B Balenciaga Intense ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 6 October 2016 3 Comments

B Balenciaga Intense

Balenciaga will launch B Balenciaga Intense, a new flanker to 2014's B Balenciaga.

A deeper interpretation of the original fragrance, B. BALENCIAGA INTENSE is a vibrant and lavish mix that lures with an addictive, fruity hook of green tea, blueberry, and edamame, ultimately evolving to darker, dry woody notes of cedar, mahogany, and queen of the night. This combination of ingredients combines for an elegant and addictive fragrance.

B. BALENCIAGA INTENSE celebrates the portrait of a woman as she unveils her darker, most essential self. She defines the modern woman’s profound power, confidence, and freedom to express emotion and sensuality, revealing a dramatic depth of emotion and raw femininity.

B Balenciaga Intense was developed by perfumer Domitille Bertier. It will be available in in 50  and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

I’m curious to read a substantial review of this… So far not much has surfaced on Fragrantica or Basenotes. My partner wears the original as a signature, and I found it interesting to note the mixed reviews it prompted from critics…

I’m sure there will be reviews eventually — I don’t think it’s out yet.

I received a few samples of this today and all I have to say is that I AM IN LOVE. I compared this Intense on one arm to the original on the other and it seems like the notes are backward. The original has a floral opening to a VERY strong woody dry down, Intense has a VERY strong woody opening and a fruity-ish dry down. I can say that the Intense is VERY intense as far as the wood notes are concerned but not much on the rest of the way to the dry down. It doesn’t last as long as the original but still has some staying power to it. As for sillage, I would say it’s shorter than arm’s length to skin scent I think. In my opinion, I really love this Intense version a lot and I do plan on adding it to my collection once it is released, but nothing compares to the original.

*This is my review on fragrantica.com :)
