Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, and welcome to December! Our community project for today: wear something by Annie Buzantian, Honorine Blanc or Daphné Bugey.
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm in Le Labo Lys 41, by Daphné Bugey. I always forget how pretty this one is.
Reminder: 12/8 will be Patchouli Friday...what it says!
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the organic bunny hat ("Every baby needs a little bit of warmth to keep their delicate heads covered. Why not do it in style with this adorable baby bunny pilot cap?") is $32 at Ellie Fun Day.
Happy Friday! I am in the very last dregs of my sample of Le Labo Bergamotte 22 by Daphné Bugey. I definitely need to replace this one!
I need more of it soon too. Wish LL were a little cheaper 🙂
Twins! I noticed putting this one on that my decant from an NST buddy had evaporated a lot, even since summer. There is a cheaper, but hard to find smell-alike in Frau Tonis Aventure, which I have a little mini of.
I tried Bergamotte 22 last weekend….My brother-in-law wears it, so of course I sprayed a bit when I saw the bottle in the guest room…LOL!
It’s GORGEOUS!!! 🙂
You smell wonderful!
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! 2017 is almost over I can’t believe it…
SOTD: Valentino Valentina Pink
Remember buying this bottle at a moment’s weakness (and it was on sale) pretty much for the bottle. Thanks to today’s challenge it’s once again a perfume instead of a display piece on my vanity 😛
Drinking: Latte with a touch of rose syrup from Monin. Pink!
That Valentina bottle is really really pretty.
Oh, a rose latte! That sounds lovely.
A rose latte does sound tasty!
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!
Wearing Kenzo Amour by Daphné Bugey. I have not worn it in a long time and today I find it cozy and inviting.
Have a happy Friday and beginning of December everyone!
Twins! My only scent that fits the project.
My only scent also! 🙂
Triplets. Love this stuff.
Wearing some of the last 3ml I own of Kenzo Amour Indian Holi. I love this version of Amour and wish they’d keep making it! The bottle is just totally awesome, too!
I love Indian Holy. I finished my bottle last year. Unfortunately, it was discontinued, but it still can be found online. I guess I will get another bottle at some point.
I wish I’d snapped up another bottle years ago. Now it’s still online, but getting very pricey.
I remembered to say Rabbit 3 Times
Le Labo Neroli
I remembered too! Yay us. 😉
Twins. I’m sampling the Neroli 36. Had a trouble with it for the first hour. Something bitter I picked up, but not in a good way. It has dried down now to a nice neroli-jasmin-tonka, pretty but more of a skin scent on me (I applied it with a dauber, so that may be part of the issue).
How does this one work for you?
I am not a fan, and finished the sample today and happy its gone!
Triple rabbit
Triple strength coffee
Extra long workout
Triple day weekend ’cause everyone was excused from jury duty for Friday December 1, 2017
Giorgio Armani Onde Extase one of a trio , but not that one that would qualify for the community challenge (that would be Vertige)

“Are you ready?”Triple ???? ….
and I thought the earthquake was a prank!,
No Daphné or anything by the other perfumers sadly.
I did just open my Aftelier gift order and some Dame goodies as well, so,I will be happy with that. The new Aftelier frankincense for a friend and the Jasmine oil for me, and Dame’s Narcissus for ME because of all the Tatianna references here on NST!
I am curious about his orange blossom as well so I ordered a sample of that with Fathersky. “We gotta rock the mother”
????????????????????????????????????????????????????
????????
I’m wearing Rose Flash from a Tauerville sample set. I need the Rose Delight body oil to complement it.
That oil is amazing.
I love Rose Flash so much. It was my bedtime scent for months back when I lived alone. It used to show up in my dreams.
Ha! How does it show up? Do you smell it? Of course now I’m thinking does our brain stop processing smell when it is in sleep mode
Yup, I smell it! I’ve heard people say you don’t smell things in your dreams, but I have not found that to be true for me. I smell things real and imagined in my dreams all the time!
Priscilla, I have a bottle Rose Delight oil that is looking for a good home! I’ve worn it twice, and it just doesn’t agree with my skin. So many of you have been so kind to me with samples and (even a bottle!) that I’d love to pay it forward!
Email me at jadwae99 at gmail and I’ll mail it out tomorrow! Merry Christmas!
Thanks so much. I agree, the NST family are so generous. Emailing you now.
I completely forgot to rabbit! 🙁
I’m in L’Orpheline, one of my favorite Serge Lutens (of the ones I’ve smelled). Both cool and hot, austere yet compelling. I wouldn’t mind buying this in 100ml when my bottle runs dry.
I also like this a lot. I don’t think it got very good reviews but it’s one of the only recent Serges that I’ve purchased. You’re right about the austere yet compelling quality of it. That’s me! Ha ha. At least, an aspirational self-description!
I think Angela liked it, right? And I think Gaia at the Non-Blonde was smitten, but maybe I am misremembering.
I am a Houstonian! Born and mostly raised. I looove Kuhl-Linscomb. I hope you took advantage of their 20% off sale last weekend for Small Business Saturday! I wish I’d had a few hundred dollars more to pick up some faves. 🙂
PS Aren’t you in Houston also? You can try almost any Serge fragrance at Kuhl-Linscomb on Alabama near Kirby. They’re very helpful and easy-going there about testing.
Not participating, although I seem to remember I have a sample of Le Labo Lys somewhere. I’m wearing the beautiful Rose Nacrée du Désert by Guerlain, and some Vacances.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, I think we will be blessed with more rain, but that’s winter in the Netherlands 🙂
We are having weirdly nice weather for December — sorry about your rain!
I think on average your winters are far worse than ours, so I’m not really complaining. I hate the short days though, more so than I used to.
I actually remembered to rabbit, rabbit, rabbit this morning!
I’m in Pleasures, my only scent from the list. Not a favorite but I have a mini (I think it was a GWP) and I enjoy it once in a while.
Such a cute little hat!
Isn’t that adorable?
No scents by the three listed so I am in l’artisan Bucoliques de Provence again. Very normal for work these days.
Oh, yes, now that I know what it is about — rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!
I adore Bucoliques, it’s very high on my wish list.
Here, winter begins on the 1st of December, so it’s welcome to winter for me. 🙂
Wearing a very summery Ginestet Sauvignonne, since I have no scents for today’s project.
I look forward to the patchouli week!
Glad someone is looking forward to patchouli week! It’s not my favorite note.
When I say Patchouli Friday in the list of projects, I thought it was noble of you, since you do not like this note. 🙂 I hope you still find something you enjoy wearing.
say = saw
Oh, I will come up with something I can tolerate 🙂
I’m also looking forward to patchouli week. Coincidentally last night I was watching a new YouTube video titled “…20 Favorite Patchouli Fragrances By 2 Patch Hos…”
Thanks! A very informative video, and out of all the stuff they mentioned I only have five fragrances. I’ve added several patchouli scents to my test list. Zagara e Patchouli sounds especially intriguing.
PSA: There will be a perfume meet-up at South Coast Plaza this Sunday around 11 am in you’re in the SoCal area. Please reach out to me at gmail where I am called sherainsocal if interested. I will be sending out an email tonight to folks attending to confirm the details…can’t wait to see everyone!
Today I shall be wearing some L’Instant circa 2004 I found for a song on Ebay. I realized I never tried the older Guerlains and have made a point to do so…will weigh in later on the ‘fume….the juice is a beautiful amber color…that let’s you know it’s not reformulated… 😉
Happy Friday to all.
What fun, wish I could join you!
I was there on Wednesday morning. I ran in and out of Nordstrom to exchange a pair of boots. I did not go to the fragrances or even set foot into the mall.
I didn’t know I was capable of such restraint.
I’m in Tabac Blond extrait, courtesy of a very kind NSTer. Must track down more of this – it’s wonderful.
Yum, you smell great!
You smell great!
Time to put away the fall decor and start inching toward decorating for Christmas. Maybe I’ll just put out my Nativity set today.
Found a couple of Daphne Bugey samples and am still trying to decide which to wear: Kenzo Amour or LL Lys 41. Maybe one on each wrist? yeah.
I’ve got a Ylang 49 sample too, but it is SO AWFUl on my skin (though very pretty on paper) that I’m not even considering it.
Okay, two hours later and K Amour is nicer than I remembered it (I just had to suffer through the hints of Play-doh earlier), but the Lys 41 is WORKIN MA LAST NOIVE.
There’s a jasmine material that often bothers me — last time I noticed it was in that Jennifer Aniston fragrance, but it’s in a buncha stuff. It gets screechy and chem-lab-y, and it makes me want to smash things. I didn’t notice it last time I wore Lys 41, but BOY HOWDY is it annoying me now. Time to scrub.
That’s so funny! Or not. Hope you managed to get it off.
I have the same problem with those two Le Labo fragrances, especially the one that claims to be a chypre. They commit suicide on my skin is how I put it. My friend B says they turn into a chemical mess on me. So it’s not just you! (My husband is a biochemist, by the way, and he completely believes in skin chemistry because everyone has a different skin microbiome and the microbiome could really have an affect on how things smell on you.)
Rabbit x 3. I never remember.
I will be in Eau d’Italie’s Graine de Joie by Daphne Bugey at least for this morning. I might be the only perfumista who likes this one. It’s not at its best on a cool winter day, however, so I will most likely change this afternoon.
I did not remember first thing this morning either!
Happy Friday and Happy December. I am so glad to see the end of this extremely challenging week!
I loved She Wood by Bugey, and long since used up my sample. Can’t participate in this week’s theme. But I finished up my tiny sample of MPG’s Ambre Precieux Ultime this morning, thus making my goal of using up 24 samples this year!
Nice job. I have been trying to do the same, but probably only finished five. I have realized I am a “serial sampler.” Sampling is so fun and prevents full bottle remorse, BUT I’d like to have the guts to commit to a few more bottles – once . I weed out some that I don’t love anymore.
Maybe that would be a good Friday community theme – What type of perfumista are you? A serial sampler or a decant diva or an unsniffed gambler or full bottle collector?
Half-twin! :^)
Estee Lauder Sensuous! Pretty sure it’s the only one by any of these perfumers that I have, but it’s a favorite.
Jo Malone Jade Leaf.
Robin, I love when I experience the “I forgot how pretty or good this one is” with a fragrance.
Yes, isn’t that fun! (And I feel bad that I never did try a single one of the rare teas, and couldn’t even remember what Jade Leaf was for a minute, had to google.)
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! I’m not taking any chances this month.
SotD = Lys 41
This was an easy choice, the only scent I have that fits today’s project. I like it dabbed gently. The tuberose note reminds me of my beloved Oscar.
Waft on with confidence and hope through all crises, good people of NST. I hope your Friday goes well.
What a nice wish for all of us! Thanks and you, too!
It is a nice wish. I have to give credit for the sentiment to a knitting genius named Elizabeth Zimmermann who often wrote “Knit on with confidence and hope through all crises” when she signed her books.
Happy to hear you are fragrant today
Have a great Friday!
It was a good Friday. I hope yours was too. 🙂
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit
Wearing Slumberhouse’s Pear + Olive on a warm, wet day
Happy December everyone.
Was thinking of you this morning. How are you?
Honestly, I am in a lot of pain.
I am hoping the biopsy results come back quickly so that I can get what needs to be done taken care of.
Thank for asking – I appreciate the thoughts.
Still thinking of you! I really do hope all these thoughts will bring good results.
Thinking of u too hannahmom, hope results come back swiftly and all well.
So sorry to read this; best wishes for speedy and positive results.
My fingers are crossed that you will have time to rest and recover in the weekend. Hope things are looking up soon.
Sending you my wishes for strength, luck & comfort!, Here’s hoping you have a lovely, carefree holiday!
I am so sorry to hear you’re in pain, I hope things can be resolved soon.
Prayers and good thoughts for you Hannahmom.
Thinking of you and hoping you can find some relief from your discomfort.
Prayers for you and hoping you get some good news quickly, and are soon feeling better.
Sorry to hear that you are in pain from the biopsy.
I was planning to wear Natori Josie by Honorine Blanc this morning, but I seem to have misplaced it. Just as well because I wasn’t really in the mood to wear it. So instead I’m off-theme and wearing Cuir d’Ange instead.
TGIF! As usual, I forgot about Rab3bit, but because I’ve finally remembered the Friday SOTD *before* spritzing the first thing that comes into my head, I’ll take that as a win.
I’m wearing Honorine Blanc’s gorgeous Regal Tuberose for the Eric Buterbaugh line. It is my HG tuberose, and possibly my spendiest perfume purchase ever. (Confession: I have no regrets spending the money for it!) I love tuberose, but struggle with its diva tendencies; tuberose scents tend to wear me, after the first hour or so.
Regal Tuberose, despite its name, is no ripe, fully blooming diva of a tuberose, but rather a young, fresh, green, tightly budded, slightly damp tuberose soliflore with amazing longevity. The sillage is right up there with other tuberose fragrances, however, so I still apply judiciously. RT is one of the rare fragrances for which I frequently receive compliments from strangers when I wear it (yay compliments!). It also works well for me throughout the year. While it’s a strange choice for the colder days of winter, I like it because, on those days, it embodies the hope of spring 🙂
That’s an interesting sounding fragrance that I now would like to try. Thanks for the description.
I love your avatar!
And Regal sounds awesome.
I also love tuberose (and jasmine) in winter.
That does really sound lovely. I love Apollo Hyacinth, finally broke down and bought a 10ml decant.
Ooh, that sounds lovely!
I don’t have much of anything by the three designated perfumers except for some of the Le Labo samples and I forgot to look for them and pack them before coming up north on my trip to collect my mom. So I’m wearing some of her YSL Paris to at least be in the general spirit of wearing a scent by a female perfumer. It’s a bit sweet but still beautiful. I might have to buy myself a little bottle of it. I enjoyed seeing frost on the grass in the sunshine this morning, but I’ll still be happy to get back home to Texas soon and avoid the snow forecast to come here next week!
PS Thanks to so many who posted their well wishes for my little Xena (only weighs 6 pounds). By report from home she is hanging in there and enjoying her Fancy Feast gravy food (it’s important for her to get nutrition from moist food now).
Oh phewsh.
Hope Xena continues to do well!
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!
I’m in the only thing I have for today- Black Opium by Honerine Blanc (with Marie Salamagne, Nathalie Lorson & Olivier Cresp). It’s okay, but honestly it surprises me it took 4 people to create this one. Is that a regular thing, using multiple perfumers for one scent?
I’ve been missing out for a few days, miss you all- life has been crazy with the injured bird and work. The good news is that Lucy is still making progress and the vet is very pleased (as of Wednesday) still! A long road ahead, but not going to lose her and she isn’t going to lose her leg, so yay!
I think it’s a credit/blame thang, like a work project that no one wants to be associated with until it is successful.
LOLOLOL ????????????
It is apparently a best seller, but head-scratchingly boring.
????????????
To each their own.
Glad you and Lucy are well, KellyC!
????????????
I can assure you, that Black Opium is not boring, when worn by me. Lol????????????????????✌????
Oh I’m sure lillyjo! ????
But I think you make the perfume hot, and not vice versa! ! ✌????????????????
Cheers! ☕☕☕????☕
????????
Now that made my day!????
I always think of you when I wear it! I did when I sprayed it this morning!
Ha! Was contemplating replacing my almost drained bottle the other day. Maybe…
Yay for Lucy!!
Glad Lucy is doing okay! I hope she will fully recover.
I never cared for Black Opium, and I see ahem smell no connection to the original Opium.
I don’t think it’s too bad, but it’s just a bit too sweet for me. I have a travel spray which I will happily finish but probably won’t get another after I’m done with it.
Fwiw, I had to stop trying to make a connection to original Opium before I could let myself enjoy Black Opium. Otherwise it was a huge letdown for me.
Good news about Lucy, indeed!
So glad Lucy is getting better!
So pleased about you’re bird, that’s so gr8 that she won’t lose her leg!
Scent twins. I had available the Le Labo Bergamot and Neroli as well, but I would rather wear those in warmer weather. Used up the last of my Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille body scrub in the shower so it’s a very sweet day.
I am so happy to hear about Lucy. Hope she has a full recovery very soon!
That’s wonderful news about Lucy. She sounds like a special gal. I thought seriously about getting a parrot some 10 years ago but ended up deciding against it. I was already too old! They really involve a serious commitment. Plus I travel too much. But I did manage to go to some great parrot stores (not sure that’s the right name) and meet/see some beauties back then.
Yes, they are a LOT of work and commitment. I travel a good bit, but my mom watches her when we are gone so that helps. She’s really good with her. And yes, since I’m 40 and she’s only 3, we will hopefully be together the rest of our lives. 🙂 Their life span (Eclectus) is about 30 years we think. I love birds!
Awesome news about Lucy!
Go, Lucy, go! Thank you for sharing the good bird news. 🙂
Checking in so very late but had to add my good wishes for a continued recovery for Lucy! That’s such great news!
Matching some of you in Lys 41. Have to be in work training for 4 hours. Have a good Friday!
Hope you enjoyed Lys 41 all day. I liked it all the way to the dry down, and enjoyed that part too. A nice surprise since I’m not a often a fan of a musky base.
Andy Tauer begins telling a 24-part story today, via video, and based on the first chapter he’s a gentle, calming storyteller.
“I have been waiting all year for this time: sharing and giving and telling a story. There will be draws, I will tell a story every day and you can be part of it.”
oooooh, very nice! Thank you for the reminder to visit Andy’s advent calendar.
My daughter and I were butting heads at six am about getting ready for school. In the mist of things I yelled out Rabbit rabbit rabbit! And she laughed and repeated it. We continued without incident:) sotd is MJ Decadence from the Annie B list. Happy Friday everyone!
That is such a cute story 🙂
Ha, see — it works! Instant good luck!
I am not able to join in on today’s ‘theme’, no Annie, no Honorine, no Daphne in my collection.
I am wearing Dryad today.
Mmm, that one is near the top of my try-list. Do you love it??
Yes, I bought a fb this summer.
The name may suggest something wild and woodsy but its pretty polite. I wear it to work quite often.
Lovely greens, herbs, flowers. Well balanced. Easy to wear.
Sillage is modest, longevity is good on my skin.
SOTD is SL 5 o’clock Gingembre, just because it felt right.
I can’t believe my nephew turns 47 today. It feels like five minutes ago my sister handed in to me with a baby Buddha fuzzy head in a yellow onesie. And now with two amazing daughters of his own.
Today is world aids day. I was interviewed by NPR about an article I wrote and they are running the story in Los Angeles. I hope I sound okay, not goofy.
Awesome!
That’s awesome! I’m sure you were on point!
That’s so awesome! I’m sure you were wonderful!
How very cool. Yay for you! I’m sure you sounded perfect:)
Thank you! I don’t see being on podcasts as my future, but it actually sounded really nice.
My future is actually flying from Los Angeles to a Baltimore every Sunday starting this Sunday for the next 9 months. I have to leave my bottled children behind and take samples and rollers. I hate decanting. Have my new dame dark horse roller for first week out.
How cool to have been interviewed on NPR! Congrats!
Hello, fragrant friends! This week has been exhausting. I’m working from home today after a dentist’s appointment because my body feels like it’s given up and just refuses to provide me with any more support. Luckily, I’ve cushioned myself with Safran Troublant, and there is a certain warm little cat who has colonized my lap.
One more show tonight, two more shows tomorrow, and then I can spend Sunday just lying in bed and promising never to do this to myself again.
At least there is a cat for cuddles.
Yay for kitty cuddling.
I am wearing a scent by issey miyake.
I bought a FB of it many years ago, when it first came out.
I still love it’s bright greenliness, and it makes me very happy.
It is definitely reminiscent of Gucci Envy, but lighter and not as cold as Envy.
Hope that everyone is having a wonderful Friday!!
I am off to meet girlfriends for coffee!!
What’s this? Gucci Envy? Guess i will be blind buying it next time i see it at Marshalls.
My only sample that matched today’s project was Rose 31, and I just wasn’t feeling it. So I’m wearing Philosykos EDP and hoping that everyone has a wonderful, peaceful and healthful December.
You smell great! My favorite fig perfume!
As mentioned above, Kenzo Amour for me this morning. Still popping Advil or Excedrin on the tooth issue. Not sure it’s calming down. Really irritated by this whole thing, because I think my recent filling replacement caused the problem.
Quick stop at Clyde’s yesterday evening. It’s now 65% off. Not much left (thankfully). Snagged a lip gloss, a small necklace, took a flyer on some hair stuff. Anyone who is a fan of B. Kamins products should stop by. There seems to be a lot. I don’t know the line well enough to spend the money.
Hi Twin! I hope you feel better soon!
What a bummer about your tooth! Is there another visit to the dentist scheduled sometime soon?
Ouch on the tooth issue!
The Clyde’s sale reminds me of when Henri Bendell was getting rid of their perfume floor. I held back from buying Maria Candida Gentile at 65% off, hoping to snag several at 70 or 75% off. Silly me got shut out.
Not in synch, I don’t own anything by those three ladies. So I’m wearing vintage Bellodgia. I wanted something with a little punch, but pretty, because I’m getting my eyebrows microbladed later and I need a little backbone.
Wow, u smell amazing!
Wow! I’ve heard about that process, and I’ve wondered about having it done. Every morning when I put on makeup, I realise I have Disappearing Eyebrow Syndrome. No one ever warned me that DES was a symptom of advancing years and I’m not even a little bit pleased about it ????. As I get older, and that seems to be happening faster, I find I don’t care about my wrinkles and grey hair. What I mind is not being able to read without glasses, and the greying and thinning of my eyebrows.
Please tell us how it goes. I might just follow you under the blade.
In the interests of full honesty, I should have added to the glasses-DES confession that I also don’t do bare arms any longer, dammit! Well, not above elbow, that is.
Wow!
Please tell us about the microblading. I am considering Latisse for my eyebrows BUT have seen this done on some people.
So even though it’s called microblading, it is the oxymoronic ‘temporary tattoo’?
It the new socially correct term (formerly known as temp tattooing ????)
I have a feeling it’s not temporary. I think I’ve read that it’s permanent. And painful. But pretty.
It’s rather dreary work, having to delicately fill in gaps and darken brows every morning. I really hope for a great report from Foxbins.
You mean like permanent hair color, Bear?
I think it is a tattoo drawn like the hairs in eyebrows.
But that is from Googling, and I had it mixed in with microplaning before I Googled and that is exfoliation…………
Men !!!!!! ????
LOLOLOL ????????????????????????????????
????????
Good morning, all. It’s a very slow start to Saturday for me. I’m still pyjama-clad, only now drinking my first cup of tea, and just about beginning to drift into some form of productive thought processes. The only thing I ‘ve achieved so far —and it’s nearly seven o’clock— is to make a pot of tea and slow down the kitten riot with a first breakfast. Oh, and spray a pre-shower perfume: Acqua Viva. The photo-realistic lemony scent is doing a great deal to cut through the fog of this slow, warm morning. It’s so delicious, in fact, that I might well wear it post-shower as well. It’s a housework day. Acqua Viva, me, and the vacuum cleaner. Sounds like a good partnership…be well, all.
That actually sounds like a wonderful morning!
I’m not even out of bed by 7 am, so you are, by comparison, quite productive.
Did you manage to take care of the awful man colleague the other day, the one who was insulting and obnoxious? I hope he’s been put in his place!
Yes, thank you. He was so upset with me for accosting him on the matter that he won’t speak to me even casually without another person present. Eggzellent! works perfectly for me! If he emails me, he copyies in the HoS, the Dean, and any other important person he can think of. He probably BCCs the Vice Chancellor, the Queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Donald Trump for good measure…it makes me laugh. It’s not as though I’m a very significant or remotely scary person.
This cracked me up! Good for you.
I bought Acqua Viva at Fumerie. I met up with Ede97005 and AnnE (who is now in Cambridge, MA and much closer to me)
I sprayed my project options last night at bedtime to see which one would be tolerable for work- samples of Marc Jacobs decadence and Honey, and Marchesa Parfum d’Extase. I hated Honey and Decadence was just meh. The Marchesa is ok, just verrry clean. It’s mostly gone already so I can move on to something yummier.
I don’t think this was our most popular project ever! Sorry to narrow you down to hate & meh.
Friday!
It’s also Rosa Parks Day and World Aids Day!
1) Am in Boucheron, layered over Ortigia Sandalo soap- ran out of samples for today’s challenge! No matter, I smell lovely if I say so myself! 🙂
2) Tree is up, lights are up but I would like new velvet curtains, either in deep navy blue or in forest green, to go with the pinkish/golden walls. I bought silver curtains, but once I got them home, they did not look quite right. So off to the shops after work!
3) Bought some locally made perfume oils from local makers- will give away as gifts. Will tell y’all about it tomorrow as the name escapes me (I am doing end of year, so my brain is shattered).
Re: #2 For your consideration, perhaps get velvet curtains close to the pinkish/golden walls, then get thick rope tassels in the contrasting deep navy blue for fall & winter and forest green for spring & summer.
Hey friend!
I actually took your advice – sorta! I got silver velvet curtains, which is actually a nice contrast, and then green velvet tassles!
This was a silver velvet that was lighter in color- the first ones were not as light.
Oh cr-p! I forgot to do the rabbit thing.
SOTD = Puredistance Opardu
It is by Annie Buzantian. For a BWF, it is not in your face, probably due to the prominent lilac and tempering by the heliotrope. Rose is listed as a note but I don’t smell. Anyway, this is a love and thank goodness I have a 60mL bottle waiting in the wings for whenever my 17mL travel spray runs dry.
We’re having a cookie contest during our holiday party. I usually participate in the store-bought category but this time, I may do the least healthy using store bought stuff. I may donsomething with sprinkles, marshmallow fluff and whi knows what else. My ersnare open to any ideas you may have.
Scent twin! The first time I wore it I thought it was just meh but today I really like it. I made 2 apple pies and bought a cheese tray because I am on the roster for snack today and have received much adoration . I’m sure you will too hajusuuri.
More is more with Opardu. We smelled wonderful!
When I bring stuff, it is usually made by someone else 🙂
Yes to sugar laden Christmas cookies!!
Mmmmm 🙂
Have you considered gumdrops as a cookie topping?
Hmmm, didn’t think of that!
If you do Rice Krispy treats with sprinkles and various-colored granulated sugar as decoration, I guarantee victory.
To the brave go the spoils !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers, hajusuuri !
(laptop with no emojis 🙁 )
Rice Krispy treats – yumm.
I landed on: Twinkies and marshmallow fluff cannoli with red, green and white sprinkles. I need to find a way to coat the outside of the cannoli with a thick layer of the sprinkles. maybe honey? corn syrup?
Honey or corn syrup will remain sticky unless VERY thinly applied.
Chocolate ganache, if you have time.
Cream and chopped chocolate, and it will set the less cream you use.
Good luck, and enjoy !!!!!!!
;D
I will look for ready-made chocolate ganache. Or maybe peanut butter or something of that ilk.
Finally getting over here today…..the morning got away from me!
I went with office friendly Marc Jacobs Dot, a creation of Annie Buzantian. It’s perfectly fine, but doesn’t get my attention. That said, it’s OK to have perfumes like that to keep coworkers and others happy and unoffended! 🙂
If I didn’t have the Office Perfume Grinch to contend with, I DEFINITELY would have gone with Daphne’s L’Artisan’s Venenum 32! I still have a bit of my sample left…it’s GORGEOUS! I will apply the second I get home tonight! 🙂
I’m wearing Nirvana White for the project. It’s a fresh, sparkly floral – pretty and wearable by most, I’d guess. I don’t love it, but it’s nice enough. It’s starting to dry down to a muskier base. As I do with food, I’m already contemplating what I’m going to wear later…
I don’t have anything from the three. So I’m enjoying 10 Corso Como from the split meet. Woody and sweet!
You smell great – I really like 10 Corso Como.
Thank you!
10CC is sooooooo good!!!!
It was a blind split buy. I like it a lot!
Kenzo Amour Indian Holi, which I have always liked but worn rarely. This has inspired me to wear it more often.
I thought the Amour flankers would go on longer than they did…was really hoping for another fun one. Instead, appears to have been supplanted by Kenzo World.
I got nothin’ today! Commando and trying to recover from a brutal day at work yesterday. Only chiming in to say I wouldn’t mind a hat like that for myself- so FUN! $32 well spent in my infantile opinion????
Smell well, y’all.
I hope you can get a nice rest now. The hat is fun!
Thanks! At work but having a much better day, so it all evens out????????
I happened to have a bottle of Max Mara by Max Mara from ‘way back when, so I put some on today. Still smells great!
That one is from way back when 🙂
Just starting our drive from SFO to Sacramento. I’m wearing the remnants of last night’s post shower no 5 which I can still smell!
Got a fright when we landed: cat sitter left a VM saying when she got to our building, the fire dept was there putting out a fire on the 3rd floor of our building. Kitties are OK and we’re ground/basement, but they had to evacuate them (only one because the other was hiding under the bed). No damage to our place, but it really spooked me because I was thinking about fires this morning while waiting for my husband to get the car-one of those “did I firget to shut off the stove?” moments. Thankful no one in the building was harmed.
Thank goodness your cats and neighbors are OK! What a scare!
Thanks, yeah it shook me up for a bit.
Glad to hear the cats are fine. Have a safe and peaceful trip!
Tjanks! Hopefully no more surprises.
What a horrible feeling! So glad the babies are okay. Enjoy the drive. If you are interested in fresh pie, you can stop at Ikedas just outside Davis (which is a nice town, by the way.). It’s right off 80.
Thanks for the rec! Would love some pie to wash down the breakfast burrito I just ate at Jack- in-the-Box. We’ll see how we’re doing on time. My father did his residency at UC Davis. That was before my time.
Egads! Fire is the worst! Glad all two and four legged beings are ok✌????
Thanks! Fire is a scary prospect, and the timing freaked me out. I talked to my landlord. Still not sure what caused it but sounded like possibly someone’s battery charger.
Glad things turned out fine.
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! I’m enjoying a quiet and uneventful Friday, after a fair amount of crazy earlier this week.
SOTD = Belle d’Opium, from the bottle I own. I like this one quite a bit, although it really ought to be considered its own creature and not an Opium flanker. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Gosh what a week. At least the perfumes were fun – I did a week of ambers as I don’t have anything by the terrible trio:
Ambre Sultan
Ambre Sauvage
Ambrarem
Ambre Precieux
Ambre Russe
Ooh, I put on Ambre Russe this week also – forgot how nice that one is!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on how these compared. I’ve tried only some of them. Ambrarem is strange but I rather like it; it’s probably pretty different from all the others, isn’t it?
I missed it! But I did enjoy learning what each of these women have created… unfortunately, I don’t have any in my collection (though I do remember enjoying a mini of Banana Republic Alabaster at one time!). I was in my very last of The Peredam sample – my son picked my fragrance out for me this morning.
