Happy World Television Day! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in the very cheerful April Aromatics Agartha.
Reminder: 11/24 will be Hide My Credit Card Friday...in honor of Black Friday / Buy Nothing Day, wear a fragrance (presumably from a sample) that you're itching to buy but don't own yet. Suggested by Lovestosmellgood.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the "small teapot" (16 oz) is $85 at Heath Ceramics. "An iconic Heath piece designed in the 1940s to work with any of our dinnerware lines. Not suitable for use on an open flame or electric stove top. Functional, but also a beautiful piece to display."
Earth Mother.
Oh how I love television! It’s one of my guilty pleasures. Recently we’ve been watching PBS’ The Durrells of Corfu with our two girls in the evening and it is so good.
Oooh, that looks like a great show! Did you dvr it from pbs?
And you smell great!
Thanks!
It is a great show, all the characters are really quirky and funny. We actually have an appletv with the pbs app, which lets us watch shows when it works for us.
I need to watch this! I grew up watching PBS…
You do! It’s so good. I grew up watching PBS too, and we still watch it a lot. It’s some of the best television around imo, from Nature to ACL, it’s stuff we can sit down as a family and enjoy.
I’ve been watching that one too
We got hooked from the very first episode, it’s so good!
Love that show. We’ve been watching it too. They are hilarious!
They ARE hilarious! I love all the characters, but I think the mother is my favorite.
Love the Durrells! Going to look for this!
smelling good! I love that one! have you tried the hair oil (I use it as an oil perfume or all over body oil) or body creme? both are really good.
Thanks! I haven’t tried the oil or body creme, but I bet they are fantastic! I checked out the Dame website after you mentioned them….I may order the trial sizes to start with.
I love television, too!
I watched season 1 of the Durrells last year by myself and didn’t love it, then rewatched it recently with my H. It’s so cute and funny! I think I just wasn’t in the mood for it the first time around (I do not recall ever laughing or any comedic moments) though it’s also possible that it’s more fun to watch with others. It was me, though, not the show
SOTD: Nuxe’s Prodigieux Le Parfum + Shimmer oil
Happily moisturized and scented!

I’m on my second cup of English breakfast.
World Television Day! I’m running late because I celebrated last night by binge-watching the 3 final episodes of Big Little Lies and went to bed way too late.
Almost Spring-like weather had me reaching for OJ Frangipani, which I also find cheerful and like enough to buy, theoretically. I’ll see how I feel after I empty my nice-sized decant…
I have 2 more episodes to go!!! The actresses in that show are A list!
I won’t spoil it for you???? I also think they did a great job with casting. I think Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern won Emmys or some award for it.
It’s such a shame they decided not to make another series, I agree it’s really brilliant.
Big Little Lies is great! I was impressed by Shailene Woodley. Oh and you smell sunny
I liked her too. She was probably my favorite character.
That was a good one. I think they’re working on a 2nd season.
SL Feminite du Bois, just because…
Happy belated Birthday perfumelover67! !
Many more! ????????????
????
Thank you Bear!
☕
Sotd is Wonder Bouquet. I love this. It’s like a mix of Hypnotic Poison and Poison Girl edt. I really need to hide my debit card for this one because it’s 25 percent off right now at Mugler.
I still need to try that one, but since I don’t like Poison Girl, sounds like I might be better off with HP than WB?
Don’t ever trust my nose! Lol, try it, i would love to know your opinion. Really, the only PG thing I get is the creamsicle opening, the rest of it, not so much.

1 Iris Nazarena woody rooty iris, but the leather basenote contains artemisia which turns MINTy on my skin a la Bandit.

2 Ambre Dore midway between Amber Absolute and Ambre Sultan. If I didn’t own both I would purchase. Money saved.
3 Baccarat Rouge 540 weirdly smells mostly of Ambroxan ????????????
4 Labdanum 18 today’s scent, starting off similar to MKK, which I own. Obviously will have to see how it develops.

Baccarat Rouge, yes ambroxan and red Kool Aid ????
Gread description. It reminded me of those red hot cinnamon candies.
Lab 18 is one my favorites- you smell great! I haven’t tried MKK, but now I’m curious.
I tried this recently and wanted to dislike it but did not. Yummy stuff!
I love Iris Nazarena. On my skin it has an ashy vibe
I loved it until the artemisia showed up, and it did have an ashy facet, a la Bandit.
Different strokes for different folks!
Cheers lucasai!

????
That’s so funny, I loved Baccarat Rouge! It was what I was wearing when I had my wreck in the spring and I remember how comforting I found it when I was in the hospital and kept catching whiffs of it. But maybe it’s just an emotional connection now and not all that great ha!
Your impression should remain unchanged, KellyC !
My opinion is just that, and I love this hobby BECAUSE of everyone’s diverse experiences.
It was strong and long-lasting, just puzzling.
Cheers! ☕☕☕
????????
Oh it’s unchanged.
I’m hoping to receive a bottle of it as a gift from my love. I’m too cheap to buy one myself. I do think it’s puzzling for sure but the emotional connection is strong! And I agree, that’s what I love about this hobby too, how differently we experience scents.
I found the LL Lab 18 very similar to Musc Ravageur.
They are both Maurice Roucel creations, so share a common DNA I suspect. I find them similar too but MR has the addition of cinnamon on my skin.
SOTD 31 Rue Cambon edt.
Good God, I smell fantastic. Ha!
lovely
???? Yes, you do.
Yes, you do!
Hide my Credit Card: Shalimar Soufflé
I have a small sample and a few drops left. Would love a FB
Today, since I am on “vacation” I made reservations at ABC kitchen, one of my favorite places with another stay at home Mom. ABC is also one of my favorite stores to “window shop”: Look but hide my credit card!
I have to tell you, Fragrancenet has one of the pretty Souffle bottles very cheap. I’m tempted myself. Sorry, don’t be mad at me:)
Going over to look now!!!
Just so you know, I made a deal with myself that I will only get one if you do. Lol!
Haha! Good one ????
Enabler!!!
You get a bright shiny pin!
SOTD #2 after showering is hide my credit card Caron Sacre. I got a sample of this during the freebie meet from Elisa P. It is so spicy, woody and sexy. Hide my CC! and my Apple Pay
I caved! Enabler!!!!!
Cracking me up that you caved on your own project!!
SOTD Arielle Shoshanna, so good!
I just need to hide my credit card period.
but then there is apple pay, so….?
yes, I am just learning about apple pay. Luckily or unluckily, I lose my phone at home or work about once a week so slightly safe.
Oh, and Paypal.
Paypal is so eaaaaasy, it’s dangerous.
Thank you so much to several of you who let me know yesterday that I can get Chanel exclusives at Neiman’s in SF!!!!! My credit card will not thank you but, I would love going somewhere less hostile than the Chanel store. I know perfume is small change there but it s still change they did not have before I walked in. Now, which one to choose….
I think I read that the biggest source of profits from these design houses is actually from fragrance. I could be wrong about that, but it would make sense since the average person can’t really afford to shop in those stores
Fragrance has propped up Haute Couture since 4ever.
Knowing lots o’ fashion fans, they really are from a distant planet.

That’s true, I’m sure.
Hide my credit card from that teapot – so cute! And yet not really useful for much.
SOTD is Dior Cuir Cannage, a very lovely, lightly spiced leather.
You smell wonderful.
My regular morning teapot is only 17 oz, so I would find it useful…but don’t think I’d like the cork.
SOTD is possibly the last spritz of my travel decant of Infusion d’Iris. That means I am down to five fragrances for the next six weeks, unless, um, I buy a new one. But not on Friday (although I may celebrate the weekly theme by stopping a a perfume shop to check out some testers).
There’s always cyber monday
I’m wearing Lyric today. I opted for the travel set rather than a FB. Still does ‘t qualify for the CP.
You smell lovely. I wore it the other night after not having worn it in a while.
It is so good! ????
I need to get my Lyric decant out. It’s good weather for it.
Lyric is gorgeous! You smell(ed) beautiful today.
I’m working on using up the last of my LADDM sample, now that I have the mini bottle. This layered over a ylang-scented lotion. Flowers & spice & everything nice
Sounds lovely!
Good morning Y’all….
Well, I’m rocking a serious caffeine withdrawal headache, so I’m also rocking doTerra peppermint essential oil on my forehead. I MUST stop drinking soda! My triglycerides are high, and the gig with soda is up. This is day one drinking bottled water all day. Anyhoo, I smell like a breath mint….LOL.
Stay healthy y’all! Self-care is so important….that’s the lesson I’m trying to learn….
Have you tried any of the flavored water drops? That helped me break the habit, and then you can just add less drops each day until you’re drinking pure water. Just a thought!
I totally do drops of essential oil in my water! I like grapefruit, lemon, and lime. I add 2 drops per bottle, and it really helps!
But NOTHING will ever taste better than an icy Mountain Dew…..HA HA HA HA
ANOTHER BLACK FRIDAY ALERT:

lalalalala not reading this (cause I was eyeballing that discovery set a while back…lotta juice for a small amount of money!)
No soda!, i feel for you. You are stronger than me. I wish you luck and health.
There are other sources of caffeine, as you no doubt know… Non-soda, that is. Green tea has a lot. I don’t know if you want to go that route or not, but it’s supposed to be good for you in many ways.
Iced tea or coffee? Fortunately I hate soda.
I used to have quite the Coca Cola habit, partly compounded due to being allowed way too much of it as a kid. I gave up pop about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was one of my best decisions. I switched to water, though it was really hard to manage the cravings at first. It got so much easier over time. The last time I tasted a coke it was obscenely sweet to me.
You can do it! As others have said, coffee and tea can help manage the caffeine part.
I got off soda by switching to LaCroix. I really needed the carbonation and Pellegrino/Perrier wasn’t getting it done. Haven’t had a soda in almost a year. Good luck and feel better.
I’m wearing Tea for Two. This is the second time I’ve worn it. The first time was in the summer when I first got the sample. I didn’t like it, I think because I was expecting a tea scent. Here we are in fall and I really like it. It is tea, but it is chai tea. I don’t need a full bottle, because to me it smells like Tibetan Mountain Temple, which is so much less expensive.
Smokey chai is what I get too. You smell nice!
I smell smoke when I wear it, and a weird sweetness
good to know that TMT is a good dupe…money saved
Knize Ten this morning, which to my nose bears a resemblance to Bandit, but I have to say that in neither case does “leather” come to mind in any way, shape, or form.
Nocturnes de Caron EDT – old(er) formula, as far as I remember. Finished my sample. It’s a great sparkling floral aldehydic scent, sunny despite its name.
LOVE Nocturnes and so lovely to see it mentioned..it is an underrated beauty. There are a handful of scents that I would consider my signature and that is one of them.Have had a full bottle in my collection since 1983. You smell exquisite.
Bulgari Black for me today. I wanted something warm, but not my recent go-to warm scents.
Love Black. You smell super.
Love Heath ceramics; their pieces are simple and infinitely elegant.
SOTD is Beautiful, like this sunny, windy day.
Yes, I got hooked on viewing beautifully folded and colored tiles on that website! I’d love to do a custom tile installation in some home some time….
I’m trying Chanel No. 18 from a decant. It isn’t labeled so I don’t know the concentration. At first I didn’t like it because it was just too sweet and fruity, but after a half an hour it’s now settled down very nicely. It’s still a bit sweet and powdery but quite lovely really.
Wonder if it’s the edp since my recollection of the edt was that it pretty tart and no powder.
Today’s mash-up is Oriental Brulant vs. Dries Van Noten.
So far I think OB is winning. Both in a similar vein. Comparing stuff side by side tends to accentuate differences sometimes. DVN smelled a bit uriney at first.
As is said, comparison is the thief of joy…
I am so glad see someone else say they got urine from DVN ( I mean, not that I WANT it to smell like urine for you????), because that is exactly what it did on my skin. Gave my decant away after a couple tries.
Is the drydown better for you?
Yes, the urine goes away. DVN has a sweet, buttery smell to me. My daughter is 4 and I’ve sniffed my share of urine enough over the past few years to say that urine can have the same sweet, buttery smell too at times. Although the urine I got initially was sharper…more like cat urine.
I have decants only of both of these. I prefer the OB and would pursue more of that if/when the time comes.
Sickness day 2. No improvement yet. Funny that I can still smell everything perfectly, including my SOTD which is Le Cri from Parfum d’Empire.
I hope you fell better soon.
fell = feel
Hope you start feeling better asap!
Hope you feel better soon!
Sorry you are sick. Take care and get rest.
Hope you feel better soon.

In the original Omnia for a torture session at the dentist: extraction and bone grafting. ????
On the upside, after I will have some wonderful coffee and a mini cranberry orange scone that melts in the mouth. No chewing required.
Also, one of my top 5 authors published a novel last year that I was completely unaware of!! It felt weird downloading a kindle book, because this is an author whose works I COLLECTED. That is, before I decided to donate my collection. I like the 3D books in hand when written by my top 5, but times, they are a-changing! Looking forward to delving deeply into it.
Wishing everyone the best in Dental Health because the opposite stinks????
Bleh! Dental work sounds horrible. I hope you recover swiftly.
Really Deva! You wrote out that whole exited post about a new novel and didn’t share what it is. Tsk tsk tsk. What is the world of people tightly connected to each other by their shared love of frangrance coming to?
A writer of astounding courage. I’ve been reading her for what seems like forever.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edna_O%27Brien
Aha! A billion years ago I read The Country Girls and loved it. Thanks for jogging my memory.
I love Edna O’Brien but had trouble getting through Little Red Chairs — my tolerance for upsetting material is low lately. So I only made it about halfway and am still feeling guilty about it.
When you finish it come back and tell me if I should.
Oh goodness! Don’t feel guilty about it! Many times I’ve had to put a book down for days or weeks and then come back to it. Because she writes about such difficult subject matter is just one of the reasons I feel she is so courageous. It’s hard stuff, but then so much in life is, for so many people. I feel in an odd way I should be able to read about if others have had the courage to live through it, if that makes any sense.
Well exactly — I should be able to read about it too — my problems are miniscule compared to most of what is happening in the world. That’s why I feel guilty! When I was younger, I read everything I could get my hands on. Now, when I am stressed about how things are going, I’d rather watch endless reruns of the British Baking Show than watch / read anything that matters.
I always forget about poor Omnia until someone here reminds me of it. I will try to wear it soon. Good luck for a procedure that’s as pain-free as possible!
I’m surprised to say it wasn’t really that bad! Of course, I’m still numb, but the actual process in the chair was (amazingly) a breeze! I’m hopeful that the next 24-48 won’t be too terrible! We had a moment of silence for my tooth and I thanked it for 52 years of hard service. I have all my parts except a chunk of my aorta and that tooth. I’m very grateful????
And: Omnia surprises me (in a good way) when I wear it. It’s always nicer than I remember.
Best wishes Deva! Probably lots of soup in your immediate future.
Yes, I have quite a soup/chili /stew line up ready to go????
Indian food is good, too.
Oh man, I had an emergency root canal last Thursday, so I hear you on dental torture. Hope your recovery goes well!!
Root canals are the worst! Very happy they saved your tooth, but the process until completion with a crown can seem like forever. Good luck!
Ouch! Sounds like a painful day at the dentist’s. I hope all that heals quickly and without complications.
Thanks! Me too. Don’t forget to brush and floss ????
Wishing you a painless procedure and speedy recovery.
Thanks Petunia! It wasn’t half as bad as I thought it would be. And believe it or not, the dentist just called me at 730 pm to make sure I was doing ok! THAT amazed me more than anything.
Deva, wishing you good healing. My sister had a go round with that for the past few years and it’s not been easy.
Take care, take it easy.
Thank you apsara! I’m sorry your sister had such a difficult time- did she have complications? I hope she’s all recovered?
Still have to switch around my winter wonders to replace my summer loves in perfume. I have been so reluctant this year to embargo my summer scents Not sure why. I think I just want everything to slow down, more than I am warding off the cool seasons.
SOTD is Cristalle, very lightly applied.
Three questions:
Anyone have suggestions for good deals or rare finds I can ask a relative to bring me from the UK? I can have the perfume shipped to her, etc.
Anyone still hankering to try Aura (Mugler)? I am happy to forward my sample to someone in US.
Robin, did you figure out why AA suggested Agartha be worn on tissue? What’s the scoop? ????
I’m the opposite – summer is when I can’t wear most of my loves. My spouse and I sometimes contemplate moving to warmer climes, but one thing I would miss about Minnesota is how many months a year I can bust out Bois des Iles with impunity!
I looove Bois des Iles in warm weather. Much more so than in the cold. So I fully support your move to a warmer clime!
What are your feelings about Miller Harris? Or, there’s a blast from the past like Aqua Manda or other items from Nostalgic Perfumes Collection…
Were I to have a mule from the UK, think I’d want to try something from Angela Flanders. Never seen the line at any US sites/stores.
Done! Ordered a few of her travel sprays and samples. Great idea.
From London: Angela Flanders, Perfumer H London (Lyn Harris), The Perfumer’s Story by Azzi (Azzi Glasser).
Thanks for these great suggestions!!
Getting my designer on today. Perry Ellis Oud Black Vanilla Absolute on one wrist, Armani Code Satin on the other. Helping me through the longest work day ever. Lovely, non-literal gourmands that don’t break the bank. I’ll be breaking it plenty this Friday.
That oud black vanilla sounds fab! What’s top of your list for purchase on Friday?
Amber Musc by Narciso Rodriguez.
Today’s SOTD is Jour Ensoleillé by Sonoma Scent Studio, this is such a glorious perfume. Happiness in a bottle.
One of my favorites from the line.
I’m apparently continuing the week of “Hide My Credit Card” with my love of iris. I’m in No. 19, which I have not bought, however it is at the TOP of my Chrismtas/Birthday perfume list so I’m hoping to receive it for one of those haha.
Off topic, but can anyone who reads this send warm, positive thoughts to my Lucy (my parrot)? She has injured her leg somehow, either landed on it wrong or in her cage, and it is very swollen and she can barely walk on it. It seemed better for a while but was worse last night and today so my fiance is taking her to the vet. I am very worried about her. I can’t stand to see her in pain and I love her so.
I am praying she hasn’t broken it, that it’s just a sprain or something but I am at work worried sick. :'(
????????????????????
Positive thoughts for Lucy, KellyC !
????
(No parrot emoji so I had to improvise ! LOLOLOL ????)
Said a little prayer for Lucy. It’s so hard when our lovies are hurt/sick.
Positive and healing thoughts coming your way! Hopefully the vet can ease any pain.
I hope everything goes fine with Lucy. Sending hugs and positives thoughts.
I hope diagnosis, treatment, and recovery all go well.
There’s a guy here who brings his parrot to Dolores Park and lets it fly. He wears a brightly colored vest and when he calls “Ziggy” the bird returns to him. It’s quite something to see.
Oh, poor Lucy! I hope it’s a quick and painless recovery for her little leg. Let us know what the vet says!
I’ll keep Lucy in my thoughts and prayers, Kelly C.
Poor litte Lucy! I’ll keep her in my thoughts abd hope all goes well for her.
Oh, your poor Lucy bird! Best wishes for her, and fingers crossed for good news from the vet.
Best healing wishes for your birdie!
get well soon, Lucy.
Poor Lucy. I hope the vet helps her.
wishing you and Lucy good thoughts
Hey Luuuucccccy! Get well soon!
Sending warm thoughts and positive vibes Lucy’s way!
Sending healing vibes to Lucy for a quick and painless recovery,
Hello, everyone. It’s me, with a working network! ????????????????????????. Yesterday took hours, but it’s done and it seems perfect. Yippee, and other happy noises! The kittens were soooo helpful, especially Alexander, who watched every activity so closely that if anything ever breaks, he will surely be able to fix the problem. Stripey to the rescue. Super Stripey the Fixing Feline….I’m In a stupidly good mood. Clearly, it doesn’t take much to make me happy, just porridge and berries, hot tea, a functional network and….oh dear, yes, I have to confess this: Frapin et Cie 1270. I admit it: I ran completely counter to this week’s project. Sorry? No, actually, not: as I told my father once when I was a little girl, “If I’d been going to be sorry, I wouldn’t have done it.”
So. I met 1270, I loved 1270, I bought 1270, I’m wearing 1270. I think I’d shower in 1270 if that could be arranged. It’s deep and thought-provoking and rich and interesting: booze and fruit and spice, with a random flower here and there. It’s probably going to be excessive for a warm day, but then, I feel excessive today. I’m wearing a dress I think of as vaguely “arty”: lots of fabric gathered in at the hem to make an odd but not displeasing shape, in a moody dark green, accompanied by a linen duster and some shoes that are a strange non-colour between green and bronze. Somehow 1270 fits in with this slightly mad assembly of bits, and I feel great. Not my usual style at all, but I like it.
Eric is squeaking politely for his breakfast. I must go and attend to his inner purr. Be well, all. And Robin, please don’t be too cross that I broke the project. If you could just know how much I like 1270, you would instantly understand and forgive.
1270 sounds gorgeous!
Hooray for a working network! I love your quote to your father, I’ll have to remember that one, lol.
Congrats on getting rid of the network gremlins that were causing you so much grief!
You made me go to the website to read about this scent. It sounds gorgeous!
First – congratulations on the Internet Wonder!
Second – I agree with you on 1270. I liked it when I tried it a couple of years ago. Had I have any store around that carries the line, I would have probably ended up buying it. But it’s a hassle to get a new sample to confirm that I still like it.., So at least for this week money saved.
PSA and lemming alert-

i want that “Marzipan Pig perfume in the worst possible way
If for nothing else, the name alone!
exactly
I am generally no-buy these days, but I got the une nuit nomade samples set, and today am trying Mr. Vetiver, who is dry and spicy, apparently. No need to hide the card (yet, I am in hope/fear of Memory Motel).
I’m wearing many sprays of Safran Troublant this morning before I dive into a day of errands and volunteer work. How is it that I can be more busy after retiring than I was working? It’s a mystery…
It’s a wonderful mystery, though. Hey, I was looking ahead in my diary (I still use a paper diary-journal combined), and on 1 December, I saw a large red ”R”. I had to stop and think why Friday 1 December was to be a red letter day, but of course, it was “Retirement”. Hmmmmm….how things change! Taking everything into account, I ‘m really pleased with my decision, but I’ll take it year-by- year.
Sotm: Eau des Missions
Thanksgiving at home (after several years away) means LOTS of cleaning and prep. ????
Later making the drive into the big city to pick up DS from airport. This gives me the chance to stop at Nordy’s and Neiman’s for some sniffing. Yippie!
Hope you found something good to smell! We are starting cleaning and prep tomorrow, first thing.
I’m not hiding my credit card today, but I am pleased at using up a small decant. I’m wearing PG Praline de Santal, which I received in a generous package from kpaint earlier this year. I was in the mood for another cozy perfume after The Red yesterday. It’s raining non stop today and will be for most of the week.
My best friend is flying in tomorrow night to spend Thanksgiving with us, and I’m so excited! Poor thing is flying from DC to Seattle for just a 2.5 day trip.
Yay for using up a decant and for seeing your best friend!
Sotd was Sycomore.
#worldtelevisionday
I am watching The Leftovers this week, dont know where its going, i dont think it will deliver answers, but it is entertaining so far!
You smell great!!
Thank you!
I’ll be traveling tomorrow to visit my son and his girlfriend in my hometown for a few days. Rather than squash in all kinds of activities and get-togethers with friends, I’m planning to simply enjoy time with them. The holidays can feel stressful and we all want them to be a particular way. I’m just going to go ahead and enjoy my family, and not fret about whether or not I get mashed potatoes or get my own way. I’m very grateful to have the family I have left, grateful for those who have passed that I will always remember, and grateful for the opportunity to have the time to spend with others. It certainly won’t be perfect, nor will I. And that’s just fine.
I’m wearing Rahat Loukoum which I never expected to like but simply do. It makes no sense, much like life.
It’s a recent discovery for me since I thought it wouldn’t be for me. I can’t imagine owning another full bottle of anything right now, but I am grateful for having the sample that is gracing my life.
What a fantastic reminder to slow down and enjoy things during this time of year. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Jalapeno. Best wishes for thankful days ahead for you!
Beautiful! Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you, perfumelover67. I know you understand. I’m sending you best wishes for the days ahead.
Enjoy your family, Holly. Have a superwonderful Thanksgiving!
Thank you, hajusuuri. Wishing the same for you!
Robin, I forgot to mention yesterday how much I liked the bee photo. That was pretty darn cool.
SOTD = Donna Karan Black Cashmere, original formulation, from the sample stash. I always think of this as one of Waterdragon’s signature scents.
I liked the bee too. Immediately made me think of the Bee Girl from Blind Melon’s No Rain.
“No Rain” was a great video. It has some bittersweet memories for me, though, and I sigh a little every time I watch it.
And seriously, there’s a whole collection of them! All public domain.
Back after a weekend with my parents in SF (I avoid traveling on holidays like the plague). Wearing the Tauer « cuddle » scent courtesy of Pixel who bought this on my behalf at the SF Tauer event in April while I was in Canada.
Hooray for Cuddle. It is oddly addictive even if not very original.
Angel Muse in the morning- I remember buying this after standing in a corner waiting for the light to change and wondering what was that lovely smell. Then I realized it was me!
Hitting another $5 movie this evening. I love Tuesdays. It’s right next to the good grocery store, so I will see how crowded it is. Their homemade matzoh ball soup is delicious.
My evil Sephora package is downstairs with the doorman. I did pull the trigger on Twilly, so will send samples to my sister and my niece.
I really should be staying home this evening. I’m a newbie knitter and was many rows into a ribbed cap when I realized it was going to be way too small. I’m now on row 3 after ripping it out… sigh. I have to get this done so I can start in the scarf I’m making my husband for Christmas.
I would like to learn to knit for the sole reason of making T-Rex some funky winter sweaters. She doesn’t have an undercoat and gets cold very easy if she’s not active. I’ve been buying one or two here and there at TJ Max, but they’re very cheaply made (not really expecting much for $14!). The only durable one I have is fleece, a Ruff-wear, which cost the earth even though I got it at discount at Sierra Trading Post.
I haven’t been checking in much lately, as I can only do 1 internet obsession at a time. Early November was spent obsessively looking at makeup; after all my sephora orders arrived I moved on to hair color (I’m now my own colorist, something I’ve got little knowledge of or skill for.) One serendipitous result is that it’s been my lowest $-perfume-purchase month in about a year
That said, I do not plan to participate in hiding any credit cards Friday, and have decided my H can buy me a bottle of Nobile 1942 Patchouli for xmas. It’s reasonably priced but I have a hard time paying full price for anything, including perfume, so when there’s no other option I let my H buy those ones as gifts
I may buy it Friday, along with all kinds of other stuff, as well as a bottle of Pour Monsieur for him. (Holiday and birthday shopping has become so much easier since he started wearing perfume!)
I have been breaking out the opulent wintery orientals of late and am today in (vintage) Opium edt. I haven’t worn it in a year and had actually forgotten what it smelled like (I think I’d supplanted the smell of Obsession in place of Opium in my memory but they’re not at all similar beyond genre.) I’d forgotten how creamy it is, and also how sweet. It’s actually knocking me out a bit even though I dabbed judiciously about 6 hours ago. Potent!
I remember the original Opium from back in the day. I always liked it but couldn’t wear it. It’s a beautiful big scent.
Alaia Blanche today. Its one of the prettiest bottles I own. Smells good too
I haven’t tried that version but agree that the bottle is very pretty!
