Happy Hump Day! And RIP, David Cassidy. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm smelling lovely in Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré. (Hide my credit card from the matching body balm.)
Reminder: 11/24 will be Hide My Credit Card Friday...in honor of Black Friday / Buy Nothing Day, wear a fragrance (presumably from a sample) that you're itching to buy but don't own yet. Suggested by Lovestosmellgood.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Promenade au Faubourg change tray is $630 at Hermès.
I’m wearing delicious, delicious Tabac Aurea — no money saved here, I’m on my second bottle.
Well, SSS is a bargain, so I’d suggest that you get partial credit. 🙂
True! Plus I’m pretty sure I scored this backup bottle in a swap.
I love TA so much. But even on my scent-eating skin it lasts very well, so despite buying it in. . . 2010? 2011? not sure… I still have half a bottle.
yep, I’m wearing it today because I could still smell it from last night!
Really? I too have scent eating skin so I should revisit TA…last time I wore it was a while ago.
That change tray is a LOT of change!
SOTD is just a bit of Tauer Amber Flush Body Oil in my frizzy mop.
I’m upright and headed into work! Thanks to all who sent me toothsome wishes yesterday. My gum is a little bit sore but other than that the bone grafting has been easier than I anticipated. Hoping it continues that way.
Happy Almost Almost Friday Day. Just realizing Black Friday is almost upon us. Egads!
Ooh- new gravatar! I like it, and glad to hear you’re doing well!
Oh! Glad the surgery went well! Also like your new gravatar- looks like a bat!
Glad to hear your mouth is still intact!
Re your gravatar: Is it San Galgano?
The Rock of Cashel????
So glad it went well!!
And yes, comically expensive for a place to throw your loose change.
LOVE your gravatar!!!
Glad you’re not too sore and agree with everyone else, love the gravatar.
Glad that your procedure went well!
Nice to hear that things went well yesterday!
I’m so glad things went smoothly! Dental surgery is soooo not fun. Enjoy your soups and tea!
RIP David Cassidy, I am definitely old enough to remember The Partridge Family.
Sotd is Dame New Musk Man, which to me is perfectly unisex and reads as mostly citrus on my skin.
My oldest is on his way home from college today for the first time this fall. I am so excited to have my whole “brood” under one roof for a few days!
Safe travels to everyone on the road or in airports this weekend. People can be frenzied!
I am old enough too! And old enough to think 67 is too young to die.
Ditto. In reading about him, I’m not sure he’s someone I would have wanted as a friend, but when I was 13, I sure did!
Agree!
House twins! I am , sadly, also old enough to remember David Cassidy.
Day 5 of Prada Infusion d’Iris absolue. I put away the edp for the winter and pulled out this baby last week. Can’t get enough of that dry iris and subtly sweet benzoin.
Happy Thanksgiving, Robin, and everyone here at NST!
Wish I could try that one. Only ever see the normal
Version in stores. Is it Dced?
Sadly yes. You can get it from discounters.
Thank you Suzy Q! We are already busy today. Hopefully the turkey will be all prepped soon…
I love that one. You smell super.

Has anyone else noticed the plethora of Gabrielle commercials ?
I saw it twice during Monday Night Football, and yesterday during the local 11pm news.
I will be curious come January to estimate sales (I’m certain Chanel does not disclose those figures, just apes the best selling perfume in the world who-ha. LOLOLOL ????????????????????????????)

Two thumbs up to stretchy pants at Thanksgiving! I do miss Siskel and Ebert’s movie reviews and disagreements. If a movie got two thumbs up, you better get yourself to the theater!

I have those Gabrielle commercials even after the 11:00 news and also in between the Late Night shows. You smell great in Fahrenheit. I just had a conversation with a few men about men’s fragrances and one mentioned Fahrenheit. It used to be my favorite scent on a man.
Thanks Filomena !
Fahrenheit is the year 1990 in my mind, I wore it almost exclusively then.
Cheers! ☕????????????????????????
????
Fahrenheit is absolutely the smell of 1990. Good memories.
Coincidentally I watched an episode of detectorists (s2e3) last night in which Fahrenheit was jokingly mentioned. “Can you smell the early 90’s?” Though the actor was spritzing from a bottle that was most certainly not Fahrenheit, lol.
You would think they could have sourced the authentic bottle.
Thanks for that pop culture reference, tiffanie !????

Gabrielle ads are all over the place here as well. In magazines and in stores. Dont know about television commercials (i am on a netflix//HBO binge lately), but I also receieved samples of it with some purchases.
Their marketing budgets must be insane….
They’re spending the lion’s share on the marketing rather than investing in the juice.
Yeah, like Bear, i really would like to know how it sells/what their ROI looks like.
Gabrielle smelled really ‘meh’ to me. But I can see why it makes a certain audience happy…
I was at the mall in October and a group of girls were LOUDLY making fun of the Twilight girl poster for Gabrielle.
Seems she is a “love or hate ” figure for the teens/twenties generation.
??????????
LOLOLOL ????
????
Thanks Jiji !????????????

…re: ‘Twilight girl’
I stopped Twilight after 10 minutes. I am too old for that stuff. Haha.
I only saw Kristen in Adventureland and Snow White and the Huntsman, and have no strong opinion of her. Though I think she is not bad (i am glad not to see a Kardashian or a Hadid for a change).
Karl Lagerfeld picked Cat Power/Chan marshall as one of his muses a decade ago. Now that was a good choice imo! 🙂
What fragrance are you getting your niece for her birthday, Bear?
and yes, i h8 you as I am really trying to be good and not buy any more perfume-LOL!!!
Vetiver Oriental Serge Lutens, two jars of Honeymania body scrub AND……………..

How on earth have I missed the Gabrielle commercials? I haven’t seen a single one yet. Not that I am complaining, mind you. And yes, I have stretchy leggings planned for tomorrow’s feasting… no way am I dressing up in tight clothes!
I have not seen Gabrielle commercials (I don’t watch TV), but the biggest perfume retail chain in my country lists it as their best-seller in September and October.
ELdO’s Rien, wanting a bottle of Rien Intense so that people can smell me from Mars!
Néroli Doré is so, so lovely, one of my favourite bedtime scents.
Ha, the people of Mars might well prefer not 😉
Funnily enough a colleague commented that she thought I was discreetly perfumed, and that wasn’t meant ironically.
Rarely manage to comment but always read. Its roasting hot today, 34C expected. In Infusion d’Iris in an unsucessful attempt to keep cool. Have a great day everyone!
Nice to see you, and boy do I envy your weather!
Thank you! And the weather is nice, I do like summer ????
House cousins with Robin in 24, Faubourg. I woke up wondering why I haven’t been wearing this lately, and discovered it’s because I had put the little bottle behind a large, dark bottle of Gucci EDP. Problem solved – 24F now has a place of greater prominence on the perfume shelf.
Hey cousin!
I almost wore 24F today! You smell wonderful!
Big thank you to NSTer Carolyn for Scotland shopping tips! In Glasgow, I found that Fraser’s carries the Dior exclusives in SMALL bottles, so I got a 40(? It’s not actually marked) ml bottle of Feve Delicieuse. They were out of that size in Ambre Nuit, unfortunately, so the SA gave me samples of that, Gris Montaigne and Grand Bal. They also had five new (to me, anyway) that she said were made for the Asian market that were pretty but very light. I have much to discuss with Donatella this quarter, so I have decided I need to up the number of sprays I use at a time in order to justify the sheer volume of perfume in my collection.
Congrats on scoring the coveted smaller size and the samples galore!
Thanks! I think I actually discovered the two Diors I like because of you!!
Donatella understands “Go big or go home!” ????
One of the many reasons that I love Donatella!!
Katrina, you’re very welcome – am so glad you managed to find something in Frasers. I wouldn’t have had a clue about the Diors you mention – I haven’t worn Dior since the original Diorissimo – end of a bottle left after a trip back to Scotland by my late aunt way back when, with which I fell totally in love! I’ve just confirmed a visit to my brother near Tampa for March, so am looking forward to popping into Uncommon Finds, & hopefully will also get to the upmarket shopping centre too for a quick look around fragrance departments in Saks/NM/Nordstrom. Off to London next Thursday, but carry-on luggage only, so if I can’t blag samples I won’t be able to purchase anything significant, although I am hoping to introduce my friend to Perfumer H, who were pretty generous with samples last year for me! I hope you enjoyed Glasgow as much as I do every time I visit.
I have to laugh because my family is in the Tampa suburbs and I had no idea there was a niche perfume store in Tampa! Thanks for ANOTHER tip! Will you go to the new Jovoy in London? They are really generous with samples!!
My brother has lived in Lithia near Tampa for a few years now. When I knew I was visiting him earlier this year one of the first things I did was search for ‘independent fragrance stores’ online. Jovoy is indeed on my London ‘to do’ list, if we have time – we do have a lot to cram into the few days we are there, however. My travel buddy is a fairly recent convert to being interested in perfume, having been worn down by many years of sitting having a cuppa or a glass of fizz whilst I discuss the subject in detail – she really got into it a couple of London December trips ago when a lovely lady in Penhaligon’s Regent Street shop bombarded her with samples & she also thoroughly enjoyed our stop-off at Shay & Blue,
SotD is Le Chevrefeuille by Annick Goutal (Courtesy of Austenfan)
Its lovely.
The opening reminds me a bit of a soap/douche gel my mother used in the 80s.
Its not a typical fall scent, but i needed something cheerfull today.
You don’t want to say “douche” instead of “shower” in North America. Just thought you might want to know people will be thinking you were sniffing what she used to clean the interior of her lady parts.
Oh really? Hahaha LOL
Yeah I meant Shower.
Thanks for the heads up.
Do british people also use the word shower?
Dunno about the Brits, but we use “douche” in NZ in its correct meaning as above, and in the vernacular to mean “idiot”, “creep”, “idiotic creep”, “idiotic, really really really ANNOYING creep”….
Haha yes I was aware of that meaning. Also, the word ‘douchebag’…
Baccarat Rouge because someone mentioned it here yesterday.
You’ll forget about me after I been gone………..
LOLOLOL
????????????????
But I’ll never forget you, Bear!!!
Just teasing, and I love that lyric from Boston.
Cheers ScentSpirit !

Enablers!
Oops! My comment is free-floating below
Technically you haven’t, yet. You can still put the card away on Friday.
That’s what I call positive thinking! 🙂
TRUTH!
LOL! I was laughing hysterically when i saw that you caved yesterday!
I just now saw you got the Souffle, yay! I think that’s my first pin:)
When’s your bottle arriving? ????
That all depends if I cave for the Mugler sale.!
In Aftelier Ancient Resins. And now I am really lemming for the frankincense and the rose face and body balms Robin just posted….
I hope my credit card does not get any use….
You smell great and I’m with you on those lemmings!
Thank you! I think I will survive, for now….
You smell fantastic.
Thank you jjlook!
Haha! I’m sure there’s something else you want that you’re not going to buy this week? Enjoy your Shalimar Souffle!
(For ltsg)
Enabler!
Hahahaha
I have a minor medical procedure today, so wearing Passage d’Enfer to strike that balance between soothing me and not overwhelming the staff. Several years ago I went in to donate blood while wearing Montale’s Black Oud. I’ll never do THAT again.
Best wishes with the procedure and yeah, sounds like Black Oud should be saved for when there’s no risk if fainting.
Twins!!
You smell great!!
Fingers crossed that your procedure was smooth and quick!
Robin, you smell great. I have that cologne but no body products.
I would love a shower gel, too…and maybe a bar soap? Not getting any of them, though 🙂
My SOTD is another Stephane Humbert Lucas fragrance…Kohl de Bahrain. I was on a SHL kick this week.
I’m sampling Incense Flash, and not worrying about my credit card. Demeter Holy Smoke works just fine as a dupe and a 1/2 oz. bottle is six dollars. And right now everything is 15% off.
Holy Smoke is a darned good scent.
Smell Bent is great for incense too, and very affordable.
SOTD Oriza Legrand Jardins de Armide- rosy-violet rice powder. Like ELDO Putain de Palaces but richer and warmer. I have 2 manuf samples and would consider the bottle if they made a small one. So, the credit card is not entirely in danger.
RIP David Cassidy. I loved the Partridge Family.
I watched the show every week without fail, and had a huge poster of David Cassidy on my bedroom wall. Above the headboard, no less. I had it bad.
Better than the ceiling over the bed-that would be having it really bad! I was more of a Danny Bonaduce fan, maybe because he was close-er to my age.
Oh, good grief. I asked my dad if I could tack it to the ceiling, and he said h**l no. Too hard to patch and repaint a ceiling. I’m sure he was a little grossed out as well.
I had totally forgotten this! Thanks for shining a light onto that memory. ????
I was never a fan of Bonaduce. He had red hair, and with lots of redheads in the fam, there was no fascination. But he sure did get all the wisecracking dialogue.
OMG!!! You DID have it bad, LOL! Yeah, I always liked a sense of humor, even as a kid, and DB was the funny one.
I am wallowing in credit card failures of the past.
I am wearing the delicious Tihota, which was the very first scent I ever bought a backup bottle. And so it began……
Is your Tihota juice light or dark? My older bottle is dark and the new one is light. Smells the same though.
My older one is dark, but I have no idea about the new one. I will check when I get home
I am loving this conversation between two adorable puppies! ( I am focused on your avatars!)
🙂
UPDATE:
My new bottle of Tihota is the exact same shade as my original.
Hope this helps
LOL. I have not even thought of that!
Chanel No. 5 EDP and drinking a cup of Earl Grey tea. I have to hide my credit card — my bottle of No. 5 EDP is running a little low 🙂
You smell divine and sounds like Earl Grey steam would complement no 5 well. A bottle is on my list, too. I only ever got got a 10ml decant of edp since I have a FB of the edt which I thought I preferred. That may have changed…
Apologies, I can’t remember who posted about having to face upcoming parent-teacher conferences, but I thought of her on seeing this article from the New York Times Health section, “5 Lessons from a Diplomat for Bridging the Parent-Teacher Divide”:
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/07/well/family/5-lessons-from-a-diplomat-for-bridging-the-parent-teacher-divide.html
It’s a nice article. Now I want to take one of those Art of Negotiations courses on Coursera. Again. Because I don’t think I mastered anything the first time :).
It’s the hardest lesson to learn, and anything like that takes guided practice, really. We need to start learning it in grade school, actually.
No scent yet this morning; I’m wallowing in the wafts of lemon blossom drifting around my house. In my ongoing attempts to develop a green thumb (only partially successful), I bought a couple of dwarf Meyer lemon trees a few months back, and set them out on the front stoop. This past week got a bit nippy at night, though, so I’ve brought them inside, and the scent of the blossoms are nothing short of narcotic.
Oh that sounds lovely! I live in the Midwest, but I’ve always wanted to have citrus trees around my house. Didn’t realize you could grow them indoors.
I have smelled lemon blossoms only once, and narcotic is a great way to describe the scent. Gorgeous!!
I’m wearing Tea for Two today. I have a bottle, but I got it on HauteLook, so my credit card suffered less than it could have. 🙂
It’s a very nice perfume! Enjoy it gilt-free!
RIP David Cassidy indeed. I was a 14 year old schoolgirl in Surrey when he was huge here in the UK & desperately wanted to go to one of his London gigs at White City, but of course there was no way my parents were going to let me do that! I saw him not that many years ago (feels like it anyway!) in Glasgow & he was just wonderful – most people there were ‘ladies of a certain age’ & he didn’t disappoint at all. My late aunt, who moved to upstate New York from Aberdeen, Scotland in the early 1960s (very brave back then) sent me a full length black & white poster of David in concert wearing his fringed white outfit – it was on my wall for many a long year!
I pined after the partridge family bus more than any of the family members BUT i can still remember all the words to I Think I Love You.
Great memory!
I’m partially following the theme: inspired by the latest Tara’s (A Bottled Rose) review of vintage Miss Dior, I’m wearing it from the rescued for a song bottle of vintage parfum: I hid my card well while I still could buy pre-“originale” version at a store, which I shouldn’t probably regret while I can find a good vintage version – and cheaper.
Has anyone tried it recently? How is it?
I smelled L’Originale in a duty-free shop in July and found it very very dull. I mean, missing all the pointy bits and all the glamor.
I did not like vintage Miss Dior the first three times I tried it; it was extremely sharp and actually tried to stab me ;). It’s still not me, but I came around to finding it quite original and bold and lovely.
Reeking havoc today – several samples on at once. And soon cooking smells will add to the havoc. In a very good way!
Byredo Oliver Peoples for a gorgeous sunny day today!
You smell yummy wonderful!
Today’s SOTD is Life Essence by Fendi one of my favorites. With notes of coriander, mandarin, bergamot, cardamom, lemon, cypress, jasmine, geranium, sandalwood, oakmoss and cedar.
I do love my Fendi perfumes. 🙂
Ooh, never heard of that scent but it sounds enticing
I haven’t taken a shower yet and I am sitting in SDV right now. After my shower, I think that I will stay with SDV or just hop on over to wearing Zagorsk.
I did manage to hop on over to Ulta’s website a few days ago and spend some of that bonus on the Skyn Iceland line. That stuff was on sale and it rarely is so it sealed the deal for me. It does look like Ulta will have some pretty good Black Friday deals.
I’m in Dzing! layered with Noir Exquis and I smell yummy and a little weird. I’m okay with that. ????
Going across town tomorrow with hubster and stepson to eat at Luby’s with my dad. My sisters will be in other parts of TX, and I’ll try hard to put on a smile and not miss them too much.
Hubby is helping me bake (always fun) a spice cake for dessert. It will be the start of the first holiday season after losing my mom in March, so I’m just leaning into all the feelings as they come.
We’ve much to be grateful for: houses are being fixed, we have new pups to love, my arm is mending and hearts are slowly healing. Things are looking up!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
❤️✈️???? ????????????????????????❤️
May the memories of your mother be a blessing.
Thank you, mals. ????
Hugs to you and it’s nice to be reminded of all the wonderful things, too. You do smell weird, lol! But I can see that working: having flavored coffee at the circus..
Thanks, Elisa. I think I’ll wear this tomorrow, too. ☕️
Sending hugs Nancyleandros. I hope you have a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable time with your dad. Mom’s memories will always embrace you.
Thanks, pl67. I do sometimes feel her near.
Hugs to you. Hope you are able to have a wonderful holiday.
You too, KellyC. I’m really hoping Miss Lucy feels a lot better very soon!
Dzing! is oddly comforting. You smell great. I’m jealous of your trip to Luby’s and hope you enjoy every moment.
Thanks, tiffanie, it will be a good choice, I hope. ????
Peace to you and yours Nancyleandros. Remember the good times. ✌
I will be making my Mother’s Anise Biscotti in December and know she is guiding me from above! She would make 15 varieties of cookies for Christmas, I’m just making one!
LOLOLOL ????
????????
Thanks, Bear! Hey, biscotti is a real process! More complicated than the usual cookie. Have fun with your baking. Recipes from our moms are so precious. ????????????
“Leaning in” is a wise strategy. I’m guessing your mom was a wise woman who raised a wise woman.
Thank you for this, ScentSpirit! I do try.
I’ll be laughing and crying along with you, Nancyleandros. I hope the memories of your mom bring you comfort.
Years ago, my sister lived in Houston and once met George (#41) and Barbara Bush at Luby’s…
Yay for Noir Exquis! I’m sooo, sooo tempted to buy a FB of it…
Thanks, FearsMice. We’ll get through this, and be stronger for it. ????
Lubys! Yeah!
Loved em when I lived in Texas.
Yep, first Thanksgiving without Mom, also.
You smell great, btw, one of my faves always have a backup Dzing tucked away.
Hugs to you.
Was thinking of you, too. Sending you strength for tomorrow —
Hugs to you for tomorrow Apsara.
Thank you for your thoughts. I find the first big holiday with both parents gone profoundly different than still having one. But, it is the natural order of things.
Big hugs back to you, Apsara. Tiffanie is right, Dzing! is quite comforting, in an odd way. I wish you comfort and peace tomorrow.
Hugs to Nancyleandros and Apsara, The first holidays after a parent passes are tough ones.
Thanks, Jalapeno. ????
Happy Thanksgiving! You’re mom is with you in spirit, forever! I often talk to my grandmother (much closer to her than my mother) in my head. Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel like those who go space trucking never really leave.
Wearing Prada Candy from that decant I couldn’t resist last week (OOPS guess I am opposite the theme).
Just made cranberry sauce and sweet potato casserole. Ham goes in the oven later today; turkey breast tomorrow morning. My mom is making the pies, so I don’t have to do that. My doesn’t-like-to-cook MIL* is bringing deviled eggs and her 7-layer lettuce salad.
*(MIL is the sweetest lady in the world, but not its best cook. She once made barbecue chicken by putting a whole chicken, cut up, in her slow cooker with a jar of BBQ sauce. There was a solid inch of grease on top of the dish at dinner. ???? I am thankful for her presence AND for the fact that she is not making her asparagus/hard-boiled egg/mayo and velveeta casserole tomorrow.)
Oh, man. Southern-midwestern-1950s cooking can be either really delicious or truly terrible.
Are iceberg lettuce, mayo, frozen peas, and grated cheddar among the seven layers in the salad? If so, I remember it well from my Midwestern childhood. Everyone (except me) loved it though . . .
Yes, that’s the one!
It’s not my favorite salad, but when she asked if she could bring it (and not the asparagus thingy) I was glad to say yes.
If the remaining three ingredients are crumbled bacon, chopped hard-boiled eggs, and green onions, then my southern mama’s signature party salad was apparently not so ‘signature’ after all ????!
Oh, I know that asparagus thingy of which you speak!
/shudder/
You smell great in Candy! I’m hoping to get a jumpstart on my cooking this afternoon/evening. I’m still at work for now, though. Boo! And yay the MIL isn’t cooking!
My SIL complained that her spice cake didn’t taste like my spice cake, even though she used my recipe. She said there were really hard things in it. Apparently I had written “allspice” and “cloves” and she didn’t know that she should use the ground kind.
OH BOY. Bless her heart!
Laugh Out Loud. Poor thing!
Haha! A teaching moment.
This is seriously funny! WHOLE cloves!????
Woke up so late today. No time to contemplate perfume. Grabed some Prada Candy and out the door to work. Happy Thanksgiving! RIP David Cassidy.
Hey twin!
Howdy!
You smell great in Candy. I hate the name but love the scent!
Thanks! It’s a great grab n go scent for me.
I’m propped up on a mattress under sleeping bags on the living room floor ( my mother is visiting ) looking at a mist shrouded garden, bright red rata tree and two glossy tuis . I have a sample of bracken and would love a bottle …I’m matching the perfume to adventurer/ explorer Raureka. Raureka ( Ngati Wairangi ) was the first person to cross the NZ alps . She travelled alone up a bush clad west coast river, over a high snowy mountain pass, and down to the east coast. This happened around 1650-1700. She carried pounamu ( greenstone ) with her and the members of the east coast tribes (ngai Tahu) saw it, realised how great it was as an adze, and made her show them where it came from…thus opening up the Greenstone Trails ( and a very bad time for the Ngati Wairangi ). Anyway, bracken is perfect.
Rata…I want to see rata again. We have a mad local tui; he’s always behaves as though he’s drunk, but no rata. Beautiful start to your day, Kanuka. Beautiful!
Murmure des deux, the second of my nuit nomade samples… It has a lot of rice steam up front, and has a nice bit of cardamon, too…
Mmm, that sounds good!
It is–though I think autocorrect did me wrong, it’s dieux, and funnily enough like a better version of fils de dieu from ELDO…
Morning, all. It’s Exam Board day. Three hours of tense tedium, followed by a massive curriculum review meeting. Ah well, I chose to stay… I’m attempting to make the day go better by wearing a pink-and-grey checked dress and 31 Rue Cambon. The dear man looked at me with a quizzical expression and asked if school uniforms were back in fashion. He’s right: this dress does have something of a school uniform vibe going on,, though no school I’ve ever heard of dressed its pupils in pale pink, added and let them wear a shaped, dipped hem. I wonder if this dress was A Mistake? Oh well. I’ll work it out.
What definitely is NOT a mistake is 31. As ever, it is warm without being overwhelming, assertive without being overbearing, and elegant without being even a little bit overwrought. Some perfumes are gifts to the human race: surely 31 RC is one such?
OK. Now to face forward into my day. It is so nice to write a post and have confidence that it won’t disappear. It’s not that I think my posts are deathless prose or anything, but it was frustrating to chat away about a perfume and find that my enthusiasm melted away into some darl cupboard guarded by the technology demons. Becwell, all
One could compose on a document and then copy and paste into the comment box, but I have to admit I never think of that until it’s too late.
I tried. It was the posting that always failed.
We lived in Trinidad one year when my kids were little. My youngest daughter’s school uniform was pink gingham.
Rain again, and I need to go find some straw to cover the strawberry plants before the first freeze. I’m wearing NV Mohur extrait today.
Gorgeous! Another on my list for next June.
It was in the cabinet when you were here–I will try to remember to pull it forward next summer.
Prepping Thanksgiving dinner all day today in ELdO’s Divin Enfant. I’ve been enjoying DE all fall and while I wouldn’t say no to a bottle I suspect another decant next fall would serve me just fine.
Happy cooking (and eating) to all!
We did less prep than I had hoped, but we’ll manage tomorrow….hope your Thanksgiving is perfect!
Elegance Animale. This fits the project. I like it enough to buy it, and when I do it’s at the discounters, which is always delightful.
That one sounds nice. I haven’t seen the fancy Laliques anywhere (though they weren’t on my radar). Saks?
Neiman Marcus sells them. 🙂
We are without a Neiman’s (gasp)!
I tried all of them at Neiman Marcus. Elegance Animale and Rose Royale were my winners. I’ve had both in my discounter carts but haven’t pulled the trigger yet…but Black Friday Cometh! 😉
I love that one too.
Hello peoples. Very busy at the moment.
SOTD is Nobilis 1942 “Rudis” and on Monday was Amouage “Interlude Man”, both very much on theme for this week. Yesterday was Huitieme Art “Fareb”, never tried before and won’t look for it again.
TOMK and I have made an offer for a place in Malaga; survey turned up a water leak issue so that is holding things up as we negotiate with the vendors.
Work is crazy; half my colleagues are resigning this month so stress levels will be high for the next few weeks. My own role will change to something I am more used to so I’m okay personally with the changes. (Well, in theory anyway.) In any case, I only have another 4 weeks to go until breaking for Christmas, and then it’s a 2 month sprint to the finish line.
Hang in there Koenigsber. I hope your work situation gets better soon!
☕☕☕☕????????????????????????????????????Cheers Koenigsberg!
????????

Happy Thanksgiving to you, CM8!
Inspired by Robin’s review of IA O’Unknown, I’m in the brand’s Violet Disguise. I’ll probably need to hide my credit card after I use up my decant, though I would only go for a travel size. So really, I’m not too worried about my cc for those prices.
Plus, those travel sprays are cute!
Unscented again today. I’ve thoroughly misplaced my fragrance mojo while feeling particularly gutted by a bit of family ruckus a few weeks ago. Tempest in a teapot and all that, but sometimes it is the drama from familiar quarters which we expect least and suffer most.
In any case it is a relief to look up from the mire, to wish a happy Thanksgiving to those who will observe the day tomorrow, and to send a hug to every NSTer. You make the world more beautiful.
Thinking of you…
Hugs back to you Tiffanie…
I’m sorry for your troubles. You are so sweet tiffanie, YOU make the world more beautiful!
What lillyjo said! Hon, you have one of the happiest and most buoyant personalities on this blog. Your posts have made me smile many times.
Yep, family knows how to push our buttons….cuz they installed ‘em. ???? I hope your holidays are serene and uneventful!
“Cuz they installed them” ain’t that the truth!
Hugs right back at you 🙂
The mojo will return, I guarantee it. Hugs to you.
Glad to see you, scented or not! Hugs back and I can empathize…
Oh no on the family drama! Why does that always seem to be so much more difficult to deal with? Hugs, and your perfume mojo will be back.
Family. Think of the good times. Hope things are on the up and up, my friend.
Hugs back to you!
I hope the tempest does not do lasting damage and those grey skies will clear up soon.
Sadly, the news for my baby Lucy is not good. She has a severe infection in her leg. No way to know what caused it, although we speculate it may have been from her leg band (that the breeder puts on) rubbing or scraping her and it got infected. The worst of it was high up under her feathers, which is why we didn’t notice until the rest of the foot/leg started swelling. Regardless, 3/4 of her leg is covered in infection. The doctor opened it, cleaned out the infection and dead tissue, stitched it and wrapped it up, and put a collar on her to keep her from picking at it. His exact words were, “I don’t have a lot of hope that she will use that leg again, and I do not have much hope in general for her long term.” We are giving her antibiotics and pain meds and will take her back Friday to get the dressing changed and see if the sutures are holding. I am devastated. Truly sick and have cried and cried. Thank you all so much for your kinds words yesterday, they gave me comfort.
Sorry for diatribe on a topic other than perfume. I am in D600 today (hide my wallet). I have hajusurri to thank for introducing me to this one. It will be mine one day!
I am a crazy animal lover and I feel your pain and devastation. Lucy is in my prayers. I hope she gets better as days pass. Hugs KellyC.
KellyC, I’m so sorry to hear this news. Prayers going up for you and your sweet baby, and I hope she can somehow get better.
oh KellyC, I am so sorry. I too am one who loves feathered and furry family members unreservedly. When they are in distress it is heartbreaking. Please know I am wishing for the best outcome and hope you will keep us updated.
Oh dear…I hope that the outcome is favorable and Lucy recovers quickly.
I’m sorry to hear this about your gorgeous Lucy; I hope she defies all odds and recovers quickly and completely!
Best wishes for Lucy.
I’m so sorry to hear about your baby…a big hug to you.
Oh I’m so sorry. Let us all hope for the very best for you and your Lucy. Hugs to you.
So sorry KellyC. Hugs to you and Lucy and I hope things do turn around for her. So hard to feel powerless when something we love so much is struggling. I’ll keep you both in my thoughts.
Oh, poor Lucy! I’m still sending MASSIVE healing vibes your way. I’m hoping she surprises your vet in the best way possible!
So sorry to hear about poor Lucy’s leg. Fingers crossed for you both.
If the miracle is possible, I wish it to Lucy. Being a loving parent to a furry child, I know how it feels when something is wrong with them and you’re not able to help. I will hope with you.
Eeeek. Sending healing thoughts to Lucy.
Hugs. It’s so painful and scary when pets get sick. Let’s hope for the best.
I’m warming myself up today by wearing Prada Infusion d’Oeillet.
How are you feeling? better I hope 🙂
I hope you’re on the mend.
Another busy day at work. I am wearing Gris Montaigne from a swap decant. I really like this perfume but am resisting buying a bottle because even the small Dior Privee bottle is too large considering how much I already own.
Five days off! Woo-hoo! Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!
They are so large! I want Feve, but honestly would never go through it. You smell divine btw.
We need to plan a trip to Scotland lillyjo. In the comments above, someone mentioned that they returned from vacation with several Diors in 40 ml sizes. I wish they’d send some here!
You smell lovely! Their bottles are large-I think I’ll be satisfied with decant(s) for now. Enjoy the 5 days!
Thanks Elisa. You want to come to Scotland with us? ????
Sure! Sounds like a good plan to save money ???? I do seriously want to go to Scotland one of these days…
My credit card suffered a triple-strength, extra-long workout this week (home repairs) and is lying, spent, at the bottom of my handbag, vowing to never let itself be so roughly used again. No way it’ll even rear its little head on Black Friday…
But no matter; I have plenty of perfume to wear so need to stop sniveling and just get on with it.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all!
Hopefully it took care of repairs for awhile. Home repairs are so expensive but needed. I did some this past year, but it’s really never ending! Happy Thanksgiving eve to you too!
Happy Thanksgiving, FearsMice.
Cherishing what you have is often better than chasing what you don’t.
????????
Here’s hoping that home repairs are done for a while now. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Hugs to you FearsMice! Until the next bargain….
Sample of SSS Bee’s Bliss. It is definitely one of Laurie’s creations. I was worried about the jasmine – not always a favorite – but I really like it. Keeping the credit card tucked away but may put it on my Christmas list!
I just ordered mine on Monday. With Laurie’s stuff, since she offers the purse sprays, I don’t even bother with samples. I have high hopes for this!
Was up all night with my 4 year old with a stomach bug so I am scentless so far. 🙁
Received some lovely decants in the mail today and may break into one later as a reward for weathering the storm.
Hope your little one feels better soon! And hope you can get some rest.
I hope that your little one feels better soon!
Hope she bounces back quickly!
