Mother's Day (in the US, anyway) is coming up on Sunday, 14 May. Here are a few scented gift ideas so you can get that shopping done early.
The reasonably priced Jonathan Adler Pop candle collection at Bloomingdales includes a range of scents from Tomato to Bourbon to Fig to Earl Grey. $38 each.
My Burberry in a solid perfume: "Bursting with notes of Sweet Pea, Freesia Heart and Patchouli, this heady, floral scent captures the essence of an English garden after rainfall and is designed to melt into your skin. The sleek case makes it perfect for slipping into a favorite tote or cosmetics case for on-the-go touch-ups." $50 at Net-A-Porter.
Byredo's hand creams look even nicer in green: "For Mother’s Day, Byredo is launching a duo composed of Blanche and La Tulipe hand creams. Blanche, the translation of the color white, transparent in nature. The scent resembles freshly laundered cotton. The fragrance is pure and simple in structure and yet extreme in character. La Tulipe inspired by the flower who will not surrender its smell through distillation, resembles the smell of newly cut tulip stalks during spring." $70 at Barneys.
A classic from Yves Saint Laurent — Perfumed Bath & Shower Gel in the Paris fragrance: "A bath range inspired by the rose. Sensuous products that provide the velvety touch of a rose petal and enhance the skin's natural sparkle. This crystalline gel melts, on contact with water, into a mild and creamy foam to gently cleanse the skin. The rose essential provides a feeling of comfort and well-being, which makes showering a pleasure and transforms a bath into a moment of bliss." $43 for 200 ml at Nordstrom.
Fragonard's fun Femmes Fleurs Pouch comes with four 15 ml travel sprays in Rose de Mai, Violette, Fleur d'oranger and Verveine. $48 at Beautyhabit.
The Ma’amoul Soap Sampling Set from Senteurs d'Orient features nine 40g bar soaps: "With designs inspired by the traditional Lebanese Ma’amoul pastries, each mini Ma’amoul soap is handcrafted by artisans in our atelier and air-dried for 10 days. We use a blend of precious essential oils, fine fragrance and moisturizing Olive oil, Vitamin E, Shea butter and Glycerin for soft skin and relaxed spirit." Soaps in Orange Blossom, Tuberose, Oriental Gardenia, Honey, Amber, Cedar of Lebanon, Almond Exfoliant, Jasmine of Arabia and Rose of Damascus, $50 at Twisted Lily.
Lush's Mother's Day offerings for 2017 include Mom bath bombs in Pink and Yellow: "Pop this fizzer in the bath and watch it release pink swirls of Sicilian lemon and sweet orange with refreshingly floral hints of rose". $7.95 each at Lush USA.
I’m getting that soap sampler by Senteurs d’Orient!!! I’ve ordered the Amber soap before and it was FABULOUS. Getting the whole set and being able to try all of them is perfect. Oooo, how will I choose which one to start with? It really is like a box of chocolates, so hard to pick.
Oh, I am jealous! Please come back and tell me if the floral bars are good.
I was thinking, those really sound delicious! Good to know they are worthy of the name.
Jessica also reviewed the OB one and liked it:

This was the review that first sent me to their site. I ordered the Amber soap on a rope. It was expensive BUT, it was huge, at least 2-3 times larger then most fancy soaps. I hung it in my closet for a couple of wintery months and the scent was delightful each time I opened the door. When I finally used it in the shower it lasted forever. Plus I’m pretty sure my husband sneakily used it, he smelled suspisously like Amber lol. I think I may do the closet/drawer thing again, these little soaps seem the perfect size. There are at least 3 of the scents that I hope tempt me to buy full sized! I wish this company did other bath products, I’m a complete sucker for bath luxuries.
Ah, so it’s her fault! Looks like these are much smaller soaps (40g instead of 205g), which is nice since you get to test them all without going bankrupt.
Never was a big YSL Paris fan, but I want that shower gel!
I want to at least smell it — I loved Paris at one time.
That is the prettiest shower gel, and a more fleeting version of Paris might be just the thing. I wonder how the cap works, i.e., do you have to unscrew it, or does part of it pop up, or something?
Good question — I hate unscrew-caps in the shower. But no idea, sorry.
I love Paris (always have) and wish they’d make an oil (maybe they do?). Seeing the bottle made me realize it’s what I wished Rose Delight smelled like. The Tauer is lovely, but I was hoping for a fresher rose oil to slather on post-evening shower. If anyone has recommendations for such a product, I’d love to hear it, btw.
So far as I know, there is no oil. There is a body cream, and a “Voile de Rose” body milk:

Waving over here…

Those soaps please!
LOL – your little monkeys need to get with the program. It’s never to early to get them started 🙂
Wholeheartedly second that!
Fragonard has such great packaging. That little coffret is tempting.
Yes they do 🙂
