It's Hump Day! Plus, happy Saint Nicholas Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Tom Ford White Patchouli.
Reminder: 12/8 will be Patchouli Friday...what it says!
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
In Pacifica Tibetan Mountain Temple, a favorite with a good amount of patchouli. Nice for a grey, cold, windy day.
I hope any NSTers in California near the fire area are sound and safe. Take care everyone!
Scent twins! I love Tibetan Mountain Temple when the weather actually gets cooler.
Hi twin! We smell good! 🙂
TMT is wonderful – you both smell great!
Thank you! 🙂
Time to get my bottle out! I keep forgetting to do that.
Don’t delay! ????
Good morning! I’ve hopped on the patch train in Equipage. It is nice.
Very nice!

You smell great Bear!
Thanks cazaubon!

I have never sniffed any of the Mugler men’s scents. Must remedy that! So many of them seem as though they’d appeal to me.
I haven’t smelled them, either. So I’m in the same boat you are.
More patch in HdP’s Noir Patchouli. Reminds me of the scent of Caswell-Massey’s sadly discontinued Aura of Patchouli soap. It’s very nice, especially since the weather here in AZ has finally cooled off.
I remember that one! Nice pick.
I do miss that soap, their body products were so enjoyable.
I still spring for an Elixir of Love soap once in a while, and my dad likes the Presidential soap collection (which is an easy gift), but Aura of Patchouli was my true Caswell-Massey love. I tried the Atelier Mistral Patchouli soap (which I think is also discontinued?) and didn’t enjoy it nearly as much.
Coffee not quite as strong as Bear’s. Espresso mixed with quite a bit of milk…necessarily lukewarm but does the job.
I don’t think I own many in the patch world…may have to dig around in samples. But…am fine to wear my own little comfort blanket of Angel Muse. This could just carry me through the week.
I sometimes microwave the milk for 15 or 20 seconds before adding the espresso – it’s still lukewarm that way, but less so.
I do that, too. It also sweetens the milk a bit when it’s heated, which I like.
Will try that. I was just talking about how I love steamed milk with honey.
Angel Muse is yummy!
I sat next to a woman the other night who had a copious amount of Angel, the original, and I was totally nauseous the whole time. I kept leaning away from her and figured it was too rude to get up and move to another table. The TM scents need light application, always.
That happened to me in a movie theater once, but it wasn’t Angel. And I did get up and move as it was giving me a headache and a sore throat.
I agree, I do wear Angel (and Youth Dew, the original olfactory-nose blaster) but one spritz only. It actually smells quite nice lightly applied.
Definitely agree! It’s not one of the top sellers for nothin!
SOTD: The Taste of Fragance for Men (Thierry Mugler). Haven’t worn it in ages, this is a beast! 🙂
That was such a great set.
Wearing Uncle Serge’s Daim Blond.
Another one I love, and it seems a wintery one to me.
Such a beautiful fruity suede scent!
One of my favorites from Uncle Serge, you smell lovely!
When I smelled this, it was the first time I realized that perfume didn’t always have to smell like flowers or musk. It was an eye opener.
That’s similar to my fall down the rabbit hole (I think it was Feminite du Bois), and it’s why I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Serge Lutens.
I think this perfume has one of the most beautiful and elegant suede notes I’ve experienced in a perfume.
It’s OJ Woman for me today. I’ll have to check, but it might be the only fragrance I own that has noticeable vetiver. In any case, it’s a little slice of hemlock-y heaven.
I love that one,you smell great 🙂
Yes- heaven!
That’s on my FB Christmas wish list! I think it’s perfection. You smell great!
I happily won the Tigerlilly sample box so I pulled out Parfums Quartan Wolfsbane. The website says patchouli is one of the notes init but I don’t notice it. That is fine as it is not a favorite of mine. This seems nice. I will see how it goes today.
The Quartana line is a fun one. Unusual scents that didn’t remind me much of other scents. Congrats on your win!
SOTD is Lush/Gorilla Rentless, the solid version. Earthy, dirty and sweet (but not cloyingly sweet) patchouli scent.
This sounds right up my power zone! I need to try this one. Does it come in body products?
Unless you count Rentless washcard, no. A lot of people find Rentless very similar to Lush Lord of Misrule shower cream and bath bomb, though. Lord of Misrule combines the notes of patchouli, pepper and vanilla. While both scents are sweet, earthy and spicy patchouli scents, I find them distinctly different (but both are worthy of attention).
I must say that Rentless is a shape-shifter on my skin. Sometimes it’s a lovely sweet patchouli with spices. Sometimes it smells like an ashtray sprinkled with wet soil. I still do not know what to think of it. 🙂
If they made Lord of Misrule into a perfume I’d be all over it. Love that stuff.
Lush UK currently sells Lord of Misrule in the solid perfume and body spray versions on their website. Unfortunately they do not ship body sprays outside the UK, but they do ship solids internationally.
I liked Rentless but solid perfumes don’t do it for me. If they had a spray I’d be tempted.
They do have a liquid version of Rentless (30 ml and 100 ml on UK website), and it looks like both bottles have a spray.
https://uk.lush.com/products/new-products/rentless
They had the liquid at one Manhattan store, so maybe it depends on the individual store?
In Vanilla Flash today, for a chiropractor appointment and a couple of errands. It will rain all day today, so the errand list might be curtailed accordingly.
Y’all stay safe and warm and fragrant today! ????
Hope the appt goes well — you do smell fantastic!
Today’s SOTD is Halston Couture by Halston – I do adore this Chypre (very heavy on the woods). It’s Patchouli, jasmine, rose, amber, oakmoss and probably more patchouli in the base. My bottle is from the early 1990’s.
I never did try the Couture scent, it is a flanker to the original?
Hi Robin,
It may be, it’s the same original Elsa Peretti bottle design (tear drop shaped) but the top is polished silver.. It’s gorgeous stuff, if I were to describe the scent, it’s sits perfectly between Paloma Picasso and Knowing with some of the dryness of Aromatics Elixir without the intensity of the herbal notes.
Guerlain Idylle – lily, rose, musk and patchouli
You smell pretty!
Not a Patchouli day. Wearing the DSH Chataignes du Bois rollerball that I won in a draw on cafleurebon. Opens with an interesting chestnut note (not one I have smelled in perfume before) and then some light maple syrup sweetness. A hint of smokiness in my skin and finally a nice woodsy blend of all of it for the drydown. A nice choice for the holidays. From the rollerball it is a skin scent but it is nice for work where I don’t want too much projection. A winner in my book. Will enjoy throughout the holidays.
I have only worn it once so far, but I liked it too.
That sounds delicious. I need to try it!!
L’Arte di Gucci for me today (because it seems the only way I like patch is a) aged and b) with rose). I smell far too luxurious to be spending the day getting out Christmas decorations and doing errands. 🙂
I’ve never though of it as a patchouli fragrance, but it’s gorgeous, and I think it was you who actually introduced to me. 🙂 I’ve recently bought a backup mini.
I think you’re right, it’s not actually A Patchouli Fragrance, but my patch radar is sensitive. 🙂
Glad you’re enjoying it too.
Ooops, jumped the patchouli gun yesterday. I thought I had a sample of Coromandel around for today, but I used it up! So now I have to think about what I’ll wear on Friday, and if I actually have any patch scents beyond Rose Anonyme.
Anyway, wearing Devil’s Nightcap today. Like patch, it is also strong, and neither entirely pleasing nor entirely displeasing to the nose.
PSA–LUSH has brought back a bunch of scents on their website that were previously discontinued. I will almost certainly pick up Smell of Weather Turning (once I verify in person that it smells the same and there are no weird reformulations).
The Herald Square Lush had that one -and what looked like most of the line.
yes! running there now…
AG Mon Parfum Chéri par Camille. Need to dig around and see if I can find my bottle of Borneo for tomorrow, been wanting to wear it for a while.
Oooh you smell good. Haven’t worn that in a while. I’ll have to fix that soon!
I think I’ll wear that one tomorrow, u smell lovely and glamorous!
You smell gorgeous! It has been discontinued again!
Le Labo The Noir 29 to go with my Jasmine Tea deodorant, which is running in the so-far-so-good column. About to go brew some Earl Grey in a minute to complete my all-encompassing tea-ness.
Kitty update: The hubby’s resolve is breaking down. Pending a check at the vet on Saturday, I expect we will adding a new fuzz-face to our clan!
Excellent news about the new feline!
Yay!! Hope all goes well at the vet and we can be wishing you conCATulations soon!
Hurrah for new fuzzy !!
Yay for fuzzy faces!
That’s so awesome about the new kitteh!
Congrats !????
SOTD is NV Mohur extrait from a quickly diminishing sample. I have a bottle of the EDP but this version is just so beautiful! Been trying to practice restraint; it seems like there are perfume sales everywhere I look and it is taking all my strength not to break my credit card!!
It is hard! I have almost bought Pichola about 20 times now.
No patchouli for me today. I’m wearing Alien The Taste of Fragrance. I wanted to use my BBW Caramel Apricot body butter, and this is my best perfume match for it. Plus, I just love it!
That body butter sounds fantastic!
It really is. The scent lasts and projects, it really can be worn by itself. Very yummy smelling☺
Need to pull out my patch scents and get ’em on!
I’m trying Glossier’s new You which is completely underwhelming and in fact, gone! It’s not bad going on, light iris, not much root, but then a lot of musk. Did a heavy spraying of this and still totally gone 3 hrs later. I’m a fan of a number of her products but this one is a fail in my opinion. Bottle is in that too cool category that it’s just weird.
Thanks for the report — that sounds about like what I would have imagined.
Wanted easy and cozy today, so wearing SL Clair de Musc. I think this one gets a bad rap, but I actually am finding it to be a perfect musk for me. Not too clean or too powdery. Not “too” anything, which maybe makes it boring to some, especially for a SL.
I think this one is very nice–so cozy, like a great hug, and the closest “dupe” I’ve found to Le Labo Musc 25–and MUCH MUCH cheaper!
They are similar, but I find the LL to be a bit cleaner and doesn’t last quite as long on me. I like the LL, too, but, yeah, $$$.
Dame Mate, Heliotrope and Patchouli from a sample. It’s lovely. I broke down yesterday and finally ordered a 5 ml sample of BFMV. I’m a vanilla lover, so I have high hopes for it, plus I look forward to see what other samples he will include with the order!
seeing
I also love vanilla, it took a couple of wearing for me to get along with BFMV, but now I love it. I really should get another 5ml myself.
I love the Mate, Heliotrope and Patchouli! I might wear it tomorrow.
I’m wearing Memo Paris Russian Leather. Fragrantica lists patchouli, which is good because I had meant to spray African Leather because of the patchouli and somehow got mixed up. I really can’t smell much patchouli or much leather or much of anything else after the first couple of hours.
Turns out I’ve been inadvertently participating in patchouli week by showering with a sample of patchouli-mint soap. I’m not a fan of patchouli normally, but it’s actually quite nice!
SOTD is Kuumba Made Oriental Musk with a few dabs of Zen incense body powder on top.
I tried the L’eau No.5 yesterday and really liked it…perhaps because it was such a hot day. Was very tempted. Had a nice picnic in the Invercargill botanic gardens. Every rose was in full bloom, and the lime (lindens) in blossom…what a combination. Next to the hospital and a long wait. There was a fascimile of the Treaty of Waitangi ( between the Crown and Maori) on the wall in the entrance…written in Maori. It had Richard Taylor’s signature on it…the missionary who described the grand Maori perfume. So Alex is on for his hip replacement next week. His knackered femur will be ground down into pellets and used for the bone graft packing out the ceramic and plastic replacement…there’s something a bit thrilling about grinding down bones ( fi fie fo fum etc.)
Best wishes to Alex and hoping it’ll be a smooth recovery. The thought of bone-grinding is giving me a shudder.
I hope all goes well for Alex, he has been through a very hard time.
Now there’s some real recycling. Wishing for the very best outcome and a speedy healing.
Best of luck with the surgery and recovery! He has youth on his side, so will recover quickly, I hope????????
I’ve had both hips done, and I can tell you that it made a huge difference and I was so glad I’d done it. It’ll be about one rough week and then much easier after that. Good luck!
Acqua e Zucchero by Profumum Roma: one spray deep inside many layers of winter woollies, one spray shared between wrists. Ten hours later I‘m scenting the tram home…
You definitely get your money’s worth with Profumum.
31 Rue Cambon for me today, to give me backbone during a minor operation/procedure, I really enjoy the Patchouli in it. I was very nervous, but Rue Cambon + lovely NHS dr and nurses did the trick.
Back home in bed, with a cup of Twinings China rose tea, and a cinnamon bun now. So relieved it’s over!
Glad it went well and your back home resting!
Well done (to you and the NHS)!
Glad it went well and you’re enjoying your tea and cinnamon bun. You smell great, too!
Wishing you a speedy recovery. You sure went under in style!
glad everything went smoothly, hope you heal quickly!
Hope you feel better soon!
Glad it went well! Tea and cinnamon buns can cure any ailment.
Thanks so much for well wishes, you’re all very kind. I’m feeling a lot better, the bun was very tasty!
Good morning, all. I’m drifting towards a long day, trying to pretend it’s not really going to happen: work, work, work, MEETING (tricky, likely to be full of difficult conversations), two hours to kill, then a kind-of-compulsory dinner with the Dean. He’s a really nice guy, and I totally respect him, but it won’t be a politics-free situation. Ordinarily, I’d be all on my mettle, and happy to play political games, but today I’ve woken tired from poor sleep and anxious dreams, and I’d rather come straight home, have a poached egg on toast, and fall into bed.
The scent for this long day exercised me, but in the end, I settled on Cristalle. Our weather has settled into cloudless heat, and nothing cuts through heat the way Cristalle does. It lasts well on my skin, it’s sophisticated enough for dinner, it won’t (especially by this evening) be impolitely assertive at the dinner table. I’m teaming it with a little blue silk shift dress. I can fling on a necklace and some black stockings and high heels, and voila ( or as a hapless student once wrote, “viola!” ), I have moved sartorially from work to the different game.
Thank you for all your well-wishing about Eric’s Incident yesterday. I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t get back to NST until very late in our day, by which time, I hope that most of you were sleeping the sleep of the just and wise. We haven’t sorted out how The Incident occurred, but we are Taking Steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Be well, all.
Thanks for these wonderful posts. They always cheer me up (viola!). Hope all is well with Eric. May your long day go well!
I caught up on the Eric shenanigans last night – I understand your fright!
I had to backtrack to read about the incident..somehow I missed it. Oh my…heartstopping! Hope Cristalle carries you through.
Ateliers des Ors Lune Feline. It’s a nice vanilla. I think there would be more to it if I could just get well from this cold/sinus stuff.
Today is Mr SP’s neuro appointment. We are pretty worried about some symptoms he is having – no diagnosis yet. Please send good healing vibes.
Thinking of you both and hoping for positive news!
Hoping for a good outcome for you both.
Will keep you both in my thoughts!
Hope everything goes fine. Sending positive vibes.
I hope all is OK.
Sending good vibes for both of you. Big hugs!
Good vibes and healing thoughts for you both.
Oh, I’ve been thinking about you all week. I will light a candle for you both when I get home. Keep us posted.
So hoping all is well, thinking of u both.
Fingers crossed for positive vibes and good news!
Patchouli overdrive: Last night in Aromatics Elixir. Today Ylang 49!
Oh, Ylang 49! Wouldn’t have thought of that one. Lovely!
It is a patchouli bomb on me. But I do love it.
you smell amazing!
I never think of patchouli with Ylang but it is definitely there trussing things up under all those flowers. You smell great.
My favorite Le Labo. The patchouli is not a stealth player on me. Either my skin amps it up, or my nose has special patchouli receptors–but I think if it as a patchouli scent.
I tried Ylang 49 for second time in Liberty on Saturday, and am utterly smitten, u smell wonderful!
I get loads of compliments when I wear it.
April Aromatics Bohemian Spice for my patchouli fix today. I got it in a split from the lovely hajusuuri. It’s delightful and warming. Spices, patch, and incense. It seems to share qualities with the Monsieur I wore yesterday and also reminds me of something else I can’t pinpoint.
You smell WON-DER-FUL today!
Wearing Ile Pourpre by Liquides Imaginaires today. St. Nicholas Day is one of my favorite days. Growing up, the night before it meant going to the basement and getting out our Christmas stockings for St. Nicholas to leave us presents. I know traditionally it’s leaving out shoes, but for whatever reason my father grew up with setting out stockings, so we do the same. And as a kid it also signaled that Christmas was coming soon (in addition to our Advent Wreath).
That’s a lovely memory!
What a nice memory! We put our shoes out in France, but I always found socks more practical. 🙂
Such a lovely memory! I’ve just read my children a story called ‘Noel for Jeanne Marie’, where the little protagonist leaves her wooden shoes out for Pere Noel, it’s beautifully illustrated, by ‘Francois’, I think u would really enjoy it.
I just ordered it for my niece and nephew! Thanks!!!
I’m in Jo Malone Amber & Patchouli today. I am loving it. I wish I’d sprayed a bit more and would also love to smell this on my guy.
You smell great!
Inspired by ScentSpirit, I’m wearing African Memo today for a classical music performance at lunchtime. I might do some sniffing while I am downtown and also look for a winter hat that isn’t knitted, still covers my ears, and doesn’t look like I should be wearing camouflage or mushing a dogsled.
great choice!
African Leather by Memo, sheesh!
I would love to hear if you find such a hat, I could use one of those myself.
Well, I tried to be your twin today. Does it last any better than the Russian Leather?
Good luck with your winter hat search!
SOTD is fear! Was hearing water for my morning coffee when my entire butane stove went up in flames! There must have been a leak in the line or something, but it totally woke me up in a way coffee never could!
Luckily, the stove was right by he side door, so I was able to reach over (almost set my fleece on fire!), open the door and flip the entire mess out the door. A huge crash ensued as the stove, teapot, and butane canister hit the pavement. Fun times! Geez. Now I really need some coffee.
The left over scent from last night was a hit of Chypre Mousse (thanks Foxbins!). I am of two minds with this one…????
Geez, that’s scary! Glad you’re ok, though. Fire seems to be a theme as if late. It’s kind of freaking me out.
Yes, fire freaks me out too! I rarely use the stove inside the van, and now will probably never do so again.
Holy cow — so glad that didn’t turn out way worse!! Hope you will manage to get a coffee.
I did! And I got my travel spray of Yin/Ylang and Equestrian, so alls well that ends well????
oh no! glad you weren’t hurt! hope you stay safe and get some coffee soon!
Thanks!
So scary! Glad you and T-Rex are fine!
T-Rex was too busy eating her kibble to notice anything. She has tremendous focus????
I’m so glad you got it out the door before something else caught on fire!
BTW, I don’t think I gave you any Chypre Mousse…did you get some somewhere else? I remember Cuir Mauresque and that Brandy/Fig thing of Dawn’s…but then I can’t remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.
You know what? I KNOW you gave me a decant of Cuir Mauresque and I remember we talked about the no label issue, which really wasn’t needed because I could identify that one with my eyes closed! But this is not that???? The only other one I could think of was Chypre Mousse…I remember liking the brandy fig thing but this is not that either, I don’t think… I’m old, and apparently not to be trusted with stoves and other flammable materials…it’s a mystery.
Well that was a dramatic start to the day! Who needs coffee after that. Reminds me of the caffeine-free diet pepsi ad, « without the caffeine, because life is exciting enough! ». Glad to hear you weren’t hurt.
Thanks! We’re good, and on our way to a hike. The sun is GLORIOUS here today????????
I’ve almost set myself on fire for coffee. ????
JK, no offense, I can’t resist joking/teasing. ????
Glad everything is OK, Deva! ????????
The beginning of Chypre Mousse smells like original formulation Listerine, on my skin.
Then it gets better.
LOLOLOL ????????
Couldn’t get worse, right ?????
Triple strength coffee ☕☕☕
STAT!
????????????
Coffee is worth setting yourself on fire for ????
Geez that’s scary! Glad you’re okay!
That’s terrifying! Glad for your quick reaction.
I’m glad you are OK. Fire is one of the scariest things ever. Deva, I just think you are so strong and brave to be doing all you are. Please stay safe.
Ha! That’s very kind of you but really it’s none of those attributes. It’s sheer curiosity and nosiness! When I’m kicking it for real, I don’t want to my last thought to be “What if?”
Yikes! That will certainly get the pulse racing. Glad you have such quick reaction time!
Yikes! is right. ????
How awful! So glad that you’re okay! Please consider getting a fire extinguisher. I know you can find them at Lowes and Home Depot. Probably at Walmart as well. They sell small ones that would work for travel.
Petunia, you are so right! That was very remiss of me and I will stop at Lowe’s tonight and pick one up. You’re a gem for thinking of it????
That is a great idea and I wouldn’t have thought of it either. I guess all those required annual fire safety reviews aren’t working very well.
I’m so pleased. We own rental property and supply an extinguisher in each apartment. I’m very fond of them and want them to be safe.
Holy bleep! That would be a heart pounding near miss for anyone first thing in the morning! Seconding Petunia’s suggestion for a fire extinguisher. I used to keep one in my car, just in case.
Jalapeño, you’re way smarter than me! I will pick one up ASAP.
Serge Lutens’ De Profundis today. It’s a cold floral to my nose that makes me think of cold nights , but it also works well in the heat, I’ve discovered. Our fabulous weather continues, I’m excited about it, but farmers are starting to worry about drought.
You smell lovely. I love to wear it on a crisp fall day.
It’s gray and cold outside today so I am wearing Lyric today. I am waiting for my nephews’ Christmas list. While I wait for that, I am looking at the Toys R Us website.
You smell lovely, Lyric is wonderful.
Coromandel EDT. Patch heaven.
Yes, you do smell heavenly!
Second that!
Today was Puredistance Sheiduna kind of day.
It does have patchouli among other notes.
I don’t feel guilty. I have no shame today 😉
I haven’t tried Sheiduna. How do you like it? Really love this line. I’d own several if the prices weren’t so rediculously high.
I went with 1000 Flowers Reglisse Noire from a sample I forgot I had. I really need to get a bottle of this one. It’s so good. Supposedly it has patch in it, but it’s not obvious to me.
It’s Andy Tauer’s Rose of Kandahar for me today. Lovely, lovely rose with plenty of patchouli – although maybe that’s because my skin amplifies patch wherever it finds it.
Yum, great SotD
Delish! That may be my choice for tomorrow. You smell wonderful????
Yum!
I don’t smell patchouli in PHI, mostly rose, tobacco and apricot, but it is a fantastic scent!
So good! Thanks for the info on the notes. I do have my sample with me here in Orlando; the weather is going to cool down in the next 2 days so it will be awesome on Friday.
Currently I’m wearing vintage Krizia for bedtime from a mini I bought here on my last trip.
SOTD yesterday was Parfumeri Generale “Intrigant Patchouli”.
Notes are ginger, sandalwood, amber, patchouli, musk and benzoin.
About as intriguing as brown bread, but hey ho.
SOTD today is Jovoy “Private Label”
Top: papyrus, vetiver, leather;
Mid: patchouli, sandalwood;
Base: labdanum
Well, 3 patchoulis into patchouli week and it’s not doing a lot for me. :^)
That’s okay Koenigsberg, more patch for me. ????
Intrigant Patchouli smelled like wintergreen pain relief patches to me.
*snort*????
SOTD is Sballo a lovely rough and resinous salty rose/geranium/hay/chypre . I’ve never smelled anything similar. The listed notes do not include patchouli but it does smell like it’s in there.
I’m so curious about Sballo and your description just amplified my curiosity! Must get my mitts on a sample.
Happy to send you some if you don’t mind waiting for a bit for a sample? If so, please drop a line to llombardi underscore 42 at the hawt male.
That is so sweet of you to offer, but I’m up in Canada and postage would be too silly to bother you to do that. ❤️
STC has samples and Luckyscent.
I’m hoping that any NSTers in southern California are OK. I saw the update on the fires in that area earlier today. Scary stuff.
SOTD = Soivohle’s Patchou Minimal, from the sample stash. This is one of the new-ish scents, and it is a polished patchouli.
The images online look like they are straight out of hell. Such an incredible loss for all. Will take years to recover, I’m sure.
SotD = Insolence EdT
Hey ho, NST, it’s so late in the day I almost didn’t make it here, but I decided I didn’t want to miss today’s loveliness. You all smell(ed) marvelous.
Hope everyone is tucked in for the night. Catch you on the flip side!
Hello all, I’ve been AWOL for a few days while helping my mother move to Texas for the winter and working out arrangements at her (rented) condo in Galveston. Lots to take care of including Internet, many groceries and supplies, and (thank goodness) a helpful care-giver for days I am not able to be around. It was all rather stressful and that wasn’t helped by a sudden weather front and horrendous weather. (On our flight down we circled Houston awhile and then had to go to Dallas to refuel and wait for the airport to re-open, making for an especially long tough day). I am happy about the current week’s project, as a patchouli lover, and joined in (finally) tonight by many sprays of Perris Monte Carlo Patchouli Nosy Be. It’s striking me as rather sour tonight, so that the supposedly strong notes of cocoa and vanilla are not standing out. I think it’s the strong patchouli and labdanum taking center stage. I am going to drink wine, watch TV, and relax with a pile of cats on me (and the sad Persian, Armani, my recent rescue, scolding me from upstairs with his scratchy meow–he’s a very needy old boy). It’s gotten surprisingly cold here (down to 40!) and it’s rather nice to have all these furry bodies close by. I helped my mom set up some Christmas decorations and a little tree but now I’m so pooped I don’t have any energy for my own seasonal decorating. Maybe it’ll come back soon.
Wine and a lap full of cats will restore you! Oh, and a good nights sleep will help????
