"Watch as Vogue Magazine takes Michael Kors Wonderlust campaign stars Lily Aldridge and Wouter Peelen away for a sun-soaked weekend of fashionable fun in Montauk." (Note: this is way more relaxed and casual than the official campaign, but it looks even more compelling to me on a cold January day. Plus, lobster rolls and ice cream.)

Friday scent of the day 1/6
A quick PSA: our Régime des Fleurs contest is still open.
It’s take it down a notch Friday! Our community project for today: wear a perfume that has a bad reputation because people wore way too much of it back in the day. Go ahead and wear it lightly, or go loud and proud, you’ll get points either way. Thanks to Bear for the suggestion!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I’m in Yves Saint Laurent Paris. I went with the traditional 1980s loud and proud application, but I’m not going anywhere this morning so perhaps I have not really lived up to the ‘proud’ part. Still, I smell like the color of that bag, and you can smell me two rooms away…
Orchids use a particular bouquet
Certain features of the orchid-specific brain pattern were recreated when mosquitoes were exposed to body odor. They also found that mosquitoes would actively fly upwind and land on the odor source when exposed to orchid or body odor scents. These results provide strong evidence that orchids use a particular bouquet that shares features with blood-hosts to attract the mosquitoes they rely on for pollination.

Andrea Maack Soft Tension & Dual ~ fragrance reviews
Soft Tension and Dual are the two latest releases from Andrea Maack, an Icelandic multimedia artist who established an independent perfume line in 2011. Both are inspired by Icelandic landscapes. Soft Tension is a “sensual white musk inspired by a thick mysterious fog,” and Dual is “inspired by the calming water of the natural hot springs in the Icelandic highlands” and “mimics the feeling of fresh water on the skin and the intense color spectrum surrounding the hot spring lagoons.”
I’ve never traveled to Iceland, but I’ve heard fascinating accounts from friends who’ve been there. Would Soft Tension and Dual provide an olfactory substitute for a Nordic getaway? I tried Soft Tension first…
