thing PriscillaE. My Mother in law just returned from Chicago, she fell in love with many of the items in Crosel & Co.
OMG..yes please
Gorgeous tea pots
I followed the link just to be polite (not that you or anybody else would know if I did it or not 🙂 ) but now I wish I had a use for one of those! I wish it came as an electric one (I checked – they don’t do that).
Iris 39 is one of my two LL favorites that I enjoy wearing. I have many iris perfumes, and this one isn’t “redundant” – I do not have anything else like it. You smell good!
Undina, looking at that website makes me want *all* the pretty things!
Thanks re: the Iris 39, this one took me a while to fall in love with but oh boy once I did!! Down the rabbit hole I went!
Oh my goodness. A teapot with butterflies on it!! It’s so cute! ????
My SOTD (or morning) is Orris by Commodity – I picked up one of their storybook sample packs at Sephora while shopping yesterday. Orris is not a hit with me – I love iris scents, but this is a sweet iris scent, not a dry and rooty one. Oh well, 14 more to try!
Canadian NSTers – do any of you happen to know how much a 75ml bottle of a Chanel exclusif EDP costs here? I can’t find that info anywhere. If I happen to go into Holt Renfrew and one just happens to want to come home with me, I want to know how much it’s going to cost me. (Just hypothetically, of course. Not that I’m planning a trip downtown later this week.)
I don’t know off hand, best to call them first.
Well, Holts lists 30 ml of Chanel No. 5 parfum for $C385, so I am pretty sure the price = Eek.

You’re welcome, kpaint !
😀
I’m wearing another discontinued Smell Bent, Snobirds, which is a perfume oil. Fragrantica describes it as “orange blossom, amber, resins, sugar, patchouli, cardamom and ginger”. When I put it on, there was a distinct orange smell, like the orange in the candy that you whack on a table and unwrap, which then falls into pieces shaped like orange segments. Now there is a general spicy sweetness, but nothing distinctive.
That smells wonderful!
Terry’s chocolate oranges? I love those (dark chocolate, please).
Dark chocolate is the only way to go.
Yves Rocher had a holiday shower gel one year that was a ringer for a Terry’s chocolate orange.
I have some! It’s in our spare bathroom, so I don’t use it very often. It’s a great scent for this time of year.
Box of Eels! what a name! I am in Timbuktu, One of the first scents I bought over ten years ago. Wore it and Perfume Sacre a lot that year and have taken a break from them since I have many to choose from now.
You smell wonderful, Shellyw.
2nd that.
Thirding. Timbuktu is good stuff.
Good morning Y’all!
Day 2 of my Christmas gourmands week…..Today I’m sporting Body Shop Frosted Cranberry. Just a fun, sweet cranberry scent. Sorry they don’t make it anymore! I only have 1/2 a bottle left….
Oooh, that reminds me, I want to make candied cranberries this year…
If you love cranberry, here is an AMAZING cranberry shortbread that is just sooooo good! Beautiful to look at as well….
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/218878/citrus-shortbread-cookies/
That sounds intriguing: how do you make them, or how do they turn out? I’m curious. I had a phase of making many different flavours of ice cream for fun, and cranberry turned out to be the best and most popular–also by far the prettiest–such a deep lovely shade of pink!
Going to crack into the little Berdoues sampler I got from Sephora with a coupon. Which to try? Which to try! Then, although I should clean up this tiny home that has gotten out of hand, I must go hide out to continue frantically trying to finish the knitting project.
Which Berdoues to try? All of them! At this time of year I would go for Arz el-Rab first though you can’t beat Assam of India, a great tea for Tuesday. 🙂
Was Maasai Mara in the set? It’s perfect for now
Unless they’ve updated the set since I got mine, Maasai Mara isn’t in it. I wish it had been though because it does sound nice.
Thanks! Don’t see Maasai Mara in there. Did a quick spritz of Arz, but I think I’ll wait till my sniffer is functioning properly before I do anything more. What I could smell seemed nice, but I’m not at full capacity. Excited to try all of them.
I always feel like I’m missing something when I try Box of Eels. It just turns to powdery meh on me.
I’m in Cartier L’Envol today.
I bet the vintage extrait would get you — but better not to know!
LOL probably better for my credit card’s health that I not find out!
Exactly.
It took me a long time to come around to it. For years I found it unrelentingly sweet and could not abide.
Wearing MPG Cuir Fetiche (since my mom muled it back from Paris, it’s turning into a winter go-to scent.)
Nice mom!
I’m wearing Le Labo Vanille 44 today. Unlike most from that line, this one smells just like its name. It’s nice, but I’ve had other, better, vanillas.
Every time I smell/wear from the decant on its own, I like it very much. But then I remind myself that choosing by trying side-by-side with a couple of other great vanillas, I’ve chosen to buy another one. But still, for my nose it’s one of the best. You smell very nice!
Lanvin Eclat d’Arpege
Vintage Samsara parfum today for wrapping and bill-paying. Yummy.
I adore nutcrackers — they’re the only thing I collect. So far, though, I have managed not to collect anything BUT the nutcrackers, i.e., no nutcracker-themed socks or shower curtains or trash bins or cookie jars. And I’m tempted by that lovely teapot, but not to the tune of 300 smackers. Went over to Zazzle and found this, though, at 10% of the cost of that one: https://www.zazzle.com/xmas_nutcracker_teapot-180665470993323250
(note to self: just the nutcrackers, just the nutcrackers, nothing else)
well, the Zazzle one isn’t nearly as NICE as the expensive one. But for $27, it’s pretty cute.
Yes it is!
I will take one of those tea pots too..
I made a comment about middle aged women engaging in collecting recently – excusing myself from that group, of course – and my H looked at me like I was crazy and started laughing. I’m now doing the same about your only collecting nutcrackers. 😀 😀 😀
Since I don’t have an hour or two before work to yell at Toys R Us about not e-mailing my e-gift card, I’m going to do it tomorrow. Today, I will be wearing Deneuve to work. I am not looking forward to being up to my eyeballs in making cookie trays.
Great perfume! I wish it still was in production!
Omg, I’m sitting downtown and accidentally turned on my car alarm and couldn’t figure out how to turn it off! About gave myself a heart attack! Anyway…. I’m wearing Angel Muse today. I think it makes a good cozy holiday scent.
SO sorry Lillyjo! I assume you eventually figured it out, but that couldn’t have been fun.
I did finally figure it out. Fyi, yelling Stop it! Doesn’t work.
Oh no on the car alarm!!
It was so LOUD!
Well, that’s one way to attract attention. ????
SotD = L’air du desert marocain
This for me will forever be the scent of the 2017 holidays. SO beautiful. It has a resonance that fits perfectly with my mood and the season.
Have a terrific Tuesday, NSTers!
You smell fabulous.
thanks, cazaubon!
I can’t believe it took me so many years to get around to smelling L’air du desert marocain. It’s a revelation.
I wore it on NYE a couple of years ago when we had a full moon (or close to it) and clear skies (a rarity up here) and it was utterly magical.
oh, that does sound like magic! I’m happily surprised that I love L’air du desert marocain so much in the cold weather.
I love to wear it on cold days. So good this time of year.
Agree! In the cold weather it is perfect. One of the reviews I read for L’air du desert marocain said it is better as a warm weather scent. I hope it will work as an all weather scent for me. 🙂
My husband comes home today after a month away. YAY. I’m wearing Cinnabar.
Yay!! Happy happy joy joy! 🙂
Oh, wow! Enjoy the celebration!
I’m shamelessly copying Robin et al from yesterday and wearing Theorema. Today is ugly Christmas sweater day at school. I lived through the eighties – I own ugly sweaters.
Ha! Same here
LOL!
????
Guerlain Winter Delice for me today. Yummy.
Hoping to sneak out of work early to finish Xmas shopping… we’ll see if my cunning plan works out… or not.
Good luck, Santa Ninja.
Good luck… maybe you can claim a meeting in a remote location at 3pm?
ooo.what does that smell like?
Good luck! I sneaked out earlier for lunch at 11am and trying to be back by 2:30pm to get a Christmas present for a co-worker. Is that supposed to be work related? Hope to be successful ????
I’m channeling Christmas tree and Yule log smells in Kerosene Wood Haven.
Oh, never got to that one, sounds perfect!
SOTD = Dzing!, seven sprays. Thank youuuu, swapmeet!!
This is becoming one of my favorite weirdly wonderful comfort scents. I’m really trying to get into the Christmas spirit and looking forward to seeing our 16 month old granddaughter this weekend. I’m sure that will help. ????????
I am sure that will help! I am having trouble getting into the spirit myself this year.
House of Matriarch Kazimi over Tauer Rose Delight body oil. Feeling cold and lazy but need to get my butt in gear over to yoga class.
Waaah… it’s snowing! I was supposed to grab some Christmas tea with a friend but he cancelled, so I went to shops and found a jumper I liked so I bought it.
Another good news is that Grandiflora is now available in Poland so I’m going to treat myself to Queen of the Night very soon.
SotD is Carner Barcelona D600.
Enjoy your treat! Tis’ the season
Thank you!
????????????
From Me, To ME! !!
???? says, Enjoy! !!
????????
????????⛄❄⛄????????????????????
Gotta love self-gifts! And I can make them all year round
Smelling wonderful Lucasai!
Thank you
You smell so wonderful.
Morning, NST. Today is Carday. I’m so excited that I’m feeling a bit silly, and I wanted a giddy perfume….I cannot think of a perfume that I own that says “Giddy, happy, all good things.” That is to say, in their own way, they all do, but nothing stands out as particularly light-hearted and frivolous. I’ve chosen Cuir de Russie, not light-hearted at all, but it does have a certain dash, I suppose. An insouciance, even. Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
I’m loving reading all the winter choices of NST-ites up in the other hemisphere. Every single perfume I read about is making me think, “Oooh, I wish I were wearing that!” I think that says something about my preferences for the seasons. I was born at the end of May, and that’s my favourite time: late autumn. In a bad year, it might be early winter, but generally, it’s cool, not cold, and the air is very clear. The shadows are blue and the light is silver. All this unchanging golden sunshine we’re having now is a bit boring to me, though having said that, I can hear a regular pattering on the roof next door that. suggests it might be raining. Good-o. We could do with it.
Well, off I pootle to start the day. Be well, all. Hannahmom, I didn’t say anything, but I thought of you. I’m glad indeed that your situation has been determined early and can be treated quickly.
I was born at the end of May as well, but my favorite season is spring. Funny how your favorite season relates to your birth date (and hemisphere).
I am in a unicorn scent–something called Greek Keys by Sarah Baker. My mom picked up the sample at an arts fair in Napa from the perfumer herself. Ostensibly, she works out of London, but she is also a performance artist manufacturing her image as a status symbol–so who knows! Curious?: https://www.sarahbakerperfumes.com/copy-of-the-perfumes
Greek Keys–its a neo- citrus, calone, seaside florals fragrance, similar to Weekend by Parfums de Nicolai (although a quick check on Fragrantica shows little overlap in the notes, I stand by my loose comparison).
In other fragrance news, I had that supremely satisfying experience of finding something at Marshall’s that not only was an excellent bargain, but has been on my “to buy” list for years–Bronze Goddess whipped body cream for $15 🙂 ! That’s not just free, its an invitation to buy something else.
I have to look for a sample of Greek Keys if it is similar to Weekend…
The Bronze Goddess whipped body cream for $15 was a great bargain. Enjoy it! It us not easy to find good perfumes and related products at Marshall’s anymore. You have to be at the right store at the right moment.
Weekend is more herb-y, minty, off kilter. Strip Weekend of the herbs, mint, and off-kilter, and you have Greek Keys. I think Weekend has a lot more going on–stranger but also prettier.
Yup, I’ve never found anything the least bit tempting at any of those TJ Maxx/Marshalls-type stores. Congrats, OF! Sounds like a perfect treat in the dead of winter 😀
WOW! What a deal!
I know, right!
That is a good find!
I’m wearing Ineke’s Poet’s Jasmine today. Unlike my usual conservative 1-2 spritzes, I gave it a full four sprays today – in celebration of all things good in my life.
And on that note – every morning when I turn on the computer and log into NST (which I have trained myself to do BEFORE I check email, as a small nod to the ever elusive work/life balance concept), I experience a moment of appreciation at the thought of all of you out there, spritzing, spraying, dabbing, and sniffing along with me.
You smell glorious.
I share your perfume community sentiment.
And random PSA that Hautelook is having its YOSH and Ineke sale again–with bottles going for a song.
Wow, that is quite a sale! Those are some wonderful prices. Oof, that’s really tempting….
After reading Elisa’s reviews of Masque Milano perfumed yesterday, I decided to take my new Mandala decant out for a spin today. It’s lovely and pretty much just as she described – pomander vibe at first and then a peaceful incense blend. I am quite apprehensive about trying Times Square on skin after reading multiple reports on it. Maybe tonight though…
At work my team is having our holiday lunch today and gift exchange. I’m looking forward to Irish pub food and the biscotti that my boss makes every year. Tomorrow is ugly sweater day, and I’ll be wearing this one: https://middleofbeyond.com/collections/cardigans/products/gremlins-https://middleofbeyond.com/collections/cardigans/products/gremlins-cardigan
Oops meant to say specifically that Elisa reviewed it on Bois de Jasmin.
I thought Times Square was good for a laugh at least!! I just wouldn’t wear it in public before trying it out in the privacy of your own home first…
Love the gremlins hanging from the Christmas lights!
Grr pasting error. One more time. https://middleofbeyond.com/collections/cardigans/products/gremlins-cardigan
If it helps, I thought it was fun, too (and not at all scary 😉 ) I recently tried the entire line, thanks to a generous NSTer, and didn’t love any of them, but thought Times Square was a good ride and brought some 80s flashbacks (in a good way 😉 ) IIRC, I just sprayed it on the back of one hand.
SOTD Opium Fleur de Shanghai. Warm, spicy, seasonally appropriate. Makes me happy ????
That really sounds lovely!
I occasionally have the urge to try the Opium and Paris flankers. There are a ton, though I’m not sure how easy they are to find. The last time I wore Opium (from a vintage bottle – it may even be the original release?) it was a little overwhelming. A flanker or the current might be a little easier to wear.
An old old hand me down sample of musc ravageur, which smells so different than the current stuff!
This makes its rep make sense.
The new stuff is too antiseptic, do I remember that right?
Late to this! Happy Tuesday!
1) SOTD: Boucheron, with Rose Jam shower gel underneath. Really regal and lovely!
2) Prepped a bunch of things for the Christmas weekend- lots of luxury food stuff, like caviar and prosciutto de Parma and cheeses in the fridge, sparkling wine too, and fixings for waffles on Christmas morning. Now only two more days of work and I can’t wait!
Ooh, fancy holiday viands – definitely ’tis the season. Oh, and thanks for the fancy-toiletries link yesterday…
Oh gosh, very fancy! I havd convinced people to come by the house instead of going out all the time! Weirdly even with the fancy food I am saving money. Whole Foods has prosciutto for $18/pound- you could maybe buy app plate of that at a restaurant! But this feeds 4-5, with bread, cheese olives and cremant!
Interesting that so many of us chose sandalwood scents today! My contribution is LL Santal 33.
Snow! Pretty, fluffy snow which should turn to rain this afternoon (just no ice tonight, I hope). In a spritz of Douceur de Siam, as I am doing holiday beauty salon stuff this morning, then holiday drinking this evening.
Hope you avoided the ice and had a great evening!
I tried Noël au Balcon for the second time. Nope, really don’t like it. OTH, literally and figuratively, I sprayed L’Eau d’Ambrée. I don’t know about its staying power yet, but I think it will be welcome in warmer weather.
I’m wearing MKK this morning for a day at the humane society. I figure I may as well smell like the animals. They seem to like it, too.
🙂 🙂
100% chance of rain all morning…so dreary although less so with a generous dose of Guerlain Teracotta! Going to snuggle in for a day of reading.
Such a crazy busy time of year….looking forward to the end of the week for some holiday peace. I am in my Shalimar edp today for strength!
Smelling great, KellyC.
I’m joining you this evening in a spritz of Shalimar EdC. Love it!
SJP Lovely, as always. I guess It’s my default signature scent, since It’s all I can wear to the office fall – spring.
In spirit I am wearing Box of Eels as well.
I’m always pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy Lovely. I should wear it more often!
Ha, then we are twins in spirit 🙂
The very last little dabs from a bottle of vintage L’Origan parfum. (And I do mean vintage – a quarter-ounce bottle, unopened, in its pretty ’20s era box. I’ve loved it to the last drop).
“Unopened” when I first bought it, that is. 😉
What a great thing to have!
SOTD = Mitsouko EdP, from the sample stash. This is one of the samples which had less in it than I remembered, so it’s a sign that I ought to quit saving it and just enjoy it.
Today I’m wearing vintage Lancôme Sikkim Perfume Extrait…….it’s stunning. They don’t make anything like it today.
Am in Gourmand Coquin. Perfect for the holidays, or any time of year, as I enjoyed it tremendously this summer as well.
I got an email from ParfuMaria (in the Netherlands) yesterday letting me know they have the bottle I wanted back in stock. I’ve been looking for both Nobile 1942 Patchouli and Ambra in the travel-sized 13 ml bottles but I haven’t been able to find any other stockists than ParfuMaria. When I found them there in October/early November, it was going to cost about $60 for one 13 ml bottle (including shipping) and another $15 or so for the 2nd bottle. Since they were out of the Ambra, I’ve been waiting for it to come back in stock, as $75 for 2 travel bottles seemed reasonable enough.
In the meantime Parfumaria’s shipping prices have shot out the window. Each travel-sized bottle is 20 euros, but when I put it in my cart today and started the checkout process, the total cost was going to be 160 euros. !!!!! (It also appears that the travel bottle price went up from 15 to 20 euros.)
I guess there have been some new laws passed restricting worldwide shipping (?) Have other people found that shipping from Europe to the US has suddenly become prohibitively expensive?
To ship to the US, First in Fragrance wants a minimum order of 520 Euros for free shipping, and a minimum order of 400 Euros with shipping costs of 58,74 Euros. They won’t fill an overseas order of less than 400 Euros. I don’t usually buy in such quantities; it might be easier to go In with other people wanting to buy at the same time.
Wearing another vintage favorite today. Samsara EDP from the clear bottle. The sandalwood in this fragrance is stunning. Only Two sprays lasted all day. Hoarding my bottle.
Very late to the party. I had a call with a colleague in Asia and the other one was a no show. I try to schedule my evening calls for the same evening but it doesn’t always work out.
SOTD = 31 RC (2) and No.19 EDP (8)
Nice combo. 31RC was very prominent despite it being 1/4 the volume. I may wear this combo again.
SOTE = Rising Phoenix Sicilian Vanilla attar. OMG. Smokey benzoic vanilla. Reminds me quite a bit of Aftelier Vanilla Smoke. Sicilian Vanilla attar is heftier (faded denims with scruffy knee-high boots) while Vanilla Smoke is daintier and brighter (embroidered denims with suede ankle boots).
